Good morning all!

Good weekend here, despite the weather. Since recovering from my injury I've done 3 x L1 Shreds, increasing weights gradually to 2kg. It's still a challenge for me, which is good and bad in equal parts! Think I will stick with L1 for a few more days as it hasn't aggravated my rib area and hopefully I can ease back into it all gently...

Greenfigs my flowerbeds now look very staid Wink

Hope everyone's doing well. CHST is her body revolution in UK DVD format? (Welcome back to the Jillian fold by the way!!!)

I weighed myself today and it had an 8 in it, Hooray! (8st 13 and 3/4 lbs Grin but it's the first time I've been less than 9 for....well i can't remember)

Am still plodding on with L2 6W6P. Am on day 6 today.
I find it really hard keeping my balance on several of the moves, and really don't get the low to high move...it doesn't feel like it's doing anything and it's really hard to swivel fast on carpet!
I also have a rather large bruise on the inside of one knee from when I misjudged the lunge with pass through and hit my knee with the weight Grin

I don't think level 2 works the abs quite as much as level 1 but it seems to be more knackering burning more fat.

I am always hungry now, but I think that's just going to be how I am from now on Sad

Glad to hear you're on the mend threesteps
Hope everyone has a good week of Jillianing!

CHST · 08/05/2012 10:52

threesteps It's not available in the UK yet...I have been naughty....

gingercat12 · 08/05/2012 13:45

Thisis You were right. I was feeling Killer L3. At first it felt shorter (it isn't) and easier than L2 (less cardio), but the next day I could hardly walk...

CHST I quite like the sound of that new work-out.

Although I have to work my way through 6W6P first. I have only done day 1 yet... My neck does not hurt, so I must be "doing it right".

I noticed that my legs and arms look much nicer. Thanks, Jillian.

threestepsforward · 08/05/2012 13:56

ooo naughty CHST! I will definitely look out for the release of that though, sounds really good!

Yay Youvecat!! Congratulations Grin I know what you mean about the hunger. It's time of the month for me and I've been through the kitchen cupboards and shops like a human locust over the last few days Blush

Good luck with 6W6P gingercat. I surprised myself and enjoyed it the last few times I did it recently.

Did L26w6p today but didn't feel too strong. Got over sickness & now have tight chest & sore throat. you've cat well done you! Are you now at target? I know what you mean re L1 feeling like more of a workout. I have put it down to my not quite getting it yet. Good news on the slinky limbs gingerSmile

Happypiglet · 08/05/2012 17:07

Well after four days off over weekend visiting in laws I got back into it today...L3 Ripped again... I am utterly sick of it...and didn't really do it justice...I hate jumping squats and jumping lunges....
I have done L3 for quite some time now so maybe I need to move to L4 ...can any of you enliven me on what pain to expect??

notyummy · 08/05/2012 17:10

greenfig-I would say L2 much more if a workout than L1 but more in an all over/cardio way rather than abs (which is odd given that it is an abs workout. Guess it is rhe fat burning!) I do it with a 3kg weight and def feel its hard work the second time round. That said, nothing is quite as tough as the hard version of spider press ups on L1.....,

Happypiglet · 08/05/2012 17:12

Enlighten me.....although a bit of enlivening might not go amiss either!

threestepsforward · 08/05/2012 21:22

Happypiglet, it seems like so long since I've done L3 and L4 Ripped that I can't remember that well! But...I do remember that L4 is hard, but not as hard as L3, so if you've got through L3 it's slightly more downhill from here!! L4 doesn't have jumping lunges or those scissor squats (I think), which are my nemesis too.

Are you enlivened? Grin

I did L1 Ripped today as part of my ongoing gentle reintroduction to Jillian, although it didn't feel that gentle! I used 2 kg weights, but felt good at the end.

Not sure if I'll manage anything tomorrow, so possibly back to it on Thursday.

Hope everyone's having a nice evening Smile

Yes notyummy I did suspect I wasn't ahem, giving it my all yetGrin
rosalux I was just doing a search for a pilates dvd & saw you'd recently posted, did you have any luck? I see someone on another thread has recommended Lynne Robinson. I have a feeling I used to have 1 of hers & found it a bit too much waffle. If anyone knows of a good one I'd be greatful. I know the basics so want something that just goes through the moves & is reasonably challenging.
I did a pilates class today, 1st time I've been able to go in weeks, & feel much better as woke up achey & with a headache. Couldn't face Jillian, may try later if I have time. On the plus side my teacher was v impressed at my strength & uber sleekness!!!! Swatty girl! Thanks JillianSmile

threestepsforward · 09/05/2012 11:54

Greenfigs that's lovely to hear from your pilates teacher :)

It's so nice to hear the positive feedback from people...
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, weather can't be helping with general feeling of yuk at the moment.

I've got 10 minutes solution Pilates Perfect Body, I think Jacksterbear has too. I really like it and the arms section is nice and challenging! It also has a really good 10 min stretch section at the end which I often use after JM. Whenever I've had a long injury and can't do any JM stuff I use the pilates DVD and it keeps me ticking over.

Where Knottyhair?!!

OP posts:
threestepsforward · 09/05/2012 11:55

Where is Knottyhair Grin

OP posts:
notyummy · 09/05/2012 12:54

I have Kristin MacGee's MTV Pilates - sounds a bit naff but quite challenging and not too slow.

VenetiaLanyon · 09/05/2012 12:54

aaargh, have put my back out doing squat jumps! Have to stop exercising for a few days, and will probably be too big for wedding dress - aarrgh....

greenfig · 09/05/2012 13:10

Thanks v much 3steps & notyummy I will have a look at those.
Oh venetia poor you! Go & see somebody you need to be well for the big day.

knottyhair · 09/05/2012 13:13

I'm here lurking threesteps! Feeling a bit sorry for myself and very frustrated as I haven't been able to do any Jillian for a while. Just got over a cough and dodgy foot, and managed to do a few sessions, then I was over my parents' every day sorting out their bloomin' iPad, then haven't really felt quite right the last few days but can't quite put my finger on it - bit headachy, bit of a dodgy stomach but haven't really felt up to it. DP has my cough, just hope he's not giving me any lurgy back again. But in the words of young Mr Grace, you're all doing very well. Venetia, hope your back recovers soon and good luck with all things weddingy! Hope to get back to normal in the next few days and plan to ease back into Jillian with some Level 2s, then crank out Bob Harper's Totally Ripped...

threestepsforward · 09/05/2012 13:21

Oh no Venetia Shock Sad
Have you got painkillers? Can you get to a chiropractor before the big day? You could probably fit in a few sessions to make sure you're fit and upright? What a bugger Sad

Knotty, poor you. It's just that awful time at the moment where so much lurgy-wise seems to be flying around. And I envy you not explaining technology to parents! (I overheard my aunt asking my mum at Christmas whether she was tempted to buy an ipad-pod Grin). Hope you feel stronger and more up to some Jillianing soon. Don't rush it though if you're not feeling 100%.

Horrible day. Just got in with the dog and we both smell of wet dog!

OP posts:
CHST · 09/05/2012 14:35

knotty how do you find the bob workout in comparision to Jillian?

knottyhair · 09/05/2012 14:49

Thanks threesteps - I've had my mum e-mailing me saying "Help, how do I send an e-mail???" Confused. CHST, haven't managed to do it yet, but I will report back!!

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 09/05/2012 18:08

yep l3 killer is hard ginger, I've just done it today after having a couple of days off, those 1 minute of round kicks or whatever they are called are agony, I keep looking at the clock counter hoping it will go faster.
I did my monthly measuring today and have lost 1.5 inches this month and also, the best thing I can actually see my abs! It's not a 6 pack, tis only a 2 pack at the moment but its there so all I have to do is shift the flab off my lower stomach now!

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 10/05/2012 11:02

I went to a school meeting on Tuesday (I usually avoid the school gates at all costs don't go into the school much since I only have one child at primary now and he goes on the bus!) and someone asked me if I'd lost weight!

I gave her a hug!

What shall I try next after 6W6P? (I think I have about 2 weeks to go, although I'm not sure how many days I've done, all this exercise is shrinking my brain!)

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 10/05/2012 17:04

you'vecat, it depends on how much time you have as to which one to do next. killer is about the same length as 6w6p but has three levels and althougth the focus is on the lower body there enough plank moves to give your upper body a work out too. If you have more time ( about 50 mins), I'd suggest NMTZ and/or BFBM, I use them as my weekend workouts as I have more time. NMTZ is very good for upper body, particular arms and shoulders.

threestepsforward · 10/05/2012 20:37

Youvecat, do you have / have you done Ripped? Sorry I haven't read back to check - so many posters doing so many different things! That would be a good one to do during the week as it's a shorty like Shred. Levels 3 and 4 nice and challenging Grin

Nothing yesterday. Good thing I'd planned a day of rest as we had an appointment with a window salesperson just to get a very casual quote. He arrived at 6.30, and left at 9.30!!! We just...couldn't... get... rid... of... him! He rang his manager while he was there and was given a right bollocking, you could hear, felt sorry for him in the end... Suffice to say he didn't make a sale.

L2 Ripped for me today. I'm really feeling the effects of just one week off Shock

Might try Ripped 3 or 4 tomorrow if I feel brave enough...

OP posts:
Happypiglet · 10/05/2012 20:43

I would second Ripped youv'ecat i have done day 2 of L4 I think I like it more than level three.... Tough on the upper body though, my chest aches today!
Not keen on scissor kicks but the cardio is more doable than level 3 IMO!
Will try it again tomorrow. Unfortunately I appear to be 'eating my way through the exercise' as Jillian says somewhere! maple and pecan pastry today oops......
