Morning everyone.

It was nearly two weeks ago that I first posted, not very confidently wanting to shift a few pies. I've never really successfully lost any weight before through diet but I'm glad I gave it a go as I have lost five pounds since then Grin

I'm wearing a pair of size 14 jeans that I thought would never grace my backside again Grin Grin

Can't wait until the GP has given me the all-clear to exercise too. I'm beginning to actually want to. Blimey.

Bloody well done to all the losers.

How are the shredders getting on? Are you finding the time to stick at it every day?

MilkshakeMaker · 07/07/2012 08:46

FurCough thats fantastic, you must be so pleased! Incredible! So thats all just diet and no exercise? I think I want your meal plan!

And Melody Thats Amazing too, I bet you feel great!

I've only lost 3lb since this thread started...but thats 3lb lighter than i've been for a long time so i'm still pleased and eager for more!

MelodyPondering · 07/07/2012 09:10

I was very Shock that's for sure!

Some fantastic losses, well done everyone!

I'm afraid I gave in to the Friday night wine when it called...lots of empty calories, oh Bugger. Was bloody lovely though!

Fingers crossed it won't affect the scales too much though.

I'm loving the shred fur but I have two days off a week, its quite full on so I want to be careful with it....day off today because I'm hungover a bit achey, then back to it tomorrow.

MilkshakeMaker · 07/07/2012 09:16

I keep not doing the shred, I mean to but its easier for me to do it in the evenings when ds is asleep, but by the time i get him to bed i'm knackered and cant face a work out... Not sure how to fix that one...

OP posts:
MelodyPondering · 07/07/2012 09:35

I try to do it in the morning but I've got flexi time so can turn up to work as late as 10 so can do it when the kids have gone to school. How old is your Ds? Could you do it before he gets up (I have attempted this almost on a daily basis, I have managed to drag my fat are out of bed before the kids once, just once!)

MilkshakeMaker · 07/07/2012 10:09

On work days I already have to get up at half 5 to shower before he wakes (he's 2 and a human tornado!) He's awake from 6am if not earlier and I dont think i could phyically make myself get up at 5am to shred! To be fair though I havnt actually had a bash whilst ds is up, He may actually let me!

OP posts:
MelodyPondering · 07/07/2012 10:35

Bloody Hell. No, 5am wake up to shred is not going to work! I would do it when he's in bed, I find it difficult to answer their questions if I do it when they're around.

MilkshakeMaker · 07/07/2012 12:00

Thats why when i get him to bed I'm ready for bed myself! Just going to have to give myself a kick every time I feel like just vegging on the sofa! A woman at work said to use the tv crew trick(meant to be method for parenting if you know your being watched you are on your best behaviour) that could work for diets and exercise too ?

Gym tomorrow!!! Grin

I've maintained through my period, something that is unheard of for me. I always gain but seem to have stayed the same this time.

Will weigh in officially tomorrow I think, before the gym.

Oh I am rather excited - the weight training is working as I have teeny tiny bicep muscles visible within my flabby arms now! :)

marriedinwhite · 07/07/2012 22:31

I have been bad last night and today.

chipsandmayonnaise · 08/07/2012 07:49

I have been VERY bad Friday and yesterday. And i had lost two pounds on Friday! Oh well- back on the wagon today and there is a playground a 90 minute round trip (walking) which I will take the DCs to.

I got home on Friday to discover friends had dropped in with champagne for no good reason, so that went, plus half a roast chicken. Blush then yesterday it was a pub lunch thanks to the bloody awful weather and a huge plate of hungarian meatball stew for dinner with noodles.

Oh well- I did go spinning yesterday. So that was something!

Now I am committing myself to grilled meat and salads and no alcohol until my next weigh in on Tuesday... no make it Wednesday!

FurCough · 08/07/2012 08:55

Milkshake ah yes - the TV crew trick is what makes me pretend I'm presenting my own cooking show whenever I'm in the kitchen Blush

My meal plan isn't anything flash, I've just cut out as many 'white' carbs as I can and ditched the chocolate and cheese. Dinners have been lean meat or fish with a big salad or green veg. The other night I baked a pork loin in some soy, lime and 5-spice and served it up with loads of cabbage and leeks. Stuff like that, really. It's still early days but I hardly ever feel hungry and my energy levels seem more balanced now I'm eating less sugar.

Problem with this high protein diet is that it's a bit more expensive at a time when I'm a bit skint. Worth it, hopefully!

wherearemysocks · 08/07/2012 10:09

Well my diet plan today is there is no food in the house and I can't be bothered to go shopping Blush. I suppose I'll have to go at some point though as I don't think I can get away with not feeding the kids.

I haven't shredded this weekend but I have done about 6 hrs of painting over the last two days so that should count for something.

I plan on having a rest day today and relax and watch the grand prix and the tennis.

LollipopViolet · 08/07/2012 13:29

Well, I've been bad today - and after a gym visit too :(

Footlong Subway - ooops, thought chicken and bacon was healthy, according to MFP, no, it isn't.

I've logged dinner already, and even taking my exercise into account, I have 14 calories left (I also logged any drinks I'm planning to have that aren't water). Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Could be worse, could be fish and chips like I'd sometimes have for lunch in the bad old days.

whatlauradid · 08/07/2012 13:35

Can I join? I'm starting tomorrow (for about the 50th time but I'll get there). I'm a size 18 planning on being a size 12. I have around four stone to lose before I get there, six to be my 'ideal' weight. I'll be tracking calories (1400 calories a day) through myfitnesspal.com and exercising using the Jillian Michaels DVD's from home as I don't have a lot of spare time.

OddBoots · 08/07/2012 14:00

It's great that everyone is being so honest here and in that spirit I've had a couple of bad days but I've been back on track since lunch yesterday. Goodness knows what the scales will say on Tues but it it's up then I have myself to blame.

I'm trying to boost my will power with the virtual gastric band hypnosis CD and it does feel like it's helping.

friendly7 · 08/07/2012 14:03

Hello whatlauradid, good luck with your weight loss. Your plan sounds cool!
Happy Sunday to everyone :)
I'm trying (not always successfully) to reduce my portion sizes and have healthy snacks, cut right down on sugar, biscuits, cakes, ice cream and white bread. Replaced with fruit, veg, nuts, have now fruit and herbal teas, one to two cups of coffee with honey. Moderate work out, mainly dancing to Abba for 15-20 minutes a day, walking.
Good luck to everyone.

whatlauradid · 08/07/2012 14:36

Everyone's journeys are so inspiring. It makes me feel that I can do it.

friendly7 · 08/07/2012 15:46

Yes, of course you can!!!
I too feel that the success stories are very inspiring :)

whyme2 · 08/07/2012 17:10

I am feeling rather Blush at the moment having had a weekend off plan so to speak. But Monday is just around the corner.

I have eaten all kinds of crap, had a drink but I have walked miles thanks to looking after my friends dog while they are on holiday so it must count for something.
Anyway I can't imagine I have lost anything but I expect to have stayed the same which is positive.

And tomorrow will be good healthy food and lots of dog walking.

friendly7 · 08/07/2012 17:16

Dog walking is a fantastic way to loose weight. You need to be outside and it is much better than any gym. Dogs tend to run and make us run with them so I'm sure you are doing really well. And with healthy diet tomorrow you'll be doing even better :)

Hi.

Can I join?
Had a horrid shock this mornign when I logged into the Wii fit thingie for the first time in 245 days (yes really) and I'd piled on a huuuuuuuuge amount of weight. I knew I would have put some on (had a bad last 12 months, very stressful, stupidly busy and prone to comfort eating) but......

So, I need to do something!!!! wondered about lopping off a limb as a quick way to lose some weight but see that I'm going to have to be sensible and it properly.

I'm going to use kilos and BMI as if I use imperial I will cry and want to eat cake, not the best start.

So, it was 94.8 kg, Shock and BMI of 29.1 Shock Shock Shock - am v tall otherwise it would have been even worse.

NotWilliamBoyd · 08/07/2012 20:21

Oh gosh and no offence/insult/lightheartedness intended for anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have limb amputated for real reasons!

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2012 20:22

Hi notqilliam, hope your life is gettig easier and :o to looping off a limb
Eighty that sounds do-able well done

My ahem absence from this thread is through shame. I have eaten enough chocolate in the last 24h to have you mere mortals keeling over in a diabetic coma. I will be back to catch up on the thread, confess and re commit.
