Nooooo. Don't talk about chocolate. Envy

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 20:04

Ok...its a real frog? That I'm having deep fried with gravy. I just called him freddo before I called him dinner.
Will that do?

Eggrules · 26/06/2012 20:10

I am saving Lilt zero for a cheeky Friday night vodka instead of wine. I bought cans on offer and just limit myself to one or two for the day. 1 x coffee, 1 x tea the rest water.

I like a flavoured cold drink and need to cut out the fizz. I'm going to try Dr. Oz?s Tangerine Weight-Orade. Blurb says 'It contains: green tea, shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup; tangerine, with a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat; and mint, a calorie-free flavor enhancer'. You are supposed to drink a pitcher of iced tea a day. It is made with 8 cups of brewed green tea, 1 tangerine, sliced and a handful of mint leaves.

Shred in T minus 6. I'm going to do it straight after the school run. During the school hols I will (hopefully) do it before everyone else gets up.

Freddo frog mmmm. I have time out bars at 85 cals.

mrsbob · 26/06/2012 20:18

I know I'm a bit late but can I join in too please? At the moment I'm a 16 and would love to lose as much as possible by mid October. Size 10 maybe by Christmas. I've got a long weekend away with friends and they're all size 8-10. Really don't want to be the fatty hiding at the back.
Have just made the kids pack ups for tomorrow and picked far too much at the bread and cheese - oops! Need to stock up on sugar free mint as I've found in the past these stop me from picking when i'm preparing food. Looking forward to getting lots of tips - this thread is really motivating!!

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 20:23

Hi mrsbob :) how are you planning to do it?

TheOneWithTheHair · 26/06/2012 20:37

Sorry Stealth I had just finished dinner and was waiting for the kettle to boil to have my coffee mouth sweetener.

I haven't had any chocolate today. Not even half of a digestive. Grin

Not doing well at the exercise front though. I tried to do the wii but there wasn't enough space with me and ds2 together. He's not allowed back to play group until Thursday so it's going to be a crap exercise week. Hopefully dropping the chocolate will be enough this week.

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 20:42

Youbknow what? I haven't had any chocolate either. Thaats not like me! Wonder if I could go a whole day without it?
No, probably not :)

mrsbob · 26/06/2012 21:16

Starvation lol! My plan is to cut out bread and high calorie snacks completely. It also helps me if I steer away from wine and drink vodka if i'm having a drink at the weekend. I don't get the munchies the following day that way either.

I was involved in a car crash last month which left me with a painful back, neck and shoulders. Just waiting for the physio to give me the all clear to exercise and i'll be shredding again. Does anyone else find the first few days of the shred cause your weight to stick?

KateSpade · 26/06/2012 22:04

So weigh in confirmed my half a pound loss. Which resulted in me having a bit of a breakdown and half-shouting at me leader whilst crying. Blush

I have worked out my points for tomorrow all meals and snacks which comes to 15 points. Daily allowance 26. I feel i have plenty of food & enough for a packet of Quavers at the Cinema tomorrow evening.

& Just got back form the gym just 30 minutes of Cardio today, yesterday was an hour of cardio then weights/toning ect.

but Fucking hell, i am so angry/frustrated. Sad

roguepixie · 26/06/2012 22:34

Kate, I have been in that very situation, many years ago whilst following SW. I had done everything right, exercised and ... stayed the same. Soul destroying. However, I learnt a lesson: some weeks your body just hangs on to the weight/water etc for no reason. I don't know anything about you but things like where you are in your cycle affect how much you lose, how much water yu are drinking - it the short term you retain it but in the long term it helps flush rubbish out of your system. All I can say is you are doing all the right things ... keep going. Good luck.

On a personal note...I managed to get to the gym today Shock. It was quick (as I had to collect DS) but I got there and did some cardio. Am well pleased. It is day 2 and I am beginning to feel the motivation kick in.

To all of you doing the Shred ... you brave, brave (and slightly mad) people Grin. I don't have a DVD player so don't do it but I gather that it is really effective.

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 23:15

Kate, I don't know how much you weigh but since you say you're between a 12 and a 14 I'm guessing it is affair bit less than me! So you'll lose it fairly slowly but surely. Think of this as a test, will you give up now? I agree, you're doing all the right things.

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 23:16

I've had my salad and about a 2 mile walk to my hotel so hopefully they will have cancelled each other out :) another 2 mile walk in the morning.

KateSpade · 26/06/2012 23:17

It is soul destroying. But I'm determined to keep at it, how i am going and if things don't change with all my efforts i am going to go to the doctors just to see whats going on.

I am attempting to drink 2 Litres of water a day. I especially love Sugar Free Vimto. :)

I do the shred aswell on the days i don't go to the gym, and oh my days. I can feel it so much the next day! Level two is a killer!

BigBadBear · 26/06/2012 23:19

Just done day 4 of the shred. Dh just weighed himself and discovered that he has lost over a stone in the last month by playing tennis and swimming once a week and starting the 30 Day Shred Smile

Someone mentioned spd. I had it very severely with dd2 and it is only now, over two years on and after a few months of physio that I could even attempt the shred. But I'm weirdly enjoying it Grin

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2012 23:31
Envy By Friday I will have shredded at least once and u are all to heckle me if I javent
travellingwilbury · 27/06/2012 07:03

Ow ! My legs and shoulders hurt , stupid evil shred , I have got work today till one so if I feel less broken this afternoon I will attempt it again . It better be doing some good .

Good luck to everyone for today .

Purpletoes · 27/06/2012 07:39

travelling with you in the sore arms and legs from shred! Will try and do a session before heading to airport.
Dinner last night I don't think was as bad calorie wise as I thought. No or little carbs as a fancy up and coming restaurant so don't feel so bad and just 1 drink.

Just need to be extra good today but could be fun with travelling!

Good luck everyone today. Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 27/06/2012 08:01

Morning all. Where are you going Purpletoes? Anywhere good?

I feel full of resolve this morning. I don't feel hungry or too tired. It's always more difficult when you're tired.

Good luck today.

TwllBach · 27/06/2012 08:44

I'm posting and running because I've got a lot on today. I'm having jam on toast for breakfast because I am feeling sick with nerves - I've got a job interview today and it honestly feels like the rest of my life depends on getting the job. Literally whether I can get married, have a baby, and have the career I trained for. I may well eat chocolate before I go in as well. You know when you are so nervous you are a sad song away from tears??

I will see you all on the flip side!

Purpletoes · 27/06/2012 08:49

theone just to Ireland to visit parents with 4 mo DS. So the healthy eating should be fun at airport. Have packed the shred to do at parent's house. And dm is found sw so hopefully eating at home won't be too bad. Grin

twll good luck today.

NeverAgain2 · 27/06/2012 09:18

Good morning all - sorry not to check in yesterday - was out all day at a conference and knackered by the time I got home.

Food was provided at the conference and I was really good - no danish at morning coffee, or biscuits, at lunch time I chose poached salmon and veg, no potatoes, avoided dessert and was not tempted with the donuts on offer with afternoon tea.

I was feeling very pleased (and if I am honest, a little smug) but then I blew it all by eating one of the kids left over easter eggs at 9pm. Blush Angry

Why do I do it? Really, why? I am so weak willed it is untrue.

I am off on a 120 mile trip to a meeting now, so have come prepared with chicken slices, lots of water and sugar free gum.

Hope you all have a good day.

KateSpade - Your posts have really struck a nerve, you are doing so well; your physical activity puts me to shame.

TheOneWithTheHair · 27/06/2012 09:21

Twil good luck today. I'm sure you'll be great.

Purpletoes it will be good to see your mum. I am going away next Thursday for four days with dh and no dcs. We are planning to eat out every meal except breakfast and drink lots of good wine. It will no doubt put me right back where I've started but it will be worth it. Grin

LollipopViolet · 27/06/2012 09:40

Morning all!

Have had a cup of tea and two slices of toast for breakfast. Just getting ready for gym session number two for this week, and actually looking forward to it. I'm going swimming on Friday, then spinning on Saturday.

If today's weight check is to be believed, I've lost a pound, but I'm going to wait til tomorrow to weigh in officially.

Moxxie · 27/06/2012 10:20

Morning...

Yesterday not a great day on the food front, but have started again today with new resolve, and am hoping the heat will put me off snacking.

When I lost weight last year I found that eating throughout the day helped me to not binge in the evening, so I aimed for my breakfast, lunch and dinner to be roughly the same size, with a couple of small snacks. I did calorie counting - sort of - so it was 400cals for a meal and 100cals for a snack.
But I find the sorts of things I consider to be healthy/diet food to be so bloody dull it's hard to stick at it, until I found this website: www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/recipes/. Once you have done your initial search e.g. chicken, you can refine by number of calories per portion. You'd be amazed at what you can eat! Last night we had a warm lentil salad with tomatoes and bacon, with goats cheese on a crusty roll...

So I just need to get back into the swing of planning our meals ahead, it's the "what do you fancy for dinner?" conversation that sends us down the wrong path.

KatoPotato · 27/06/2012 10:20

Good luck Twill! Don't pin too much on a new job, and view it as you interviewing them to see if you actually want the job!

Didn't manage to shred... Had a milkybar instead...

Got circuits and walking club tonight... Ooft (weather permitting)

Now breakfast? No idea!
