Hi all, can I come over here and not get a battering? I started a thread in AIBU and with hindsight I should have just kept it to myself. On the bright side, it's the longest thread I've ever started.
On the food front I am under calories by a mile today but may have to open the bottle of pinot in the fridge to feel better Sad

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 20:59

Ooh sleepy. :( what was the thread?

KatoPotato · 23/08/2012 21:00

Sleepy, YWNBU.

I have a 2.8 DS2... January boy?

sleepychunky · 23/08/2012 21:06

kato actually he's the last day of November, so a bit more than 2.8 but close enough.
I've hidden the thread now but just feel Sad that so many people think IWBU when it was never my intention to be rude. Anyway, what's done is done.

KatoPotato · 23/08/2012 22:08

Gosh I'm crap at month maths! Well done on being under food calories anyway! But have a wine if you fancy and try to enjoy your evening. YWNBU x

InMySpareTime · 24/08/2012 07:21

Good morningSmile,
Who fancies a good food Friday ?
I'm making an effort to avoid food that has calories without nutrition. If I'm going to consume something, it will be something worth it. Bad habits have been creeping back in, so I'm going back to basics.
I have my parents visiting this weekend, and they eat all kinds of crap make consistently poor food choices. I will try to plan our food so the foods I offer are healthy, delicious and meet everyone's dietary requirements (no mean feat, dairy free, pescatarian, vegetarian, low calorie)

StealthPolarBear · 24/08/2012 07:26

ooh that's a good idea, I'm storing these up for Tuesday. Sort of "be kind to your body" style. Also the one about thinking about the bloatedness and the guilt before I binge!
I have weighed myself - 12s2. Not good but not as bad as I feared. After this weekend - which will involve eating and drinking but also walking and swimming, I'm going to lose aim to lose 4lb in a week, to take me back to just under where I'd got to.
Good luck everyone, see you on Tuesday where I'll need some serious kicks up thebum!

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/08/2012 08:08

Morning all. Dh out again all day and evening so eating little will be easy. My db and his family are due from Melbourne today and I haven't seen them for two years. I haven't even met my new niece yet. I am so excited.

I don't know what the next 3 weeks will hold food wise but I suspect a few meals out. I am going to to make a big effort to watch what I'm eating.

Have a good weekend Stealth. We'll give you a leg-up on Tuesday if you need it.

marriedinwhite · 24/08/2012 08:17

Hardly ate anything yesterday: lunch was a yoghurt and grapes and dinner 1/2 an avocado and dd's left over pizza crust. But managed to go over points and tot up 29 because I washed it down with half a bottle of champagne!! Still - 2.5lb down since Monday. Can easily whack that back on over a weekend although dh and ds are away this w/e.

tumbletumble · 24/08/2012 08:57

Hi all, just checking in. This week has not gone well - I find the school holidays really hard! Will come back to this thread when I am ready to make a proper go of it. Good luck for the weekend everyone.

BonkeyMollocks · 24/08/2012 09:50

Morning,
I don't know whats wrong with me, can't stop bloody eating Blush .

I am going to get back on it today. i haven't logged anything in MFP so that is the first aim! Log everything and then it forces me to look at how bad it is!

I have a busy day today so hopefully that should stop me picking too!

Will catch up and confess later :)

InMySpareTime · 24/08/2012 10:06

So much for good intentions. I have a cold, my joints and muscles are aching. I need to go to the greengrocers today, but the 5 minute walk seems so far, I might send DS with a list and a bag. Today will not be a good exercise day, as I am getting dizzy spells upon standing.

LollipopViolet · 24/08/2012 10:45

Morning all!

I'm having an OK day, not eaten yet! REALLY need to be on my best eating/exercise behavior next week with the wedding just over a week away and my holiday 2 weeks away exactly. I'm now off to get a head start on the accounting bits of my course - I have a feeling it might not sink in without some extra reading!

RightBuggerforit · 24/08/2012 12:19

Hello, I'm a total lurker on here (because I'm on the 5:2 thread and don't want to double post), but I thought I'd announce myself and say hi! I've been following your thread for a few weeks now (hence saying hi - I was starting to feel a bit stalkery!) you lot really motivate me, I love your attitude and determination to keep going, even after falling of the wagon. That's one reason why I like the alternate day thing - means I can have a bad day without having that 'oh I've done it now anyway, pass the bloody cake' excuse to ruin the whole diet!

Sleepy, I saw your question in aibu and seriously don't worry about what people say. Some people have absolutely no idea how it is when you have a little ones that NEED their routine to sleep - lucky them.

Anyway, good luck everyone! Xx

InMySpareTime · 24/08/2012 15:07

A morning's rest has helped, I feel a bit better now. I made salad with sausage and homous for lunch, everyone liked it.
No snacks for me loads for the DCs but I haven't thought about dinner yet.

KatoPotato · 24/08/2012 15:16

Hi Rightbugger How are you finding the 5:2 diet? I am intrigued and when I hit my inevitable plateau I might give it a try?

We are a keen mob, bless us, and yes there's a fair few bumped heads from wagon falling but there's always a seat being patted to get back on!

Had a Morrisons Chilli Bean cuppasoup for lunch that made my face sweat! Strangely nice feeling it was too!

Hope you feel better soon Inmy

RightBuggerforit · 24/08/2012 16:31

5:2 is fab, I recommend it! I'm doing more of a 4:3 though, trying to speed up the process. Lost about 8 lbs in the first 2 weeks. I get hungry and knackered on fast days, but I get through because I only have to manage without cheating until the following day and then I can have a bit of whatever I want. It suits my greedy/lazy nature, haha!

InMySpareTime · 24/08/2012 17:29

Pasta bake for dinner, beer in the fridge, and still under for today.
I keep thinking I'm better then getting up and realising I'm notSad.
I'll have a nice hot bath tonight and be all better tomorrow.

sleepychunky · 25/08/2012 06:32

Morning everyone - how are you IMST today? Hope you are feeling better.

I am going shopping today for an outfit to wear to our best friends' wedding in 2 weeks' time. DH is best man and is obviously already sorted with the suit, so I have to find something nice. I want to treat myself to something really nice but I also want something which doesn't cost too much as hopefully it won't fit me for too long iyswim.
So any ideas for where to get something for hourglass shape but with too much tum and a big bum and which hides upper arms? Not much to ask is it? Grin

InMySpareTime · 25/08/2012 06:52

Morning, I'm still a bit sneezy, but feel much more alive than yesterday. DH brought home a GU pudding which cheered me up but put me over cals as I did so little exercise.
I'm going to have to find time to do serious exercise today, as my parents are coming up for the weekend and want to go out for dinner. I doubt there's much low calorie stuff in WetherspoonsHmm, especially adding in the couple of pints that I will inevitably drink with dinner.
Sleepy you could get a maxi dress and wear it with a broad belt to emphasise your waist.

nochipsthanks · 25/08/2012 07:29

Morning all. chips here with a shiny new nn to reflect a new healthy lifestyle. (my old nn made me hungry).

Glad you are on the mend IMST

I need a kick up the bum- have taken the whole week 'off' really. Spinning this morning.

TheOneWithTheHair · 25/08/2012 07:57

Morning everyone. Glad your feeling a bit better IMST

Love the new name nochips.

sleepy try Asda. I know it doesn't sound very exciting but every now and again I've picked up a couple of really nice things that look good and really cover my bum well. Failing that a bit more upmarket is Coast. Their dresses do well on the covering up the bits you don't want people to notice. :)

InMySpareTime · 25/08/2012 09:07

I did some more digging for the den, but had to stop after 20 minutes as I started feeling dizzy again, perhaps I'm not quite better yetBlush.
I hate it when my body won't do what my brain thinks it should [frustrated]. I will need to get some exercise in somewhere to offset tonight.
Someone noticed I've lost weight (finally). A friend said I looked thinner in the face, and was shocked at how much slack there was in my (previously snug) trousers. Is it sad to say that made my day?

littlemissstan · 25/08/2012 09:46

I am 0.8 lbs from going down into my next stone bracket this morning. So who wants to join me in some Bank Holiday 'resolutions'? I am going to two birthday celebrations this weekend so hoping if I lay out what I want to do before the drinking starts it might sink in... So, this weekend I will:

  • Stick to lower calorie drinks - gin and slim and spritzers - and stay away from cocktails and cider
  • Stay away from the kebab shop!
  • Power walk around London rather than dawdle on the Tube
  • And choose sensible food options at the various pubs (IMST, Wetherspoons do actually mark on their menu several dishes that are under 500cals, the bean chilli is really good!)

See you all on the other side!!

InMySpareTime · 25/08/2012 14:18

I'll join you, having spent 3 hours building and felting the den roof (so we have somewhere to work in the dry), I have 1700 cals out of my initial 1200Confused for dinner, I can definitely "afford" a couple of pints and some pesto pasta out later.
