New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Wtf! Weighed myself this morning and i appear to have put 2lb on! Seeing as Im eating 1200 calories a day how is that even possible?

(hoping i just need a giant poo)

TheOneWithTheHair · 17/09/2012 08:05

Morning everyone.

Happy birthday to your ds IMST. Did you show him the drum cake yet? :)

reastie well done you. That's a great boost for an MM morning.

mars strange thing about this thread is that we've all had weeks where we've tried really hard and gained and then fallen off the wagon and lost. I bet your hard work shows on your next weigh in. Don't give up! :)

I'm now 11st 7lbs. I'm really happy to have got to the half way point to get to 11st. After weeks of stalling I feel I'm getting somewhere at last. Also I have body balance and aqua aerobics today so that will help too.

marriedinwhite · 17/09/2012 08:08

Oh well done reastie

WW tonight. I am hoping the scales will say I have lost 1/2lb. Not done too well this week.

BonkeyMollocks · 17/09/2012 08:18

Weigh in: No loss no gain .

How the hell do I get away with it? Confused

Im going to give the fast day another go I think. Dh is working tonight so it will be easier.
If i fail with that then at least I will be back on cals like last time!

Have a good MM everyone!!!!

BonkeyMollocks · 17/09/2012 08:19

Well done all the losers! :)

Poo Probably just water. It will be off at next weigh in if you stick with oysters!

BonkeyMollocks · 17/09/2012 08:20

Ffs stick with it* ! Hmm

Flojo1979 · 17/09/2012 08:22

Can I join....again Blush
It's proving much harder than I thought it would be to stay focussed and stop compulsive eating in the evenings.

PooPooOnMars · 17/09/2012 08:24

Was thinking i needed to eat lots of oysters then! Grin

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 08:31

Hi again Flojo and welcome - what exactly are you struggling with?
reastie, that is brilliant :o Well done!
Poopoo, I agree with Hair, we've all complained about that in the past, it's your body trying to fool you into thinking screw this and filling it full of all the things you fncy. DO NOT GIVE IN. You will get there :)
Hair, well done. I am 3lb above you and desperate to get to the stage where I refer to myself as eleven and a half stone rather than just under 12 iyswim.
married, is that a half or one or two?
Bonkey, me too - I have eaten everything I've wanted since Friday. Today I am still 11lb10 which is wonderful. But am I? Or are a couple of lb lurking somewhere ready to pounce when I least expect it? Seriously - if I've eaten the food and my weight is still the same, can I assume it's not suddenly going to catch me?
I am so tempted by the fast days but really don't think I could, I am going to attempt to have a week where I stick to 900/1000 cals though - not having put anything on has really motivated me. This time next week i could be 11 and a half stone. I have 6 weeks in which to lose 10lb.

Weigh in for me - 1lb loss Smile so 21lb in total. I did dip down to 22lb during the week but that was unofficial and I'm hoping it will ping off next week. Off to zumba again tonight. Is somebody updating the Google spreadsheet for us all or shall we do it ourselves?

thatlldopigthatlldo · 17/09/2012 11:26

well done sleepy,
I'm in a predicament. Am recovering from surgery (dental) and am really restricted in what i can eat, in fact everything other than ice cream and marshmallows is painful. I also can't exercise til this has all settled down.
Trying hard not to comfort eat but can't eat my usual diet that's been working for me for the last month and having to have a rethink.

soup soup and more soup? Hmm

also the codeine and tramadol are playing havoc with my digestive system.

meh. motivate me please.

nochipsthanks · 17/09/2012 11:28

Morning all. 1 pound on for me this week (had a massive roast dinner last night with all trimmings, so hoping it is that....).

I feel so dispirited and keep losing motivation, so this week I am trying to make just small changes which hopefully add up to a regular weightloss.

So I am going to do a food aim, a drink aim and an exercise aim, and then not think about things beyond achieving those things. This week;

Food aim - to have 'green juice' only until noon. (I am juicing a cucumber, lettuce, knob of ginger, two apples and a lemon and drinking that. It tastes okay, and I think my skin is noticeably clearer).

Drink aim: To drink 6 pints water a day. (And to have achieved that before I drink any wine).

Exercise aim: to do at least 30 minutes exercise every day.

That is all. I think I can do that. If I can lose just a pound a week I would be thrilled.

littlemissstan · 17/09/2012 11:37

shuffles in quietly

I am back on it after a three day trip to France with work that involved steak, mussels, chips and a whole tonne of wine and ice cream. And then this weekend of drinking and cake consumption. Sigh. I haven't dared weigh myself but am starting the 5:2 thing today to try and kick start it all again. Ugh.

Well done to you all for having far greater willpower and control than me!

LollipopViolet · 17/09/2012 11:41

Weighed in this morning.

12 stone 11 pounds.

Soooooo.... drumroll

I've lost half a stone!

Yay! Day off today, got some personal admin stuff to do, forms for volunteering at CAB mostly, so tomorrow will be a case of, go to the jobcentre, get my nails done, then go and hand the forms in, go to the fabric shop for wool, then go to the gym :)

PooPooOnMars · 17/09/2012 11:44

Yay lollipop!

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 12:17

Well done LV
Welcome back littlemiss, sounds like you had a good time :o
nochips, how much of that "green juice" do you drink? And does it really taste OK?
Pig, not sure, sorry. How long is recovery likely to take?
sleepy, thanks for reminding me about the spreadsheet, is today the official day - suppose it is MM :o

OP posts:
nochipsthanks · 17/09/2012 12:42

Hi Stealth. I currently drink a half pint of the green juice. When I first started I was over enthusiastic and started by drinking a pint, and I got the most dreadful stomach pains, bloating and [whispers] gas. So I scaled it right back to a 1/4 of a pint for several days and now I have half a pint and I am fine. About 3 weeks doing this now, and I really do think my skin looks better.

It does taste quite good. This morning was not the best one, because I used a whole head of romaine lettuce. That was a bit stong. But the two apples and the juice of a lemon cuts through the 'green taste' which I know puts people off. So it tastes pretty refreshing. I sometimes top it up with coconut water, or just tap water. I like the thought of getting a whole lot of lovely nutrients first thing in the day with no fuss!

nochipsthanks · 17/09/2012 12:45

(Plus I hope it outweighs the hotdog I am having for lunch)

Grin
StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 12:45

Am tempted to give it a go...how long does that all last?

OP posts:
nochipsthanks · 17/09/2012 12:54

How long did the pain last? That lasted about a week, but I think if you start on a small amount it would be fine. (actually, the raw detox website I got it off recommends you start on 8 fluid ounces. Typically for me, i launched in with an 'all or nothing' mindset and nearly scuppered myself! I was so bloated that DH looked at me and said 'you know, you are actually fatter'.). It has settled down now. I feel it when I skip a day, and feel quite energised after it.

We have a 20 year old juicer so I am not sure how effiecient it is, but the above quantities of veg makes pretty much bang on a half pint.

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 12:56

A whole cucumber and a whole lettuce and two apples....half a pint?? Really? I thought you were going to say you kept a jug in the fridge for a week!

OP posts:
nochipsthanks · 17/09/2012 12:58

Yep! I know!! I was buying 7 cucumbers and 7 lettuces in one go last week.

I do think our juicer is not too efficient though, as the bits it chucks out (the fibires) seem pretty wet.
