Hello Stealth

Ooh some good losers

WW have a really nice aubergine lasagne (aubergine instead of the pasta) which is made with low fat ricotta. I'll try to find the magazine and post it tonight (I can do that can't I?)

Have been scrupulously good since the weekend so hoping, just hoping to drop 2lb by Monday. Oddly although I was the same when we got back from holiday (save that lb) my clothes suddenly seem to fit again.

Good luck today - goodness it's Thursday already.

fivegomadindorset · 23/08/2012 08:12

this one looks nice, may try tomorrow.

InMySpareTime · 23/08/2012 08:15

Isn't a lasagne with aubergine instead of pasta, just moussaka?

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 08:38

Morning all. Well done IMST. That's great.

Well it's GCSE results day here so nerves aplenty. Then ds is off to Newquay with a friends family for 10 days so more worry although I think he'll be fine. I'm clinging to the fact that he's given me no real trouble so far!

InMySpareTime · 23/08/2012 09:01

Keep us postedSmile.
I'm off to the library today, they have a summer reading challenge for the DCs, if they read 6 books they get an invite to a party. 6 books is no challenge chez sparetimeGrin. The party just happens to be the weekend before DS's birthday, he is happy to have it as his party, and it suits me as the party money saved can go towards a new drum kit for him (subject to practice time restrictions, pre-arranged with neighbours).

MrsPnut · 23/08/2012 09:16

Morning, I have a migraine but haven't got time to be ill. I have taken a cocktail of painkillers and told it to behave itself until later. I can't take my proper meds because they wipe me out for the whole day.

I've forced down a bacon sandwich because of the meds and should be getting ready to go out for the day. Luckily my friend is going to drive.

I'd put pork in cream and mustard sauce down on the meal planner for tonight but I think I might swap it for pasta bake instead.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 11:30

Sorry you're not feeling well MrsPnut I hope you get through it ok. :(

Crap results but at least he got into college. Not a happy house here today. :(

chipsandmayonnaise · 23/08/2012 11:56

MrsPnut hope you are feeling better soon. Migraines are no fun.
So sorry TheOne. Your poor DS, hope he also feels better soon. Getting into college though is fantastic, and a great achievement. Thanks

thanks for ideas everyone. I had forgotten about moussaka. Yum.

We have decided on roasted vegetables with roasted stuffing. But now I am thinking longingly of roasted chicken. But we have had a meat overload lately, so need to seriously up the veg quotient.

Decisions decisions.....

Hi all, not been keeping up very well as since yesterday morning DD been teething terribly and I am shattered! Also been so tired and emotionally exhausted from all the screaming fits/challenging behaviour and a very horrible heavy AF I haven't managed to exercise or eat that well Blush , but I'm booked into aerobics tomorrow morning. I love how I have this thread to keep me on the straight and narrow or I would have just given up so many times.

In good news, I tried on size 18 jeans in debenhams yesterday (yes, I do know their stuff comes up big which is why I went there ) and they did up Grin . Fitted really nicely in the legs and made me look slim (for my size, not actually properly slim) but still too tight in my huge tummy. I nearly bought them on the assumption that they should fit me soon but decided it would be far more satisfying to buy them when they properly fitted once I lose a bit more. Bear in mind last time I tried on jeans (which coincidently was also in debenhams) was about 9 months ago and a size 22 was tight fitting Shock

InMySpareTime · 23/08/2012 15:52

I spent another hour getting stones levelled in the garden, stopped when the rain started and because I was getting shaky . DS is tired too, so he's doing burgers, beans and onion bhajis for dinner.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 16:33

No dh for dinner tonight which means I don't have to eat much. I've been feeling a bit :( all day anyway so not hungry. I don't know why because ds1 did what he needed to do and we knew his results were never going to be near what he's capable of but it's still so depressing to see it on paper.

reastie · 23/08/2012 16:51

theone sorry for the results. I'm a teacher and I feel Sad enough as my students didn't do as well as I would have liked (although I was on mat leave for most of their course), can't imagine how much more generally depressing it must feel if it's your DC. Was it what they were expecting?

inmy you are a lady on a mission in that garden arn't you Wink

mrspnut hope you're avoiding mn (only as it might make your migraine worse)

A MFP query - today I'm less than 50 kcals over my allowance when I factor in everything I'll eat and under on my fat but nearly double on my protein - does this matter do you think? I think I'm always under my fat allowance but often over on protein Hmm

BonkeyMollocks · 23/08/2012 17:24

Bad day, back tomorrow :(

BonkeyMollocks · 23/08/2012 17:24

*Bad few days :( Blush

LollipopViolet · 23/08/2012 17:29

Back from the dentist. Still got all my teeth Grin and needed nothing done.

Am STARVING now, only eaten spaghetti on toast today. Dinner is at least an hour away. I need to snack on something...

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 17:37

Well done Lollipop don't snack though or have a small biscuit.

You ok Bonkey?

Thanks reastie. Some were as expected but was predicted a B in English and got a C. He was only a couple of marks off and doing AQA so he may be one of this year's victims. He was a lazy sod though and I think his results reflected this really.

I've been really good food wise for the past two days. I'm desperately trying to halt the holiday damage but we'll see on Monday. Hmm I know my clothes are tighter though which is funny as I didn't notice them getting looser. I'm sure it's psychological. :)

LollipopViolet · 23/08/2012 17:37

Mmm, that's better, just had an Activia yoghurt - stomach is quiet now :)

InMySpareTime · 23/08/2012 17:39

Reastie over on protein is fine, I've been taking the MFP analysis with a pinch of salt, as a lot of my food is homemade so has minimal MFP data.
Regarding the garden, it sort of has it's own momentum now, the house is full of wood which will only go when I build the den with it. It's in my interests to do what I canGrin.
Hair try not to get too Sad about results, given he has the grades for college, he's done as much as necessary, and once he has higher qualifications the GCSEs will become less important. Has DS learned that lack of effort reflects in grades, and resolved to work harder at college? It's not the past that defines people, it's how they handle situations and move forward (at least that's what we do on this thread, it might as well apply to RL).
Bonkey I've saved you a seat on the wagon, hop up when you're ready.

reastie · 23/08/2012 18:39

theone I teach with AQA and I need to double check as I think they may have moved the grade boundaries in my subject. I feel awful as a few of my predictions were lower than the achieved grades Sad . FWIW if there's only a few marks in it then get it remarked, it's done all the time for borderline students. State schools don't always offer this as freely as I think you have to pay for it, but I imagine you could offer to pay the cost if this was the case.

lollipop mmmmm to activia

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 18:52

We talked about it but I don't think we could manage if he went down a grade which is always a worry with a slightly subjective subject like English.

Thank you for your advice though. I think the teachers have been done over every bit as much as the kids this year. The whole thing stinks.

reastie · 23/08/2012 19:02

I meant predictions were higher not lower than actual grades Blush . Fair enough theone , I guess he has enough to get where he wants to go so no point in jeopardising that. English is the main one they're talking in the news about being generally lower aren't they??

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 19:04

Yes apparently. What do you teach? Maths and science are affected too.

reastie · 23/08/2012 19:42

I teach Food Tech (so I really should know better with what to and not eat Wink Blush )

Itwillendinsmiles · 23/08/2012 19:46

reastie You can alter the MFP carb/protein/fat percentages to suit your aims/what you're eating rather than use the default options.

settings>goals>change goals>custom

I have mine set at carb 25% fat 25% protein 50%

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 20:31

Hahaha reastie that's fab.

Well I'm pleased to tell you ds passed that one with the expected grade and he's off to do a professional chef course at college next year. Grin
