So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

I am in a huge amount of pain. Who said exercise is good for you?! I was a little sore when I got up this morning but now I am very sore. I can only imagine how painful moving will be tomorrow and I've got all of the woodwork upstairs to sand.

Been good again today, its a miracle.

B- Weetabix (HEb), milk (HEa)
L- couscous, cucumber, onion, peppers mixed in balsamic vinegar
D- Veg Biryani (11.5 syns - eek)
muller light
apple
2 satsumas
Tesco Light cranberry and black currant bar (HEb)

I am totally full up yet I stayed within in syns, amazing.

Tomorrow I'm having a red day. Fry up for breakfast and a chicken curry for dinner with something nice in between I think.

Bee, Would they let you cut their hair? It might be less traumatic, actually, it could be more traumatic for you!

Lets hope we have some sunshine over the weekend, think we've had plenty of rain lately so a break would be nice.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/04/2012 22:23

Ooh kid - I'm also having a red day tomorrow with a fry up for brekkie and a chicken (and spinach) curry for dinner (with cauli rice of course!). I'm having chicken livers in sweet chilli sauce, with tomato and red onion salad and baby leaves for lunch.

LakeFlyPie · 27/04/2012 22:36

Evening Smile

kid what did you do to ache so much, was it JM's Shred? I struggled to get up and down the stairs for a few days after my 1st Shred attempt!

Bee barber experience sounds a bit of a nightmare, presume pre haircut bribery wasn't a go-er? DP, who is usually one of those annoying people who excels at anything he turns his hand too, did DS1's 1st haircut and whilst I'm usually pretty laid I was Shock and Angry. Poor DS looked like Friar Tuck and his fringe took about 12 weeks to grow back. I still cringe at the photos, perhaps I should send one to your DS so you can show him what happens to boys who don't sit nicely for the barber Grin

BTW no fear re the Penguin, it was long gone!
Am now hankering after huff's orange aero biscuit.

FHF good to hear you're feeling perkier

choc there are some reasonable strawberries around considering they're not in season yet. Well done on water intake, I'm always in the Must Try Harder camp when it comes to water.

Food today (green):

BF: All bran + banana + sk milk
L: JP + beans, apple, orange
D: Speed curry + rice, grapefruit, Muller (orange with choc bits one - can't remember how many syns they are but know they're not free)
S:Couple of spoons of DC red onion + pepper cous cous and couple of forkfuls of cottage cheese.
Considering a slice or 2 of malt loaf if any of you kind folk can tell me how many syns it'll cost me Smile Am sure it should be in my book somewhere but can't see it, will go and have another scan.

kid · 27/04/2012 22:38

Hmm, chicken and spianch curry sounds good to me and of course its about time I actually tried cauli rice. I tend to buy frozen veg as it lasts longer but I can make the effort to buy some fresh tomorrow to save on the HEb.

LakeFlyPie · 27/04/2012 22:51

Actually just realised I could have some muesli (2nd HEb) and a few extra raisins (4 syns) for my evening peckish-ness.

Wonder when exactly my friday nights got so exciting, used to be the beginning of a weekend of wild partying, now it's a bowl of dry muesli and the hope of a few uninterrupted hours of sleep Grin

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 28/04/2012 08:06
kid · 28/04/2012 09:01

MadeInScot, I did a bootcamp class which consisted of circuits of squats, push-ups, bench dips, step, sit-ups, lunged and finally lifting a 5 kg weight in front of you and then above your head.
We had to do that circuit 4 times and each station lasted for 45 seconds. I'm still in bed and I'm dreading having to move.
Can you believe that I've booked the same class for next week! No pain, no gain right?

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 28/04/2012 09:27

kid you must be a glutton for punnishment!, but your right no pain no gain.

I have not been running for a week now as hurt my back (now better) and felt wobbly from sedation still on wednesday and thursday torrential rain all day the did not let up and yesterday no excuse as it was glorious outside but chose to have a friend over for lunch.

I have an action damage limitation plan for next week;

try to only have 5-8 syns
have 3 runs and do weights/sit ups each night
drink more water
no snacking unless syn free and only if i really must.
Plan plan and plan some more and stick to it.
post religously my food diary for you all to examine!
keep ones head firmly in the zone.

all to commence tomorrow due to cheese and pickle toastie and 2 galaxie crumble bars for breakfast as have said night out.

kid · 28/04/2012 16:45

Your action plan for next week looks good, hard work but good for getting healthy.

Today, I'm not really keeping track of what I've been eating although I know its all been good so I thought I'd better write it down as I'm bound to start snacking as the evening goes on.

B- Omelette made with 3 eggs and mushrooms, onions and 28g cheese (HEa)
L- chopped apple, banana and a toffee mullerlight

For dinner, I'm making chicken curry which is syn free on Red days. I haven't been out to get cauliflower today so I'll have a jacket potato with it instead (HEb)

I've got all my syns left to use, I could use them on the cookies but thats a waste. I think I'll eat some of DD's kraves, they make a lovely snack even when dry. Just have to check their syn value before I tuck in.

I've been busy decorating today. I've sanding all the little fiddly bits of woodwork so I just have to sand the doors and frames now. No news of when the carpet is being fitted but I know I've been told it will be by the 12th May at the latest. I don't mind if its a bit later, gives me more time to waste time when I should be painting.
I've also hoovered the whole house and washed all the paintwork. So, I intend so sit on my backside for the rest of the evening!

grinningbee · 28/04/2012 21:54

Kid I am exhausted just reading your exercise and decorating regime!! I do hope you're taking a break now. No wonder you hurt!!

Girders Your plan looks good, and do post your food diary too. It really helps Smile

Here's what I've had today:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp reduced sugar marmalade (0.5 syn), banana
Banana (was out mooching in town - the others had stuff from Greggs)
Sweet chilli chicken (0.5 syn) with roasted veggies, 3 slices hobbit bread (3 syns for the extra slice)

So I've had 4 syns and am still hungry. Might just drink plenty of sugar free squash and try to fill up that way! I've had too many syns to have a peanut butter kit kat Sad. They're 13 syns each! Mind you, a creme egg is only 9... Nah. Squash it is.

LakeFlyPie · 28/04/2012 23:58

Gosh it's quiet around here ATM
girders hope you had a good night out

bee did you succumb to the choc or manage with just the juice?

Busy day here and a tricky one foodwise, was geared up for a red day culminating in Indian takeaway to feature lots of delicious meaty delights but FIL (who came around to join us for takeaway) expressed preference for Chinese food which scuppered my plans.
Also had my 1st waver from new start saintliness in the form of custard snaffling at DC teatime Blush

Food today has been (ended up green I suppose by virtue of chowmein):
BF: Muesli (HEb) + FF yog
L: Hobbit ham sandwich (bread HEb, ham 3 syns), apple
D: Veg chowmein (? syns), 3 prawn crackers (? syns)
S: 1/2 banana, small ramekin custard, 2 new potatoes, Muller yog one with cherry and choc sprinkles etc (that's actually unpleasantly sweet) which I'm still unsure of syn value
Really don't know how to tot that lot up as syns but suspect I've gone over daily allowance.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/04/2012 07:28

these are all the listed muller cherry lake:
Amore for Me Cherry Yogurt, 150g pot 8½ 8½ 8½
Corner Greek Style Yogurt with Black Cherry, Low Fat, 150g pot 4 4 4
Fruit Corner Yogurt, Red Cherry, 175g pot 5 5 5
Mullerlight Cherry Yogurt, 100g Free Free Free
Mullerlight Fat Free Greek Style Yogurt, Morello Cherry, 120g pot ½ ½ ½
Mullerlight Vanilla Yogurt with Dark Chocolate Sprinkles & Black Cherry Underlayer, 165g pot 1½ 1½ 1½
Vitality Prebiotic Fibre & Probiotic Low Fat Yogurt, Cherry, 125g pot 2½ 2½ 2½

chowmein about 7 or 8 syns. not sure on prawn crackers.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 29/04/2012 07:47

lake think those cherry yogs are 2.5 syns?

bee hope managed to not succumb to the chocolate!

Had a lovely night out with dh last night, we need to go out more often, so planning a meal out next time.

Plan thus far is

B - fruit and a yogr
L - roast beef mash and veg and a yorkshire pud
D - prob a sandwich or a salad? Not decided yet.

Ha milk in coffee and mash hb bread which will need to buy.

May I ask what hobbit bread is?

LakeFlyPie · 29/04/2012 09:47

Thanks CSWS muller choc sprinkle yogs aren't as bad as I thought they might be. They are incredibly sweet though, think I prefer the fruity ones.

girders hobbit bread is the teeny, tiny (400g I think) Warburton's loaf, 2 slices of which is a HEb.

Really rainy and blowy day here and was planning to take DS1 to cheer on the Manchester marathon runners, perhaps we'll don raincoats and go anyway.

Going to my parents for dinner this evening so will ring ahead with a menu enquiry so I can plan my day.
So far BF was 2 weetabix, banana + sk milk

kid · 29/04/2012 09:54

I'm planning my day around what I'll do rather than what I'll eat!
I have to start painting today as my next day off may be when the carpets are being fitted. I'll do the tricky painting today and leave the doors for in the week.

I'm being a good mum/wife today. I've made a cooked brekkie for dh and ds plus coffee for dh. I'm about to iron him a shirt as he is at work today.

I've had weetabix, milk, banana and tea for BF. I'm cooking sausages for dinner and I'll think of something else for lunch. It'll be a late dinner (for a Sunday) today as I'll wait for dh to get home.

What another miserable day it is outside. When is the rain going to give us a break?

grinningbee · 29/04/2012 10:29

Morning all

It's horrible isn't it. So dark here we need lights on! Good luck with the decorating today Kid.

I did manage to not eat chocolate, I topped up the tum with a pint of sugar free squash instead. Chocolate would have been nicer, but would have been over the limit on syns and I need to be good.

My food for today is going to be:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp reduced sugar marmalade (0.5 syn), banana
Probably nothing as we're going to venture out in the rain (H wants to go to the pub). Maybe an apple
Left over sweet chilli chicken (0.5 syn) with tomatoes and 2 slices hobbit bread

Hope you're not all getting washed away!

OP posts:
FairhairedandFrustrated · 29/04/2012 16:34

Grr I made a big long post & the internet ate it. bugger. Will try & remember what all I put!!

Hope the rain has eased off for you lot as it's really lovely here in NI today! Blowy but dry. DH was working this morning, but was home in time to make the dinner phew

I went to ASDA and spent over £80 on about four bags of shopping and there's probably feck all there for lunches & dinners through the week... Hmm On the bright side, I did get the activia snack pots cheap :) Also, chicken pasta mug shots 4 for £1.

I have been fine on Friday and yesterday. I had mccains baked potatoes for dinner on Friday night, 1 or 1.5sys each - not worth it but I couldn't be arsed and dh was working.

Yesterday food was chicken noodle soup for lunch and we were at my sisters so I took the soup for starters and everyone loved it. She made sw chicken goujons for dinner & wedges & veg, with a sw cheesecake for afters, was gorg!

Also, have stepped down from one role within my job & already I feel a huge sense of relief. Just knowing I'm going to have more time for me feels great... or am I being totally niave. I've another doc appt this week so will see how it goes.... but am hoping as it's my own doc & not a locum (as was alst time) she'll remove the medication & maybe try & get me some counselling or something.

Hope you're all having a great weekend - I bought myself a skipping rope in asda, my sister swears by it so i'm going to give it a go... in the comforts of a dark shed where no-one can see me lol :)

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 30/04/2012 07:43

ff&f i have done that so many times with shopping, mainly if i go sans list as i just stuff anything in!

Also sounds like have been very virtuous this weekend, i on the other hand have had a hangover all day yesterday (serves me right for mixing my drinks!) and me and dh have made a packed to go out more often and i will make sure i stick to one drink.

hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

todays food is;

B - porridge and banana HA and HB
L - ham salad sandwich and ff yog
D - frittata and salad

snacks will be fruit and will drink more water.

grinningbee · 30/04/2012 07:55

Gooooood morning everyone!

We have sunshine - yay!

Girders how's the head? Wink

FHF Glad you can feel the pressure easing already. And I know if I go food shopping without a list (rare though) I can fill a trolley with seemingly nothing useful and it costs a bomb.

Off out shortly to do the playgroup run, and then take ds for his MMR. Eeeek. Might have to take chocolate buttons too (for him, not me!!).

My food for the day will be this:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp reduced sugar marmalade (0.5 syn), apple
Omelette with cherry tomatoes, yogurt, apple (I've run out of nanas)
Quorn smoky bbq fillet, jacket spud and beans, 2 slices hobbit bread

Face Hope you had a lovely day yesterday!! Grin

Choc Buttons are the way to go for immunisations bee (for Mummy rather than DCs Grin)

I have had a bonkers weekend cleaning the pit (very desirable) house from top to bottom as we are putting it on the market on Tues. We have found something we love in the village my DS1 goes to school in and we need to sell sharpish . I'm sure I have burnt a zillion calories.

I hope every one is OK and I will catch up later on zoooooom

Chocolategirl3 · 30/04/2012 12:04

SlinkyB · 30/04/2012 21:53

Ooh, I lurve choc mint stuff, will have to keep an eye out for those new yogurts.

How did ds's jabs go bee?

Just been for my first jog/power walk in about two weeks, due to my cold. I was pathetic as friend couldn't make it, so only lasted twenty mins. Still, it's a start and better than nothing.

Are you bursting with excitement about your parents coming huffers? Well done on house cleaning hedge and good luck on the market - seems 2012 is the year of the house move! Smile
