I am so far off the wagon right now that I am in fact in the pub round the corner.

Last night we went for dinner at the pub because I couldn't be bothered to cook. I had beer battered haddock which was delicious and only a few chips but I drank 4 large glasses of wine and then a couple of gins when we got home.

I am going to weigh myself tomorrow what ever happens and face it but I have drunk far too much this week.
Tonight's dinner is veggie chilli with jacket potato with no snacking before then.

StealthPolarBear · 16/08/2012 13:26

:o

sleepychunky · 16/08/2012 13:32

I'm here feeling a bit annoyed because I've been good all week, with just a little treat here and there (one chocolate button, a glass of wine) but haven't lost anything. I've been under 1200 calories every day, and sometimes below 900, so I should have lost something, shouldn't I? Maybe because I've lost a stone pretty quickly (3 weeks) it's going to be a plateau for a week before I start losing again.
I'm giving blood this afternoon and will be avoiding the crisps and biscuits afterwards. I've also found a zumba class I might be able to go to - it's the right timing so I can go once DS1 is in bed, but it depends on if there are any spaces. I've emailed the leader to find out, but would love to give that a go.

StealthPolarBear · 16/08/2012 13:35

That seems to be the way sleepy :( it will store it up and when you've had a really bad week you'll lose a lb. Confused
Btw you haveto have a biscuit after giving blood. It's the rules :o

InMySpareTime · 16/08/2012 14:01

Don't do Zumba straight after giving blood, you'll pass outBlush.
I've been walking pretty much all morning, 40 minutes with a backpack completely full of books, 30 minutes with it only half full of books, a couple of black teas in the cafe and a cheese toastie then another 25 minutes going to pick up prescriptions (which were pretty heavy) before I finally got back home. I'm chilling out now while the DCs watch CBBC.

LollipopViolet · 16/08/2012 15:57

Bah, I'm going to be over today - we're having steak, egg and chips. A rare meal in this house.

Even with my gym workout logged, I'm still over by 14 calories!

InMySpareTime · 16/08/2012 16:07

DS is cooking tonight, quorn "chicken style pieces" with pasta and spicy tomato sauce. He even had spare in his £3 dinner budget to buy a bottle of cherryade for himself I hope he doesn't expect me to drink any, it looks vile
LV that's only a tiny bit over, just run up and down the stairs for 5 minutes to even things upGrin.

InMySpareTime · 16/08/2012 16:08

LV just have a half portion of chips, or poach the egg.

LollipopViolet · 16/08/2012 16:18

Aha, good idea IMST :)

LollipopViolet · 16/08/2012 16:57

Haha, I'm back at a deficit, thanks to having some scrambled egg and no chips with my steak :)

StealthPolarBear · 16/08/2012 16:58

Well done LV, brilliant willpower
I'm having an OK day, won;t be super low calories but I just want to get back in control

KatoPotato · 16/08/2012 17:31

Okay, I'm confused... Before my weekend of horrific excess I was maintaining week in week and couldn't get below 12st... The Friday before I go I was finally 11 11 but still wanted to have a good time, came home and on Monday was 12 1 and scared of those calories creeping up...

Today, 11 11... I just don't get it?!?

Sorry ill catch up and comment once young sir is off to bed

InMySpareTime · 16/08/2012 17:35

DS made us all drink some cherryade, it's just as bad as I remember itSad.
DS is amused that when he read the ingredients, it contains no cherries, but has concentrates of carrot and blackcurrantConfused. We spent a few minutes trying to pronounce phenylalanine, and can only pronounce carboxymethylcellulose if we say it slowly while reading it.
They are now trying to take photos of my face when I swallow a mouthful of cherryade and shudder

StealthPolarBear · 16/08/2012 17:35

We all seem to be having this sort of problem. Are we all doing this diet thing wrong? Maybe its the more you eat Tje more weight you lose? That would help quite a bit Tbh

InMySpareTime · 16/08/2012 17:45

I suspect the odd day or weekend of indulgence in an otherwise low calorie diet keeps your metabolism from going into starvation mode, as it's more like a hunter gatherer diet, where you eat enough to get by until there's meat, then eat loads for a day or two before going back to meagre rations.

Itwillendinsmiles · 16/08/2012 17:47

Two theories... though I'm sure there are many more as well!

One is indeed that you have to eat more to weigh less... never eating below your BMR and I think there's a thread on here that explains the maths. Or if you're using MFP there's a group, website links, youtube etc.

Second one which means that you boost your metabolism by eating a lot of calories for a short period of time to stop your body adjusting to your stable diet. Similarly just changing - not necessarily upping - your exercise habits can have a benefit.

BonkeyMollocks · 16/08/2012 17:50

Hi all.

I'm doing ok. Went to Greggs for lunch and chose a roll rather than the delicious horrible greasy looking pasties and cakes.

Doc said to stop fretting and took some swabs for tests, which I have to wait 10 days to get the results Shock . Grrr!

Pasta bake for tea which isn't the best diet wise but hopefully it should fill me up enough to stop me picking later, which means I will come in under cals today, just!

Forgets the one custard cream biscuit that slipped in gob

reastie · 16/08/2012 18:28

inmy I think you pronounce it fee-nal-al-eeeen from what I remember at uni (studies food based things) Grin

stealth the more you eat the more you lose - that sounds good to me, but it's definitely not true in my case! They do say when you eat too little your body goes into starvation mode though and you can't shift the lbs as your body tries to keep hold of them, or what inmy and itwill said. IMO it's the exercise that makes all the difference - kato you didn't by chance run up and down stairs or similar with the loss did you?! Also, my weight fluctuates by up to 4 lbs with bloating and hormones very annoying

bonkey hope the test results are OK

went to the gym this afternoon which really just cancelled out a couple of snacks I had that I usually wouldn't have done only was super hungry, but I feel better for going and I'm definitely feeling more toned in the arms despite still having lots of fat surrounding the muscles. Plus, on the leg press thingy today I did 45 reps with 60 kilos of weights [strong man emoticon]

slothprincess · 16/08/2012 18:30

Interesting theories smiles. I'm just about to put them to the test as I had cake out with DH this afternoon and then am going out for dinner and wine tonight.

Well done those of us who are demonstrating impressive will power today. Those of you feeling down or bingey, tomorrow is a fresh day and an opportunity to take control back.

StealthPolarBear · 16/08/2012 18:32

I'm never that convnced by the starvation mode arguments.
Well I'm still doing OK on willpower - had 550 cal so far today and waiting for DH to get back to eat.

KatoPotato · 16/08/2012 18:48

Well I have done spin, gym Zumba and not much food since my return?

BonkeyMollocks · 16/08/2012 19:11

Grrr!
Bastard Fridge has broken! Angry

Blessing in disguise maybe?? Hmm

reastie · 16/08/2012 19:15

ONly a blessing in disguise bonkey if it means you don't now need to quickly consume all the contents Hmm .

BonkeyMollocks · 16/08/2012 19:25

I'm stuffed thanks to my pasta.

Plus I am super picky about fresh food, I'm scared to eat anything that comes out of there Confused .

fivegomadindorset · 16/08/2012 19:28

Evening all, called in on a friend and supped wine, but that, biscuits and supper still means I am within my WW points for the week.

Bonkey bugger about your fridge, anything saveable?
