Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

Shouldn't have done kid. If anything it should have been nicer with extract.

kid · 24/04/2012 21:33

ok, well I'll try it again tomorrow but will only use the 1tsp like the recipe says.

I think I'll also line to tin with baking paper as it fell apart when I tried to take it out after it had cooled.

kid · 24/04/2012 21:41

has anyone else tasted the muller greek style coconut yoghurts?
I got some tonight and I thought the pots were a bit on the small side but they are so nice and very creamy. Much more filling that a mullerlight. Shame you only get 4 in a pack. I've told DH and DC to keep their hands off them Grin

grinningbee · 24/04/2012 21:55

Not tried them yet Kid. Shame about the cake, but you'll have to let us know how the next try turns out.

I managed not to eat the two extra slices of bread tonight at tea time, and have instead had a bit of shortbread that a friend made and gave me a slice of yesterday. It is gorgeous! I'm reckoning it's the size of two shortbread fingers, so 10 syns. That makes 12 syns today, with a bit of leeway in case the shortbread allowance is slightly off.

Yay!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2012 22:26

I've tried them kid. I bought them to use instead of coconut milk in a curry, but when i ate one it didn't seem to taste of coconut at all, so I was quite disappointed. I should prob try another in case my taste buds were just having an off day. I do like the honeyed peach ones though. (presume you know that there are small amount of syns in them).

kid · 24/04/2012 23:16

I didn't know they contained syns. They aren't that nice, unless its only 1 or 2 syns.

I also got some light choices cranberry and blackcurrant cereal bars. They are lovely. You can only have one as a heb, but they are very sweet so you might not need anything else to satisfy a sugary craving.

LakeFlyPie · 24/04/2012 23:19

Evening Smile

Well, I survived the day without any disastrous repurcussions Grin
In fact I'm astounded at the lack of flatulence given the Speed Curry ingredients! See, cast iron constitution.
DP made the same comment which is a huge relief I must admit.

kid I'm loving your 'on it' attitude ATM, you remind me of my old RL SW consultant. When people in group used to say they 'hoped' to see a loss next week she would retort "Hope, a lovely name for a girl, what are you going to lose and how are you going to make sure it happens?!"
Must admit the ingredients of the almond cake don't look like they would result in something resembling cake. Will be intrigued to hear how cake mark II turns out. I love almondy things

girders hope you've been suitable gee-ed up by kid's wise pep talk and are right back on it tomorrow.

CSWS the soup recipe looks lovely, will give that a go.
I've had a hankering for Hifi bars since FHF mentioned them the other week. Are RL groups the only place you can get them from?

FaceCrack hope your early night revives you and you're feeling better v soon.

ria you around today?

Where are FOD, maresy, pixie and a few others who could be AWOL???

BTW - What are the Muller yogs of which you're speaking?
Sound good, love coconutty things as well as almondy things.

Food today was (green again!):
BF: (didn't dare risk All bran in view of yesterday's speed curry) puffed wheat, strawberries, sk milk
L: Hobbit ham sandwich, tomatoes, apple
D: Cous cous, ratatouille, feta, 2 slices garlic bread (not sure so will err on 8 syns), melon, grapes
S: Parma violets ( 1syn), milk in coffee as BF and feta used up both HEa's - 4 syns)
Just realised need to syn lunchtime ham as had cereal + bread as HEb's so another 1.5 there.

Makes me realise the value of spending a few minutes half an hour on here thinking about what I've eaten and how easily the syns can creep in, am a bit rusty on the planning I think.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 24/04/2012 23:30

Fuck :(

Huge gain tonight. Got weighed a night early as I've something on tomorrow night. Time of month and 2 bad days have floored me.

Will return tomorrow full of joy and armed with s food diary :)

Well done bee!!

And re: cake, that would be considered a 'tweak' and the chickpeas would be counted as syns on the original day value (if that makes sense) basically the highest value. Though if it's not damaging loss I'd be inclined to have it sparingly, not daily :)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 24/04/2012 23:31

But then I'm not the right one to be listening to this week Grin

LakeFlyPie · 24/04/2012 23:42

Aww FHF, you haven't been that far off track so it must be a lot of hormonal fluid retention which'll be all sorted by DOD next week?

Chin up Smile

FairhairedandFrustrated · 25/04/2012 00:07

Hi lakefly, I didn't see your earlier post- glad the speed curry had no ramifications!!! Maybe you'll try it again :)

Re: hifis yes, you get them in groups, as far as I know they're not sold in shops, they're on eBay but the prices are hiked up & they're being sold illegally. However if you find that hankering us bad pm me & I'll pop some in post - NOT @ eBay prices!!!

Just saying also, since the plan changed a wee bit in january puffed wheat isn't a healthy B choice anymore, but as I said down thread, if it's working for you & you're still having the losses, you could look at that if losses ever slowed down. It's just not a B choice because they found there's not enough fibre in it now .

Hope that doesn't come across 'teachery' as I'm here for help & support in my own journey, not to be mouthy :)

kid · 25/04/2012 07:08

fairhair, you're not being mouthy, you're being helpful with advice which is what this group is about.

Todays food:
B- weetabix, milk, banana
L- potato and onion fritata
D- veg biryani
Snacks- mullerlight, apple, satsuma, club (5.5 or 6.5 syns)

I can hear the rain outside and am not looking forward to having to go out in it Sad. It's got 30 minutes to stop.

FaceCrack · 25/04/2012 07:35

Morning all.
That quorn sausage and beam casserole has given me ferocious wind!! I'm in work today Smile.

It was an expected gain for me today. I'm hoping some of it is wind related

Food;
B: 2x alpen lights as running late
L: chicken and cous cous salad, apple
D: spaghetti marinara and salad

FriendofDorothy · 25/04/2012 07:43

I am here. Had a gain of 1.5lbs this morning. I am putting it down to being pregnant and not fancying food but forcing myself to eat. I never seem to lose weight even when I am really unwell!

grinningbee · 25/04/2012 07:43

Morning all!

Kid I'm also weather watching. Got to go out in just under an hour, so please don't rain!!

FHF You are not teachery. It's great having you here Smile I've been lumbering along doing the plan from 1996, so I'm probably doing lots wrong. I do try to look up stuff online regularly though (online member now).

Good job my weigh in day was yesterday. I checked again this morning, and somehow am 1.5lb heavier Confused. How weird. I do feel all bloaty though.

Amazingly, the dc have chosen today to sleep in, and are still in bed! Got to poke them in a sec... should be fun.

Food for the day:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp reduced sugar marmalade (0.5 syn), banana
Omelette with cherry toms, yogurt and an apple
Quorn sticky smoky bbq fillets, jacket spud and baked beans

Got to find another heb to chuck in somewhere... need to have a look online I think for inspiration.

Good luck today everyone!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 25/04/2012 08:10

Morning all!

Im back in the game and and have my sensible head on again.

kid thanks for the pep talk, your right i really dont want to be gaining i want to be losing and 6 weeks is not long to lose 12lb.

Also the "maybe soup" is because im not yet decided and have not been shopping yet, not because im not properly planning!

Think i will either make soup or make roast veg cous cous with left over chicken from yesterdays dinner? Hmmm decisions decsisions.

Not sure if i will run as back still twingy but may be ok? Will asses before i go.

Hedgepig · 25/04/2012 10:57

morning slim ones Grin sorry i'm full of cold I have just read back but my head is not working and it is balnkety-blank. Apart from Kid the Muller Greeks are only 1/2 a syn and are yummy .

I've done alright this week I have got back into the target zone but I want to get below 11st so I am more in the 3lb below target rather than the 3lb over target. Some days I can totally focus and there is just a sense of calmness of this is what is happening today this is what I will eat and some days I just don't have it ho hum Confused

Food
B Shredded wheat and grapes
L Butternut Sq soup
D Roast vegetable chilli (I think it is much nicer if you roast the veg and them make the chilli than just making it with veg in a pan)

Fairhaired you are not teachery at all you have lots of good advice.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 25/04/2012 11:33

Does any of you lovely no the syn value of Icelands Roasted med veg? I bought a bag but have just read the back and its got olive oil in it, but there are only 48kal per 100g so not too high i think? Im going to have some any way and go with the rough guide of 1 syn per 20cals as having it mixed with cous cous and left over roast chicken for lunch.

Also thought i would add Quorn sausages are £1 a bag in morrisons on special offer.

Good luck all for the DOD tonight.

grinningbee · 25/04/2012 12:47

Girders Is it a 680g bag called Mediterranean Grilled Vegetables?

If so, half a pack is 5 syns on all plans.

Hope that's the one!

Smile

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 25/04/2012 12:56

bee that's the one, thank you! It was really nice.

grinningbee · 25/04/2012 13:00

Ok, just been pootling on the SW website. Maybe someone can explain this one to me.

On the green plan, you can have 2 hea's and 2 heb's. But both a and b include cheese (if that's what you want) so you could have 4 portions of cheese a day on green? That can't be right, can it? I understand on green the fibre comes from beans, potatoes etc but all the same.

See, this is what I mean about me probably doing it wrong!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 25/04/2012 13:02

Brilliant, so glad that was the right one Smile

Just had my omelette. Nice to have a hot lunch as I'm soaked to the bone after the playgroup run. It's so cold outside you can see your breath!

SlinkyB · 25/04/2012 15:06

Hey all, just a quickie. Genuinely forgot to weigh in this am, as still full of heavy cold Sad. It's been almost a week now, again, my head feels like it's gonna explode and my sinuses are wrecked. So have not been doing SW at all, so know I've gained.

What's really pissing me off is that I was actually starting to enjoy my jogging/training for Race for Life, but haven't been for over a week as can't breathe properly and have asthma Angry.

Still, at least ds has just had a 3hr nap which allowed me to rest.

Good luck everyone for tonight's List, if you've been listening to kid you'll all be fineWink
