Just back from spinning. OMG, that is seriously high octane! I was shaky on the drive home..... planning to go again next week!

Marinated pork... today is an easy peasy version. I just got a jar of Odysea brad harissa spicy mezze (red peppers, chilli, garlic etc) then mixed it with lemon juice and a little bit of cumin and smear over pork and let sit. This is grilled. It is pretty tasty and very easy. But generally my go-to marinade for chicken/lamb/steak is lemon juice, garlic, rosemary and white wine.

Good luck lollipop, I've no idea what a spinning marathon is, I've done spinning before but am knackered after 1 session, how long do you have to do to turn it into a marathon or is that a really dumb question Hmm
Polarbear, the shred should just tone you very quickly and enhance weight loss. Have you tried insanity? Another wickedly good workout.
I managed to stay off the chocolate last night, DH bought a toblerone and asked if I wanted to share and I was very brave and said no. Then I watched him eat it and I felt good not to jealous.

KatoPotato · 30/06/2012 14:08

Double Zumba with Curves beasted this morning... Had a whey protein shake straight after and I'm still not hungry!!! I had a bagel and pb before I went, and took a slim a soup (bowk) rather than nothing but this is very exciting! I don't even fancy anything!!

travellingwilbury · 30/06/2012 14:42

Hello all , my dvds still haven't arrived , I can't believe how grumpy I am about it . Now I have made the decision I just want to get on with it .
I have just tried to do the shred again and the stupid laptop switched itself off half way through .

Hopefully going to play tennis with dh and my boys soon , still more than I normally would I suppose , good luck everyone , it looks like everyone is doing really well .

MilkshakeMaker · 30/06/2012 14:56

I'm not! I've just realised I've been flicking between low cal and slimming world, which is silly as all the pasta in the world is still syn free but yet full of cals. I've fell off the exercise wagon too and other than walking i havnt done anything, not looking forward to weigh day now.

How good is everyone else though! Well done, spinning sounds like torture!

I'm back!

Did 2 hours 15 minutes, very proud, but very much aching now.

MammaTo2Boys, two people at my gym started riding spin bikes at 8am this morning and are continuing until 8pm tonight, raising money for 2 charities. People were encouraged to come and spin for as long as they could to help motivate them and to challenge themselves.

I'm not going to be able to move tomorrow, am I?

wherearemysocks · 30/06/2012 17:38

Very impressive Lollipop, 2hrs 15mins that's incredible. Though I don't envy how your legs will feel tomorrow.

I'm very pleased with myself too, though for a different reason. I've just got back from taking dc to a kids birthday party, and I didn't pick at any of the food and even swerved the birthday cake. Small victories I know, but I didn't even feel tempted, so hopefully that's a broken habit.

LollipopViolet · 30/06/2012 17:43

See, I paced myself, probably didn't work as hard as I would if it was one 45 minute class. The fact that one lady doing the 12 hours is a personal trainer meant after the 45 minute class I did, she sort of guided us with the resistance, and we were all laughing and joking, it was really fun!

Not making a habit of it though, my legs are starting to hurt now, and sitting down is quite uncomfortable...

TheOneWithTheHair · 30/06/2012 19:28

LollipopViolet (yes full name Grin ) I am in awe! Very well done to you.

KateSpade · 30/06/2012 19:37

No! Never I will not! He is all mine!

Took my mum to the gym (my mum who has lost 5 stone in about a year) so she can tone up, her insanely skinny long legs - I'm adopted, and look more K-Dash when she's had a big meal..anyway) & we did a good workout. I can feel it in my muscles. Good sign! However, i weight myself on the machine at the gym, I have put in 2lb. I can say that is 100% wrong, or i have problems. I have been so good with my eating and exercising! BASTARDS!

travellingwilbury · 30/06/2012 19:49

Well done lollipop , I am very impressed ! One more day till weigh in and you are all keeping me motivated , Thankyou .

Milkshake , it is hard to find the right plan to suit , I am sure that you will have lost , you are on the right path and determined to get there and I am sure you will , we all will ! I for one have had enough feeling pissed off with my size and shape and lack of good clothes to wear .

TheOneWithTheHair · 30/06/2012 20:16

Kate you must weigh on the same scales at the same time of day or it won't be a true reading. I'm sure with all that exercise (and a hot gym instructor to impress) you won't have put on weight.

travellingwilbury · 30/06/2012 20:20

Kate I agree with theonewiththehair , you need to weigh again tomorrow morning , I will put money on you having lost at least to pounds . Don't lose heart , you are doing all the right things , none of this is rocket science , eat less crap and move around more and the weight will come off .

I have a whole day to go to give a final push before the dreaded weigh in on monday and I am determined not to bugger it up !

travellingwilbury · 30/06/2012 20:22

to pounds = two pounds , stupid keyboard .

KateSpade · 30/06/2012 20:57

Thats what i keep telling myself travelling that its not rocket science. & It was only an hour or two off the usual time of day i weigh myself. I will give it till tuesday for my weigh in & see!

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2012 07:41

Hope usual scales tell a more accurate story!
I am having the weekend off, which is fine but am worried I won't get back into the zone tomorrow. I may need inspiration!

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2012 07:42

Sorry weekend off the strict calorie counting. Still have smaller portions (tho prob not as small as when cal counting) and allowed wine Amd choc. Still doing shred though, it seems quite addictive at the moment :o

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 07:53

Glad you're enjoying shred Stealth. You must be quite fit then.

I has the evening off yesterday. Wine and take away pizza but I ate alot less than normal. I feel bad now though like all my effort last week was waisted in a single evening.

Oh well I'll find out tomorrow.

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2012 08:06

Erm enjoying is definitely not the word! I do so little exerciwe that I suppose I'm just feeling good for doing some. Plus it's never more than 20 mins away from finishing :o yesterday I told dh that if it was below my nose, it ached.

I've done the evening off thing at leasr once or twice a week all the time I've been dieting. Tended to find thhat it makes little impact on your weight. The danger is that you think screw it and slip back into old ways long term. As long as I've been able to start logging everything again, the weight has continued to come off.

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/07/2012 08:28

I have had the "below the nose" ache before but never expressed it so well. Grin

I'm not going to give up and I'm glad to hear that you've had nights off too in the past because no one can deny your success so far.

I might give MFP a try but I've been reluctant to know how much I really eat. Blush Maybe having a new app to play with will do me good.

MelodyPondering · 01/07/2012 08:51

Would it be ok if I joined you all on your way to a size 10 ?

I was on another thread but it seems to have died and I need to feed my obsession with losing the weight otherwise I will fail! Wink

I've been dieting pretty well since Feb, but having weekends off. That meant my loss has been pretty sporadic, but I've managed to go from 13st 7lbs to 11st 12lbs which is progress!

So I'm off on holiday in 5 weeks and my target for that has always been 10st something......so I need to get on with it! So can I join you and embrace my obsession?

Ps I'm on day 5 of the shred today and my god can I feel it?! It will make me thin, right?

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2012 09:36

wow melody that's fantastic!

FurCough · 01/07/2012 09:37

Hi Melody welcome aboard. That's a great weight loss so far. What are your tactics?

My only work-out at the moment is pushing a pram with a hulking 3 yr old on a buggy board. Reckon I did about four miles yesterday. Can't wait for him to start pre-school in Sep so I can do some proper regular exercise.

MelodyPondering · 01/07/2012 10:08

Ah thanks! Smile

Well, I'm doing the old ww,but also low carbing. I've also been known to input it into mfp to check my calories (obsessive is the only way I can do it!)

One day I will lookll

MelodyPondering · 01/07/2012 10:11

Oops post too soon, am clearly shaky after shredding!

Ah thanks! Smile

What I meant to say was one day I will look like jillian Wink

fur that sounds like pretty good exercise to me...did you know walking burns the same calories as running?
