So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

How'd the jab go Bee? Did you all survive it? I remember when DS got his preschool jab he slapped the health visitor :( And he's not even a cheeky child! He was as shocked as I was, as I think it was just natural instinct.

Had another good day today!

B: Melon, Kiwi and Banana
L: Ham, lettuce, baby tomatoes, cucumber, heaps of beetroot, lighter than light mayo (1 syn) Raspberry activia snackpot, grapes & plums.
afternoon snacks, grapes, kiwi
D: SW chips, 2 sw burgers, beans and a fried egg followed by chopped melon
and yog.

HEA milk
HEB not sure yet

Me weigh in day is Wednesday this week. Hoping for any kind of loss x

kid · 30/04/2012 22:04

I am most definitely not moving in the near future after the amount of effort and money I've put in to my current house. But hope those of you that want to move get to move.

I went gym tonight, my poor legs were barely able to get me on the step. I assume it will start getting easier, anytime soon would be appreciated.

Food today:
B- weetabix (HEb), milk (HEa), tea
L- couscous with peppers, onions and balsamic vinegar
D- pasta, butternut scotch, green beans and chillies (bit too many chillies actually)
Snacks - muller light, apple, 1 choc hobnob = 4.5 syns
4 ryvita crispbread/crackerbread (HEb), 2 cheese triangles (HEa)

Food for tomorrow

B- weetabix (HEb), milk (HEa), grapefruit
L- pasta, butternut scotch, green beans and chillies (left over from dinner)
D- SW chips and eggs.
Snacks - muller lights, club =5.5 syns (I'm going to buy some more and hide them from everyone!), 2 satsumas

kid · 30/04/2012 22:06

Hope the jabs went okay bee

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/04/2012 22:36

Kid I need to get back to exercising. I used to go to spin classes twice a week! But am hopeful that in the near future I'll get one night back!

LakeFlyPie · 30/04/2012 23:12

Evening Smile

Belated birthday wishes FaceCrack, hope it was a good one

Sounds like you're right on plan choc, I saw the mint Mullers but wasn't sure about mint yog, settle for some Activia snackpots although don't know how they fare syn wise. They're fat free so am guessing they should be under 5 syns.

I fancy making some SW chips after seeing kid and FHF's menu plans, may be on for veg burgers and chips tomorrow.

Beautiful sunny day here today and have walked for hours with DC and also managed to get a swim (and steam) in this evening.
Think I'm managing to stick to plan pretty well but don't feel particularly leaner this week Hmm, will wait and see what the scales say on DOD.

Food today (green):

BF: Muesli + FF yog + strawberries
L: Broccoli soup
D: JP +tuna mayo + sweetcorn and salad + dressing ( syns for mayo and dressing), apple
S: Banana, grapes, Activia snackpot (Banoffee one which was a bit disappointing - hope it wasn't to syn laden)

kid · 30/04/2012 23:22

I'm back to going gym classes twice a week (Mon and Thurs)

I had a sneaky peek at the scales and they aren't showing a loss yet, bit out of order of them I think.
I do feel leaner though judging by my clothes which I guess is better than the scales telling me I am lighter. But come on scales, do your thing and move!

I need to buy more fruit, everyone in this house keeps eating it. The biscuits seem to be lasting longer than usual, hmm, wonder if my healthy eating is rubbing off on others here too?

Off to bed now to read my book, its so good but quite strange. Its about children that escaped from a lab after they had been turned into hybrid creatures. Told you it was strange lol

Huffpot · 01/05/2012 08:09

Oh I am very excited. I kept waking up all night and wondering where they were so heaven knows what I'll be like tonight!
I'm off to hospital today for my pre op check and will be childless as my mate is coming over to watch DS's as it may take a few hours. I'll bring fruit with me as not sure what selection of food the hospital will have.
Am making my mate some SW truffles tonight to say thanks(she's the person who introduced me to SW) so will make a double batch as am due to get my periods so they'll come in useful

Am glad you had a lovely birthday Face

And well done for house cleaning Hedge

Awwww I hate them getting needles Bee

I love the mint mullers semi frozen mmmm. I also read you can use the muller lights (normal or semi frozen) with your HexA to make a milkshake. I'll try that one day

I can also recommend the WW dessert yoghurts - they're gorgeous and syn free - just as good as the synned Activia ones mmmm

So today will be a bit all over the place for me due to hospital and then a trip to Asda tonight to stock up for mum and da's favourites before they get here

Not sure if I'll go to WI tomorrow due to the grand arrival but will try!

And the bloody rain is back today! Grrrr

grinningbee · 01/05/2012 08:49

Morning all

Good luck today Huff!

Kid I'm sure the scales will show something tomorrow. You're being far too saintly for them not to! Out of curiosity (and because it sounds right up my street) what is the book you're reading?

Lake I am Envy of being able to go for a swim. Sounds lovely!

Ds is fine thank you. He cried when the first needle went in, and more with the second but I shoved a couple of buttons in his mouth and he soon cheered up. He was a bit grotty last night and woke a couple of times, but he seems chirpy this morning.

I'm not going to clog the list up, but something bad happened yesterday, and I just don't know what we're going to do. I'll put a post over on FB, and if anyone wants a read they can, or you can just hide it.

I'll post food later.

Forgot to say earlier - good luck with the house Hedge!

Just got an email from SW to say I'd made slimmer of the week on their website Shock. Had a look, and among others, yep, there I am. But the top loser of the week lost an amazing 21lb!!!!! And that's not in their first week either ShockShock

Going to weigh in for this week in a mo. It won't be anything like last week that's for sure.

Food for the day:

4 x ryvita dark with 4 tsp jam (2 syns), apple
Omelette and baked beans, apple and yogurt
Quorn chilli (1.5 syn) and rice 2 x hobbit bread

Might stick some cheese in there somewhere.

OP posts:
brafullofcrumbs · 01/05/2012 10:53

Bee - whatever the bad thing is I hope it isn't too bad or that you find a way of handling it. What is the FB group?
Kid - is your book oryx and crake? If not you should try that too, very similar style, and year of the flood which is a sort of sequel. Both Margaret Atwood.

Face - happy belated birthday
I had a bad week, gained for the first time :( I've had a sts before but not a gain :( Can't make my regular group tonight so I went last night to another group, thought I'd better face the music as I knee the weekend had been bad. On the flip side it gives me 8 days before next tues eve wi to lose the 1.5lb I've gained and an extra 1lb to get my next certificate [ambitious]

grinningbee · 01/05/2012 16:06

Bra Sorry you've had a gain, but on the positive side you seem to know what did it. Good luck for the next 8 days, you can do it!

Slight change to my food for the day thanks to events of the day Angry

Breakfast still the same
Lunch turned out to be 2 x yogurts and a banana just now
Dinner still the quorn chilli and rice, but might have 2 x alpen lights instead of bread as I got some today to try (on offer at the mo in Sainsbury's)

My kids are making me laugh at the mo. They're both sitting on the same scooter (dd in front, ds behind) scooting around the room. It's so cute!

OP posts:
kid · 01/05/2012 16:48

Bee, make the most of your DC playing together and loving eachother. Mine used to like eachother but now they argue like cat and dog, it drives me mad. I would love to tie them together until they had ran out of things to argue about. Actually, I don't think they would as they just don't stop. Anything from where they sit at the table, whats on tv, who looked at who, who's turn it is to have a bath etc.

Anyway, the book I was reading was 'Schools Out Forever' by James Patterson. I've got a kindle so can't pass the book on to anyone. I've also got literally every book he wrote along with a few other authors that I like. I really like Jodi Picoult so I think I'll read one of hers next. I think I have over 200 books on the kindle which were kindly downloaded for me (free of chargeSmile)
The only problem about getting in to a good book is not noticing the time. I was reading in the bath for about an hour last night. I only got out because it got really cold! I was also reading until 1am and had to get up at 6:30am. I am completly shattered now but am meant to be doing a bit more painting.

DH has had to drive all the way to Dorset today for work (from London) and then back home again this evening. No idea what time he'll be home. Glad its stopped raining now, hate the fact he is driving when the weather is so bad.

I'll be gutted if I don't get a loss tomorrow. Especially as I know I have been really good again this week. I've had a few treats but nothing over my syn allowance. Time will tell but I am definitely shrinking but I want the scales to recognise this too.

Right, dinner time or nap time, that is the question!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2012 21:17

Been awol a few days as not been well. Hoping to feel better tomorrow as have my 2nd interview in the morning.
Made it to class tonight though and was pleased with result.
Will pm bee for DoD.

Hopefully back on thread properly v soon.

kid · 01/05/2012 22:12

Good luck with your interview CSWS, hope it goes well.

I've just made my lunch for tomorrow and DH is drooling over the smell of it. I didn't make any extra so he'll have to fix his own lunch. I've got chicken cooked in lime (juice and zest), curry powder, garlic, mint and ground ginger served with pasta (HEb), baby leaf spinach and in a small amount of fromage frais and balsamic vinegar dressing.

LakeFlyPie · 01/05/2012 22:44

Evening Smile

bra sorry to hear of your gain when you were so close to a sticker. Reckon you can do 2.5lbs in 8 days of you stick at it.

bee Thanks for SOTW!!
How on earth could someone lose 21lbs in 1 week (did I read that correctly?)
Will weigh in and pm you tomorrow.

kid your lunch sounds delicious. Envy of your early evening nap option

CSWS hope you're feeling better and interview goes well

Food today (green):
BF: Fruit salad + FF yog
L: Broccoli soup + ham+cheese hobbit sandwich
D:SW chips, fried (in Fry Shite) eggs + speed curry sauce (was surprisingly tasty in a very carby kind of a way), pineapple
S:Another bowl of broccoli soup at DC teatime, 1 custard powder biscuit (knew it was dangerous baking with DS1 this afternoon - not sure how many syns it is but the rest are going with DC to my parents house tomorrow) Possibly yog before bed, either muller or Activia snackpot

kid · 01/05/2012 23:10

I was a bit shocked reading that someone lost 21lb in a week. How is that even possible? I'm wondering if they put a load of stones in their pockets at their original WI. I'm lucky if I lose 2lb a week, nevermind 21lb!

I did manage a slight evening nap when DH got home. But it only lasted 10 minutes as I was laying on the settee and the dog decided I shouldn't be able to have a nap. He came along and nudged my face and hand with his cold wet nose. He is lucky he is so sweet otherwise he would have got a right telling off.

I'm off to bed to start a new book which is a bad, bad idea as I need sleep. DoD tomorrow. DH is off work and he has no idea what I weight (and I'm not about to tell him either) so I'll hopefully get to weigh myself without letting him see the result.

With star week, when are you more likely to have a gain? Does it vary for different people and does being on the pill make any difference at all?
I made an effort to drink some water tonight. I managed 1 pint of water and haven't had any diet coke this week. Usually I'd get through 2 bottles a week but I've been too lazy/busy to go and buy any.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 01/05/2012 23:18

Hiya :)

Bee, first and foremost, great big hugs and Thanks for you.. you'll be glad when this week is over.

I'm only in from work and I'm wrecked! Can't even remember if I put my syns down for yesterday or not, but if I did, I need to add 5 syns.

Today has been mad busy, my day job was over at 2pm then started my other job at 4pm, just home about half an hour ago, did some admin, grabbed a bit to eat & am in bed with a cuppa... phew. Exhausted.

Food today (sorry it's not been great)

B: Fruit salad mixed with mandarin muller light
L: Grapes, blueberries and sliced chicken (ate on the hop!)
D:Scrambled eggs, bacon with no rind (I totally love my dh, he trimmed the rind before grilling, yeah, it's the small things...), beans and grilled tomatoes.

Snack: More blueberries and grapes
Syns today were 2 pink & whites and 2.5syns each. I like them as they're quite a good choice for 2.5syns (3 for the jammie ones)

I got to RL class tomorrow, hoping for a loss of something after that gain last week.

Kid, those books are brilliant, there's a whole series of them - totally addictive! I love James Patterson, if you like him you should try Lee Child's books, they're fast paced, some of his I've read in a good day, cos you get so caught up in the book.... yes, my children are used to moving the book from in front of me & waving food at me... as in "I can see you're busy, can I have a packet of biscuits for tea?" lol Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 01/05/2012 23:28

21lb is a big loss, isn't it? I've never seen that before, but you do get some 'extreme' slimmers - for those of you that are on FB if you've ever been a fan of Diet Geezer or something like that, Danny is his name, he can loss that in a week, but he can also gain it - so there's always a few who do it like that - personally I'd rather have the losses every week that I can maintain rather than huge chunks.

I've seen people lose weigt at an extreme rate - and then not be able to sustain it, feel guilty and put it on again, and that's definitely not what you'd want for anyone.

This plan works, it most definitely works, but as members, it's up to us how we work it... so it's about 12 weeks to my holiday, even 1lb a week would see me back at target and ready for the beach.... I can do it!!!

grinningbee · 02/05/2012 09:54

Gooooooooood morning!

Today is the Day of Doom (TM). Get those lovely stats to me please! I shall be doing the list sometime between 9-9.30pm to give everyone a chance of getting on it Grin

Thanks for the hugs FHF Smile and everyone else. I'm going to collect a slightly newer car tomorrow (only 12 years old instead of 14 ha ha) which once fixed up should be more reliable... it'll need to be when we move in a few weeks.

Kid I love the Alex Cross books, so I might have to save my pennies and get those others on my kindle. I'm currently reading a nice zombie apocolypse type series Grin.

Food for the day:

4 x ryvita with 4 x tsp jam (2 syns), banana
Omelette and baked beans, maybe some cheese too (and will damn well get to eat it today!), yogurt, apple
Left over quorn chilli and rice, 2 x alpen lights for pud

Yesterday was the first time I'd tried those alpen lights (I got the choc and fudge) and must say that they are scrummy!

Good luck today everyone Smile

OP posts:
Chocolategirl3 · 02/05/2012 10:47

Right, just to warn you all, if I gain or stay the same I may have a massive strop! Wink

Good luck everyone Smile

FriendofDorothy · 02/05/2012 10:50

I think I am going to bail out of weighing myself because even though I am in the first trimester my weight seems to vary massively every day. I intend to keep on eating healthily but weighing myself just doesn't make sense at the moment!

grinningbee · 02/05/2012 11:11

Choc You strop away Grin not that you'll need to.

FOD Don't worry! It's bound to be a bit uppy downy (more uppy further down the line! Grin).

Now then, why is my inbox not lit up like a christmas tree? Wink

OP posts:
MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 02/05/2012 16:38

bee Thanks] thesee are for you, first for this weeks traumas and second for slimmer of the week! Well done.

FODhow are you finding the first trimester? hope you have not been too sick.

Chocif it dosent go right this week strop away! I am more of slinky away and sneak back with my tail between my legs sort.

todays food has been

B - ff yog, chopped banna and a satsuma
L- at work and as i forgot to make lunch it was wheat a bix and tsp of honey 1syn HA and HB
D - 3 quorns sausages, beans and mash 1syn for mash (using milk from ha as did not se full amount in cereal)

snacked on 1 satsuma and a special k bar 5 syns
choc truffle from someone at work 3.5 syns

Still have a HA and HB left so may have a hobbit bread toastie during apprentice.

kid · 02/05/2012 17:32

I haven't been as strict this week as I was last week as I didn't write everything down.

I've had a red day today and will enjoy some more chicken for dinner tonight. Its literally the only meat I eat. I had another large glass of water with breakfast this morning and will have some more with dinner and later in the evening. I think water actually tastes quite nice, no idea why I don't drink it more often.

Good luck with your results everyone.

Hedgepig · 02/05/2012 20:45

Evening, Fairhaired I couldn't agree with you more about the slow sustinable weight loss. For me the SW was really a total change about how I looked and thought about food and I plan to only do it once Grin

FOD I think you are right not being too concerned about the scales at the moment just stick with healthy eating and I'm you it will be fine. I was so ik through both my pgs tht I didn't put weight on at ll, I just made up for it after t he births ! I keep meaning to ask have you announced your news in RL ? I expect you haven't and keep stopping putting my foot in it on you FB wall.

Bee I hope the car works out for you, having an unreliable car is totally pants

My big news of the day is we have bought a house ekkkkkkkk. Stress city today and im having a large glass of wine (or 2) to calm down.
