I've got a Thai green quorn curry bubbling away, and enough spare calories for a glass of wine laterSmile. I've done half an hour on the wii (which said I put 1lb on, I'm blaming TOTM). I'm trying to keep my base food cals down, which should be easier now I'm not eating out (parents go home in the morning).

janflan · 27/08/2012 18:20

Haven't been for a walk because Ds2 fell asleep instead. He's still asleep now which isn't good because at 6 day time napping only usually happens when he's coming down with something.

I made tuna pasta for tea and had some fruit earlier for a snack. Depending on when Ds wakes up and what mood he's in we may still go for a walk. If not it'll be the wii or an exercise dvd.

I like the sound of that Thai Green Curry IMST, do you have a recipe?

InMySpareTime · 27/08/2012 18:24

Loyd grossman jar sauce, quorn chicken style pieces, steamed broccoli and sweet potato. A bit of a cheat, but yummy nonetheless.

reastie · 27/08/2012 19:03

I had tomato soup and millet bread for dinner Hmm . I'm still 200 kcals in the green, which is unheard of Shock . Remember I put on 4 lbs in 3 days? Well, it's gone again! Must've just been water whoever thought that.

TheOneWithTheHair · 27/08/2012 19:52

Told you it was a false reading. You're doing really well.

I like the sound of that curry too IMST. Thanks for having dd this afternoon by the way. She did originally come over to ask your dd here.

Is quorn lower fat than chicken?

InMySpareTime · 27/08/2012 20:01

50g of quorn (plenty in the curry, I am still full after 2 hours) was 57 calories. The main draw is that it's often on offer, and au can cook it from frozen so it's good when I forgot to defrost anything.

LollipopViolet · 27/08/2012 20:12

Hello everyone :)

I've been to the gym today and had a nice healthy lunch and dinner. I forgot to weigh this morning so will do so tomorrow :)

InMySpareTime · 27/08/2012 20:12

My DCs were baking so DD didn't want to go out in case DS ate it allGrin. They seemed to be having some kind of concert, there was music and a stage (some blanket "curtains" hung from DS's loft bed)

sagelynodding · 27/08/2012 23:17

Hi everyone :)

Just getting back on the wagon so to speak... I have been something of a hermit all summer, but in the last week or so have been out for dinner 3 times and had a pizza night (wine night) tonight

Not looking forward to the scales tomorrow :(

On the plus side, I am fitting into my size 12 skirts and shorts for the first time in over 2 years

InMySpareTime · 28/08/2012 06:49

Good morningSmile
I have a few days where I am in charge of food before PILs visit on Friday, I really need to focus to undo last weekend's meals out and mitigate this weekend'sBlush.
I'm sure that for all our visitors it's a treat eating out, it's just when we have several sets of visitors I start to miss proper foodConfused.
Roll on term time, when I won't have to prepare snacks every couple of hours, and rein the DCs in while keeping grown ups engaged.

TheOneWithTheHair · 28/08/2012 08:56

Good morning everyone. Well I'm a bit Shock this morning. I finally bit the bullet and weighed after my holiday. I have lost 1lb! Don't know how. It must be the swimming.

I am now back to 11st 8lbs. Well just under but I've rounded up. I'm really pleased because my holiday eating/drinking was awful and I thought I would have put on loads.

My next target is to get under 11.5 stone and then down to 11. Should be easier when the dcs go back to school. :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 28/08/2012 08:58

By the way, wasn't Stealth one of those who said she'd be back on Tuesday? Time to climb back on the wagon Stealth!

BonkeyMollocks · 28/08/2012 09:03

Morning .

Went over cals yesterday because somehow i managed to snaffle a pizza Blush

Try very very hard Tuesday for me today.

I only need one really good day and i will get back in the zone!

littlemissstan · 28/08/2012 09:04

Hello all, hope you had suitably good Bank Holidays. I managed to stick to some of my resolutions - no cider, no cocktails, but A LOT of my 'sensible drinks', which did lead to late night chips with garlic sauce... But, was back at the gym at 6.30 this morning and just had my Weetabix and skimmed milk for breakfast. I think you are all helping me to get back on the wagon straight away after a heavy weekend, whereas before I would use it as an excuse to carry on eating as I'd already 'ruined' it. So, Thanks for everyone :)

nochipsthanks · 28/08/2012 10:04

Morning all.
poo and chips. Tasty!
I have decided to abandon WW and points counting again and return to my eating half portions for another week. i feel more able to do that consistently, whereas I get depressed when I see myself going over points on a daily basis.
So, will do that until next week and reassess if i give up WW altogether.

PooPooOnMars · 28/08/2012 10:06

Nochips. I found ww depressing too. I find mfp much easier and make eating smaller portions part of that.

nochipsthanks · 28/08/2012 10:10

I keep meaning to try mfp. Will take a look at it.

I find it interesting that my best weightlosses have been when i have not done WW. And I rediscover my joy in food too! I just think 'eat half portions, but make sure there is alot of veg in there' and then do not think about it again. So far it works, but I will give it another week and see.

PooPooOnMars · 28/08/2012 10:17

Nochips. That's great that that works for you. That how i plan my dinners too. I eat loads of veg anyway so its just reducing the other stuff.

I find that mfp works better for me than not counting because i don't have much to lose (a stubborn 11lb) so it is harder to get off. Im only on 1200 calories a day! So a few slightly too big dinners or a few too many snacks and nothing happens!

I went on like that for weeks on ww with no weight coming off and i got really disheartened with it and gave up.

janflan · 28/08/2012 10:22

I'm doing well to have done a full day. Usually i last till lunch time! Didn't get any exercise after because once ds woke up he didn't go back to sleep for ages.

Am going out for lunch today and I'm going to have something different to the usual massive bacon, brie and cranbury sauce baguette with chips. To be fair due to the size of the thing i usually share a portion of chips with my sister.

I wouldn't mind walking to the pub it's about 2 miles away but will take about an hour as opposed to 5 mins in the car. I've got a lot to do this morning so i will see what time we're left with.

I did have a sneaky weigh this morning and it said I'd lost 2lbs but I'm not taking that as gospel because i know your weight can fluctuate day to day. If i weigh tomorrow and it says I've put it back on I'll cry. So I'm not going to do that again until Monday now.

slothprincess · 28/08/2012 10:24

I'm back girls!!! And hello newbies that have joined in my absence.

I've been AWOL, eating crap for a bit. But I'm back and ready to get back on it. I know I've piled on the pounds but haven't got the confidence to step back on the scales yet. I've got 3 weeks before my mat leave is up and I go back to work so I want lose a few pounds before then. I'm also cutting down my daytime breastfeeds so I can't get away with eating over my MFP allowance quite so merrily.

Hope I haven't missed anything dramatic?

PooPooOnMars · 28/08/2012 10:44

Janflan. I automatically ask for salad instead of chips whenever Im out.

TheOneWithTheHair · 28/08/2012 11:05

Welcome back on the wagon sloth. I don't think anything dramatic has happened but I wouldn't be surprised if I missed it. Grin

Has anyone seen Milkshake around?

Oblomov · 28/08/2012 11:19

Wondered if I could sneak back in. Shouldn't really be here, to be honest. But I know not what to do. I seem unable to diet or get motivated. Have been seriously pigging out since i last posted, 3 weeks or so ago.
I have been seriously miserable. By closest friend 'dumped me' - insulted my dh highly, said terrible things to be, her ds doesn't want to be best-friends with my ds anymore. All pretty awful.
Hence I have been drinking like a fish and eating as much as I can , including 48 packets of crisps and 24 jacobs mint clubs.
I have not put any weight on. (still 10 st 11 today, as ALWAYS) which is odd. But i seem incapable of losing any.

slothprincess · 28/08/2012 11:24

Thank you TOWTH!

Oblomov, that does sounds awful :( Hope you're ok. I've been pigging out too. You are amongst friends here.

PooPooOnMars · 28/08/2012 11:25
