Raspberries are easy to grow, plant canes (usually in winter), tie them up when they start flopping over (easiest if grown by a fence), wait for the fruit.
Cut back canes when they finish fruiting. Repeat each year.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2012 11:32

Thnks :) Right, that's my plan for the winter then. Ooh just remembered we need to transfer our sunflowrrs into the garden, that's a job for next week or the weekend

BonkeyMollocks · 20/07/2012 14:54

Hi all, so far so good today. :)

Need to drink more though!

Very Envy of raspberries and blueberries in the garden !!

Sausages and roasted veg for dinner. I shall be skipping the potatoes!

LollipopViolet · 20/07/2012 20:23

Hi all!

I've been doing OK with food and exercise - have lost another pound, yay!

Have had a stinker of a headache all day though :(

KateSpade · 20/07/2012 21:03

Hello ladies. I haven't posted in a while, as this week i have been very busy for a change!

I stayed the same at my weigh in, we had a meal out and my mum put on 3.5lbs! So better than putting on i guess

I have a question, Has anyone heard of the Ashy Bines clean eating plan? (No i am not planning to buy it) & Does anyone do clean eating?

TheOneWithTheHair · 20/07/2012 21:06

Hi Lollipop I hope you feel better soon. Couple of paracetamol and a pint of water. Failing that you need Wine.

Sorry Kate I've never heard of clean eating. I'm sure someone will have though.

KateSpade · 20/07/2012 21:14

Its basically cutting out processed foods, and eating foods as close to their natural state as possible. But I'm after some meal ideas, as it seems VERY boring.

Also, to add a question, what does everyone eat for breakfast? I have oat-i-bix and takes up 5 of my daily 26 points. I think i shall switch to a poached egg on toast which is 3.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2012 21:18

I have a one egg omelette with that one cal fry stuff. Sometimes with toast sometimes not

KateSpade · 20/07/2012 21:23

What do you put in the Omelette? Nothing or veg's?

marriedinwhite · 20/07/2012 21:59

How you make a poached egg on toast 3. I make it 4 without any butter/low fat spread. I don't miss the spread if I slice a tomato and whack it in the microwave for 30 secs and put that on the toast first.

I have been good this week but seem stuck now having lost a pound last week. Have to keep it up over the weekend and then I might lose another lb.

TheOneWithTheHair · 20/07/2012 22:11

I have Belvita biscuits. Blush

Well it's an improvement. I spent nearly 20yrs having nothing. I get sick if I eat in the mornings.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2012 22:18

Yes I also have belvita when I am away at work. on't buy the muesli ones, they're vile - if you want to try then let me knoiw and I'll send you a pack/.

This morning I had my omellete with some mushrooms on half a slice of toast. Often I just have it on its own, with loads of salt and black pepper

wherearemysocks · 20/07/2012 22:39

Hi Kate, I've not heard of the term clean eating but I pretty much try and stay away from processed food to a certain extent, I'm not evangelical about it though.

For brekkie I have scrambled eggs, with a tbl spoon on linseed mixed in, some cold roast chicken breast (which would probably count as processed as I buy it packaged though), and sometimes I'll have fried mushrooms with it.

For lunch usually a Dukan gelatte (2 tbl sp oatbran, 2tbl sp quark or natural yogurt, 1 egg and fry like a pancake), I'll have that with some salad and usually some kind of oily fish, smoked salmon, makeral fillets or prawns.

Dinner is usually some kind of meat and veg or a home made shepherds pie, bolognese, curry etc. Tonight we had one of those bake in the bag things, it was Spanish chicken seasoning mix, pieces of chicken breast, chopped up peppers and half an aubergine that just needed using up, shook it all up together in the bag thingy and bunged it in the oven, served with some cauliflower mash.

I snack on Greek yogurt, berries or nuts.

I still drink a lot of tea and coffe, I don't know if that's considered clean eating? And I still have a glass of wine or two at the weekend, and a nice dessert if I go out for dinner.

friendly7 · 20/07/2012 22:49

Clean eating is an interesting concept. Here is a link:
www.thegraciouspantry.com/what-is-clean-eating/
I don't follow it though in a pure sense but I like the idea of fever ingredients.
As for what I have for my breakfast, I decided to stop having ready made cereal as it didn't help me loose weight when I tried. So I'm having veg/fruit/salad, occasionally porridge with semi-skimmed milk and honey and some berries.

LollipopViolet · 20/07/2012 23:06

I like the Bellvita breakfast biscuits. I also like the Alpen light bars, but I find them better for a late breakfast/snack.

I have toast before the gym, or a peanut butter sandwich. I can't eat too early either, or I feel ill.

Gym tomorrow, which I am very much looking forward to. Headache has cleared, think I was a little bit dehydrated over yesterday and today - lots of water has helped.

StealthPolarBear · 21/07/2012 07:32

Morning everyone
well I have lost only 1lb in the last 2 weeks :( Obviously I've been up and back down. But I hope I am really back into it now - it's been almost a week, so hopefuly I can get back on track. I am not going to have the weekend off as I usually do, but am going to calorie count as usual. But will allow myself 200/300 more calories than my usual limit.

StealthPolarBear · 21/07/2012 07:35

oh and I'm finally getting round to putting some grapes in the freezer

InMySpareTime · 21/07/2012 08:01

I was put in charge of hot dogs and popcorn at the party, but the smell of all the cooking kept my appetite down, I only ate a cup of salted popcorn all evening.
I had 3 beers, but passed on the cheesy chips and garlic bread at the pub afterwards as I wasn't hungry.
Today I have a barbecue to go to, at least it's a mile's walk to get there, and I can drink water instead of wine. I may well go over calories today though.

TheOneWithTheHair · 21/07/2012 08:05

Well done both of you. :)

Stealth I think you have done really well considering your wobble. You still lost and you're back with us. :)

I did well yesterday and I'm going to keep on it today. Got to weigh in on Monday but this week has been hard.

poorbuthappy · 21/07/2012 08:07

I am not happy.
I went down to 10 9 week before last.
Went back up to 10 11. TOTM.
Done a week of Shredding and being good. Still 10 11.
What's the point in exercising if it doesn't help you lose weight?
AngryAngry

InMySpareTime · 21/07/2012 08:14

Exercising turns fat to muscle, so the "weight" is muscle, which burns calories more efficiently. You should also look more toned and feel better in yourself.

Eggrules · 21/07/2012 09:41

poorbuthappy I am back up to my starting weight. Day 5 of shred done and I feel loads better.

Off out for dinner tonight.

StealthPolarBear · 21/07/2012 09:46

Poor :(

Totm always gets me like that too

KatoPotato · 21/07/2012 09:50

Well I was out on the lash again last night. Had 8 vodka sodas which I MFP at 25 each (yeah?!) resisted takeaway temptation and came home and oven baked two falafels! Would have broken someone's arm for a deep fried battered haggis mind you...

MilkshakeMaker · 21/07/2012 10:02

Hello again everyone, my batteries for the scales turned up this morning.. finding it very hard not weigh myself today but figured 2 more days of damage control is the way forward! Will have been 2 weeks since I weighed myself (excluding friends one as all factors were different) Having a family get together today so hoping the 45 min walk each way will help with the frankie and benny's I will no doubt get out voted to go to.

Everyone seems to be back on track, something must have been in the air the other day because no one was feeling it, glad it has passed.
