Morning everyone, well I've just weighed myself and its saying 11.9, don't think I would have lost 3lb in 3 days but it's certainly made me feel better and may have found a hint of motivation, going to see if I can keep it that way til Monday when it will be official, can't get on here much today so hope everyone's mideek weigh in gods well

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2012 07:38

:o
I don't think the weight comes off gradually, for ages it sticks then jumps down, hopefully thats whats happened.
I am 11st12 as of last night. Which is OK but no loss I don' think

reastie · 06/09/2012 07:41

stealth so sorry re: you Grandad. It is very frustrating when you have a very active grandparent who is isn't 'old' in themselves IYKWIM and they are treated like an old person

Well, despite being 1lb heavier yesterday and eating loads and feeling rubbish today I've lost over a lb from yesterday Shock so feeling a little more positive

TheOneWithTheHair · 06/09/2012 07:55

Stealth I'm sorry about your grandad. It is awful when they show their age suddenly.

I don't know how you daily weighers can stand it. It works ok if you lose but those little gains would drive me mad. I'm sticking with Mondays so I get a good kick of motivation to start the week. Was a good day calorie wise yesterday so I'm hoping for the same today.

nochipsthanks · 06/09/2012 10:19

Morning all.

have continued my massive overloading of vegetables with the -ahem- inevitable results. Good things I am working from home today!

Stealth I am sorry about your grandad. It is most frustrating when medical people treat the age rather than the person.

I am also going to resist weighing daily. I have put on 2 pounds since Monday- despite the vegetables and their clearing properties!

MilkshakeMaker · 06/09/2012 12:45

I dont weigh every day, just mondays and thursdays. Mondays are offical and what counts and thursdays are a mid week check to keep me on track over the weekend, so if I'm not doing so well I know to work harder and if I'm doing good it puts me off having treats etc as I dont want to ruin it.

I'm struggling a bit today though, I'm not hungry but I could kill for a iced doughnut/jam roly poly and custard/ anything else thats loaded with sugary crap. HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THIS FEELING????!!!!

InMySpareTime · 06/09/2012 12:50

Sugar free jelly, or an apple. Both taste sweet without the "sugar roller-coaster" effect, and the apple takes ages to eat if you try to eat it as close to the core as possibleGrin.

reastie · 06/09/2012 12:53

milkshake the only way I get over that feeling is to either tell myself if I still really want it in an hours time then I can have it (and often in an hour I don't fancy it nearly so much but the fact I've told myself at the time of wanting it I can have it later helps at the time. Or I have a low calorie hot choc - one of thos 40 kcal jobbies. Give me a sugar hit that really helps my cravings.

I weight every day Blush but I don't take it seriously, it's helpful for me to see a general pattern in how I'm going and keeps me motivated - every day I look at my weight and I feel good that I've lost over 2 stone now but look at all the weight I still have to lose. I can see how it might get obsessional but for me it's just a daily reminder of wanting to stay on track. It means rather than having a specific weekly weigh in I more look at patterns in general for my weight.

reastie · 06/09/2012 12:54

xposted IMST sugar free jelly is a good one - I've ordered some vege gel today (DH and I are veggie) in the weekly shopping to make some fruit jelly and I'm going to stick some fresh berries in it.

KatoPotato · 06/09/2012 14:22

Well it's nearly half two on my first 'fast day' had 190 so far and feeling okay! I'm not sure how this is going to affect my Friday Weighin and if there's a loss I'm not sure whether I can attribute it to that yet? Need to keep it up and see!

I'm so sorry about what you're going through stealth lots of love to you.

MilkshakeMaker · 06/09/2012 15:56

I sort of failed, I had half of ds' kinder beuno(however its spelt) but on the plus it was only 132cal which i think is quite forgivable??

InMySpareTime · 06/09/2012 17:02

I've made quorn balti for dinner, it smells delicious (I'm drooling a bit).
Still well under despite an ice lolly after school, as I ate only the recommended portion of granola (50g, I used to eat 200gBlush).
I need to sew name labels in DD's uniform tonight, which should keep my mind off food while DH is out.

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2012 18:41

Definitely Milkshake :)
Glad we all seem to ahve our motivation back somewhat. I am in a strange positionm for the first time ever where I'm almost exactly on calories, almost on protein but low on fat and carbs. If I'm on calories those always seem way over! So today feels like a very good day

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2012 18:42

remind me what a balti is? I might have to give that a go

InMySpareTime · 06/09/2012 19:21

I used patak balti paste, balti is a medium spicy curry, good for using up random veg or the last pickings off a roast joint.

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2012 19:25

Might trythat :) don't like the coconutty or raisiny ones

InMySpareTime · 06/09/2012 19:31

It has neither, I add tinned tomatoes and lentils, I usually put coconut in as DS is milk allergic, you could use light soft cheese or natural yoghurt if you need to mitigate the spice for DCs.
You only need a couple of spoonfuls for a meal, DO NOT use the whole jar or you'll blow everyone's heads off!

KatoPotato · 06/09/2012 20:21

I've done it! (so far!) bit scared of how easy it's been, and as I have ED tendencies I'm trying to stay as public as possible!

Going to see how Sunday goes as a fast day... Weekends are food danger zone for me! Rumour has it MIL is dishing up chicken Kiev tomo and im sure that'll make MFP explode!

Hope everyone's well! X

fivegomadindorset · 06/09/2012 20:36

Evening all.

Stealth sorry about your Grandad, agree that they need to treat the person and not the age.

Well done Kato, still not sure I could do it. I will be thinking of you while I am sitting down t my delicious 3 course Sunday lunch at a very nice hotel on Sunday as we are taking my parents out to lunch to say thank you for having DC's over the holidays.

Weirdly over the last two days I have been having a lunch consisting of fruit with the obvious effects and eating a balanced meal in the evening, have not been wanting anything else, will see what I feel like tomorrow.

I am a weigh everyday person I am afraid.

On a lighter note, DS had his first day at school today and was very proud he didn't hit anyone.

TheOneWithTheHair · 06/09/2012 20:44

Grin @ fivegomad. Did you think he might?

fivegomadindorset · 06/09/2012 21:10

I just told him to be good, we obviously have different visions of being good Grin

sleepychunky · 06/09/2012 21:41

Hi everyone, probably won't be checking in again until Saturday night so thought I'd post a quick message.
The atmosphere is a lot more positive here than it was a couple of days ago - everybody seems to have got over the blips

I'm getting excited about tomorrow's wedding now - DH is out with the groom for his last night of "freedom". We're staying at the hotel tomorrow night so will have a child-free night for the first time in ages - can't wait!
I'm not doing any counting tomorrow but will try not to overdo it, although I might accidentally get caught up in the heat of the moment and have a bit too much wine. I promise to check back in on either Saturday night or Sunday morning, but I probably won't weigh myself until Monday to give things a chance to settle down.
Hope you all have fantastic Fridays!

fivegomadindorset · 06/09/2012 21:43

I hope you have a Fantastic Friday sleepychunky, enjoy the wedding guilt free.

KatoPotato · 06/09/2012 22:09

As a group we're Officially giving you Friday off sleepy enjoy yourself and enjoy looking good! Cos you know you're looking good!

I've been taking my mind off the Cheetos and peanut butter m&ms in the kitchen by practising 'engaging my core' without farting! Joking aside I'm dangerous at my classes!!

MrsPnut · 07/09/2012 07:34

Hope you have a great time at the wedding Sleepy.

Morning people, I weighed myself this morning and have put on 3lb since monday. My drinking and nibbling have caught up with me and I need to go back to bootcamp.

I am determined to exercise this week and might restart Zumba too.
