Well done Twill that's fantastic.

Well dropping the chocolate seems to have worked. I've lost 4lbs do I'm now dead on 12st. I hate to think how much chocolate I was eating as I've done no extra exercise.

It's bloody hard though but I really want to do this so I will keep on going.

KateSpade · 29/06/2012 11:08

Travelling You just need to find the right gym!

MammaTo2boys · 29/06/2012 11:22

Hello all, can I join the group?
My DS2 is 19 days old and I want to lose the weight I piled on during pg. I was a size 10 and weighed bwetween 9 st 4lbs ans 9 st 7lbs before getting pg. I weighed myself on Monday and I was 12 stone exactly Blush. I've weighed myself today as I like to do Friday weigh ins and I've lost 3lbs. I've been using myfitnesspal and I've stopped eating lots of cake. I bake a lot and then eat lots of it. Don't like to go slimming clubs in RL but would love to be part of a group on MN.

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 11:33

Hi mamma, welcome :)
Congratulations on your baby. Be kind to yourself and lose weight slowly!

MammaTo2boys · 29/06/2012 11:44

Hi polarbear I only plan to lose 1 lb a week, but I think my body just lost a bit extra this week due to shock by lack of cake munching.

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 11:59

:o

MyMamaToldMe · 29/06/2012 12:02

Hi All, well since joining this thread I haven't been an angel at what I have been eating, but I am more consious of what I am eating now and am trying to pick the healthy version over the not at all healthy version!

I am trying very hard to stop eating chocolate/cakes/ice-cream as they are my downfall. Everytime I want something sweet, I force myself to think about all those empty calories settling around my hips and reach for some fruit or a Nakd Cocoa Loco For all those struggling to give up the chocolate, I really rate these! They are yummy and healthy!! And one really does satisfy that chocolate craving.

I'm also trying to bring salads into work to eat at lunch and trying to reduce my portion size. So far though, no further thought has been given to exercise (other than my daily walk) as I just haven't had the time. You lot are inspiring though with all that you do!!!

NeverAgain2 · 29/06/2012 12:11

KateSpade - can you tell me which gym you go to Wink

Stealth - I am so impressed with your loss, and that you are still going. I need to learn from your determination.

MyMamaToldMe - I can really relate to your issue with chocs, cakes etc. I am trying hard to eat consciously as part of my problem is that it is in my mouth before I even realise it.

Well done everyone - your stories are helping me to keep on track. I seem to be losing about 1lb a day at the moment. Was 12:12 on Monday and am 12:8 this morning - not likely to last at that rate, but I will take anything I can get at the moment.

The weekends always seem to be much tougher for me, so need to try and make sure, at the very least, I don't put anything back on...

FurCough · 29/06/2012 12:39

Hi Mammato2boys congrats on the new baby. I found 2-3 weeks was the crux time for me as to whether I was going to eat healthily or if I was going to give in to the cake, like I did after DS1. I've decided to take the healthy route this time round and I have soooo much more energy. I have two boys too and I need all the energy I can get. Welcome along!

I could do with a gorgeous personal trainer katespade can I borrow yours? And a handsome babysitter to look after the DSs while I work out? Grin

I might weigh myself tomorrow

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 13:09

Just done shred...urgh

NeverAgain2 · 29/06/2012 13:23
TheOneWithTheHair · 29/06/2012 13:27

Well done Stealth :)

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 13:28

,mmm chocolate orange thanks very much :o

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 13:29

anyone know how you add shred to mfp? It doesnt seem to come up as a result

MammaTo2boys · 29/06/2012 13:57

I don't think the shred is on mfp, I used to put it down as circuits as that was the nearest to it. Will be dusting off my shred dvd next week. Did my first run yesterday since having the baby and I'm achey today. I love the shred once its finished, I'm just daunted to start it again, but I know it gets results, so will try and be brave next week. Trying not to do too much exercise too soon this time as I injured my knee after DS1 and had months of physio to correct so I'm going to take it slowly this time round.

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 14:02

How strange! Thanks, think ill just leave it off. Good luck with yours :)

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 20:25

Tell you something though the push ups she made me do really emphasised how.saggy and intoned my stomach is. Was good motivarion for the sit ups!

LollipopViolet · 29/06/2012 20:41

Weeeeell, I sort of had a bad day again Blush

Still came in under calories even after a couple of cocktails with friends this afternoon and a caramel latte, but again, won't be making it a habit.

Have a MEGA spin session tomorrow though - so hopefully in the grand scheme of things, I can redeem myself before next weigh in!

On the plus side, I have some nice new gym clothes, although the bottoms are an 18, but they're essentially running tights so glad I went for the bigger size. The top is also a tiny bit small, but that'll all change - and soon, I hope.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 29/06/2012 20:46

Oh yes the spin marathon. Good luck with it. Let us know how you get on. 45minutes. Shock

chipsandmayonnaise · 30/06/2012 06:47

Morning all!
Well I had a bad couple of days yestersay, and went out for leaving drinks for a work friend last night which featured Indian. Blush

I just pointed out what I had in my weightwatchers book and I had 54 points yesterday!!!!!

Never mind. Today I am going to my first ever spinning session!!!!! I am SO excited, and was inspired by Lollipop's mega spin marathon.

Today's plan; (I need to compensate a bit for yesterday)

breakfast- porridge, fruit and honey
Lunch: home made tomato and spicy red pepper soup with 2 ryvitas, creamcheese and a boiled egg
Dinner: marinated pork with a green salad and lemon dressing.
lots and lots of water!!!!

good luck everyone! I am weighing in on Monday.....

FurCough · 30/06/2012 07:38

Morning shrinkers Grin

I've lost a couple of pounds, which I'm pretty chuffed with. I actually feel like I've lost more, I've definitely lost a bit of girth and I've got more energy already. Hurrah!

Low carb (not no carb) and lots of lean protein and veg is quite good for me as I haven't felt hungry yet.

Bust I have a problem... DH is actually trying to gain weight at the moment as he's a lean and wiry type and is trying to add bulk. So it was hard yesterday to cook one meal that satisfied both of us.

chips marinated pork sounds good - how do you make it?

Good luck to the spinners, you crazy cats!

FurCough · 30/06/2012 07:39

^^But not Bust. Obv.

LollipopViolet · 30/06/2012 08:04

I'm just about to leave for spinning marathon, it will probably kill me, wish me luck!

StealthPolarBear · 30/06/2012 08:17

Good luck Lollipop!
Well done Fur - that sounds very difficult! Could your DH just make little cganges - cereal with full ft milk, cream in coffee, Obv larger portions than you and more meat, potatoes etc?
Im actually kind of looking forward to doing shred again - I really feel like I've had a good workout and can feel the changes in my body starting. Hope it doesnt make me put weight on though!!

OddBoots · 30/06/2012 09:55

Good luck Lollipop!

Fur, could your dh eat what you do (maybe a little more) but add some protein/bulking shakes before/after work outs? There are some very good ones out there in health food shops and even supermarkets now.

I wouldn't worry about Shred making you gain weight Stealth, even if it does short term (unlikely anyway) then the extra muscle will increase your metabolism so yo are less likely to gain fat in the medium to longer term.
