The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

He says to try to avoid drinking whilst eating but it's ok. I would if I could but it makes me ouchy

arfur · 14/06/2012 23:20

Grin Wine Wine Wine Wine Grin
hic, Paul who?

But seriously no problem with drinking (within reason) Wink other than as faith says not whilst eating as it may dull your sense of fullness.

justfab amazing how the dcs can detect when we're a bit below par and push us to the limit. Hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day Smile

ppeatfruit · 15/06/2012 08:05

Good morning everyone Grin!! bums I find that drinking wine fills me up too quickly (I only drink it while or after eating anyway) so find I hardly do at all.

fab Ref. D.C.s What do they say on here? (it does work) "reinforce the good behaviour and ignore as much as poss. of the bad"!! Grin

JustFab · 15/06/2012 11:01

Hi all

Just had difficult nurse appointment so going to kick myself up the backside and get myself grown up!

FartBlossom · 15/06/2012 11:48

fab I know I dont 'know' you, but I just want to say I hope you are ok. I don't know what's going on, but you obviously need some sort of time out. I dont want to speak out of place, but perhaps not pauling too much until you are sorted?

I have a confession to make, I couldn't resist, but I weighed myself this morning. I know its not the rules and I was meant to wait 2 weeks at least, but the scales were shouting at me. Anyway I was 2lbs lighter than Sunday morning so something might be working. I dont feel like anything is, but the scales were going the right way. Will try to hold off now until the 24th as planned.

Ive not listened to the CD for a couple of nights, but I plan to tonight.

JustFab · 15/06/2012 12:07

Thank you FB. I have been thinking I need to stop thinking about food and stop trying to lose weight to get myself sorted but I just feel like I am hungry all the flipping time! Just went to look for lunch and remembered I had bought some cabbage greens so put those in the microwave. Thinking I was hungry thought I woud have some crisps that I had left by the sofa. Had a word with myself that if I can't wait 4 minutes then I really am beyond help. Didn'rt have the crisps.

Solo · 16/06/2012 00:39

:) lbs slipping back off again slowly.

Hey everyone, would love to join. Have the book and cd from ages ago but have done 50 million diets in between! When will I learn??

Anyway I searched for Paul on google and this wonderful thread came up, read two threads, took me hours!

It's really nice to 'meet' all of you :) x

bumbums · 16/06/2012 09:24

Sabotaging my self with highly calorific foods I think. I've not been over eating. An I think I'm eating when I'm really hungry.(Though to be honest I could allow myself to be hungrier.) But had a bacon sandwich yeaterday and in the evening a yoghurt that had 250cals!!!

I'm getting it wrong aren't I?

ppeatfruit · 16/06/2012 10:53

Morning I'm late today! welcome to chokey It's nice to 'meet' you as well !!
Solo That's good news!
Bumbums We don't count calories on here (i count the healthiness of foods though Grin) bacon sandwiches meh!

HaveALittleFaith · 16/06/2012 11:36

Hello chokey and welcome to the thread! Best decision you'll ever make. I'd never have stuck with it this long without the supprt of the thread.
bumbums you're doing it wrong in that you're analysing calories and beating yourself up! High calories? Whatever!! If you fancied it, if you're hungry, then eat it! Did you eat it consciously and chew?
I'm feeling tonnes better. Finally got the cd on my phone and listened to it last night at bed time. I've decided walking has to become my exercise! It's the only thing I can do really except swimming - my local pool times are bizarre. So I had to go into the village today and came back the long way and walked for probably 30 minutes total. I'm quite pleased with myself!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/06/2012 12:05

Morning everyone :) and welcome chokey!

bumbums - it doesn't matter what you eat. Yoghurt is good, it has fat in it which will fill you up and stop you craving all kinds of other rubbish. Low fat is a myth designed to keep us all fat.

Faith I'm glad you are feeling better :)

Lazy morning here so far, I've been building dragons and castles from Lego with DS1. We are going to take the boys swimming later which is always an exhausting mission so that's my exercise for the day!

JustFabulous · 16/06/2012 19:01

Hello to everyone.

I find that I am hungry lots and it is annoying me.

Just had the most delicious fish lasagne from M & S. I can highly recommend it.

HaveALittleFaith · 16/06/2012 20:14

Mm fish lasagne sounds yummy fab', it's ok to be hungry y'know. I go through phases. Some days I'm just ravenous all day. Have you tried snacking on veg? I especially like carrots and grapes on Munchie days.

I feel very pleased with myself today! Not to brag Wink but I've sorted the wardrobes which makes the bedroom look massive and also a place if rest. I watched the DVD the other night and realised I was still distracting myself too much from food. I thought the radio was ok but Paul said no. Today I've done total focus for each meal. The wonder of virgin tv allowed me to pause Miss Congeniality don't judge while I ate my dinner. I left half of it! Planning to cd again tonight too. Oh my pain is much better too. I really am wondering if the cranberry juice is the key?

JustFabulous · 16/06/2012 21:32

I am hungry now because I didn't have breakfast. How does that work as I have had lunch and dinner since so shoudn't be hungry again Confused.

chokey · 17/06/2012 07:38

How are you all going with it today?

I didnt do too well really on my first day but I listened to the cd and although had a big lunch out and didnt really do Pauling then I didnt eat all the nachos... And left some of my breakfast this morning...

I am conscious that I am not pauling though while I dont Paul so at least I am aware, I hear awareness is very important haha Wink

ppeatfruit · 17/06/2012 09:22

Morning AllSmile JUstfab The one time i don't eat when I'm hungry is at bedtime 'cos it stops me sleeping and stops the weight loss; I might have some fruit and nuts but that's it; oh always a large strong camomile tea and a glass of water (I take those to bed with me).

Has anyone else noticed that if you eat at a time you don't usually then yr. gut remembers the next day even if you don't ? Grin

chokey it takes time y'know you'll get there Smile

Solo · 17/06/2012 12:08

Morning. I'm feeling really disillusioned right now. This week, I had started to lose the weight I've re gained over recent weeks, only to find it has jumped back on this morning, despite the fact that I've been so much better with my food than I had been :(. I need to listen to the discs, I really do...bloody dc players!!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/06/2012 13:16

Erm it may be hormonal, how do your clothes feel? the scales are on the blink, or else it's a blip and you can carry on with P.Ming tomorrow Grin

bumbums · 17/06/2012 20:55

ppeatfruit Yes I think your body does remember when you ate the previous day. I've been up at the crack the past two days so have had breakfast early. Then want more food at 11am. So have had my lunch then.

Had a great day food wise today. Have felt really relaxed and in control.

If one is "Pauling" properly when can you expect to see results on the scales please?

chokey · 17/06/2012 21:52

I agree your body remembers. Probably why when we try to eat diet food one day, the next day we eat everything in sight! Or... Maybe that's just me haha. I think weighing ourselves makes us more distressed than anything, but it is hard not to do!

PM has quite a sultry voice on the CD doesn't he?? Haha...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/06/2012 23:04

chokey - yes I think we've all struggled with the voice! Solo and ppeat are his fan club, I'm less keen Grin

Solo :( Is it TOTM related? My periods haven't come back yet since I had DS2, but I think they are on the way because I am fairly sure I ovulated last week. I feel bloated and I've lost the emotional even keel that I've been on for the last few months - which is a shame!!
Don't starve yourself, hang in there and things will improve :)

I haven't Pauled well at all today. Ate a huuuuge roast dinner mid-afternoon, lovely roast pork with crackling - yum! Haven't been hungry since though, so I have just had a hot chocolate and now i'm off to bed.

suzi2 · 17/06/2012 23:05

I think that 2 weeks is about right for weigh ins. Though I'm guilty of doing them sooner and being all silly about the result.

Solo · 17/06/2012 23:14

This is the 3rd consecutive month I've missed :( so it could be hormones I suppose. I'm waiting for blood test results for my thyroid and also the perimenopausal ones...must remember to make an appointment for this week.

Clothes feel tight and I still have this roll of fat that suddenly appeared.
Sorry to moan.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/06/2012 23:36

Solo - menopause and accompanying hormonal changes really alter your metabolism. It will be all over the show :(
Be kind to yourself, it isn't likely to be anything that you are/aren't doing or eating. ((hugs))
