I know.

As shallow as it sounds, i want to be the girl at the gym that walks round in her running leggings and sports bra with abs you could bounce coins off!

For a low cal pudding, i have a meringue and strawberrys.

Or Those Cadbury Light trifles, although i think they are about 4 points. I will get my thinking cap on!

wherearemysocks · 03/07/2012 22:07

eighty It's a high tech pedometer basically. It tells me how many steps I've done, how far I've travelled, how many flights of stairs I've climbed, and crucially how many calories I've burned. It links up to a web site so you put in height weight etc so it works out cals quite accurately. It also links up with MFP so whenever I sync it with the base it then uploads to website and automatically syncs with MFP.

So today my fitbit says I have burned 3000 cals throughout the day, it then works out (somehow don't really know how), that I get an extra 1100 cals on MFP so my goal for cals today is 2300 cals.

If you google it (sorry don't know how to do a link) then it will probably explain its features better.

KatoPotato · 03/07/2012 22:25

Oooh my fitbit should be coming soon!!

wherearemysocks · 03/07/2012 22:38

Word of warning with it though Kate, I managed to break my first one when I went on a long run and it got too sweaty. If you wear it when you exercise make sure you use the clip thing for it.

wherearemysocks · 03/07/2012 22:42

Ooo just realised that was kato not Kate, sorry.

Cheers socks... I planned to wear it on my bra but I imagine that could be sweaty central!

MammaTo2boys · 04/07/2012 04:06

Lollipop well done on your degree.
kate well done on your loss.
I've not heard of this fitbit thingy but now going to look at it, sounds interesting

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 04/07/2012 05:12

So here goes, day 1.

14 stone 10 lbs.

MelodyPondering · 04/07/2012 07:58

Congratulations on your degree Lollipop! Smile

And well done everyone who has lost (grumble, I should have lost too, piss, moan...)

I've had two days now of easing off a bit, ny dh is convinced I'm not eating enough. Now as much as I like hearing that, I cannot imagine its true. But I am going to try and eat all my points this week to see if there is any difference.

Also, it the totm, so that's bound to have an effect, right?

Right, I'm going to drag my fat bum out of bed, shred L1 D6 here I come!

OddBoots · 04/07/2012 08:05

Well done everyone, loss or not the fact you are still posting means you haven't gone 'stuff it' - that's an achievement!

I lost 1.5lbs this week, not loads but a move in the right direction, I must stay focused!

FurCough · 04/07/2012 08:25

Morning all. OddBoots Congrats on the loss, that's a really good amount to lose for sustainable weight loss, I reckon. I've not said 'stuff it' yet either and I've nearly done a whole week without any cheating. Unheard of, for I Am FurCough and I Am A Glutton Grin

Melody to my (very limited) knowledge, I reckon it's pretty important to eat all your allowance of points / calories to avoid starvation mode. I tell myself that it'd be a right bastard if I cut down so much that my body panicked and held on to the weight I'm trying to lose.

As regular viewers will know, I am the biggest dunce in Diet 101 but that's how I understand it!

chipsandmayonnaise · 04/07/2012 09:22

Morning all. Congrats to the 'losers'.

I have had a couple of days off, but am back and raring to go this morning. Just we had two parties back to back so I thought stuff it. Mind you, I did notgo too crazy.

Toast and boiled egg for breakfast- ham and salad for lunch and a small serving of linguine with prawns and salad for dinner. Plus my 2nd spinning class this afternoon, if DH gets back from work in time. :)

will weigh in on Friday.

Eggrules · 04/07/2012 09:32

Why did I weigh myself this morning? 1lb on.

Off to write lines 'I must only weigh myself on Thursday and Monday'.

Need to plan my meals for today. Got loads of eggs...

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/07/2012 09:40

Morning everyone. Congratulations on your degree lollipop. :)

I need help and reassurance today please. I am going away for 4 days tomorrow without the dcs can't wait and dh has ideas of good food, wine, lazing about etc. How can I make sure I don't put on my lost 4lbs and more whilst still enjoying my holiday? Is it a lost cause? Should I just redouble my efforts when we get back?

Also reassurance that you will remember that I joined this thread so won't be Confused when I get back?

whyme2 · 04/07/2012 10:05

Hi everyone,
I had a good day yesterday - even managed to sneak a cornetto in as I was helping my friend move house so spent 5 hours packing boxes and shifting stuff. Must have earnt my ice cream!

TOWTH if you are completely dc free then can you plan a couple of swims or long walks. Where are you going? Any chance of some activity. I don't think it has to be loads but it can help keep you focused and let you enjoy nice food guilt free. Hope you have a wonderful time am only slightly jealous

Congratulations to Lollipop - well done. And I think a subway is pretty healthy as long as you stay away from the cookies . . .

MammaTo2boys · 04/07/2012 11:14

TOWTH remember portion control, don't just eat loads and loads just for the sake of it and try and eat freshly prepared foods, stay away from lots of processed foods and agree with above comment, add a bit of execrise, maybe even Sexercise Grin, lots of that.

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/07/2012 11:45

Thanks guys. I'm going to Tel Aviv in Israel. It's right on the beach so hopefully I will be able to swim loads.

I think portion control may be my saving grace so thanks for the reminder. And there will definitely be loads of sexercise. Grin

travellingwilbury · 04/07/2012 17:36

I feel poorly , all shaky and bleurgh .
Rubbish timing , no exercise today and we are away tomorrow till Sunday to see family which will be tricky enough food wise without feeling rubbish .

Berrocca and lemsip have been bought , wish me luck .

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/07/2012 18:02

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish travelling. Hope you feel better soon.

Good luck with the diet this weekend.

LollipopViolet · 04/07/2012 18:17

I feel bleugh - have had a headache most of the day and feel like I've been squashed by a 20 tonne articulated truck.

Think it's because I was on shoot yesterday and had time for 1 drink all day til I got home. But I drank lots when I got home, so I can't still be dehydrated now, can I??

Better go away for the morning, got another shoot...

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2012 19:23

Hair, build in exercise and just try not to go too mad. Bit don't calorie count and do enjoy yourself :o I'm so jealous, dying to go away with dh!
Travelling, sorry you're feeling awful
I'm not convinced about starvation mode Tbh. Some sources seem to say it only applies in extreme cases ie literally starving. Others say its only a problem for some people. But there's nothing authoritative on it either way so I could well be wrong. I think the reasons to eat near your cal limit are nutrition and improving your chances of sticking to the diet long term

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2012 19:24

That said I'm a big hypocrite, have had 250 cal today
