You ladies are seriously impressing me with your exercising.

I had a bit of a slip up last night. Had done brilliantly all week at just eating well with healthy snacks and I'd already lost 2 1/2 pounds according to the scales yesterday morning. But last night we went to a wedding reception and they had a cake made of wheels of cheese as well as an ordinary cake. Unfortunately I sampled rather a lot of both kinds!!! Bit cross at myself.

We're off to a BBQ later so I'm hoping I can exercise some will power and not graze on the unhealthy bits Sad.

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 10:57

Don't worry Sloth I have done no exercise apart from the school run which is probably only 2miles a day done very slowly because I have a three year old in tow who spends a lot of time going in the wrong direction. Grin

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2012 11:16

Ladies, I have a problem.

I think I'm addicted to exercise. I ache from yesterday, but in my head keep thinking, "What can I do at home today so I've done SOMETHING?"

I have the Shred. Did it once and it nearly killed me. Might lug the Wii downstairs so I can do Wii Fit again, but I HATE going on that scale, always puts me as LIGHTER than I am, so I get disappointed when my regular scale shows me as heavier :(

FurCough · 01/07/2012 12:07

Walking burns the same exercise as running? Best Fact Ever! I hate running.

KatoPotato · 01/07/2012 12:20

Happy sunday ladies and welcome Lollipop! Well today is my day off from excercise! I'm feeling a bit guilty about not being active, but it's my mum's birthday so need to behave myself around cake and party nibbles!!

Tomorrow is official weigh in for me! Thanks to a quidco offer I'm doing WW online (and MFP!?) and I've still got all my weeklies and excercise points left... There will be tears and snot if I've not lost!

I'm going to start the shred after my official measurements at the gym in a fortnight, that way I can get remeasured officially too after the shred - I fear I would cheat myself otherwise!

Thanks again for this thread and keep up the good work!

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2012 12:55

Well, I can't find any of the discs for the Wii :(

I MIGHT try the Shred again after I've eaten something and let it settle.

I was surprised how well I did at spinning so maybe I'm now fit enough for the Shred...

chipsandmayonnaise · 01/07/2012 13:01

Well, I am not doing at all well today. We always, but always have a 'post-church-sherry' (whether we have been to church or not) and I had one, then had two then thought 'stuff it' and inhaled a fair proportion of the DCs chicken kievs and mashed pots that they had for lunch. Feeling very despondent, and as if that i will never be slim, so why bother?

I need to pull myself up, and go for a walk or something. ALL I have to do (I tell myself) is lose a bit over a pound a week! for a little while. That is not much!! Why can I not ALLOW myself the chance to do this diet properly??

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 13:02

FurCough that little fact has just made my day. Grin

chipsandmayonnaise · 01/07/2012 13:02

So, I have just poured myself a glass of water and I am off to do housework. And to try and snap myself out of my misery.

[grumpy]

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 13:05

Chips :(. You can do it. Start again from now and don't beat yourself up about it or you'll end up like me obsessing over half a chocolate biscuit. :)

chipsandmayonnaise · 01/07/2012 13:12

Oh yes, I would totally OBSESS over half a biscuit! I have had to almost physically stop myself from thinking 'well I have blown it now' and eating everything in the fridge.

Thanks. :) I am a bit of a perfectionist and am very nasty to myself if I fall short. I am sure there are more than a few of us like this on this thread!

wherearemysocks · 01/07/2012 16:28

I remember seeing that about running burning as many cals as walking about 25yrs ago on playschool. It does over the same distance, ie walking a mile is the same as running a mile, but running for 30 mins obviously burns more cals than walking 30mins.

chips, I used to be like you where I would get so despondent after one slip. It's taken a long time to really get to grips with it not actually mattering that much (as long it's not everyday). I went out for a meal twice this week, made pretty good choices for the main meal, but had a dessert both times. And I'm still confident that when I weigh in tomorrow there will be a loss (hope I haven't jinxed myself there).

Lollipop, go easy on the exercise, don't forget you need a rest day too.

slothprincess · 01/07/2012 16:57

chips, I'm with you on the bad day thing. After my slip up at the wedding reception yesterday I inhaled a burger and 2 cupcakes with cream on at a BBQ today Sad Sad. I too am struggling to engage my willpower and not go mental eating myself out of house and home.

travellingwilbury · 01/07/2012 19:46

Sunday is a tough day , I have had a beer but I did play tennis and my children had a chippy tea and I didn't steal any , where is my medal ?

Fingers crossed for tomorrow .

MilkshakeMaker · 01/07/2012 20:39

Just thought i've give another check in before I go and kill myself with exercise bike and shread.

I was fine today till after lunch when the biscuits came out, not only did I stuff my face, I ate all of ds's dropped, chewed and half eaten ones he left on the floor plate after going off them. Not my finest hour!

You have to be meaner to me. Be nice to everyone else but shame me into not doing it again. It's your mission should you all choose to accept it.

Can I ask a random question, if a dress with a side zip goes sticky outy at the hip is that the dress or my hideous body?

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 20:46

Travelling not even 1 chip?

Milkshake - NO MORE TAKING DS'S BISCUITS!!!!

Is that stern enough?

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2012 20:47

Well, I ended up doing nothing exercise wise - too achey and don't want to hurt myself.

Off to the gym tomorrow, it's my mum's birthday tomorrow and we usually have a takeaway on birthdays, so need to burn some calories to make it not as bad!

It's also nearing my time of the month and I'm scared of the scales going up by a pound or so like the normally do - although I've not had my usual urge to eat junk - yay!

travellingwilbury · 01/07/2012 20:51

Milkshake ! Don't be such a piglet ! Get on that bike and work your arse off !

Tomorrow you will be telling us all how much you have lost and that thought should keep you going .

Or you will end up like me , my 8 yr old told me last night that his friends have told him that there is only one mum bigger than me than in the class . What kind of annoying children are they ? They are right by the way but that is beside the point .

MilkshakeMaker · 01/07/2012 20:58

Thank you TheOne and traveling very tempted to print the page and stick them comments on the inside of my cupboards... or google a eyebrow raised cats bum face and plaster it over the fridge.. what exactly is that face called?!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2012 21:04

I have not shredded today, pathetic, would have only been day 3. I blame dh, for not getting out of bed early enough for me to do it without the children and their infinite questions about what is that lady doing? What is that? Can I have a go? WAAAAH I need a poo look mummy that lady has a flat tummy why doesn't your tummy look like that mummy, mummy why are you looking so red and cross?
I have also had far too much wine and fattening stuff.
Milkshake, we can be as 'naughty' as we like. Eat all the biscuits you fancy. Ill drink wine and eat choccy. It's fine. But don't expect to lose weight, in fact we'll probably put it on. Your choice, my choice. Results don't come for free

KatoPotato · 01/07/2012 22:06

So are most of us weighing tomorrow? I am but I've just consumed a Chinese takeaway... Oh and it was a naughty one with chips and everything! (measured out 100g in my scales what a cheek I have!)

I'm still within my numbers but I feel gross :(

wherearemysocks · 01/07/2012 22:37

Yes weigh day tomorrow and I too seem to have been picking tonight. Not cakes and biscuits and stuff, I've been managing to stick to healthier stuff just too much of it.

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2012 22:52

Well, I weighed on Friday, BUT, I'll do a post weekend damage weigh in tomorrow too :) I did OK food wise, and great exercise wise, but with me I can never tell. Besides, I want to have lost about 4lbs or so by graduation on the 13th, my clothes will look a tiny bit better then :)

KatoPotato · 01/07/2012 23:11

Just advance warning, I read a bulletin that all bathroom scales are to be hit with a malfunction that may give false readings so best to subract an extra 3pounds just in case ;)

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 23:47

Grin @ Kato.

Stealth I think you've missed the point. Grin

I had half a bottle of red tonight and a pizza take away last night so I expect tomorrow's weigh in to be a flop. :(

Must try harder!
