AllieBongo, eat more fruit and veg, and add in some exercise - it will be fine and next week it'll be very nice to have your daily treat and glass of wine.

I lost 2lbs!! V chuffed and rather surprised, must be all the exercise as the diet went to pot a bit this week. Have lost a stone since Christmas, may seem like a long time to some but did a lot of uping and downing for a while but now feel like I've got the hang of it all with RC.

Food diary today:

B/fast: Branflakes and strawberries with semi skimmed milk

Lunch: Moroccan chicken wrap from Greggs, 2 nectarines and 1/2 bacon puff thing (through the other half in the bin when I realised it was actually going into my mouth...)

Dinner: Bacon and mushroom risotto from w/watchers cook book, 2 glasses of wine.

Major achievement today was not visiting the vending machine at work (it's SO tempting). Not sure how I ended up eating that bacon puff though, think I let myself get too hungry without eating anything and fat self took over! Worked extra hard in class tonight to work it off...

Let me know how you're getting on.

Oops, meant to say 'threw' bacon puff into bin, not 'through' - just in case the spelling police are lurking....

AllieBongo · 16/06/2006 06:59

well, i'm struggling. may phone woman and say i am having trouble. I've lost 10lb with WW since March and only have another 5/6 to go but could eat twice as much as I do on this diet :( love the exercise though

KBear · 16/06/2006 12:23

Do the WW diet and go to the RC class to get weighed and do the exercise - we won't tell Grin. Whatever works best.

My mum likes WW and has lost a stone recently.

Yey Hay for kbears mum and CGMum!!!

And yey hay for me cos I lsot 1 1/2lb last night which takes me over the first stone Grin

However my food diary for yesterday leaves a lot to be desired cos dd was ill and so I shall draw a veil over it!

charliegreensmum · 16/06/2006 13:01

Well done on your stone lilibet! It's a great feeling isn't it?

AllieBongo, tbh I found the kickstart too much after a week and reverted to eating healthily - mainly I just try to stick to less than 5% fat and avoid too many treats/wine during the week, am not really the type for avid calorie counting. Lost 5lbs in the first week on kick start, and then 2lbs ish most weeks since which I am very happy with. Use the w/watchers cookbooks a lot as they are easier, cheaper and more practical than the RC recipes. One thing I have done is really tried to improve my exercise regime which was non-existant before, am now exercising 3-5 times a week and doing healthy activities, mainly walking, with DH and DS at the weekend.

HTH and don't give up

LILLIBET - well done!

I'm trying to get back into the swing of it but my biscuit habit that I succumbed to on holiday is hard to break out off.

Having multigrain bread and marmite for lunch (I LOVE MARMITE) and a yoghurt and grapes.

AllieBongo · 16/06/2006 20:53

thanks guys. think it is too much for me when i don't have that much more to lose, and really i'm old enough to know what i should be doing Blush will eat healthily all week, with the odd treat and i think i need to exercise

KBear · 16/06/2006 22:01

AB - exercise will make the world of difference I agree. And yes, we all know what we should eat but we need to pay someone to tell us and make us stick to it. Mad really but that's the way it is!

So, what exercise are you going to do?

OP posts:
AllieBongo · 17/06/2006 08:13

well, i am going to attend an aerobics class on a monday. As i work evenings it can be difficult, so don't want to be out lots. I always walk to and from school and take the kids out for a walk at least once at week, so will walk a bit faster. I also have a yogalates video which is great, and works but i am too lazy to do it. so i will be doing that twice a week. Before you know it, I will look like Kate Moss!

lilibet · 17/06/2006 15:08

my efforts with Davina lasted all of two dys - it's too hot to get sweaty!

My food has been all over the place with dd being ill, yesterday it was a low fat cesear salad for lunch and gnochhi and tomato sauce for tea - at 10pm!!

Tonight we are going to a party, not that thrilled at the prospect tbh, I have a very sore throat and am thinking of driving, if I do I will be able to control my food and drink so much better. Then again with the way my throat is feeling I don't actually wnat that much - evry cloud has a silver lining and all that

Have a good weekend everyone!

charliegreensmum · 19/06/2006 12:32

Hi everyone

DId you have a good weekend? Mine was awful (in diet terms) but very good in every other way. Ate pizza, lots of wine and far too many crisps (they are my real downfall), but back on the diet wagon today and thinking about going swimming tonight.

Did you have a good weekend?

CGMum

lilibet · 19/06/2006 12:40

Hello

Well, due to the sore throat I had nothing to eat all day Saturday apart from a bit of curry at night and that hurt Sad

sunday I was feeling better so had another low fat cesear salad for lunch adn then for tea had salmon with a lemon sauce, nice veggies and jelly made with red wine and fruit with low fat creme fraiche for pud.

At night I did have a few throntons toffees (and they were luverley!) and I helped dh demilish a couple of bottles of wine Grin

I'm a bit disappointed that apart form the few who know that I am going to class no one has commented on me looking a bit thinner. I've lost a stone, I must look a bit different? Dh says that I'm not doing it for people to comment, and he is right but t would be nice if someone did. Anyone else had good comments unprompted comments from people?

charliegreensmum · 19/06/2006 12:59

Lilibet

I know what you mean about not getting any positive comments - I think part of the problem is that I am still losing weight I put on when pregnant (even though had DS over a year ago) and I don't think people realise what an effort I am making.

From previous experience I have had comments after losing 1 1/2 to 2 stones - in a funny kind of way I don't think they really help me at all as I subconciously hear them and think I've done enough and stop putting the effort in - if that makes sense, I'm not sure it does!!

What is motivating me is that DH is giving me lots of money for my birthday that I'm saving to spend in the sales in July and I want to be as slim as possible then so I feel fab when I'm trying stuff on. Also we have a wedding at the end of September that I want to look really good for.

Have now trained DH to say how wonderful I look each week when I get back from RC class - he is v supportive....

Your tea last night sounded yummy!

KBear · 19/06/2006 14:03

Lilibet - people might be scared to comment in case you haven't lost weight IYKWIM. For example, there is a girl at DS's preschool. She is probably a size 22. I know she wants to lose weight, she told my mum, and she looks like she has lost perhaps a stone but I'm scared to say "ooh, you look like you've lost weight" in case she takes it the wrong way. Perhaps she doesn't want anyone to draw attention to her weight, I'm nervous of putting my foot in it. This might be crap but puts a spin on perhaps why no one has mentioned your weight loss.

I think sod everyone, if you are losing, your clothes are looking better and you're feeling great that will shine though and don't worry what other people say.

I am seriously off the waggon - FGS I worked so hard to lose 10lb and now I'm eating ridiculous things and I can't stop myself. Going to the class tonight and hope for a good talking to by the leader to set me straight. Putting weight on on holiday has de-motivated me completely. I feel like I'm never going to lose it.

Help....

OP posts:
KBear · 19/06/2006 20:48

holy crapola - put on another half a pound this week (weighing today cos at work tomorrow). delayed reaction to my holiday I think.

Am strictly back on it tomorrow.

OP posts:
cerys · 19/06/2006 20:53

KBear - do you feel motivated and back on track now? I am sure you will be fine this week.

I lost a pound this week and that is only because I have done a lot of exercise, e.g. a 5 mile run yesterday. Am annoyed with myself now as it could have been so much more!

I am planning to get all the books out again and make a list of meals I like. 2 of my children have birthdays this week so there will be lots of cake temptation around!

hope everyone else is having a good week.

KBear · 19/06/2006 20:58

I don't feel very motivated by I am going to kick my own backside into gear and get motivated!! I am back to where I was in April and all that hard work has gone to waste (or rather to my waist!).

Stepping up the exercise will help I think.

OP posts:
lilibet · 20/06/2006 12:16

oh dear kbear Sad

I think it's hard when the hols are over to motivate yourself again.

How much do you still have to loose?

Do you fancy trying the kick start again?

KBear · 20/06/2006 13:04

lil - Still want to lose a stone if I can but would be happy with 9lb!

I'm cross with myself.

How are things going with you?

OP posts:
lilibet · 20/06/2006 16:14

ok, slow and steady which isn't what I want but it is better than nothing. I loose or stay the same every week which is wonderful but I just wnat to loose 3lb every week which I know isn't going to happen! (especialy if I keep eating the chocolate covered thorntons!)

Yestrday I ate 2 apples, low fat soft cheese, lettuce and roasted peppers on wholemeal bread, falafels, new potatoes and salad (oh and some thorntons smothered in chocolate!)

I am concerened about weight gain on my holidays, I don't want to watch what I eat and drink while I am away but I don't wnat to undo the good work of the last couple of months.

lilibet · 20/06/2006 16:14

Forgot to mention the half bottle of wine yesterday as well! Blush

KBear · 21/06/2006 10:09

I have organised myself this week - I did a healthy weekly shop, lots of salad to pick on when I get the munchies. I seem to be back on track. Having porridge for breakfast again is a good starting point - fills me up and stops me thinking about mid-morning snacks. (When I'm at work I always feel I need a mood-lifting munch at about 11 - boredom I think).

Still wish I could find more time for exercise. What with working, DH working nights and the kids there's never an extra hour to nip off and do a swim or a class. DH's shift changes next week so hopefully I will get some time then.

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
lilibet · 22/06/2006 09:14

I get little or no exercise adn it's not really thru lack of time, it's thru lack of motivation.

What about an exercise dvd or video kkbear?

KBear · 22/06/2006 11:46

I might get one lilibet - davina's one is supposed to be good. I do on occasion put some good thumping music on and leap around the living room trying to remember what we do at the RC class! Work gets in the way is the main problem - must give it up! I wish.

Had a good week so far, been sensible (good I hate that word, story of my life!).

Mum lost 2lb last night at WW - yay, she's happy!
