I had an apple and a yoghurt for breakfast, a pack of tesco low fat sandwiches for lunch and dh is just being creative in the kitchen with some quorn sausages, onions, mushrooms, low fat fromage frais, mustard and pasta!

Ah, and I nearly forgot Blush I had a slice of bread with low fat cheese spread and mango chutney when I came in from work.

That is actually the biggest change in my life since starting Rosie - I used to come in and have slice upon slice of bread and butter, it's been 8 weeks since I did that and I feel like an addict confessing

"My name is lilibet and it's been 8 weeks one day and four hours since my last slice of bread and butter" Grin

No exercise today - my step counter is at 4345 and isn't likely to get much higher, the weather has been very rainy and dh is about to give me a very much needed gin and slimline tonic. There will also be a bottle of wine with tea and depending on how the evening goes it may turn into two Blush!

Hey, good idea as I am having a strict week too to kick start me back into it.
Today I had;
Breakfast - small portion of fruit'n'fibre, skimmed milk, black coffee
Snack - banana
lunch - couscous with chickpeas, cherry toms, spring onion (I have this loads but its so quick to do and I love it!)
Snack - diet yoghurt, 1 ryvita with low fat cheese spread
Dinner - not had yet but will have salmon with veg.
Exercise - 1 hr step class and 25min walk
Not bad, hey?

Mmmmm fish and chips by the coast.....there is nothing like it. Its not often so enjoy it!
(Besides, fish is good for you and I'm sure potatoes contain vit c too!)

lilibet · 20/05/2006 18:58

Hello

Breakfast was a toasted bagel and a banana
Lunch was a tin of low fat carrot and coriander soup and a whole grain roll filled with lowfat cream cheese and roated pepper

I'm going for an indian tonight so it's not going to be a good night

or rather I'm going for an indian tonight so it's going to be a fantastic night Grin

KBear · 21/05/2006 21:25

ooh, it's not going well - I'm okay until the weekend then I feel like I deserve treats! We had dinner with friends last night, they made lamb, slow-roasted served with couscous and feta and olives - delish. My contribution to the proceedings was a chocolate cake filled with fresh cream and iced with chocolate ganache. Only had a small bit though. Oh but I had four glasses of wine and a B52 shot!

All the salad in the world won't counteract that lot!

Back on track today but feel damage might be done for losing this week.

How y'all doing? Grin

You know that this diet is all about healthy eating?

Well................

Yes to start with I overdid the curry, the naan, the poppadoms, the bhajis and you get the picture.

and I really overdid the drink Blush

So next morning I got up late, had to go to church without breakfast, then straight after church I had to take ds1 to bowling, so had no lunch

And then what did I do at bowling?

Not sure I can confess Blush

I had more drink!!!! Grin

One of those 'it seemed a good idea at the time' things Wink

So by the time it was 4 in the afternoon, I had had nothing all day but alcohol

Norty Lilibet Grin

sorry!!

PSML - Rosemary would be horrified! ha ha I do think you have to live though and life isn't always easily measurable into calorific portions so a blow out now and then won't hurt and keeps you from going mad from being sensible zzzzzz

Kbear sweeps in full of joy at the loss of two whole pounds.

I thank you.

2lb!!! Envy

I have completely gone off the rails but am going to make a determined effort for a while by completely cutting out the booze for a week or so

Jahan · 24/05/2006 09:57

Well done Kbear!
I agree with you that you do have to live your life too.
There's no point in losing weight and feeling totally deprived and miserable about it. Just ensure you are good at least 80% of the time.
I have been doing quite well (I think!). I have upped my exercise and now go to classes regularly. We often go for family walks after dinner as we've now got long evenings, and I've tried to stick to a healthy, low GI diet.
I've got a friend coming over from abroad in early July who has not seen me since before I got pregnant (when I was a size 8-10!) so I am aiming for a good weight loss by then - at least a stone.
I've not weighed myself recently so I don't know if I've lost anything recently (I was too scared to since my mad binge!). I shall weigh myself at the end of the week and report back here!
Keep up the good work girls. You're all doing so well!

lilibet · 25/05/2006 19:33

We are definitley going quiter on here aren't we?
anyhow I lost 1/2 lb, which was wrong wrong wrong after the way I have eaten this week

so am very very Grin

Kbear, just in case you come on again, have a fabbo holiday, I hope the sun shines on you and the other bears and that all your fudges are lowfat!!

Give me a wave when you come near Wigan Smile

and I promise to try very very hard while you are away.

KBear · 25/05/2006 22:06

lilibet - well done on your 1/2lb! It helps, remember that.

I am stressed out with thinking about what I need to pack for this holiday so succumbed to a chocolate bar tonight! What the hell, I needed it to concentrate - ha ha.

I'll give you a wave as I head north and remember I will be back in two weeks and this thread had better be full of the joys of slimness!

Where are CG'smum and GNL?

Hello everyone

How;s the Bank Holiday weekend going? I'm not doing bad, have managed a bit on mystep but my knees are getting knackered! Does anyone know anything about those air pump type steppers?

charliegreensmum · 02/06/2006 12:10

Hi All

Am back from my hols to France, had a great time, ate and drank all I wanted to and didn't worry about the diet. Went and got weighed last night and had put on 2lbs in 2 weeks, but not worried as I got straight back on the diet when I got home and have got back to exercising etc., so I know the weight will come off.

How have you all done while I've been away?

lilibet · 02/06/2006 13:06

2lb in 2 weeks???

that is amazing!!

I expect a weight gain of half a stone in two weeks Envy

charliegreensmum · 02/06/2006 13:43

I was a little surprised myself! Some days we only had a light meal at lunch (crepe, omelette or salad) and then picked at cheeses and bread in the evenings, I wasn't drinking for all of the first week as I was on antibiotics and we did some particularly vigourous stair climbing at Mont St Michel (v recommended for a good day out).

Would also recommend Honfleur - great market on saturdays, nice place to eat at the old harbour and we went to Naturoscope there which is a tropical butterfly house- DS who is 13 months thought it was fantastic. Bayeux is also very nice and there was a fab beach at Houlgate, where we were staying - also a great brasserie there called Le Royale.

Did RC class last night and got a new aerobics DVD for this evening...

Glad you had a goon time, I'm off five weeks on Wednesday so should be putting a bit more effort in than I am Sad

Where's kbear? She should be back by now!

lilibet · 08/06/2006 11:24

Where is everyone?

I missed last week but really need to go tonight and stick with this as something happened last night that had me crying over my weight and that really isn't the way to be when you know that there is a solution.

charliegreensmum · 09/06/2006 07:58

Lilibet, did you go last night? How was it? Try to stay positive about your weight - at least you are doing something about it - there are thousands of people eating crap, not doing any exercise and just storing up their health problems for the future....

I had my class last night and ........lost 2 1/2 lbs Grin. Am v chuffed as have done loads of exercise in the last week and this has inspired me to continue - not sure how the diet will cope with two bbq's over the weekend though!!

CGMum

lilibet · 09/06/2006 09:47

I did go, I lost 1 1/2 lb, making a total of 13lb - hopefully next week it will be a stone.

It is just very very slow progress, but at least it is progress, I just catch sight of myself sometimes and despair. While I have been doing this I have not had one week when I have gained weight which is excellent.

My problem is drink, dh and I very often have a bottle of wine (or sometimes two) at night and then the will power goes, last night we finished off a bottle of white with tea (Rosie's spicy prawn pasta - excellent!) then opened a bottle of red, so late at night we were making more food, which I wouldn't have doen if I hadn't had the drink. I think the thing that is saving me at the moment is that with my snacks I'm sticking to the 5% rule.

Well done on the 2 1/2 lb Grin!! and good luck for the weekend!

charliegreensmum · 09/06/2006 12:38

I know what you mean about wine - I was getting into the habit of having a glass or two (or three) every evening to help me relax as I have quite a stressful job, at least during the summer. To tie in with RC I am trying to stop drinking alcohol during the week, as I do need to be on top form for work, but then not feeling guilty/bad about the bottle or two at the weekend. I've done this since I've been back from holiday and it's working so far, even when DH is glugging glasses in front of me. I think it's just a case of trying to get some balance and changing normal habits, which is v difficult to do.

1 1/2lbs is good weight loss - well done! Hope you have a good weekend too!!

Jahan · 09/06/2006 22:52

Well done you two!
I now weigh 10 stone and 7 lb.
I can't say how much I've lostin the past week or two as I've been up and down so many times but I do know that I weighed 11st 3.5 weeks ago.
I'm chuffed too.
I will stick this. I will!

KBear · 10/06/2006 16:22

woo hoo I'm back from sunny (yes sunny) Scotland! Had a fabulous time and great weather. Got back at midnight last night. Don't ask me about what I ate because you know the answer will be "everything". I am going to Rosemary's confession time on Tuesday for the outsome of two weeks of good food, bad food and lots of wine and fudge!
