Hair you may most certainly not be fat or ugly, you weigh a darn sight less than me and are a good 6 inches taller!
Also, you know full well you look greatSmile.
I joined MFP, it put me on 1200 cals a day, but I haven't put in all my walking yet.

Hello shrinkers. RL has been horribly hectic for the last week and I took a giant tumble from the wagon involving chocolate cake, ice cream and cheese, but I'm baaaaacck, baby yeah!

Well done on all the weight loss. Just think, in a week it'll be sunny (trust me) and we'll all be showing off our trimmer selves in those summer clothes that haven't seen life outside the wardrobe for a while..

I've reserved the John Briffa book from the library, has anyone read it? Escape The Diet Trap. He's a low-carb advocate and as I'm finding that route quite easy and effective so far apart from the aforementioned cake I thought I'd give it a whirl.

TheOneWithTheHair · 17/07/2012 09:41

Thanks InMySpareTime. You know how to make me feel better! Grin

KatoPotato · 17/07/2012 10:17

Thanks for the truly lovely comments, Its a very clever angle indeed, I am a fatty bum bum!!

IS anyone joining my cauliflower crusade? - If you're thinking low carb, this could be your friend! I do enjoy my wraps and pitas and peanut butter cups far too much to go totally low carb, but minus the gout caulie is rocking my world right now!

Tonight it's back to Zumba, with grilled pork loin and parsnip chips for dinner!
Lunch is dangerous, I have to past the shop that sells white lion bars...

Eggrules · 17/07/2012 10:52

I'm back too. Blush Well done losers, maintainers and tryers.

I have been lurking but didn't want to post until I had something positive to write. My net weight loss over 3 1/2 weeks is a dire 1/2lb.

I was much lighter at my post post-partum six week check up than I am now - 5 years later. I was slim until I was 30ish and have slowly put on weight since then. I don't think that I've lived the life of Riley, but I am far less careful about watching what I ate and stopped exercising. Getting trim and healthy isn't rocket science but it I am finding it really hard. I need to be disciplined from the start of the day. If I slip I just kid myself that I can start start tomorrow.

I have started again TODAY and have done day 1 of 30 Day Shred and meals planned with Food Focus. Grin

I am on level minus 5; no weights and I had to walk on the spot for some cardio. I just answered the door looking like this >>>Angry and 'glowing'. Having a shower and straightening my hair was a big mistake. I was going to do it before the school run and I am so glad I waited. I need to work this into the start of my day so I start well.

I have a weekend away planned with friends in around 8 weeks; I want to take clothes that don't currently fit.

Looking forward to Thursday's weigh in.

Thanks eightytwenty I am determined to persist. I need to work up to level 1 - with baked bean tins. I like the way it is so short and a daily session seems doable. Starting was the hardest part.

wherearemysocks · 17/07/2012 12:55

Well Tuesdays are definately a better day to weigh in, I have lost 2.5lbs, so that's 5.5 in total now and I'm very nearly in the 11 stone club, I am now 12 stone exactly.

I am helping on a school trip today so mwy have to force myself to shred tonight when I get home.

Kato I'm definaÞely gonna try some of your cauliflower ideas later they sound very good. I'll have to break the association though that cauliflower should be served with cheese sauce. :)

chipsandmayonnaise · 17/07/2012 13:20

well done everyone! I am feeling inspired reading you all. :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 17/07/2012 13:53

Well done socks. That's great. :)

MilkshakeMaker · 17/07/2012 17:09

I've had a terrible day, found out a heffa friend weighs less than me and she's a 18 so I convinced myself I've been deluded and can't be fitting in my 14s if she's a 18 and less than me, felt like all my hard work was gone, so I ate a fatty chicken wrap thing and a amazing cream cake then, it dawned on me I was weighing on different scales, and different time and just after breakfast plus I'm inches taller so was being stupidly stupid. And a bit mean!

Will have to have a word with myself I think. Tut.

MilkshakeMaker · 17/07/2012 17:20

I hope I didnt sound like too much of a twat then, just had a bit of a shock as she's always been bigger than me all our lives so to find out I'm actually over 1/2 stone heavier was a bit of a knock. Please dont hate me!

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheHair · 17/07/2012 17:23

Height counts for a lot and it's easy to overlook. Have a peek at the Tongan women's support thread. There are masses of different heights and dress sizes on there. Don't feel bad Milkshake.

MilkshakeMaker · 17/07/2012 17:40

Well from now on I will stick to my own scales first thing in the morning(when I find them blooming batteries) and not compare myself with others as so many different factors go into it.

Socks well done bet you feel great!

Hair I'm so jealous that you had wine, I really want to have a glass but i just dont trust myself to leave it in the fridge, I'll drink the whole bottle and probably be sick!

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheHair · 17/07/2012 17:43

The wine was good but not worth the feeling that I have undone all my effort. :(

When do the batteries arrive Milkshake?

Eggrules · 17/07/2012 18:31

Had pasta and pesto with half the normal portion replaced with savoy cabbage. Melon for afters and it was lovely. Must NOT snack tonight...

MilkshakeMaker · 17/07/2012 18:36

I've just bought some online now as cant find them anywhere its 3-5 days for delivery so hopefully in time for mondays weigh in.

Is your weigh in on mondays too Hair if it is then you will have 6 days to redeem yourself which can be easily done. Find that seatbelt on that wagon and strap up!!

TheOneWithTheHair · 17/07/2012 18:38

Yes Monday. Problem is I'm dying to finish the other half of the bottle. Hmm

StealthPolarBear · 17/07/2012 18:59

I'm back. Thanks for all the kind words. I'm feeling a bit better. And stuck to diet yesterday and todays going well so far. I cannot wreck this. Milkshake, thanks especially for your kick up the bum, I needed it

StealthPolarBear · 17/07/2012 19:03

Oh and have you seen those "how tall, how much do you weigh and what size are you?" Threads? So much variation, even people same height and weight can be wearing 2 sizes different. So, in the spirit of a gentle kicking, stop wallowing in it and see it as motivation. You can do this!

marriedinwhite · 17/07/2012 19:06

Welcome back.

wherearemysocks · 17/07/2012 19:08

Well done stealth.

I've just been going through my MFP and just realised I've not snacked at all today, which for me is unheard of! I don't know if it's because I'm low carbing so no sugar highs and lows or because of a hypno app I've been listening to, oddboots I think you have been listening to it too, do you think it is changing the way you eat?

Kato, I've just had some cauliflower purée, I mixed it with a couple of tbl spoons of coconut milk. It was very nice, and filling too.

MilkshakeMaker · 17/07/2012 19:12

I knew I could help Stealth !! Grin

Hair You could always starve yourself for the day and down the bottle and get it out the way?? That way you could still be under your cals for the day??!

OP posts:
InMySpareTime · 17/07/2012 19:21

I started MFP today, but I still have 593 calories left today despite being less than generous with my exercise, and not even counting 30 minutes teaching yoga to preschoolers. Something must be off there, I just did a normal day to see what my baseline was, and given my weight I simply cannot be routinely under caloriesConfused.
