The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

I ordered this book today. I am quite excited and i really hope it works for me.

I put on 2 stone when i stopped smoking and my weight is going up and up, I am eating for the sake of eating and it has to stop.

JustFab · 28/04/2012 12:53

I should hope not ppeat. It's a bit much to invite me here only to kill me! ShockGrin.

Just had home made fish and sweet potato soup for lunch and a small amount of the kids's garlic pizza. I suspect that kind of food is off for me as I knew it was setting me off on the munchies.

CalamityKate · 28/04/2012 12:56

Hi all!

A question - what if you would like to be 10 and a half stone, but your body is perfectly happy at nearer 11 and a half??

I'd gone up to 11.9, started the Paul McK, and lost 5lb fairly quickly.

However, I've now stuck, and worse, put on a pound, so I'm now 11st 5! With no signs of being able to lose any more!

As far as I'm concerned I'm sticking to the rules. If I eat any less/different things, I'm in danger of starting to deny myself/not eat when I'm hungry, which is not the idea at all, is it?

So what do I do??

Solo · 28/04/2012 14:24

Not sure CK maybe you are in limbo which happened to me last year. It is probably all you can do to continue with what you are doing and hopefully, your body will change its tune and you'll start to see more change. Do you exercise? maybe up the exercise if you don't or don't do too much? or maybe you'll see the difference in your clothes fit, but stay the same on the scales.

My ideal weight according to boots, is between 9 and 10 and a half stone, I'm 12 stone, I would like to be somewhere between 10 and a half and 11 stone I have large boobs and I don't want to lose too much of them, and it would be very unrealistic to aim for 10 and a half or lower, was 10 stone in my late teens and looked anorexic. Will be purchasing the book I think. I haven't eaten yet today as not hungry yet, but will be ravenous later no doubt.

Solo · 28/04/2012 14:36

I think my top ideal weight is about 11.7 and I definitely wouldn't want to be less than that these days.

Afternoon ladies. Hope you are all well.

JustFab, just so as I am not confused (very easily done) is your current name a variation of your old name?

Calamity - I don't know what you eat but I think there comes a point when we have to think about that. Whilst you can follow the rules and live off pie and chips and still lose weight, I think you have to start making healthier choices, especially when you get near your ideal weight. The problem is that it begins to sound like a diet then but I think most of the time, when we are hungry, we would eat several things. It isn't often that we are fixated on one, and in those instances maybe we need to chose the lower calorie/fat/sugar food over the something which is more calorific. Not diet food at all but, for example, if you are hungry and you could eat a cheese sandwich or you would be happy with a salad sandwich instead then chose the salad version sometimes.

Of course if you already eat a perfectly balanced diet then I am stuck and yes you might already be at the right weight given your diet and lifestyle.Smile

I think I would like to be about 10st 10lb although anything under 12 (i.e. something that begins with an 11) would be fine. If I ever get there.........

JustFab · 28/04/2012 16:01

Yes, I used to be originalFAB.

I am struggling. Kids upset me. I was doing okay on a calorie counting plan but as I have never been one for only eating when hungry how on Earth am I going to do it?

On the calorie counting I would eat 3 meals and small snacks too if I was hungry and was keeping just below the 1200 I was allowed. If I do PM I will eat more calories than that, surely, so how will I lose weight? My body usually refuses to lose any weight past 2 weeks.

JustFab · 28/04/2012 16:15

Also, I feel hungry, realise I can't/shouldn't eat and then get a bit teary and argue with myself and feel crap. I know I have food issues. I just don't know how I can stop the battle with them and myself.

Solo · 28/04/2012 16:25

I wonder if a rl hypnotherapist would/could help you then Fab

Justfab Hello again Smile I remember you Smile I have NEVER counted cals in my life IMO & E it's not nec. and as i said before i've reached my target weight and size 10. It sounds like 3 meals and 2 snax would be fine on the P.M.

Calamity and gossip Iam also on a healthy eating plan as BBB suggests and if you really are sticking to the rules we all should be; what does he say ? something like 75% healthy and the rest 'play foods' (what DOES he mean BTW Grin)

Welcome Bodacious and Gossip BTW you're in the right place !!

JustFab · 28/04/2012 16:35

Solo! Hello my love Smile. There is a hypnotist place nearby. I have no idea how I go about seeing them. I know what my issues are but I don't know if I have matched a reason or I have them because of the reason. Which came first IYSWIM.

BigBoobiedBertha · 28/04/2012 16:57

Ah I thought it was you JustFab. Didn't want to say your old name because I know when you were last here you weren't very happy with MN and I wasn't sure if it was best not mentioned. Hope life is treating you a bit better at the moment.

Ppeat - play food is food that you just eat because you enjoy it not because it is good for you, I reckon. Or alcohol. Nobody needs alcohol but apparently some people like the taste of it. (I'm not being tongue in cheek there - I really don't like the taste of it).

Anyway, food you eat because it makes you happy, not because it is good for you. Its a good rule because it means that you don't have to worry too much unless you get your proportion of good to play food all wrong. My theory was that Calamity is getting her proportions a bit skewed and eating too much play food. You can get away with it when you have 5 stone to lose but not when you have 5lbs.

JustFab · 28/04/2012 17:08

Yes, MN is great, some posters were just too much Sad.

BigBoobiedBertha · 28/04/2012 17:15

You had a rough time. Sad

I think you were wise to withdraw for a bit but sorry you were driven to it.

How are your DC? Hope they are thriving.

JustFab · 28/04/2012 17:20

The kids are all settled in at the new school but with varying degrees of success and happiness tbh. I know it was the right thing to do though as DC's life was at risk. Thanks for asking.

BoffinMum · 28/04/2012 17:20

Hello
I have completely fallen off the wagon since Christmas and I am sitting here with a cold, feeling so very fat. Sad
This is a Boffin cry for help.

dawntigga · 28/04/2012 17:20

Just stuffed myself full of chocolate due to ishoes but I'm on board now.

WillBeStoppingWhenFullTiggaxx

JustFab · 28/04/2012 17:21

I hear you Boffin! What can we do to help?

Tigga - if you are going to OD on chocolate, make sure you are enjoying them!

CalamityKate · 28/04/2012 17:43

BBB - thanks. That makes perfect sense.

BoffinMum · 28/04/2012 17:56

I think encouragement to start logging my eating, using the McKenna app on my iPhone and getting physically moving again would be good. I just seemed to get stuck after Xmas and lost the good habits I had developed.

BoffinMum · 28/04/2012 17:57

I have been overeating for 2-3 weeks as well because of ishoos, like Tigga. That's not like me.

JustFab · 28/04/2012 19:16

I don't understand how apps work at all so can't help there, sorry.

If you have issues, can you deal with them and let the eating fall into place?

I am having a fun evening with a cheeky half glass of wine and will have some sprinkle cake later and then I will knuckle down.

LaWobble · 28/04/2012 21:57

ARGGGHHHHH I just type out a huge post and then mumsnet did their 'offline' thing and I've lost it all. Too grumpy to retype it all now so I will summarise by saying 'Hi everyone, hope you are good' Grin

(the first post was a bit more interesting Wink)
