Here is the new, shiny thread. Only three weeks or so to go until we swing into really strict mode!

Morning all! Just signing in from holiday to mark my place on the new thread. Food not too much of a problem over here but am indulging in rather a lot of alcohol Blush.

Jan good to see you back hope things are a bit calmer for you now.

BIWI many congratulations! Thanks

Oh I am also a Virgo!

Welcome to all the new posters hope you come to love this woe as much as we do. Will catch up properly when back from hols.

Right, there is a sun lounger by the pool with my name on it. Grin

Morning all, a whopping 2.75lb gain for me today. I know it was a bad weekend food wise but I was still surprised. Hoping it's mainly water/glycogen. I don't look heavier though.

tell I was already running 5k in trainers so once I got my five fingers I researched how to run barefoot on the internet and started out walking in them then did a couple of miles run with a few days inbetween then just upped it to the 5k. It's not what is advised but I felt so much better running barefoot that I just did it. Had really sore calves afterwards so you need to stretch them a lot. The vivo barefoot website has some good info and there are some good videos on YouTube as to how to do it but it seems so much easier and more efficient.

I do lots of resistance and not that much cardio. I do weights in the gym 3 to 4 times a week and probably only run once or twice. I do do sprints on the bike or treadmill at least once a week but I know I need to improve my endurance cardio

Following my earlier post.. Ive been to the co opand there were no black farmer sausages... So ive got chelmsford star which are around 4g carbs per sausage.. Still quite alot but only half of what i had yesterday. The ashfield cumberland sausage from aldi had looooads!

Thegoddessblossom · 10/09/2012 09:57

B: full fat greek yoghurt, pint of water, pint of berocca, mug of tea (decaf).

hurricanewyn · 10/09/2012 10:30

Morning all. I've updated the spreadsheet, but I've lost 6 lbs since my last weigh in! Obv managed not to do too much damage on hols.
Only thing is, my weekly weight liss is ohh - says I've gained 199lbs (my actual weight). I assume it's because I didn't weigh in while I was away, but I didn't want to fiddle with the formula columns.
No breakfast yet, but will prob be something with eggs. I'm makung a burger bun later from flaxseed (homemade burger with bacon, cheese, tomato & mayo - can't wait), so I'll report back on how it goes!
If there's enough mix left I'll try crackers for cheese too.

hurricanewyn · 10/09/2012 10:31

Stupid fat fingers - weight loss is off

PrincessSparkle86 · 10/09/2012 10:39

hurricanewyn That sounds yummy! Can you post a pic later Smile

Happy Birthday half and Happy Anniversary BIWI!

I have found that if I remove the carpet "feet" that my scales are meant to have if you use them on carpet, and weigh myself on the bathroom floor instead, I lose 2lbs Confused

PrincessSparkle86 · 10/09/2012 11:30

nigella i always weigh myself on the same tile on the bathroom floor... I havent removed the feet tho. I am quite obsessive lol Smile

BIWI · 10/09/2012 11:53

Nigella - my scales did exactly the opposite! Did you buy the WW ones? The little feet keep breaking on mine - I'm already on my second set, which is a bit irritating (although WW did send me a set free)

BIWI you must feel like all ur christmases have come at once! Unfortunately its a bit pricey for me to do at the moment... Our house is falling to bits Envy

BIWI · 10/09/2012 12:04

Well, if it was free I would feel even better about it!

I didn't think it was too expensive, actually, given the cost of a lot of courses. (Although I appreciate that your circumstances make it too pricey for you).

I have just made courgette rice in the blender. MMMMMMMM. Never made it before.

BIWI · 10/09/2012 12:09

Tell us more, Humph ...

OP posts:
HumphreyCobbler · 10/09/2012 12:19

chopped up smallish, in the blender with water.

I thought everyone else was doing it like that and I was the only one. Is that not so?

It was quite wet but squeezed it out through a sieve and fried it in olive oil and curry powder then added butter. It was yummy.

HumphreyCobbler · 10/09/2012 12:20

ah, realised should be cauliflower rice. That explains it.

WillieWaggledagger · 10/09/2012 12:25

lol humph

i haven't done cauli rice yet as all the recipes i've seen have involved a microwave and we don't have one, but clearly yours doesn't involve one (clearly I'm not very imaginative) - how much water do you put in the blender?

HumphreyCobbler · 10/09/2012 12:35

the water was just for chopping purposes, so I just bunged a bit in.

I haven't got as far as a recipe yet

Thegoddessblossom · 10/09/2012 12:41

Delish lunch of olives, tuna, mayo, lettuce, cucumber in mint and yoghurt, slice of ham, boiled egg, few bits of roasted onion and courgette, small bit of roasted veg frittata.

EwanHoozami · 10/09/2012 13:32

I'd LOVE to go on that course. I've just read the webchat thread, he seemed like a great communicator and spoke with warmth and humour which most nutritionists lack

People who are Good At Drinking Water - when will I stop peeing like a racehorse? Will my body adapt?

Yesterday was pretty good, I think ...
B: Kedgeree (cauli rice, smoked mackerel and a boiled egg)
L: chargrilled chicken and a handful of pistachios
D: Sirloin steak in bearnaise sauce with runner beans & celeriac chips (YUM)

have ordered some better scales, might step on them in a few days

NigellasGuest · 10/09/2012 13:33

sorry to be a pain - Breast of lamb in the slow cooker - can't find BIWI's post where she said what to do! think it was just put in slow cooker and that's it but wanted to check.... I've read back through entire thread - was it this thread or the last one anyone pls?

Humph thanks for your link a while back - I have saved that recipe! (stuffed marrow).

and re. my scales Yes they are the WW ones. strange that yours do the opposite, BIWI. and princess if those are the same scales aren't you meant to take the feet OFF for tiles and put them ON for carpet?? perhaps I'm a bit confused. But I'm going to stick to the method that gives me a lower weight Wink

Medal · 10/09/2012 13:36

Nigella, check the recipe thread as I asked BIWI the exact same last night!

vnmum · 10/09/2012 13:38

That course would be good but unfortunately DH will be gone by then so I will struggle with childcare. At least BIWI will be able to tutor us all on the thread when she gets back Grin and we might get some new recruits from it too Smile
