Not really apart from diet coke and some bits that I have managed to shove in the freezer in time.

Complete pita and more bloody money!

Why do these things happen on the skint weeks??

fivegomadindorset · 16/08/2012 20:16

Oh bugger, sorry.

Can I say my supper was delicious and low in calories.

Good morning allSmile.
Hope we're all firmly back on the wagon, let's get a good solid day in before the temptations of the weekend.
Focus day Friday could well be in order, take stock of how far we've come, and think about our goals.
I have lost 11lb so far, and have just under 2st to go before my birthday in December.
I have lost 4in from my waist, and would like to lose another 3 by December.
Anyone else up for a review?

sleepychunky · 17/08/2012 06:58

Like it IMST! Well it's exactly a month since I started this whole weight loss regime, and I've lost 15lb. I don't know about inch loss as I didn't measure when I first started, but I did take some photos when I had lost 9lb. I am going to a wedding on 7th September and would really like to lose another 4lb by then, and longer term I want to have lost a total of 2½ stone by Christmas.

fivegomadindorset · 17/08/2012 07:00

Morning all, liking Focus Day Friday. I have lost 4lbs in two weeks so happy with that. I have a day off today which is always difficult to get through food wise but will crack on with it.

fluffyraggies · 17/08/2012 07:21

Morning all.

I despair of my bloody scales! I've been good all week - way under calories and very low carb. I did an hours Zumba Wednesday eve, but yesterday morning the darn things were telling me i'd put on 6lb overnight!!!!!!! (i'm mid cycle - no AF) Ridiculous.

They're obviously crap. Humph.

+ 6lb overnight - That's impossible isn't it? Someone?

i was expecting a little loss. I had them on the hall floor where it's good and firm after all the troubles i had upstairs getting a consistent reading off them at the start of my diet. On Tuesday they were showing a total loss of 7lb over 17 days. If yesterdays reading is to be believed i'm back to square bloody one! But i feel slimmer and DH says i look like i've lost it round my waist.

I have a friend who has a good set of scales - accurate to the last ounce. I'll ask if i can nip round and get on! Blush

Sigh.

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:22

sleepychunky 15lb in a month is brilliant!
Well I have lost very little in the last month, probably even gained. I am effectively starting again. I can't have this weekend off, as I had 3 days last week off which is depressing. But I can do this. I want to lose a stone (down to 11st or even 10st somehing) by the end of October and then another by Christmas. If I ever see my weight start with a 9 it will probably be the first time since before I was a teenager.

fivegomadindorset · 17/08/2012 07:23

You can do it Stealth

fluffy have you checked the batteries?

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:24

No that is complete crap fluffy! Have they been in that position all the time?
I am actually tempted to visit the doctor and ask to use their scales sometimes.

Oh and (ironically given the way the last thread went) I was watching Friends last night, it was the one with the wedding in London. I want to be able to put on a dress and look fantastic, instead of finding the one that makes me look least like a sofa, as I ahve done my whole adult life.

fluffyraggies · 17/08/2012 07:28

Thank you :)

No, i havn't checked the batteries!

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:28

Hi five :) good luck with your day off. Ikwym out and about I seem to have loads of willpower but at home I struggle.

fluffyraggies · 17/08/2012 07:35

It is hard being home and not nibbling. My fridge is so empty it's Blush

The kids are moaning and whining about there being nothing in the kitchen to eat. There is - but its 'proper' food. Like cheese and eggs and stuff in the freezer and the veg basket, that takes an effort to prepare.

reastie · 17/08/2012 07:38

fluffy I checked my weight this morning - 15 st 11, then I moved the scales 1 inch to the left (it lookd like DH had moved them a little since yesterday) and then 15 st 8 came up Shock - I'm going with the lighter one obv Wink . My scales are driving me mad too - I'm debating buying a new set which are more accurate - does anyone know of any nice accurate ones that arn't too expensive? My ones are electronic weight watchers ones but they've lost the carpet feet so I'm having to do it on the shortest carpet in the house as we don't have any flat non carpet floors (the tiles we have are very lumpy bumpy)

bonkey how annoying. Our old freezer used to be easy to not close properly and I think in the space of a couple of years it got left open 4 times and everything was ruined (I'm fussy with food too) - it's hard throwing all that money in the bin (quite literally)

Well, I'm not exactly sure how much I've lost in the last month but it's if I'm v v optimistic 1 stone. I want to at least get into the 12 stones, which is 3 stone to go, but, shorter term, I'd like to get down to a size 18 from my current size 20/22 and, like stealth , look in the mirror when trying on an outfit and not be completely depressed with what I see.

Has anyone been watching the hairy dieters btw? Just watching last nights episode (series link) and I'm a bit Shock they've been given 1100 kcals a day allowance - I know they'll lose weight by reducing it this much but it feels a bit extreme (probably to give good quick results for TV I imagine) - I know different people are doing different things here but my logic wants to say cutting it down that dramatically (for a man - who needs mor calories than a woman) won't be sustainable in the long term and I always thought if you were too extreme in the methods to lose it would be more likely to come back on again in the future Hmm . It's a bit like a doctor telling me to eat less than 1000 kcals a day Hmm . Maybe this thinking is just me though!

MrsPnut · 17/08/2012 07:43

Morning, I weighed this morning and was astounded to discover that I have lost another 2lb. That's 31lb off according to MFP but actually 33lb off from my heaviest.

We're going camping today so I am loading the car as well as meeting a friend for a coffee this morning.

reastie · 17/08/2012 07:43

oh, just to add, not being rude to anyone doing anything similar re: hairy dieters, don't want it to come across like that! I just mean they seem to be promoting everything healthy and for the long term life changes. I didn't in my head associate that with such calorie reduction as recommended by doctors - as doctors usually recommend less extreme reductions I thought (unless there was a very urgent need to be extreme with loss). I'll be very interested with if they tackle how to keep it off in the long term in their last episode next week.

fivegomadindorset · 17/08/2012 07:44

I did watch it, they are losing weight very, very quickly, will they be able to keep it off though? I did like the look of their food though, I presume they will be bringing a book out.

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:47

that does seem low reastie - are they doing a lot of exercise and eating the exercise calories?
In general I'm doing 1200, but when I'm in a good dieting place it's more like 800-900. I know it's low, and I know all the warnings, but the one thing that really motivates me is progress and visible results. As an adult I have never really been thin, and I want to get to where I want to be and then worry about keeping it off. Probably not the best plan but we'll see.

MrsPnut · 17/08/2012 07:47

I've been watching it, they started off at 1300 calories then after a month reduced it to 1200 so they could maintain the rate of weight loss.

I've tried a couple of the recipes and they are very good, it must be more sustainable if the food you are eating doesn't feel like diet food. I can't wait to try the pie from last night's show.

fivegomadindorset · 17/08/2012 07:48

That pie looked lovely, and the curry.

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:49

No you'er right, I wouldn't associate that with something that was promoting health as such - I'd expect to get a telling off if I told my doctor :o
What food are they eating?
MrsPNut enjoy your camping!

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:50

Pie???? How can they have any more than a miniscule bit for less than 1000 calories?
Was it a pie with a crust or did it ahve a mashed swede topping, or something like that?

fluffyraggies · 17/08/2012 07:51

I keep missing it! I wanted to watch that. I know what you mean reastie, if it's being shown as a long term eating plan then 1100kcals is not enough. If it's being shown as a crash diet then fair enough! lol.

Yes - go with the lighter reading. Well done!

fivegomadindorset · 17/08/2012 07:52

Pie with crust and it was crust encased, 335 calories.

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2012 07:53

Shock I have a small bowl of salad that is 660! How on earth can lard pastry pie be 335cals?
