I have tried and tried and tried and only been a little bit bad. If I just have a coffee tomorrow morning and a fruit salad for lunch I really hope that I will be a 1lb down. Please, please .......... That will make it 4lb in three weeks. DH has been really nice and has said "just keep going even if you only lose 3lb every month you will be more than a stone lighter at least by Christmas". How happy would I be with that Grin.

wherearemysocks · 08/07/2012 20:55

stealth have you thought about some kind of chocolate substitute? I know it's sometimes suggested to just have a couple of pieces of dark chocolate instead but I love dark chocolate so I would still eat as much of that. I get the little slim fast or Atkins chocolate bars as i do need to have a little sweet treat all the time every now and then.

Well I've had an extremely lazy day doing sweet fa except watching too much tv and picking too much. Althought I'm quite pleased I've managed to stay away from the carbs, even though dh came home from the shops with a fresh loaf of tiger bread and butter - just typing that is makin me drool. Must think of the scales tomorrow.

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2012 20:58

you mean like a curly wurly?

Yes, I tried the dark choclate thing, it's OK but I don't actually like it, and so craved (and ate) as much milk chocolate as ever!
It's fine, I can usually apply willpower, apart from at certain times. I seem to do this about once a month!

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2012 21:23

Furcoigh that's brilliant!

I have had a dreadful weekend diet wise due to too much wine and snacking no willppwer own body weight in dairy milk a hectic schedule. But will get back to it tomorrow. Please make me, I have realised I'm actually generally happier when I'm in control of my eating . Obviously when I've got a mouthful of dairy milk I may disagree but in general it is true. I have a degree of self loathing at the moment and feel fat and ashamed.
However exercise is something else. As you've said below I am struggling to make time to do shred. Well not so much Tje 20 mins for shred but the shower after - just seems like a waste of time. I'd struggle to do it before kids up but maybe I just need to make more efffort.

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2012 21:24

Irony is I enjoy it! Well don't hate it while I'm doing it, can keep up, love the subsequent high and feel like it would give quick results . I want to do it!

Dear Scales,

It's weigh in day tomorrow. You were dropping down another pound today, please do that, and stay there, tomorrow, or I'll cry. Yes, I KNOW eating Subway was a bad idea, but I was hungry, and had done such an intense workout at the gym I was shaking. I'm sure my body will have used the footlong sandwich and drink... and cookie to give me the energy to get home on the bus.

So please move in the right direction tomorrow.

Yours,
LV.

friendly7 · 08/07/2012 22:27

Good luck! I wish I'd weigh myself once a week. I jump on scales in the morning and in the evening and sometimes I want to scream at my scales...

LollipopViolet · 08/07/2012 22:30

Oh I weigh every day, but I record a weight once a week on here and on MFP.

MilkshakeMaker · 09/07/2012 06:45

Morning, Big welcome to everyone, can't do bold as on my phone but friendly, you really are aren't you!

I've never stuck to a thread this long I always wonder off bored but you lot are so supportive and lovely so thank you

Soppiness over, its weigh in day and scales say I've lost ... 4lb... I'm a bit sceptical at that so will do it again before I leave for work but if that's the case will be a total of 5lb lost since this thread! Yay!

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 09/07/2012 06:51

Great Milkshake, well done you!

I've just hopped on the scales for my official weigh in and lost 3lbs this week. I sneaked on the scales on Friday and had lost 2 1/2 lbs then, so not that good over the weekend.....be sure your sins will find you out Grin Blush

Onwards and upwards to us all.

OddBoots · 09/07/2012 06:56

Great stuff this morning, well done! :)

May I say onwards and downwards, FlatCap! Grin

travellingwilbury · 09/07/2012 07:01

Good morning all , I am back from my weekend away , I had a wedding which was mostly lots of yummy food and then a weekend with family which was also mostly yummy food , weigh in today and I have lost one pound . Which isn't great but tbh I thought I would have put everything back on so I am pleased that I have gotten away with it .

Well done to all the losers and I promise to do the shred of evil today and get back on track !

slothprincess · 09/07/2012 08:06

Weigh in for me today too. I've lost 3 pounds, which I'm delighted about. I've got my baby's christening next sunday, so I'm hoping I'll feel good in my outfit (it was rather tight at a wedding in May).

Welcome to the new faces. I hope you have a good first week.

Congrats to the other "losers" this week. Everyone needs to keep posting abou their exercise achievements as I am inspired and encouraged by you all.

To those who have been struggling, today is a fresh day and a fresh week.

wherearemysocks · 09/07/2012 08:15

Well done everyone.

I've only lost 1lb this week :(

So 3lbs in two weeks. Quite disappointed by that to be honest. I'm following a low carb diet which when I've done before the weight has come off a lot quicker. I think I'm gonna really look at what I'm eating and make sure I track every little morsal, although I am pretty good at the moment, I guess I'm gonna have to be quite vigilant with checking portion sizes etc.

So frustrating though, I've got a hen weekend in 4 and a half weeks and I really was hoping to drop a dress size by then.

Well here's hoping for a better week this week, keep going everyone, you're all doing really well.

FurCough · 09/07/2012 08:49

Gosh, it was a tough weekend, wasn't it? I didn't even have a holiday or celebration as an excuse for giving in to temptation. Didn't go toooo nuts, but I'm packing to move house at the moment and found a forgotten half-full box of Lindor Balls at a moment of fatigue and.. well.. you can guess the rest.

I'm all in for a fresh start.

Well done everyone for all the losses. marriedinwhite that's a very inspiring point from your DH about how getting a stone off by christmas only requires shifting less than a pound a week.

Welcome new losers Grin

If anyone has any particularly delish recipes, especially ones that are low-fat and low-carb please share! I think DH is getting bored of tuna salad and the like Blush even though I make him a big steaming pile of carbs to have to himself on the side.

hi girls, well, I was weighing every day and I have to say my scales are showing different figures so I can't say for sure but I think, I hope, i've lost half a kg this week.
Good luck everyone :)
I need to loose 7,5 kg to reach my target and I need to get my waist smaller so lot's to do...

LollipopViolet · 09/07/2012 12:32

Bah. I've maintained.

Which is good - but I was hoping for a loss. Ah well, slowly off stays off I suppose.

I've got another new dress - size 18, but that's because it's quite figure hugging and anything else would've looked horrible - for graduation on Friday :)

A pound or two off over the week would just make it fit that bit nicer. We shall see.

ssmile · 09/07/2012 14:47

Hello can I join you, I've been on a few threads since Jan and lost 33lbs in total (waves at eightytwenty), I need to keep motivated as want to drop another 7lbs to get hopefully into some size 12 jeans and my BMI to a healthy level. I do Shred 2-3x a week its been Fab toning me up brilliantly, and walk a hr a day on school run with baby most days plus use MFP to keep track of my calories.

I only maintained this week, too much chocolate, wine and a Burger King with my daughter on sat Blush, was very annoyed with myself as didn't even enjoy it that much and was horrified when I got home and looked on net to see I'd eaten 1000c in one chicken burger &fries (which I didn't finish).

KatoPotato · 09/07/2012 14:57

It's a maintain from me... bloody scales are hooky i reckon! - I'm due my official weigh and measure at the Gym on Thursday, so I'm a bit terrified... once I have my measurements on paper it's my intention to start the shred... yikes!

WifiNappies · 09/07/2012 14:58

Please may I join? I need to lose a stone and half, I'm currently 11stone exactly. My DD's first birthday is at end of September which seems a sensible aim.

I am doing it by cutting out nearly all alcohol, eating less on an evening, and exercising more (doing Couch to 5k, I might also get this Shred I keep hearing about on here, and X-training in front of Corrie). I am considering Weightwatchers.

I am a terrible grazer and have very little free time so it's not going to be easy!

friendly7 · 09/07/2012 15:48

Everyone is so very welcome! It's fun to try to loose together :)
Good luck to us all!!!

lauratheexplorer · 09/07/2012 15:51

I've consumed around 800 calories today. I'm leaving room for tuna on toast for dinner. Not an amazing dinner but I'm out of shopping until tomorrow and apart from Heinz soup and some pasta it's all we have.

Going to take the dog for a nice hour long walk before dinner with my headphones on and power walk it in some leggings and trainers. Considering doing a two hour session in the gym this week too and putting the children into the play gym childcare thing they have. I love how I feel after a good sweaty workout.
