Here is the new, shiny thread. Only three weeks or so to go until we swing into really strict mode!

Bit like a month-long bootcamp without the dairy

Whole 30

halfthesize · 17/09/2012 20:08

Thanks dolly interesting reading, not sure how I would cope with no dairy!! x

BIWI · 17/09/2012 20:18

Pretty close to Bootcamp, actually.

dollyxdaydreamer · 17/09/2012 20:44

Thanks for the carb counter BIWI - didn't weigh the veg but guessing standard portions according to your counter my total carbs have been brought right down forgets the kettle chips

BIWI · 17/09/2012 20:45

I think I may have forgotten to delete some of the entries I'd made in the spreadsheet, dolly!

Tea was 2 burgers on coleslaw, celery, cherry toms, mushrooms, spring onion, salad, red peppers.

Snacks have been 6 brazil nuts and a gin and slim, and a babybel.

Feel really snacky tonight. Would normally not be remotely tempted by the cake in the kitchen but am having to sit on hands. Can't have any more cheese, have had yoghurt, babybel and sour cream today, not to mention cream in two coffees - dairy overload! Can't see the "whole 30" working for me somehow.....

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 21:19

Don't think the fact that dh is in a bad mood is helping, I made a sarcastic comment about who's cooking tea and he massively overreacted, and is sulking in the other room watching football. And I did cook tea. And cleared it all up. And made him a cuppa.

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 21:20

Are we allowed nuts on BOOTCAMP? Apart from alcohol it's like my only treat....

BIWI · 17/09/2012 21:30

Nope.

Nice try Bloss Wink

dollyxdaydreamer · 17/09/2012 21:44

I've just looked at the LBD thread BIWI and I didn't realise it was 10 weeks long. For some reason I thought it was only 2 weeks.

SharonGless · 17/09/2012 21:47

Queribus that looks ok depending on what ou are having with the roast pork? Lots of green Veg and your menulooks perfect.

Unlike mine which I am not posting as am too ashamed of myself.
Emotional eating today ladies and I am not proud of myself but will post just o remind others how easy it is to fall in the trap.
Dd had her first full day in reception today and I also had her in breakfast and after school club. Felt bloody awful about it all day - guilt ridden full time working mother shit, which I know is ridiculous.
Went to pick her and DS up afte a particularly shite day at work. She had a big tantrum and wanted to stay at after school club! Had to carry her out screaming Sad
Came home and promptly ate everything in sight which unfortunately was not all low carb.I felt horrendous afterwards - there was absolutely no reason to sabotage all my good work over such a trivial issue.
It didn't make me feel better so why the hell do I do it?
No alcohol and plenty of water though so tring to look on the positives and not weigh myself until later in the week.

BIWI · 17/09/2012 21:57

dolly - after the first two weeks you move on to Bootcamp Light, which is more relaxed! You are allowed nuts/seeds, alcohol and some fruit. It's much more manageable. The idea of the uber strict first two weeks is to really break the carb addiction.

OP posts:
Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 22:08

Pants re nuts.

Sorry to hear about your shit day Sharon. Sad

SharonGless · 17/09/2012 22:28

Cheers Bloss
Tomorrow is another day and all that

BIWI · 17/09/2012 22:33

Ah bugger. What an awful day. But great you didn't fall into a vat of wine!

I've posted Bootcamp Light rules (only marginally changed) on the LBD thread. But I'm slightly alarmed as FiddleDeFat is nowhere to be seen re the spreadsheet! I'm wondering if she is on holiday?

OP posts:
MrsHerculePoirot · 17/09/2012 22:53

BIWI can you post a link to the thread please?

BIWI · 17/09/2012 22:54

Here you go

OP posts:
BIWI · 17/09/2012 23:01

MrsHP - I'd like to go to a zumba class but I'm a bit of a wuss about going on my own Blush. When do you go? Is it good? I've never done anything like that before!

OP posts:
MrsHerculePoirot · 17/09/2012 23:13

Thanks for link! Don't worry about going, it is fun. I am the size of a small elephant and my face goes tomato red, so if I can go you'll be fine!

I used to g to the Tuesday night class - time has just changed so now 730-815. I can't go tomorrow, but want to go next tues. Also on Friday and Sunday 1230-115 when I just checked...

sybilfaulty · 18/09/2012 06:39

Hi girls

Sorry to hear about your rubbish day Sharon. Mine do breakfast club and ASC on the days I work and it is hard for them. They are very tired so enjoy taking out their fatigue on their old mum. They do get used to it, so hope the tantrums will calm down.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a mainly LC day, though my DH bought me a huge box of chocs (er, has he not noticed my eating habits over the last few weeks????) so I had to eat a few. Not very nice and won#t be repeated. He also bought me some lovely perfume, which I had asked for, but the cat hates it and won't come within a 2 mile radius! oops. Also drank champagne and a bit of red wine, but still, it's only once a year! Back on the straight and narrow today.

Have a great day everyone.

queribus · 18/09/2012 07:30

Morning all

sharon - your day sounds horrid, hopefully today will be better. And I had lots of cabbage and courgettes with the roast pork.

Weighed in today - I've lost 3.5kg in a week. I'm very pleased.

Haven't really felt hungry, just trying to break old habits like toast when I walk in from work/school run. And snacking in front of the TV. I thought I'd struggle and miss bread and potatoes, especially crisps, but I really don't (so far!).

B - greek yoghurt
L - left over chicken, salad and avocado
D - pork meatballs or eggs and salmon (haven't decided yet)

Smile
sybilfaulty · 18/09/2012 07:55

Great weight loss, queribus. After a while you won't miss crisps etc and will be able to sit smugly stroking your new thinner clothes whilst rest of family tuck in

Thegoddessblossom · 18/09/2012 08:08

Happy birthday for yesterday Sybil!

I am 9 3 this morning. 2 pounds up from yesterday.

WTAF? Hmm Shock. Can it be the dairy?

Have had Greek yog for brekkie today but will steer clear of any dairy for rest of the day. God knows what will be for lunch as have a meeting in London today. Salad of some description I guess.

BIWI · 18/09/2012 08:15

Great loss, queribus! Well done.

MrsHP - I shall gird my loins and have a go. I'll look at the latest timetable and see what classes suit me (although I'm relatively quiet with work at the moment). If I can pluck up the courage, I'll let you know which one I'm going to so that we can meet up first - and don't spend our entire time wondering which one of us is the MNetter!
