Welcome back! You absolutely need to indulge on holiday so don't worry about what you ate.
Come on and tell us what you ate! I wantt o hear about all that fudge and shorbread. Yum yum.

KBear · 12/06/2006 21:06

Hi Jahan, well, I didn't go silly but I did realise to my horror that I had eaten a whole packet of shortbread with the last two coffees I made! I was in shortbread addiction mode, I had to eat it, ALL of it, no crumb went uneaten. Felt sick after!!! Also Orkney Fudge. A previous unmentioned addiction of mine when in Scotland. It is so delish but your teeth do start to dissolve after two packets - here are mine Grin!!!!

Oh, and fish and chips in Oban - possibly the best on the west of Scotland. Tested them out in Fort William too, also fabulous.

Ah, then there is the wine. And the mackeral on the BBQ fresh from the loch washed down with more wine, and the seafood paella and.....

I'll get me coat.....

Sounds great.
Have you decided if youre going to RC tomorrow?
Sometimes its good to know how much damage you've done so you can work to undo it, but othertimes, it can make you feel really down to find out and demotivate you. For me, it just depends on what mood or state of mind I'm in.
I've been ill for the past few days so I haven't really stuck to my diet. I've not cooked so we've had takeaways etc.

KBear · 12/06/2006 22:55

I will go and get weighed but I hate this heat and I know I will feel awful if I do aerobics. I will see if what the temperature is tomorrow night! I'm going to be mightily fed up if I have put on more than a couple of pounds but like you say, you've got to enjoy your holiday haven't you! Looking forward to swimming in them morning - all that coool water - would love to go now!

KBear, go to the class and get weighed - not going will be the start of a slippery slope. My class concentrated on toning last week rather than lots of aerobics, and it was better in the hot weather.

Exercising loads at the moment to try and combat the effects of two bbqs over the weekend - wasn't so much what I ate but copious amounts of vino. Also went to the cinema last night for the first time for ages and had some walkers sensations - v yummy - but am planning a mega aerobics session this evening!!

Hi Kbear, so glad you had a good time - that's what holiday s are for Grin, the food sounds gorgeous. Envy

I'm with everyone else, you have to go to class, if you have put on a lot, you kow that you can loose it and the sooner you get back on track the better, if you haven't put on that much you can come on here and gloat!

CGM only put 2 1/2 lb on!!!

I am reckonong on half a stone while I'm in France Sad

I have started as a last gasp thing. doing a bit of Davina every night, last night it was legs and bums and I can't half feel it today. Tonight it's abs - oh dear me!! this is 30 minutes a day and I must keep it up as it will not only help tone my flabby flesh it will help with the weight loss.

KBear · 13/06/2006 13:56

Hi gals. Nice to back with you all keeping me in check!! I was always going to get weighed to see what the damage was but just not struck on doing the aerobics tonight in this humidity. Just been and bought some particularly fetching shorter jogging bottoms, Yuksville as a fashion statement but cooler than the ones I usually wear. Tried on a pair of shorts but thought it would horrify the girls standing behind me should I be required to touch my toes!!

Glad you hear you're all doing well.

Put on 3lbs.

OP posts:
cerys · 13/06/2006 21:02

hi all, I have been lurking for a while but have to post as I put on half a stone in France 2 weeks ago Shock. It was all those croissants, baguettes etc. So I had lost 10lbs on the GI Jeans plan and then undid all my good work. It was a good holiday though Grin

Kbear - 3lbs is not bad after that lovely sounding food! At keast you've been back to class and can start again.

I thought I was going to pass out from the heat last night as we did aerobics. I was purple in the face by the end. Just to compound my shame, my DD2's classroom assistant had joined the class and we were next to each other for the sit-ups and floor exercises. Slight embarrassment all round this morning as I took DD2 into school!

KBear · 13/06/2006 21:29

Hi cerys! I couldn't have done aerobics in last night's heat. Tonight wasn't so bad as we had thunderstorms this afternoon but it was hot even so. I'm not overly worried about the 3lb, could have been worse but you can't help but think if only you had been sensible but, that's life isn't it!

I swam this morning and did tonight's class so I'm already working on next week's loss (if only this sweet tooth i've acquired would bugger off).

My friend just called me - I collected her DD and mine from Brownies tonight on the way back from RC. Apparently her DD said "why is Kbear trying to lose weight she doesn't need to, she looked like a teenager tonight when she picked us up because she had her hair up". I LOVE HER (she's my goddaughter too!).

3lb is very good considering you have had a fortnight off.

And it will soon be off!

AllieBongo · 14/06/2006 09:21

i joined last night, after deciding w watchers wasn't for me. loved the excercise. felt like i was doing something other than standing on some scales for a fiver..

Hi Alliebongo and cerys - welcome to the discussion. KBear, you know three pounds after all that yummy food isn't bad, and if it went on quick, it'll come off quick too...

Slightly dreading weigh in tomorrow night as decided to drink some relaxing wine and watch big brother instead of planned aerobics DVD last night - am going to aerobics class at lunch today to make up for it. Have yummy packed lunch today, cottage cheese, ham and salad in pitta bread - unfortunately I am tempted to start it now - will resist, will resist....

Have a good day

I think we should keep posting what we're eating so we can copy everyone's ideas to keep it interesting.

Today I'm having two small slices of malt loaf for lunch and some fruit.

Dinner I'm having pork stirfry, using pork loin, beansprouts, sugarsnap peas, baby corn, slices of carrot and pepper and whatever else I find in the fridge!

AllieBongo · 14/06/2006 14:07

i'm doing the 2 week kick start. i'm so hungry i feel like passing out.. just had a little bit of cereal with skimmed milk... aaagggh

KBear · 14/06/2006 14:32

AB - the first two weeks are a nightmare I remember them well (see the beginning of this thread!!)! Don't starve though or you'll give up. Make sure you eat multigrain bread or new potatoes if you have a salad. I ate smoked mackeral with salad a couple of times a week - more filling and tasty (IMO) than tuna or whatever.

Hang on in there!

AllieBongo · 14/06/2006 16:18

i only want to lose another 8lb. at this rate i'll do it in the first fortnight! had to eat, i've had some fruit

lilibet · 14/06/2006 19:43

I've stopped having breakfast Blush, I know, I know it's the biggest sin of all and I shall live in fat hell forever for it, but heigh ho, I now have a couple of pices of fruit mid morning, for lunch today I had a big slad with some (6%fat) coleslaw, and for tea it was stuffed onions. I also had a mid afternoon snack of nice granary bread, low fat soft cheese adn pickle. Yum!

cerys · 14/06/2006 20:49

AllieBongo - I was evil on the Kickstart. DH and the children were scared of me. In the end my class leader said I could go onto the main diet straight away. Sod quick weight loss, I can't do being hungry!

KBear, that was a lovely compliment from your god-daughter.

I have just come back from an extra exercise class (polishes halo) and had a small piece of steak, 3 new potatoes and salad. Unfortunately I am now thinking about sweet things, so I might put a facepaack on and go in the bath, as I can't eat in there!

Tomorrow I go running, so I hope I see a loss next week. I just wish I wasn't so obsessed by cakes/sweet stuff/chocolate. I want to lose 3 stone so I know I'm in it for the long haul.

KBear · 14/06/2006 20:54

Things that keep you on track - I'll start....

No.1 - Don't go hungry, have a low cal cereal bar in your bag in case of emergency (headaches and bad moods get me if I'm hungry!!)

No.2 - When the munchies get you in the evening have a low-cal hot chocolate drink (I have Ovaltine light because I'm a pensioner!!).

No.3 - Go to bed early!

Can I add half a bottle of wine to my food for yesterday Blush

I think that measuring yourself as Kbear has done is really good if you do it from the begining, then on those weeks when you don't loose the measurements can spur you on.

Cerys, I'm not sure yet how much I want to loose but it will probabaly be in teh 2 - 3 stone range. I'm just keeping going till I feel happy.

If I have lsot 1lb tonight it will be my first stone so keep your fingers crossed for me.

charliegreensmum · 15/06/2006 10:32

Fingers crossed lilibet! I'm getting weighed tonight too.

Yesterday had:

Breakfast: Branflakes with dried apricots and raisins, s/skimmed milk.

Lunch: 2 w/meal pittas with ham, l/f cottage cheese and salad, nectarine.

Snack/treat: Small pack cadbury's shortcake biscuits Blush

Tea: Home made chilli con carne with rice and a shape yoghurt.

Hope you're all getting on well!
