stealth I'm so sorry re: your Grandad Sad . You take a good outlook to it all though, and at least you had time to say anything you needed/wanted to to him

I think I've found the trick of losing weight - don't sleep!! DD was up most of last night - I am shattered. I weighed myself this morning and I am 2 lbs lighter than a few days ago, my lightest weight yet since trying to lose weight. Don't think this can be sustained in the long term though and hoping tiredness won't cause massive food consumption Confused

KatoPotato · 08/09/2012 09:44

Happy Saturday everybody! I'm so sorry about your papa stealth but agree a positive attitude towards the situation will help make everything a tiny bit more bearable!

Spin this morning! Why?!?!

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/09/2012 09:55

Stealth I hope you are ok today and you and your family are taking comfort from each other.

eightytwenty sea swimming in Scotland! Are you mad?! I hope you had a wet suit.

reastie I'm not sure lack of sleep has been promoted as a weightloss tool before. If it really worked I'd be a size 8 by now. Grin

Well I had the pizza with a hole in last night and followed it up with a coffee that comes with half a pudding. I do not want to think how many calories there were in it.

Coming up i have a party today for my brother, my tenth wedding anniversary and the latest mnet Manchester meet up. Do you ever feel things are conspiring against your weightloss?

nochipsthanks · 08/09/2012 11:01

So sorry for your loss, Stealth.

Hope everyone is well.

I am back to WW counting- have put on 4 pounds since Monday with my fruit and veg overload, and feel dreadful.

Today - breakfast- ryvita and tomatos and egg
lunch- coronation chicken made with creme fraiche wrapped in lettuce leaves.
dinner - butternut squash stuffed with spicy lamb mince and veg from the latest WW magazine
gin and slims.

MrsPnut · 08/09/2012 12:01

Stealth - my thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm rubbish at the moment, drank a bucket of wine last night and had some crisps after my virtuous dinner of fish and salad.
I'm feeling a bit ropy this morning so after we dropped DD2 off at beaver camp we went out for breakfast and I had french toast, hash browns, bacon and sausage. :o

KatoPotato · 08/09/2012 12:03

Crisps after a virtuous dinner is better than crisps after a terrible dinner! And this used to be every Friday night for me!

InMySpareTime · 08/09/2012 22:04

Evening all, today was a good day exercise-wise (1400 cals burned) spent all day making the den roof watertight, made the back wall and a back door, and clad the side wall.
Not such a good day food-wise, as I had chicken pie, apple pie, golden syrup cake and 2 glasses of wine.
My saving grace is that the cake was from last Monday, and has been sitting, opened, in the cupboard since then. I had one slice on Tuesday and another tonight. The rest was shared between DH and DD.
I could have eaten that cake in one sitting, but I chose not to, also the pies, I gave myself smaller portions than DH and filled my plate with salad/fruit (dependent on which pie), and didn't feel I was missing out.
Overall, a "swings and roundabouts" day, tomorrow I'm putting windows on the den and building the floor, hopefully getting the front wall and gutter on before it rains.

marriedinwhite · 09/09/2012 00:39

Well, I think I have lost over a stone now. I felt good this morning then I tried on a dress and a posh skirt and top in Phase 8 and they made me feel fat, frumpy and middle aged and very very sad.

fivegomadindorset · 09/09/2012 07:13

Happy Sunday everyone.

I am feeling very pleased with myself as I have managed to stay 17.13 for three mornings now, I am hoping that I can shift it down again this week. We are going out though for a very nice lunch, but some reigning in will help. Last week I did two fruit only in the day and that seemed to help so may do that again this week at work.

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/09/2012 07:46

Morning all.

IMST I can't wait to see the den. You'll have to have a den warming party.

married don't feel down. It's great that you've lost over a stone. I'm Envy

fivego well done. I don't think I could eat nothing but fruit. I would love to though. I hope you enjoy your lunch.

Yesterday wasn't as bad as it could have been. I was driving so I only had one glass of wine from 1.30 until 7.30. I also missed the food because my dad needed a lift to the wine shop in the middle of the party and I had to collect my dd from dancing. It was mostly gone when I got back.

InMySpareTime · 09/09/2012 07:58

Well done Hair on your party survival,
As for a den warming, I was planning on having a house party in October anyway, slightly for DH's birthday, largely as an excuse to get all my disparate friends round as I haven't see some of them for an embarrassingly long timeBlush.
The den will certainly be most of the way to finished by tonight, I may put pictures on my profile if I have enough energy to type.

fivegomadindorset · 09/09/2012 08:01

Well done hair

I like the sound of a den warmimgn IMST

sleepychunky · 09/09/2012 09:10

Morning everybody, I'm back! Had the most fantastic time at the wedding - the weather was amazing, the venue was gorgeous and everything went really well.
It was really nice to spend the day without worrying about looking after the DCs and they were absolutely fine with their GPs/auntie so everything is good.
And it wasn't a diet disaster either - I had loads of veg with the meal, and when it came to drinks I stuck to either white wine or G&T, and I had a glass of water or lemonade in between each alcoholic drink. Weighed myself this morning and I'm the same as I was on Friday morning so it appears that any disasters have been averted Smile
We've got a family BBQ today for DH's gran's 92nd birthday, so I will be avoiding burgers and sausages and going for chicken and salad. Looking forward to it!
Hope you all have great days and enjoy the sunshine x

KatoPotato · 09/09/2012 12:52

Hey everyone. Today was scheduled to be second fast day but we found out my uncle passed away last night so a combination of no sleep and worry and upset has blown breakfast (a tunnocks teacake)

Going to see my mum and nana this afternoon which I'm dreading and I suppose i need to eat too, dont want to be feeling faint when I'm supposed to be supporting my family.

The official line is that he had liver cancer but unfortunately we're all too aware he was a chronic alcoholic who's left behind a wife and three boys. It's utterly tragic and although he was put on the Liverpool pathway last week it's still a shocker.

Gosh sorry for more bad news but have no other platform at this stage!

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/09/2012 14:12

Sorry to hear your news Kato. I hope you and your family pull together ok.

fivegomadindorset · 09/09/2012 16:31

Kato so sorry to hear about your uncle, alcoholism is crap, I hope someone is able to support you.

InMySpareTime · 09/09/2012 17:13

Sorry about your uncle, Kato , I hope you and your family (and his family) get the support you need at this time.
We spent all afternoon building the side of the den and painting it (sage green, it looks fabGrin), then my neighbour (yes Hair , that one) came into the garden and told DH we'd have to pull the "party wall" side down as it invaded his privacy.
The fence between the gardens is 4ft high, and when he was talking to DH he wasn't even wearing a top! He had watched us working all day, and waited until 5pm to inform us of his precious "privacy".
There is actually less view of their garden now we've put the den in, and we cleared it all with his DW before we started work. I am so Angry, but I don't know whether I'm shaky from hunger or anger right now.

sleepychunky · 09/09/2012 18:16

Kato so sorry to hear the news. I hope that your afternoon hasn't been too difficult and that your family can all support each other.

IMST that's a load of bollocks from your neighbour. What a twunt. I hope that you can get it sorted - surely there isn't much he can do if you cleared it all with his DW first.

I've had a nice day at the family BBQ but unfortunately ate more than I meant to. Will try and log it all on MFP but am worried at what it will say. Nothing else for me to eat today though

StealthPolarBear · 09/09/2012 19:27

So sorry Kato xx

BonkeyMollocks · 09/09/2012 19:34

Kato sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you and your family x

InMySpareTime · 09/09/2012 19:41

We've decided to move the "offending" den wall 2 inches in and reinstate the manky half-rotten fence panel.
Neighbour is now blustering that he wants to replace the 4ft panels with 6ft panels as his "privacy is being invaded". This gem now has DH angry too. He will talk to the neighbours together and offer to pay half if they replace with 4ft, nothing if they go to 6ft, and to advise them that for big panels they'd have to replace the concrete posts and move the fence to the actual boundary line at their own expense.
Bring it on! I'm finished beingAngry, moved on to militantly determinedGrin.
A good eating day today, risotto for lunch, pasta with sauce for dinner, given all the den work I was in negative calories.

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/09/2012 19:42

IMST yes he's a twunt. Haven't spoken to my dh yet but I know that legally he hasn't got a leg to stand on. Oh and I had a look out of dd's window and it looks fab btw.

sleepy glad you had a good time. Sometimes it's worth it. :)

I went to a BBQ too and was doing really well til the cheese cake came out. Blush I really must try to get a handle on this.

fivegomadindorset · 09/09/2012 20:24

Well lunch was delicious and very portion controlled (enough food but left without feeling disgustingly bloated) a lot of money but worth it to say thank you. It was a lovely day and while I was expecting G&T's on the terrace and coffee afterwards looking down over the lawn to the river, we had lunch out there.

InMySpareTime · 10/09/2012 06:45

Good morning everyoneSmile,
Back to Motivational Monday I think, try to put last week behind us and focus on the future. Those weighing today, good luck.

reastie · 10/09/2012 08:01

kato I'm so sorry Sad . How are you this morning? Hope everything went as well as it could have yesterday with your family

IMST how blinking annoying re: the neighbour. I am extremely nosy and am desperate to see a piccie of this amazing den if you fancy putting one up please Grin

five meal sounds delish

Well, my theory on no sleep making you lose weight is over - next day I had put on 4 lbs from the day before Shock - ny weight is just all over the place! I've also been really hungry from lack of sleep - 2 nights up most of the night and last night up half the night - turns out I have a teething and cold filled toddler Confused
