It is so hot.....how can you run? Sitting out with an ice lolly is about as much as I can handle. Will try to do 6 pack agin tho' today.
Feel like I have lost a teeny bit of weight but that may have more to do with my not drinking at the moment than with the dvd's!

ILoveLemonCurd · 10/08/2012 19:42

Phew it is hot, but I'm not complaining! Thanks Ihate and Lizzylou, I'll give it a go next week before we go away. I can always mute Jillian if she gets too shouty Hmm.

Well done Balloon, good scoring system Grin.

I was planning a bike ride tonight but DH nipped out on his instead, leaving me with the bedtime battle Hmm. So more vegging in front of the Olympics for me with Wine - oops!

3monkeys · 11/08/2012 15:43

Finally I feel a bit slimmer - yay! My pyjamas last night were loose and my skirt this morning!! just in time to go on holiday and get fat again :)

cornybootseeker · 11/08/2012 18:03

I'm also feeling slimmer today - was able to wear a pair of shorts that were much too tight a month or so ago. I've been doing DVD's for about 2 months now...combination of Jillian Michaels and also Tracey Anderson
Have done 6 pack again today...not bored of it yet!

fretfree · 11/08/2012 18:12

Hello. Mind if I join? 12 kg / 1.8 stone to lose but I'm not dieting yet, as I am still breastfeeding (not 100% unfortunately, but that is a different story). Gave birth 10 weeks ago.

I've just done day 1 of 30DS. I swear I used to be fit but now I'm quite scared. That was hard, and I'm only using 1kg weights. Also, jumping jacks are a bit, ahem, challenging re pelvic floor.....

Please tell me it gets easier quickly! That said, the format is exactly what I need. Hopefully I can carry on the momentum tomorrow - feels so good to have broken the seal.

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:18

Anyone else struggling to find time during the holidays? I have only managed to do it twice this week, despite planning to do it more often. There is always something to do , or a child pointing and laughing at mummys fat arse!

I will try and do it atleast twice a week which is after all, an improvement on the naff all I was doing before! But I dont think I will be able to do anymore until September :(

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:20

Fret
Wee first! I had my youngest a year ago and my pelvic floor is still a bit challenged too :o Mind you, it has taken a battering over the years with 6 vaginal births, but I have always been too lazy to do my PF exercises properly so is mainly self inflicted!

fretfree · 11/08/2012 21:12

Hi bogeyface. Good suggestion. It rather took me by surprise when I started the jumping jacks (first child at 40). I'm on maternity leave so finding the time should be easier but i have been glued to the Olympics :). I'm going to try to do it daily, but I want to include cycling as well and I'm not sure I can do both.

3monkeys · 11/08/2012 22:41

My pelvic floor has improved loads since starting Jillian! Don;t know why but an extra bonus.

cornybootseeker · 11/08/2012 22:46

yes always do a wee before doing a JM DVD. I had a coffee before doing one of her DVD's last week and had to change my pants after the jumping jacks

notyummy · 12/08/2012 08:26

Did NMTZ yesterday and now rather hungover Blush plus very poor nights sleep in friends spare room with dd fidgeting on a squeaky blow up bed beside us so Pilates at the most for us today.

Weeing is def a good tip!

BalloonSlayer · 12/08/2012 12:37

Morning all!

Did Day 3 Level 1 yesterday - scored 28 on my scoring system

Did Day 4 this morning - only scored 27. Hangover may have contributed.

Then had massive cooked breakfast Hmm - until then was feeling slimmer and, um, well, sort of exercised.

Bogeyface I have the opposite problem in that the holidays tend to be the only time I can find time. I get up and get straight into my exercise stuff. Then have a cup of tea, THEN shred, then have breakfast afterwards. My older DCs are still in bed, only the youngest is up . . . he is unimpressed but tough!

When school starts again it'll all go out of the window. Sad

fretfree · 12/08/2012 13:48

Hi balloonslayer - remember that a cooked breakfast won't decrease the advances in fitness you've just made :).

Ok. Just finished day 2 30DS. Please, please someone tell me it gets easier soon! Ouch. Started feeling tightness from yesterday already on the warm up. But, overall it feels good ;)

ILoveLemonCurd · 12/08/2012 14:02

Ooh am so cross Angry. Was just about to do level one of Ripped and the DVD won't work because Amazon sent the American version, grrrrrr! And I was so careful to order the right one. So I'll have to send it back and go back to NMTZ for now.

Amazon won't replace it, so how will I know I'll get the right one next time? Has anyone else had this?

Grump grump, and I was all motivated for a new DVD Confused.

Rant over!

TheInvisiblePoster · 12/08/2012 16:54

Fretfree It does get easier!! I've just advanced to L2 a couple of days early because I was getting bored with L1.

L2 is much harder but I wasn't feeling up to it last night so I did L1 instead and breezed through it so I must be getting fitter/stronger. That or my body has gone numb with shock from the sudden onslaught of daily exerciseGrin

fretfree · 12/08/2012 20:32

I lovelemoncurd - make sure you get zone 2, not zone 1 for the DVD.

Invisibleposter - that's encouraging. How long have you been doing it for?

TheInvisiblePoster · 12/08/2012 21:45

I'm on day 11. I did 8 days of L1 and i've done 3 of L2. Just done L2 tonight and now DH is doing 6W6P while I have a cold glass of rose and try not to laugh at himGrin

ILoveLemonCurd · 13/08/2012 11:01

Thanks Fretfree, I did order the right one I'm sure. Never mind, I've just done another bash of NMTZ and pushed myself into a sweaty heap. I'm starting to get bored of it already though so will go back to the Shred for a couple of days until I get something else Wink.

I crave variety or my motivation dwindles.... What are Killer and 6W6P like? Are they a similar format to NMTZ? I really want to keep this up.

notyummy · 13/08/2012 11:53

Killer and 6W6P are quite different to NMTZ. NMTZ has no cardio in - all strength. Not much of weights at all in either of the others and a lot more cardio (particularly in L2 of 6W6P which is quite tough cardio wise.)

I have just done a 5 mile run and am about to do 30 minutes of tough pilates - all penance for lying on the sofa yesterday afternoon watching 'Escape to Victory' instead of exercising because I was hungoveer Blush.

mrssmooth · 13/08/2012 14:43

Almost, almost didn't do the dvd this morning. So glad I did as I feel much better for it and can see that I'm improving from when I started. Had a break over the weekend (but did loads of gardening so muscles aching!) so I'm really only on day 6 of Workout 1 - today I did some easy, some hard versions of the exercises and I can really feel it in my legs. Has really spurred me on to keep going for another week (despite the fact that I didn't do the workout til 1030 and had the dcs and dh "keeping an eye" on me!)

fretfree · 13/08/2012 16:41

Notyummy - read some of your earlier posts. You sound inspirational! BTW, what are the full titles of NMTZ and 6W6P? Guessing the latter is 6 weeks to six pack?

Well done mrssmooth. I did day 3 of 30ds this morning. I'm finding that different bits feel hard compared to two days ago. I find it easier to keep myself motivated if I don't have breaks. However, I have physio on thursday (bad back from breastfeeding) so hope that will make me feel like I've had a break!

notyummy · 13/08/2012 19:05

Thanks Fret! I do enjoy being fit and toned and pushing myself. Am not about to do a Daily Mail bikini shoot Hmm but feel much more confident about myself than I have done in the past and feeling fit has a lot to do with that. NMTZ is No More Trouble Zones and yes, 6W6P is 6 Week 6 Pack!

Lizzylou · 13/08/2012 20:16

Fret, I often think the same about Notyummy, she is a machine and so disciplined.
Disciplined is my problem. I am on Week 4 of Ripped (and loving it, it is far and away my favourite Jillian workout so far, though she is annoying beyond belief - I am always present and bringing it though Grin), I go on holiday next week. I know if I am anything like the last 3 years I will take my trainers and run for first few days. Then I will give in and not care. Then I will have a winter of fatness and at most, token bits of exercise.
I need to see exercise as a way of life more than just a means to an end (bikini).
On the plus side I have got a new bikini which fits so well and is flattering, my core is much firmer and toned and my waist more defined. Not exactly bikini shoot ready Wink but less likely to be harpooned.
Please can someone remind me of this in 3 weeks time????

threestepsforward · 13/08/2012 20:49

Notyummy is definitely inspirational!

And, having read back through last few pages of the thread, we are all a little bit inspirational! Everyone is doing so well Smile

Have not been around much as real life has suddenly got very hectic, but have been turbo'ing as and when I can, and am still loving it.

Olympic closing ceremony was so amazing last night, I loved it, and blubbed a bit!

Right ho, off to see if there's a new thread yet... If not I will start one, "bear with" (anyone watch Miranda?) Smile
