I'm starting this thread early as I'm off to Athens tomorrow, and will be leaving at sparrows fart. (It's mainly for work, although I have a day off on Thursday)

I think we're now a band of mainly hardcore low carbers, although we continue to attract new followers - welcome to you all!

Hopefully, the longer termers will be finding it much easier to follow this WOE and food choices are more automatic. Although I have noticed lots of references to cheesecake and crumble which just will not do if you're wanting the pounds to shift

Let me know how you're all doing - and any tips to share for those for whom the weight loss has slowed down.

SpringGoddess - have added your name to the spreadsheet, but what shall I put in for last Monday's weight?

leanbh21 · 13/06/2012 20:42

BettySuarez I'm on day 4 and feeling quite a lot better today - almost normal in fact.

I don't think I pee'd this much even when I was pregnant!!

Off to put my weight into the thread. Monday weigh-ins, right?

BettySuarez · 13/06/2012 21:16

Thank you leanbh21 that is very reassuring to know.

The weeing is hilarious isn't it?

Good luck and well done on getting to day 4 x

Heartstart · 13/06/2012 21:29

Hi can someone help me please. I know I am missing something v obvious but am not sure what, last week (weigh in b4 last) I lost 7lbs having struggled before was eating too much processed stuff and flax, cut that all out and then lost the 7. This week I stayed the same and was ok with that as I had had a big lose and it was totm. However this morning I have put on a pound which is irritating, but not end of world. But I went back and reviewed my food diary, which I have been keeping on MFP. Everyday, I have neaten less that 1600 calls, not loads less. Kept my carbs low and protein fat high. I have had v small amounts of dairy, black farmers sausages one day as forgot to take meat out of freezer. What am I doing wrong.....

HumphreyCobbler · 13/06/2012 21:48

hello everyone. Still very much in the zone thanks to you guys and finally drinking enough water.

HumphreyCobbler · 13/06/2012 21:49

and tomorrow will be on day four, thank god Grin

DH keeps eating cherry and coconut cake in front of me.

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/06/2012 22:20

Still in zone here too! I am also a daily weigher - I had lost 5lbs since Sunday this morning!!! Today we had some sad news at work and I didn't sort out lunch, but had left over steak when I got home and dinner was three lemon sole fillets and a head of roasted broccoli. Water uptake is getting better although I still need to work on this. I only work mon-weds though so have time for proper breakfast and stuff and to get properly organised now.

Please can you add me to the spreadsheet as I am on phone at mo. starting weight 16 stone 12. Blush

SharonGless · 13/06/2012 22:30

You just need to keep drinking and wearing to get through the first 4 days. I promise the benefits are worth it

For breakfasts I have
Total full fat Greek yoghurt with few berries usually raspberries
Boiled eggs
Omelette
Bacon egg and mushrooms
Poached egg on fried slices of courgette
Salami rolled up filled with Philadelphia - full fat of course

I think BIWI did a list of breakfast ideas from the IPD book on the week 1 thread.

I think DH is coming round to my way of thinking re butter now. He read the guardian article and started reading label of his utterly butterly shite and is converting! Baby steps and all that

sybilfaulty · 14/06/2012 06:47

Hi girls

I was really starving hungry yesterday afternoon so ate loads. All on plan but lots of it, inc cheese. Will try to have more meat and veg today, with perhaps some mayo or something to go with.

Being hassled off the computer now so will write more once at work. Have a good breakfast everyone. Some of those ideas look stunning.

SingingTunelessly · 14/06/2012 07:04

Morning all! Gorgeous morning here. Can't get over the fact I sleep so much better on this WOE and woke up full of energy at 5.30 this morning. Grin

heartstart mmm odd. Are you getting the water down? Using enough butter for frying, etc? Eating enough fat generally? Frustrating isn't it but I'm finding I can keep on losing and regaining the same couple of pounds for a few days then suddenly - whoosh they go and I start the roller coaster on the next two pounds. Keep the faith!

sharon. My DH was a big sceptic of this WOE as well. However, since seeing the difference in me he is starting to come round.....

SpringGoddess · 14/06/2012 07:25

Thanks fidddleDeefat - my starting weight last Monday was 62.1kg or 9st 11lbs.

BIWItheBold · 14/06/2012 07:38

Morning all!

Beautiful, sunny and hot day here - and I'm free all day, until we leave for the airport until 4.30.

heartstart - you are probably not doing anything wrong! Your body does not lose weight in a linear fashion, and - speaking from my own perspective - a big drop is often followed by a small gain and then it evens out after that.

Don't worry at this stage about your calories, and please don't start restricting your food because of calories! Make sure you are eating enough fat, drinking enough water - and don't let yourself get hungry.

Welcome to all the newbies.

When I get back and I have a bit more time I think I'm going to go through all the chat threads and create one new one with some 'what if' scenarios - lots of really good advice has been dispensed over the last 3 months that I think it would be a shame not to capture it in one place then I can write that book and make my fortune

Morning all, the sun is outSmile but unlike where you are BIWI its not very warmSad but hey better than rain.

BIWI new thread sounds a fab idea and think you should do a bookWink

Just had a hard boiled egg for breakfast and now dashing off to work, have a good day all.

WillieWaggledagger · 14/06/2012 08:06

yes it's lovely and sunny so i feel nice and cheerful and i am IGNORING the forecast of wind and heavy rain for the next three days

sharon pleased to hear your dh is being more supportive

RadioSilence · 14/06/2012 08:07

BIWI is right Heartstart- this isn't a diet where you will necessarily lose a steady pound a week, but if you stick with it nor will you put a steady pound a week back on when you have reached your goal.

I have lost 9lbs in 8 weeks but have only actually lost weight in about half of those weeks. The rest I have either stayed the same or gained. BIWI's mantra is "keep on keeping on" and she is wise Grin. A fast weight loss is great but not if you have to feel deprived to achieve it. I love the delicious food I can eat on this WOE and know I can do this long term.

Don't lose heart and go back to calorie counting or low fat and eventually it WILL show on the scales and on your body. I was thinner even when the scales did not show a loss so use the tape measure to give yourself a boost when the scales disappoint you.

mindgone · 14/06/2012 10:46

Well timed advice for me too, thanks. Stepped on the scales this morning to find myself one pound up from Sunday! It's hard not to feel a little disheartened.

Does anyone have any advice on how to shift some belly and bum quite quickly?! Just in case the sun comes out again and I need some summer clothes to fit my lower half! Up til now it hasn't been too much of a problem, thanks to the bloody awful weather!

RadioSilence · 14/06/2012 11:45

Callanetics! It has transformed my body. I only do the DVD twice a week( it lasts an hour) but have lost inches everywhere and really toned up. I got the DVD from E bay and went for the old one- Ten Years Younger in Ten Hours- but there are others to choose from so have a google.

switchtvoffdosomelessboring · 14/06/2012 13:14

I just had a salad with mayo and sprinkled half a packet of pork scratchings on it. First time in my whole life I've tried pork scrathing.

My god they are delicious.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 14/06/2012 13:47

Please help, i some inspiration for snacks, watching t.v kind of snacks..what's the best thing....nuts?

mummyduff · 14/06/2012 14:02

pork scratchings, celeriac thinky sliced and baked to make crisps, you can do that with most veg x

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 14/06/2012 14:09

Thank you mummyduff i hate pork scratchings but could make crisps.

teaandthorazine · 14/06/2012 14:51

Just reminding everyone that this is on tonight.

Too much to hope that it might be pro-fat, anti-sugar? We'll see, I guess! At least it might provide a counterpoint to crap like Secret Eaters...

mindgone · 14/06/2012 16:14

RadioSilence, thanks for that. The 10years younger one has great reviews, so I have just ordered it! Expensive, but hopefully worth it (providing I actually DO it!)

smokinaces · 14/06/2012 18:31

I just bought Kerry garlic butter portions. Wow, bloody gorgeous mushrooms and omlette tonight with it. Highly recommend it :-)

SharonGless · 14/06/2012 18:34

Tea set to record as we have parents evening tonight but looking forward to it.

Now callanetics- tell me more. Is it like Pilates?
