New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Today was a crappy food day, bacon sandwich for breakfast, training at work, they provided sandwiches, then the treasure hunt ended with chips as the only food choice, and a free Freddie chocolate for taking part.
Still under 1200 cals but more by small portions than nutrition.
Back onto proper food tomorrow.

KatoPotato · 15/09/2012 20:29

Well done reastie I think that's a mighty impressive calorie burn! I hate nearly dying on the cardio wave and seeing I've only burned like 88 cals!!

And there's no shame in dropping to knees for 5 secs to recover during planks! X

sleepychunky · 15/09/2012 22:45

Hi everyone,

Well done reastie - isn't it good how just reading someone else's efforts makes you more determined not to just say "sod it, I can't be bothered today?" Hooray for us!
Completely didn't eat anything all day until 5pm Blush food sort of passed me by as I was so busy. Have now caught up though but still under 900 cals for the whole day. Have been in pure heaven watching Strictly tonight well except for any bit of it where I have to listen to Bruce or Tess, which unfortunately means most of the show and can't wait for Downton tomorrow. No chance of getting me off the sofa for any exercise on Sat or Sun nights between now and Christmas!

KatoPotato · 15/09/2012 22:49

Sleepy I had a bit of a boogie with DS to strictly tonight! And as he weighs less than I've lost I'm amazed I find it tricky to dance with him in arms for any length of time!

I also made it through the day on a protein shake and a teaspoon of pb! Have more than made up with an epic Chinese feast!

InMySpareTime · 16/09/2012 07:53

Good morning everyoneSmile, Happy Sunday!
I'm having a quiet day to rest off the tail end of my cold. I am in charge of food today (so it will be proper home cooked food with vegetables in).
DS loves his drum kit, we got practice pads to mute the sound for the sake of ourselves the neighboursGrin. He doesn't know about the cake, but he did let me have 2 of his flying saucer sweets to use as cymbals on the cake "for some craft I'm doing".
The treasure hunt was great, we came second last, I got drenched (driving round the block holding a bowl of water), a stranger photographed us all inside the same phone box, we were pipped to the post on the "enormous cucumber" front when someone had a 19"er.
An odd day, but lots of fun.

MrsPnut · 16/09/2012 08:05

Morning.

IMST, that does sound like fun.
Reastie - well done for gyming it.

Yesterday was a bit of a write off, I had quite a healthy breakfast then sandwiches for lunch at belton house but because we had to return DD1's school shoes after I got back, I was persuaded to have fish and chips for dinner. It was delicious but not on my menu plan.

Back to it today, with roast chicken, veg, and yorkshires.

InMySpareTime · 16/09/2012 18:19

Today was a good food day.
Pasta omelette for lunch (like Spanish omelette with pasta instead of potato)
Salmon stir fry with noodles for dinner.
Planning a glass or two of wine later too.

BonkeyMollocks · 16/09/2012 18:31

Well its my time of the month nd i am.fighting a losing battle with my eating.

Bastard hormones just want me to eat :(

Gah ! I have a few good days and then fuck it up Angry

Dh is not helping either buy bringing home chocolate most nights he works. I think we need.to have words!

reastie · 16/09/2012 18:34

bonkey I know the feeling - hormones raging here too. If you're anything like me a couple of days and it will settle down - just put down the chocolate and get something else to munch on!!

Everything progressing slowly here still - tried wearing a pair of size 18 trousers I found in the cupboard today - wayyyyy too tight and admitted defeat an hour later for my size 20's - one day I will make it in to size 18.....then I'll be one step closer to size 16 Grin [glass half full]

KatoPotato · 16/09/2012 18:50

You sure will reastie! I was there this time last year!!

reastie · 16/09/2012 18:51

my engagement ring fits again Grin . this is a big deal - I ahven't been able to wear it for nearly 2 years as my fingers have been too fat. Wedding ring still too small as it's half a size smaller than engagement but I'll get there I won't mention that my finger throbs with the ring on as it's a bit tight as I'm so excited that it will just fit on my finger again

reastie · 16/09/2012 18:52

xposted - thanks kato

KatoPotato · 16/09/2012 18:55

but not too powerful what with sore finger- that ring will be spinning round your finger soon enough!

KatoPotato · 16/09/2012 18:56

Oh and a bittersweet 'non scales victory' my funeral dress is a size 14.

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2012 19:02

:( Kato tho good it is a size 14
Rrastie that is brilliant :o

Cook pasta in stock then drain. Chop peppers, spring onions, add peas, eggs.
Bake the lot in a greased metal frying pan, ideally with grill and oven at once, until it all goes brown and lovely.

thatlldopigthatlldo · 16/09/2012 19:08

stealth, are you on MFP?

thatlldopigthatlldo · 16/09/2012 19:29

ok,i'm in. what do we do on this thread then?

i've lost 8lbs in the past month since deciding to get my arse into gear.

need another good week this week.

InMySpareTime · 16/09/2012 20:07

This thread is not about a fancy pants weight loss regime, we eat less, move more, do our own thing really. It's mostly a support forum.
We help each other back on the wagon, offering sympathy or a kick up the bum whenever appropriate.
We celebrate losses, move on from slip ups, and keep going to get excess weight off and keep it off.
Not because society says, because we want to.
It sounds a bit militant there, we're nice really.

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2012 20:08

Thanks imst, sounds lovely and a good way to get pasta fix without too much pasta!
Hi pig :) general chat and support plus arse kickibgs and no excuses! Why are you losing weight and how much do you hope to lose? 8lb in a month is a brilliant start, well done

OP posts:
thatlldopigthatlldo · 16/09/2012 21:04

i want to lose weight and get fit so i can enjoy exercise like i used to, so that i can where the clothes i like, rather than what looks ok on me, and so i can be a healthy.

weigh in this morning - 2lbs lost Grin , and, I'm still wearing my engagement ring - the throbbing has stopped now. It keeps glinting it's diamond at me Grin

eighty wow - dinner cooked by such amazing caterers? Lucky you Envy - what did you have?

this thread is fab - I joined a month or so ago and it's really helped me get back to it when otherwise I would have given up

IMST has your DS now seen the drum cake? What did he think?

InMySpareTime · 17/09/2012 06:49

Not yet, we're waiting until DH wakes up.
I added silver balls, a pedal and a stool yesterday, it looks pretty darn cool if I do say so myselfGrin.

reastie · 17/09/2012 07:23

Second excitement of the day - I'm wearing a size 18 dress Grin Grin - I've been trying it on every week for a couple of months and last week it was nearly there but the zip wouldn't do up - today it does just . I'm feeling very proud of myself (and excited that I have something else to wear despite the fact it's a bit tight in the chest area !).
