Morning,
Things are still a little unsettled here, I'm still off work looking after DH who is still frequently struggling for breath. We were hoping/expecting to see some improvement by now. My work are amazing and I am so fortunate to have a sympathetic manager. I won't take liberties and will return to work as soon as I can.

SW, erm, must get organised and work out my meals and going shopping would help I suppose. I am not over eating at all, I am just not eating SW friendly meals at the moment.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2012 09:32

Chocolategirl3 · 31/05/2012 06:33

Welcome Rusmum of course you can join in, its a bit quiet this week I think a few are away. Now get your books out the drawer, read up on extra easy and that 12lb will be off before you know it. Congrats on the 30lb that's brilliant x x

Remember this is not AIBU we don't bite, just ask and you will be answered x x x

brafullofcrumbs · 31/05/2012 06:59

Hi rusmum :) Congratulations on losing 30lb, that's brilliant! What do you not get about SW? Ask here I'm sure we can help explain it. Did your consultant not talk you through it when you joined?

FaceCrack · 31/05/2012 08:06

I think it's a 5-6 lb gain for me. My scales are broke but I know. Sad thanks though fh&f!

Sorry chocolate Grin

Hi rusmum 30 is amaze. In 4 months - blimey! Anyway come join in!

Food is unknown today as already on tube to work but:
B: missed
L: fruit on the way to meeting
D: chilli with bit of rice and salad

Chocolategirl3 · 31/05/2012 16:26

Face get weighed somewhere today, you may be surprised, chances are its not as bad as you think.I was expecting a gain after my holiday a few weeks back but lost 4lbs and expected a gain this week too but lost, I am learning to ignore that heavy feeling I get because it doesn't mean I've gained.

I am off on holiday tomorrow, I shall enjoy myself within reason, use shorts and diet drinks and try not to eat croissants every morning! Honey may be a better bet Grin

xxx

FairhairedandFrustrated · 31/05/2012 17:15

I second chocolategirl, get weighed today and move on. That's why I got weighed on tue and didn't wait til Wednesday as I was sure I'd had a gain and wanted to get my butt in gear as soon as I could!!

Rusmum what can we help you with? Sw us a fantastic plan, you can easily shift that last 12lb no problem!! How did you lose the other 30lb? The girls are very supportive.

In sure your consultant did run through the plan with you but if you're anything like me on my first night I was a bag of nerves and didn't really take it all in!!

Choc enjoy your holiday!

I'm back on the wagon and on day 2 of being good this week!
B: fruit
L: left over speed curry with veggies
S: sw burger and wedges followed by f salad and yog.
Hea milk
HeB 2 Hifi lights

Where are the rest of the gang? Kid hows dh?

rusmum · 31/05/2012 22:57

Just not sure where to start. I don't do the shopping never plan meals and drink lots of Milly coffee lol. Lost rweight so far by calorie counting and running

kid · 31/05/2012 23:17

Dh is still poorly, been struggling for breath each day, several times a day. Back to the drs for him tomorrow as they will be closed until Wednesday after that.

brafullofcrumbs · 01/06/2012 07:43

Rusmum - so when calorie counting what sort of meals and snacks did you eat? I only started SW in Jan so am a relative newbie :). Have a look at your book and see what foods are super free and free, are these the staples of your meals? If so you're half way there. So next have a look at the healthy extras, you can have one (measured portion) from the a list and one from the b list each day without counting synd, these ensure you have some calcium / fibre in your diet. Finally there are syns - treats basically, cake, biscuits, wine Wine, etc etc. these need to be limited to a total of 15 per day (or 105 per week as you can roll them over within a week. The only rules are weigh everything that's not free and always have 1/3 of your plate full of super free (veg/salad or fruit)
I find meal planning essential so I feel in control and can county stuns for the day knowing if dinner's going to be free or not but then we've been meal planning for ages in an attempt to save money anyway.
Does that help at all or just leave you more confused??

brafullofcrumbs · 01/06/2012 07:44

Apologies for my phone auto correcting 'syns' to various words during that last post :o

Huffpot · 01/06/2012 08:50

Hi all.
Am no longer AWOL - back on the wagon now. Can't believe I lost a pound this week considering what I've been shovelling into my gob!

Welcome Rusmum and well done on your loss so far

Kid am sorry to hear about DH - must be so scary

kid · 01/06/2012 12:58

Dh has been diagnosed with whooping cough so at least we now know what we're dealing with.

FaceCrack · 01/06/2012 19:46

Sad poor DH, that's rough. Hope he feels better soon.

I've had a good day today. Been for a run and eaten well.
B: fruit
L: cous cous and chicken salad
D: fish stew, new pots and broccoli.
Heb: 2x alpen lights.

I feel much better for being back on plan. I didn't weigh in but new scales arriving in time for next weds.
Right off to read down thread.

FaceCrack · 01/06/2012 19:48

Welcome back huffs. How was the op? Parents still around?
rusmum I find meal planning the key to success or at least having free food that I can grab quickly. Other I quickly fall off the wagon as I have sod all willpower.

Huffpot · 01/06/2012 20:30

Hi Face. Cyst was sucessfully removed and the surgeon managed to save a quarter of the ovary. I'm seeing him on Wednesday to get results of it all.
Still a bit tender - doesn't help the messiest incision was on my wobbliest, rolliest bit of belly as it twinges a bit but back to doing everything again
Parents are still around but in Ireland and back to me on the 11th for a few days before sniffle flying back across
the world

Made a syn free version of chinese fried seaweed tonight mmmm so we'll be having a home made chinese feast over the weekend I think

FaceCrack · 01/06/2012 21:47

Glad the op was a success but boo to wobbly tummy. Sounds like you've still got some time left with your parents, brilliant! Just focus on that rather than the goodbye at the end of it.
Enjoy the seaweed, sounds grim. Grin

I'm hoping my period is due, I'm in a foul mood and my back and stomach hurts. No sign of the bastard thing though - hope I'm not pregs.
