Haha Greenfig don't be impressed. If I could do them properly I wouldn't have hurt myself Grin My friend is such a gym bunny and I just carried away showing off!

It's still bloody sore today so I'm not even going to attempt anything before tomorrow or Tues. TBh the weather is so crap that the motivation for a bikini body is hard to summon anyway...

notyummy · 29/04/2012 14:24

Hope you feel better soon threesteps and gypsey. Those spider press ups are really really tough. I can do about 4/5 proper ones and then just have to knee to shoulder without dropping down. Right up there with tricep press ups for toughness.

Managed to get out for 7 me run yesterday and only got a bit wet. Weather beyond grim here. Dh and I did L3 shred and L 3 Ripped this morning.

Happypiglet · 29/04/2012 19:58

Hi all, hope those with injuries feel better soon.
After two days off I did L3 Ripped today which has not really only partially negated the dinner with friends with cottage pie and homemade treacle tart & custard not to mention the bacon sarnies and pancakes for breakfast Blush
Weather has been beeping awful rained literally non stop until about 4pm. Bikinis seem a very very long way away...
Irony is that DH went to North Yorkshire and did a 25 mile three peak challenge on Friday in glorious sunshine!

rosalux · 30/04/2012 09:40

RI30 L4D1 done today. As usual I spent most of the time trying to work out what I was doing and which weights I should be using (or not - superman with weights, argh!), but still managed to end it all dripping in sweat slightly perspiring. Could probably have done without Jillian's 5min pep talk at the end as I had left DS in his baby cage for the duration (which worked surprisingly well) but may return to it when I need additional motivation. Do you think there's a podcast of JM pep talks?

nicnacinoonoo · 30/04/2012 11:09

Oh dear, I veered off track again as it was our wedding anniversary and we had a party. Done level 1 6w6p this morning and I am going start ripped from the beginning again today and do level 1 when dd has a nap.
Lots of cleaning to do in the meantime...Hmm

worldgonecrazy · 30/04/2012 16:14

Ripped in 30 Level 3 Day 1. I am hurting! My back is really bad today, I swapped quite a few exercises too.

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 30/04/2012 18:06

rosa she does rather go on at the end of RI30 L4! Did Killer L3 yesterday for the first time, certainly felt it this morning. Finally a nice day here so went out for a cycle and then felt guilty that hadn't done anything for upper body so did 4 circuits of NMTZ. What is it about surrenders? I'm ok with 3 kgs on all the other arm and shoulder exercises but that one, I have only just started using any weight at all and it kills me with 1kg!

rosalux · 01/05/2012 08:56

Ri30 L4D2 complete. Still not massively enjoying this, definitely prefer 30DS, but getting better. Superman with weights though - cannot begin to manage that!

notyummy · 01/05/2012 09:14

The supermen are hard! I can only manage 1.5kg and really feel it. I do quite like Ripped actually I think, although not L1 (bit boring). Quite like mixing it up with other things. Hope to go running tonight if weather allows...we will see....

VenetiaLanyon · 01/05/2012 09:49

Hello all,

L3 Shred today, having done L2 yesterday. Having done this for a year now, I reckon L3 is much harder then L2 if you do everything properly (a la Natalie), and much easier if you don't!

Travelling with work today and tomorrow, but hoping to jump up and down in hotel room Grin

greenfig · 01/05/2012 12:16

Sounds fun though happy & Nicna Smile
Well done on your 1st anniversary venetiaWink
Had another day off yest. Must not get on slippery slope! Just didn't feel up to it. I have lost another lb but scales are bizarrely showing bf% as upConfused
I think it must be nonsense as I feel stronger & can see I'm more toned. I have measured too as the weight was down, didn't want to risk waiting for fri- no change waist, boobs hips or arms but tummy & lower thighs showing a big drop. So much so that I'm wondering if last 2 measurements could be wrong. Still, I'll take it!

nicnacinoonoo · 01/05/2012 19:02

Did level 1 of 6w6p and ripped again today, really aching from yesterdays but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Tried a protein shake, ugh it was disgusting. I was really hoping I'd like it but I only managed two sips.

Jacksterbear · 02/05/2012 09:39

Hey everyone, good work!

Venetia I have been Jillianing for a year too - started on this thread in mid-April last year I think. Well done us!

L2 shred done yesterday as I had not done it for ages and was interested to see whether it would still be as hard now I've been Ripping for a while. I still find the v raises very hard (although managed them all with 2kgs, just!). But I think I can see some improvement in my cardio fitness - I can do all the cardio Natalie-style without phoning it in or collapsing now. I did Davina's Superfit with the added abs section on Monday and it was such a breeze by comparison!

10 year wedding anniversary coming up later this month and DH and I are off on a romantic getaway on a Greek island so bikini body will be required! Eek!

notyummy · 02/05/2012 09:50

Ooh the romantic get away sounds amazing Jackster! WEll done on the improvements that you are seeing.

I did 5 miles yesterday in a reasonable time. My running is a bit stuck - I did intend to start to pushing up my distances again at this time of year, but I seem to have a litany of excuses (time, weather, sore knee....) and am never getting beyond 8 miles. I want to be aiming for one 13 mile run a week, so need to stop faffing around!

Will do some JM today as I am working from home. Undecided what it should be. I am thinking L3 Killer and L1 shred, as I haven't done either of them for ages.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 02/05/2012 10:24

Hi all

I've been feel a bit down for a few days after getting a job rejection for a job I thought I'd at least get an interview for. I think I am too old for a lot of people to consider employing

Anyway my 6W6P exercises have made me feel a bit better. I can do them to take away some of my frustrations. unfortunately I am losing my enthusiasm for everything else when i know I need to get a grip and not give up.

Hopefully I'll get out of this rut soon although it's hard to see how. I haven't worked for 19 years!

Am still hovering around the 9 st 1 to 2 mark. I think I'll have to eat absolutely nothing to lose another 7lbs which is my goal.

Well done on all you who have been Jillianing for a year. I have only been doing it for about 3 months!

notyummy I haven't even managed to fit in one run yet. I got an app but haven't used it.

I am hungry all the time too, not sure what that means.

Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards. I need to move onto level 2 of 6W6P as I've easily done L1 for 3 weeks but I can't quite bring myself to do it! Grin

threestepsforward · 02/05/2012 10:48

Morning all Smile

Sorry, been a bit absent. Have been lolling around on sofa waiting for this pesky injury to mend. It is getting better and I'm hoping I'll be able to start exercising again in a few days.

YouveCat, so sorry about the job interview. FWIW I don't think it's down to your age, it's tough out there at the mo and there are a lot of people going for the same jobs. I think this job wasn't for you because an even more perfect one is just around the corner Smile.
Re the exercise, I think round the 3-month mark is the golden time of JMs! For me, that was around the time I saw the most dramatic changes, whereas a year+ down the line is more maintenance. (Nothing scientific in that analysis at all! Just how it has been for me).

Jackster -10 year anniversary, woo hoo!!!! Hope you have a fab time, greek island sounds gorgeous Smile I agree definitely re the cardio fitness. After doing Ripped and Killer I definitely noticed the improvement when going back to Shred, BFBM etc.

Notyummy hope you get the opportunity soon to extend the run crazy lady !! The weather has really been conspiring against anything at all outside.

Greenfig well done on those measurements, fantastic Smile

Nicna, the sound of the protein shake makes me Envy (in a sick way!). Could you try another flavour though? May be better?

Hello to everyone else, hope everyone's doing well. I hope to be able to post again soon to say I'm back into it. Trouble is the more days off, the less you feel inclined to do it!!

Good days all Smile

gingercat12 · 02/05/2012 13:03

Hope everyone is feeling better.

I completed RI30, but I continue to do it until I get my 6W6P tomorrow. I will also move on to Killer L3 this weekend. It is shocking how easily I got used to burpees. Yesterday my exercise pants fell off. It is definitely good news.

Jackster Hope you will have a fab time.

rosalux · 02/05/2012 13:32

RI30 L4D3 done. Almost didn't make it as DS had me up for almost an hour at 4am, but glad I did. Not sure my knees are so keen though, so may well do another 3 days til friend's wedding on Saturday and then give JM a rest for a while. Off to check out a new swimming pool with creche that has opened 20min drive away as I love swimming and it is so good for you (although not my hair, a whole other thread!)

Karbea · 02/05/2012 18:59

Hello,

Can I join? Just did a 5k run and then the first day of level one shred - it was good!

I'm away for 4 days on the 17th so i'd like an amazing figure by then please!!!

My diet is dreadful... so it isn't going to happen but hopefully doing this everyday will have some positive impact - can't be worse!!

notyummy · 02/05/2012 19:11

Well hello Karbea - first the Avid and Wise crew and now I find you here - we must be soul mates Grin. Not sure about the 17th deadline - possibly a little ambitious Wink but you are not overweight are you, so if you stick at it I would imagine you acyually would see toning and tightening effects by then.

Completely mixed it up today and did L1 Shred (with 5Kg except for the side lunge and arm raise) and then L3 Killer. I don't think L3 Killer is that bad, but there are a few 'ouches' in there. The single legged mountain climber being one.....

Karbea · 02/05/2012 20:24

Well hello there yummy

I'm a little bit above the weight I'd like to be but not actually over weight. I'd like to loose a couple of inches around my middle and my arms could be less flabby.

I used 2kg should I be using a heavier weight then. How long have you been doing shred, have you noticed a difference... Should I be doing it twice a day to see a benefit?

notyummy · 02/05/2012 21:02

Depends on how fit you are Karbea. I gave been circuit training for sometime before i arrived at Jillian's door, so I probably use bigger weights than average. I think most people are probably somewhere between 1.5kg and 3kg. Also, it can be good to have a range of weights so you can change up for certain exercises that you are feeling easier. Re the twice a day- entirely up to you if you have the time. The only risk is a 'going for broke' approach that you can't maintain so you end up giving up and losing all the benefits.

worldgonecrazy · 03/05/2012 08:25

"get used to burpees" You are joking right?? I will never, ever, ever get used to burpees.

I have my plan in place: I move up to Level 4 RI30 next week, then I have a week off for holiday, then back to doing the Shred, starting at Level 1 but I am going to make myself do the advanced for all moves, then when I've shredded back to RI30 going for the advanced, ready for my holiday at the end of July.

VenetiaLanyon · 03/05/2012 09:50

Morning ladies, countdown to wedding now just over 3 weeks; what shall I do for my final toning? I was wondering about ripped and killer on week days, with NMTZ and BFBM at weekends....

worldgonecrazy, I don't mind burpees too much but I really, really mind one-legged burpees....

rosalux · 03/05/2012 10:02

RI30 L4D4 over. Just two more to go in my self-imposed truncated L4. Cannot begin to fathom how one-legged burpees are even possible venetia
