Yes, it is cushion plumping time again Grin

Pull up your favourite chair (I'm bagging the one in the corner thanks Grin) stick your feet up and join in with the nattering.

Plenty of room for everyone Grin

I don't actually attend a class, never have actually. I just buy the magazines (sometimes) and get as much information as I can on the internet.

I'd probably do better if I did go to a class but I've never plucked up enough courage to go and I don't want to go by myself anyway.

Your day sounds lovely Fairhaired. I love canoes but I'd only go on one where there were no fish in the water Grin I went in one with DH in the caribbean sea but freaked out after about 20 seconds and demanded we went back to shore. Thinking about it, we were probably still on the shore when I freaked out after seeing some fish.

LakeFlyPie · 25/05/2012 23:27

Evening Smile
A kind friend has lent me his iPad for a test run to see if I might want to replace my laptop with one.
Not sure but it's nice to not be typing on my phone!

FHF your day sounds great, what was the 40 ft pole business?

girders your inch loss sounds great, I'm starting to notice my spare tyre reducing finally and a colleague noticed yesterday which was good.

Had a bit of a fail on the cake front today, seem to be surrounded by the stuff the last couple of days Hmm
BF: Strawberries + FF yog
L: Cheese (HEa) salad, apple, grapefruit, cupcake (?7 syns)
D: Chicken (HEb) potato salad (2 syns mayo) salad
S: Muller, cake (neighbours!) (more syns!)

Need to have an absolutely cake free day tomorrow

kid · 26/05/2012 03:32

I had to phone an ambulance for dh 1/2 hour ago. He woke up having a coughing fit and couldn't breathe. I was useless as I almost fainting myself through fear I think. Even when the ambulance arrived I still kept feeling faint.
They have taken him to hospital and I'm stuck at home with dc who don't know anything has happened.
No idea what's happening but I'm sure it'll be a long night Sad
I'm not overly worried as they didn't rush him off with blue lights flashing. I guess its more of a precaution.

FaceCrack · 26/05/2012 07:04

Oh no, your poor DH. Hope all is OK!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 26/05/2012 07:18

kid your poor dh, hope all is ok.

ff&f I'm pleased you could go on that adventure day, I'm too much of a wimp!

Re: the inch loss, I have been recording measurements since Feb each month and it really gives you a boost as its a visable difference iyswim?

Not 100% on food today, though think I will have roast veg cous cous with feta for lunch, having a beach picnic so will try to be good.

kid · 26/05/2012 08:45

Dh is back heme now, he has fluid on both lungs. I only got a couple of hours sleep last night so intend on catching up on some more today.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 26/05/2012 09:46

Oh kid am sorry to hear about your husband, am sure you were worried sick! Glad he's home now with a diagnosis and can get some rest (both of you!)

The 40ft pole was a climbing and swinging wall/frame was all to build team work among parent and child, really loved it though am still sore today!

Well done on inch loss girders, isn't that' brilliant :)

Kid flexible syns is where you set yourself a lit for the day - say you needed 50 to be on safe side. You keep counting, stay in control, planning to use flexible syns - you get up next day, back on plan again and back to using your 10 - 15 syns a day. It probably won't mean a loss, but should stop a gain.

Flexible syns (not flexi syns or flexi days) if used properly can lift the guilt a slimmer sometimes feels when they have one bad day. But remember YOU are in control, and you CAN do this!!

LakeFlyPie · 26/05/2012 22:15

kid hope DH is ok, how scary for you. Do they know what caused the fluid on his lungs? How is he feeling now? Hope you managed to catch up on some sleep today

FHF that sounds great fun, it's good to feel the fear sometimes

girders beach picnic sounds lovely, hope you had a good time

Another lovely sunny day here, not very good food wise though; been a few days of slackness now, need to get back on it properly tomorrow which means serious meal planning before bed:
BF: Pancake (10 syns Shock) strawberries
L: Soft boiled eggs and asparagus
D: BBQ - crudités and dips (? 5 syns), salad, lamb steak, berries, mango, pineapple
S: Alpen light (HEb), Muller, satsumas

kid · 26/05/2012 22:40

Dh is worried about going to bed tonight, can't say I blame him. At least we know what it is and I should be able to calm him down if he starts gasping for breath. I won't be allowed to phone the paramedics every night! We don't know what caused it, my guess is the cough he had spread to chest then lungs rapidly.

I've not caught up on any sleep yet but I'm in bed now. Dinner was reasonably healthy but and very tasty but I've not even tried to stick to sw.

Ds had a football tournament today and they won the league and championship. He then went to a birthday party which finished at 10pm.
I think he'll sleep very well tonight.

kid · 26/05/2012 22:41

*but not strictly sw,

grinningbee · 27/05/2012 09:39

Kid Shock - I hope you had a calmer night, and that you dh is feeling a little bit better. The chest infections going around at the mo are shocking.

FHF Your day out sounded fun Smile

Not sure when I'll be back on as we're off on our jollies tomorrow morning. Got the packing/washing to sort and all the usual pre-holiday stress Grin

Have a good week all, and I'll see you in a few days when I shall be getting my uber serious dieting head back on. And moving house shortly afterwards. And probably need another holiday after that [fat chance emoticon]

kid · 27/05/2012 19:02

We had a calmer night last night but then he had trouble breathing again not long after waking up. I managed to calm him down within a couple of minutes but it was still a bit scary.
It happened again once more today when he was with DD (13yrs) and it scared her a little bit but it didn't last long. I guess he is learning to get his breathing under control. I think he plans on going to work tomorrow. I'm not pleased but can hardly stop him if thats his choice. I gaurantee that if it happens at work, they will call an ambulance and he will be carted off to hospital again. Hopefully he will see sense and take a couple of days off but who knows.

I have loved the weather today, been sitting in the garden for most of the day. I had intended on sorting out the house but the garden was so much more appealing and won. There is always tonight or tomorrow to tidy the house.

Chocolategirl3 · 27/05/2012 20:28

Kid sorry your DH is poorly, he needs to rest and should not be going to work. There are lots of nasty chest infections at the moment x

Well I can safely say a loss is out of the question this week, after a night out with the girls on Thursday then a big buffet lunch at parents today with cake and pate and garlic bread oh and pizza, I could go on... Well let's just say a gain will be on the cards. But do you know it is worth it as I have had a fantastic day x x

Chocolategirl3 · 28/05/2012 09:15

Took dh drs this morning, there referred us straight back to a&e. We've been here a couple of hours, waiting for chest xray and blood tests.

His nan is in ICU at same hospital so we are waiting on news about her to. They suspect she has had a heart attack but are running tests.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 28/05/2012 11:34

kid hope your DH gets seen soon and he gets on the mend, your not having the best weekend are you? Poor dh nan, hope she is ok too.

Chocolategirl3 · 28/05/2012 12:10

Kid How awful for you, I hope they sort your DH out with some antibiotics to help clear his chest up asap, Hope his Nan recovers too xxxx

MadeInScotland HAPPY BIRTHDAY Thanks your celebrations sound lovely and you are being sensible drawing a line.

And yes you have been cleansed go forward and think speedy foods from this day forth

kid · 28/05/2012 14:51

Dh is back home, they've diagnosed a chest infection and some more medication.
His nan is still in hospital, we'll get test results this afternoon.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 28/05/2012 16:05

Kid sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it - never rains but it pours :(

Am almost too embarrassed to come on this thread after the week I've had, but am here and will go to group on Wednesday come what may!!

kid · 28/05/2012 22:05

Dh's nan is also home tonight Smile test results are back afaik but they are happy for her to be at home. I bet she is over the moon as she hates being in hospital.

DH has had a very bad day with his breathing, I think its been 11 times of gasping for breath. He should be getting better not worse. I am amazingly calm when it happens, but I watch the clock carefully trying to make a decision how long to leave him struggling for breath before calling an ambulance. So far, he is recovering in less than 2 minutes which I think is okay. Poor DS looks terrified when it happens, I don't blame him as it is scary but as the drs don't seem overly panicky when they see it, I realise there is no need for me to panic either.

Thanks for your kind words of support. I have been a little preoccupied to put much effort into SW so I am not hopeful of a miracle this week. I couldn't even leave DH while I went to my gym class tonight. He is scared of being left on his own and has admitted he thought he was going to die at the weekend Sad He has also thanked me constantly for looking after him, big soppy so and so!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 29/05/2012 15:50

Aw kid, I feel for you and poor dh am sure the weekend events scared him.

On the sw side of things my weekend went to hell - am going to weigh in tonight at a group but looking at a gain of at least 3lb I'd say.

It would be easy to ignore it and book a holiday, but I need to face it!!!

brafullofcrumbs · 29/05/2012 15:54

Thinking of you kid, hope dh is on the mend soon.
Fh&f don't worry about a gain, you know what to do to get the scales moving again in the right direction. To me that's the beauty of SW because you're not punished/ embarrassed for a gain, SW is a tool to use to get to where we want to be weight wise. It's not a stick to beat ourselves with.

FaceCrack · 30/05/2012 07:46

Morning all!

I'm back after several weeks of pigging out so I'm drawing a line under it. I feel quite bloated and horrible today so pleased to be back on plan.
Haven't got time to catch up as in work but waves to all.
B: weetabix (heb)
L: pasta salad
D: seafood pasta, salad

Pm me for the list.

brafullofcrumbs · 30/05/2012 08:57

Morning face:)
