Welcome back married, that's a brilliant achievement. Hope you had a lovely time.

I had a horrible birthday yesterday as our cat was found dead. We're all very sad :( I've eaten and drank too much :(

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2012 12:04

I'm so sorry sloth :( How did it happen?
sagelynodding, good luck for Monday. Do you want to sit in the interview feeling bloated?
married, welcome back , that is good going.
fluffy, I agree, get some new scales! Or stay away from them until you think you've made progress (I am trying that - well I say that but how long can I resist)
MrsPNut, hope you're having a lovely time. I was in Cambridge last month and it was lovely.

Well, about to start cooking for today. I am going to make my own onion bhajis!!

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2012 12:50

need some stay strong vibes
Am so tempted to have a day off - cooking fr PILs and want a glass of wine. And some of the chocolate I have got for after dinner and some chocolate now. And I doubt I can do that within calories.
Right - going to tot everything up and if I can make it come in at a reasonable amount over cals then I ill stick to it.

marriedinwhite · 18/08/2012 13:27

Oh sloth what happened? That's awful and deserves lashings of alcohol.

Stealth - now come on - wine yes - fortification required for PILs always but no choc and could you go for a brisk bracing walk to get away from them for half an hour to compensate?

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2012 13:37

My PILs are lovely so I don't even have that excuse :)
And they've gone out for a walk with DH giving me lovely time alone in the house to get jobs done. I am getting a glimmer of motivation back, trying to prepare and log everything and will see how it goes :)

slothprincess · 18/08/2012 14:20

Thanks guys, he was such a lovely cat. He'd been missing since last weekend but someone found him yesterday and very kindly phoned the number on his collar. Think he'd been killed by a car, probably the day he went missing. There's a sense of relief in knowing what had happened to him as we've been worrying and searching for him all week.

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2012 14:38

oh no :( I'm so sorry. As you say, you now know the worst and the worrying is over.
I can do today in 2222 calories. How much exercise does it take to burn 1000 cals? Or shall i just accept I'm over for today?

LollipopViolet · 18/08/2012 15:12

Oh sloth :(

Stealth - as people have said to me on this thread, an off day isn't the end of the world, it'll balance out. Could you go for a walk later?

I've only had cereal today - had it at lunchtime as I fancied some and wasn't hungry this morning.

Having battered fish, with salad tonight. Parents are having chips, but I don't fancy those.

I'm going to go to the gym tomorrow, I think. I should be doing work for this uni project but I'm distracted - I MIGHT have the use of a space as a photography studio! :)

InMySpareTime · 18/08/2012 16:50

I've spent the best part of the day digging, levelling and concreting in posts for the DCs den, I'm now at -600 cals for todayBlush. DH wants to go out for dinner, I think I can spare the calories, it's nice to be able to do that, knowing I've put the work in beforehand. I put it into MFP as 220 mins of general gardening, it was fairly hard physical work so even though it overestimates, I think I'm fine.

reastie · 18/08/2012 17:00

sloth Sad so sorry. At least you know now so you're not worrying all the time where your cat is I guess. We had a cat run over a few years ago - was really upsetting - are you OK?

IMST well done you on the hard work - definitely dinner out well deserved.

Doing really badly today - haven't even bothered with MFP as I know I'll be over already. Every now and again I get these odd anxious/IBS type attacks where I get really bloated painful tummy which I'm being truthful only ever helped by eating. It usually comes when I don't eat regularly enough, so tbh I'm suprised it hasn't happened already as I've been hungry so much. So I've been eating on and off all afternoon Blush. Still have a fragile gassy tummy but i'm sure it'll be better tomorrow. I just feel so guilty. Things here a little stressful as MIL in hospital suddenly blue lighted yesterday and I'm feeling sad as stopped DDs morning bf as of this morning - she didn't seem to notice but I was Sad . Oh, and it's just waaayyyyyyy too hot too.

Feel with all that ranting I should finish on a positive - have been cleaning this morning - the bathroom sparkles - I'm hoping this may have helped with burning a few kcals.

fivegomadindorset · 18/08/2012 17:05

So sorry sloth Sad, as others have said, at least you know.

i am having a crap day, been on the wine again as have been up to my brother and SIL's where my other brother was and meeting his new girlfriend, going out tonight to a wedding reception so another liquid diet today.

BonkeyMollocks · 18/08/2012 17:58

:( sloth .

sleepychunky · 18/08/2012 19:36

Sorry about your cat sloth, that's horrible Sad

We've had a day at the beach - anyone been to West Wittering? It took us ages to get there as it seems like every other bugger in the south of England decided to go there too, but once we got there it was great. It was the first time DCs had been to a sandy beach (we live near Brighton so they are used to pebbles!) and jumped in the waves, so they had a fantastic time. I took some food with us but only what I happened to have in, so DH bought (vastly overpriced) burgers and chips for the boys to eat. I did eat about 5 chips and 2 bites of younger DS's burger but that's all I've had today apart from some yogurt for breakfast, so I don't think that's too bad. Am having a jacket potato for dinner so that should be fine.

slothprincess · 18/08/2012 19:58

Thank you for your kind words everyone. It really is appreciated.

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2012 22:03

Reastie what's up with your mil? Hope she's ok now. guikt about diet is not what you need now and if regular eating helps the physical symptoms them good.
What makes you think dd has stopped bf as of this mornin? How old is she?

InMySpareTime · 19/08/2012 06:28

Good morning allSmile,
What's today,
scales-free Sunday?
Step back on (the wagon) Sunday?
See some inches gone Sunday?

I just don't know. I have a (relatively) quiet day today, I need to remember to eat less than yesterday as I'm doing a lot less exercise.

reastie · 19/08/2012 07:03

stealth something do to with her heart Shock not exactly sure yet but we are visiting her today. I'm stopping bfing as my work hours are changing from September meaning I have to leave home too early to bf DD before I leave. She is 18 months so I guess it's not a massive thing and I've done well to get this far and I'm still bfing at night.

IMST step back on the wagon sunday sounds good to me. In the end I only had a teeny almost non existant dinnfer las night as I was full up from all the snacking Shock - that has never happened before - if I've snacked alot I've just eaten/wanted dinner anyway whether hungry or not, so I'm taking that as a positive step forward.

Oh yes- and I had a picnic with my family yesterday. My sister (which is a lovely slim size 8) had the tiniest of teeny lunches - some watercress and a minuscule amount of cous cous salad and that was it. Possibly not even a starter sized portion of cous cous. No wonder she's so slim. She doesn't really snack either and there was no pud to be seen - how that can fill her up I don't know, but made me realise how little slim people really do eat (I know we've discussed this before but just seeing it makes it so obvious to me).

StealthPolarBear · 19/08/2012 08:30

Hope the visit today goes well and they are sorting out what is wrong.
I see what you mean about the bf - I thought you meant she had stopped! 18 months is fantastic :o
Completely agree about the revelation about how little slim people eat. I used to see my slim cousins only at family events, Christmas etc and they'd eat loads. I've only just realised that this is because it was a special occasion, and most of the time they must actually eat a lot less Blush
I'll go for Stay With It Sunday. I did OK yesterday - about 2100 cals. Not feeling very motivated today but if I can get through the day I think tomorrow will be better and I'm back at work on Tue.

HolofernesesHead · 19/08/2012 09:04

Good morning!

Stay with it Sunday sounds good! :) I weighed myself this morning and have lost 2 lbs! That's a total of 7 since the end of July. I am opting for loads of fruit and salad, with enough protein and carbs to keep me going, and it seems to be working! Yay for willpower and sticking with it!

It's really hot today, isn't it? I was planning to cook chicken for lunch but am not sure I can cope with having the oven on. Hmmm, plan B......

KatoPotato · 19/08/2012 10:14

Good morning all! I'm really sorry Sloth but at least your minds at rest?
reastie don't you loner these slim people revelations? Ive been convinced for most my life that people were split into fat people (me) and skinny people (everyone else) and the slim guys just did what I did but stayed slim... No idea what I thought they did at the gym etc... I think I just thought thru enjoyed going?

I've only ever known other overweight people as Girls I went to school with on Facebook listing failed diet after failed diet (but until now I've never even tried to diet!?)

Swimming today, but with 2.6yr old DS and DH so doubt much calorie burn!

LollipopViolet · 19/08/2012 13:49

Afternoon all - I've done well today - been to the gym, had nice healthy lunch and just getting a few bits done this afternoon.

Got soaked coming home from the gym though - boo to Sunday bus services :(

marriedinwhite · 19/08/2012 15:08

Am off out soon for a brisk 40 minute walk.

Was good yesterday and have lost my extra lb but that doesn't always mean it will soon be gone tomorrow. So far have been good today.

Holoferneseshead - 7lb is fab in a few weeks.

KatoPotato · 19/08/2012 17:08

I dig deep and made it to an 1130 spin class this morning, then refused cake at our friends house, then went swimming with the lads! Compared to last weekend, I bet I don't even lose anything!

MrsPnut · 19/08/2012 17:27

I had 2 rashers of bacon in a bread roll this morning but then at my mum's had a roast chicken dinner with roast potatoes etc.

It'll be a sandwich tea and then maybe finish off the wine tonight ready for a more focussed week from tomorrow.

InMySpareTime · 19/08/2012 18:03

I made lamb balti for dinner, and sneaked a butternut squash and 4 mushrooms into it without DH or the DCs noticing (and DH helped me hand blender them into the curry sauceConfused)
I will have a beer this evening and still be under calories for the dayGrin.
