Not a bad idea the way I am feeling!!

I said to dh this morning that I felt that I had had a 'bad' week, but when I thought back over what I had eaten compared with what I used to eat, it hasn't really been bad at all.

I have eaten a tub of olives, one or two chocolates out of a bag that someone bought me, I've had more wine than I shoudl have (so what else is new!!) and more food in general but stuck to the under 5% rule - seeded bagels with low fat cream cheese and roasted peppers have been eaten an awful lot.

It's as you said about it being a change of lifestyle. I used to get in from school and eat four or five slices of bread and butter adn I haven't done that now for 7 weeks Grin

lilibet · 11/05/2006 21:38

I lost 1/2!

in the heavy shoes so it's really 1 1/2 Grin

so that is 11lb in 7 weeks which is right on track for my target of 1 1/2 lb per week, and if I stick to that I will be another stone lighter by my hols Grin

Must try very hard on the exercise front this week - I need someone to be strict with me!

But at the momnet my step counter for today is reading 13687 [showing off emoticon]

if i keep that up I will soon not be a muffin top!

and bloody knackered with it!

KBear · 11/05/2006 21:43

Lil - you crack me up with your heavy shoes! Well done though!!!

So what extra exercise are you able to do? Do you work full-time? Could you swim at lunchtime or do another RC class?

I don't think I can fit in any more exercise (without sacrificing time with my kids!) - I swim with them on Sunday (me and mum or DH take turns to do some lengths), try to get to aqua aerobics on Monday (depends on DH's shifts), swim Tuesday and the RC class on Tuesday night. Then I work for the rest of the week and I'm fit for nothing in the evenings. (I am supposed to be ironing now but the pull of MN proved too much)!!

Hi

I work full time and DH is SAHD to my DS. I try to do some aerobics at lunchtimes during the week, I work on a uni campus so there are good sports facilities. At the w/end I do an aerobics video and we try to go for a long walk somewhere nice every Sunday. Have just bought the RC slim and salsacise dvd off ebay, so hoping that will inspire me to do a bit more. Am off on holiday on Wednesday and going to try to go swimming every day, and then keep up the swimming weekly once I get back.

Is obviously working as have lost another 1lb! Was a teensy bit disappointed but just need to get into a non kickstart frame of mind, where losing a pound a week is still good! (Have still lost 8 1/2lb in 3 weeks which I am v chuffed about).

Hope you're all getting on OK

I work 9 - 3 everday so that I can do school runs but I only get a 30 minute lunch so don't have a great deal of time there. At the moment dh is in his (hopefully!) last year of studying to become an accountant, and when he isn't studying at night I'm doing an OU degree, as well as that we have boys brigade, football and now ds2 is taking up rugby, I also go and visit any families who have decided to have their babies baptised and explain the commitment to them, so it's a bit of a packed schedule chez moi! And apart from Thursdays when the boys are with their dad I feel bad that if I go out at night dh can't get in any proper work and exams are looming for him.

I try and do 15 minutes on my step every morning (pause for hysterical laughter - I think I've done it twice this week!) and have my trusty pedometer, keep promising to take the boys swimming one night a week, but I'm not the strongest swimmer so it wouldn't really be a good form of exercise for me.

I will do my step every morning and build up my time

Well done CGM!!

8 1/2 in 3 weeks is really good going Grin

lilibet · 14/05/2006 09:43

Where is everyone?

charliegreensmum · 14/05/2006 13:36

Hi lilibet

Not posted for a few days as was feeling v dodgy on Thurs. Woke on Fri with glands in my neck the size of table tennis balls, seen the doc and she suspects glandular fever but I was too much of a wimp to have the blood test done to confirm it. Am now on strong antibiotics and painkillers to try and calm it all down before we go to France on Wed for two weeks. DH is now showing symptoms as well... Needless to say the exercise regime has gone to pot, as has much of the diet - most of the time I don't feel like eating as it hurts too much and I don't have any appetite. Am trying to stick to low fat as much as poss though.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

lilibet · 15/05/2006 16:09

oh you poor thing.

Where in France are you going? We're off there in 8 weeks Grin

Has everyone else deserted us?

charliegreensmum · 16/05/2006 10:59

We're going to the Loire for a week and then to Normandy. My parents are meeting us in Normandy so will have baby-sitters! Am trying to pack at the moment but there's so much stuff for 1 yo DS. Have sent DH out to get a roof box!

KBear · 16/05/2006 12:44

Haven't deserted you - been working and spent all weekend straightening out this house!

So, I went swimming yesterday and today. Been sensible foodwise (mostly!). Still losing inches - 19" now all over. Shall I give you a run down for a bit of motivation????

14 March - 11st 9lbs
Bust 39", Waist 38", Hips 42.5", Thigh 26" above knee 18.5", upper arms 12".

09 May - 10st 12lbs
Bust 37.5", Waist 32", Hips 40.5", Thigh 24", above knees 17", upper arms 10.5"

Check out the waist measurement! I was bloated the whole time and changing my diet has changed that. I am so happy. I feel great, my clothes fit, people have commented on the difference.

Must not eat Orkney fudge on holiday next week!!!!

Weigh in tonight - I'll report in!

lilibet · 16/05/2006 17:32

Kbear that is fantastic - I haven't measured for a bit, may go and do it before tea.

but I have just eaten a bag of crisps Blush Sad, there where just there, and they were open and I thought that I would just have one but my hand kept finding it's way back into the bag and before I knew it there were only a few crumbs left Sad Blush

Feel a bit sick now Envy (I know it's supposed to be for envy but it's me feeling a bit urgh!)

Where is the Loire are you going, we've been there a few times - I think it is so gorgeous,. If you're anywhere near Blois, the Maison de Magique is really good for the children for a rainy day.

this year we are starting in Paris for a few days, movign onto Brittany for 10 days then haivng a few days in Normandy, near St Valery. I have only ever stopped over in Normandy before but always really liked it so thought that we would try it for a bit longer. Have you been before? Can you recommend anywhere to go?

KBear · 16/05/2006 21:11

I hope none of you are here tonight so I can whizz in, tell you I put on a pound and run off again.

All I can say is there is no justice. I swam (fast) for over an hour today. What is that all about then, putting ON a pound?

Never mind - I'm not doing too good this week, all my enthusiasm seems to be waning. I need a good kick up the backside.

When are the holidays? Are you away from Saturday?

I tried a pair of trousers on at weekend that I think I last wore for my hen night which was last February, and I really thought that they would fit, but they didn't and that depressed me because I was feeling that I had acheived a lot, but obvioulsy not doing as well as I thought.

I will measure myself tonight and hope for a bit of a boost

Hi lilibet, don't give up now. Summer's coming and you'll feel great. Here have a huge kick up the bum from me! Measuring helps me because although I put on that damn pound I lost another inch. I did feel like stuffing my face last night in childish rebellion but who am I rebelling against? Myself! So, back on track today.

Just been and got contact lenses so am reeling with shock of being able to see!! Feels weird, I've had glasses all my life. Off to find some gorgeous sunnies later.

I have kept a low profile as have not been doing too well. I keep eating and I've figured out that its to do with tiredness. I have had such a busy week and ds has been waking at nights and finding it hard to fall asleep while its light so I have been reaching for those 'quick fixes' to give myself some energy.
Its a vicious circle as I know that when I was eating healthily I had way more energy. When you eat junk, it just makes you more tired later.
I am sorting myself out!
You are all doing so well so don't give in!

KBear · 17/05/2006 19:17

Lil - forgot to say, I'm away from 26th May. I am going to relax the plan a little when I'm away but not eat between meals if I can help it! Don't want to undo all my hard work.

Jahan, I know what you mean about the tiredness. I've had a headache for a couple of days and succumbed to a couple of bourbon biscuits with my coffee this afternoon to wash down my painkillers! Felt like I needed the sugar. Chicken salad for dinner though so redeeming myself there!

OP posts:
lilibet · 18/05/2006 19:01

I stayed the same, not sure if it's a Sad or a Smile with the way I have been eating this week.

So, I think that a super strict week is in order. I'm going to post everything that I eat and drink until next Thursday and all my exercise (that won't take long!)

Does anyone fancy joining me?

I am out for a curry on Saturday tho' and I'm afraid that I really can't say no to popadoms and chutneys

Kbear, you are very very good if oyu control your eating on holiday, I know tht I won't be able to!

KBear · 18/05/2006 20:32

I'm saying i will lilibet but when I get there and the smell of fish and chips by the harbour overwhelms me I can't say I won't give in. I just won't eat the usual ton of fudge and shortbread etc that me and my friend consume throughout the day usually! I would be devastated to come back only to start again.

I'm having a strict week too (after this bottle of wine is finished!!Grin

OP posts:
KBear · 19/05/2006 12:01

So what's everyone eating today?

I had porridge for breakfast.
Grapes and an apple mid morning

I'm going to have a prawn salad sandwich on multigrain bread, no butter, tiny bit of mayo for lunch. And probably a muller yog. Bit dull but am at work (sssssh).

Dinner - tricky cos I don't do dinner on Fridays (terrible wife and mother!). I don't get in until 7, DH goes for a pint and the kids eat early so will probably turn out to be pea and ham soup and a roll.

And a glass of wine (Friday and all that! As if an excuse were needed!!!).

Lilibet - where are you????
