Hi everyone! Just wanted to say keep up the good work! I was going great guns managing to do Jillian Grin in some form nearly every day over the holidays then didn't have time on Tuesday, got a spontaneous invitation to join some friends at the local outdoor museum on Weds (but we did walk there and back, a good hour and up hill on the way home she said desperately ) and then we've got friends arriving in a couple of hours to stay until Sat pm so I was cleaning/food shopping yesterday. I really don't like it when I can't fit Jillian in, but hopefully can get back to it on Sunday, then DS back to school Monday and my normal routine can kick in. CHST, I'm looking forward to checking out that link when I get a mo, sounds insane! nicnacinoonoo, have you got a multi-region DVD player Envy Grin ?

nicnacinoonoo · 13/04/2012 07:23

Yeah we have a couple that are multi-region. One of them is only a really cheap old one as well, sometimes a lot more of the cheaper ones are multi-region than the fancier ones.

I tried doing level 1 ripped with my 2 year old little girl in the room yesterday. Hmm Needless today I ended up having to switch it off half way through, but it was really funny at first with her copying me and she even picked up the lighter weights trying to do the squat and press when I did it. Grin

nicnacinoonoo · 13/04/2012 07:24

to say not today

knottyhair · 13/04/2012 07:56

Ah, it used to be sweet when DS joined in with me, but now he's getting older, he gets very competitive and does the push-ups double time which makes me feel very old and decrepid!

nicnacinoonoo · 13/04/2012 09:33

Aw ha, DD is more waybaloo style with any floor work

knottyhair · 13/04/2012 09:54

gingercat12 · 13/04/2012 10:28

Has anybody tried Jillian's kickboxing dvd yet? It looks terribly cool on Amazon. I have asked for 6W6P though for my nameday. That is what I really need.

I had a bad cold over Easter, so I missed an entire week. I was dreading getting back to L4 RI30, but I wasn't any worse than before. In fact, it was brilliant. RI30 D6, so I'll try to finish off Killer Buns before I get 6W6P.

threestepsforward · 13/04/2012 10:48

Morning all Smile

Thanks for the link CHST, I'll be having a tentative look later Grin

Work has been insanely busy for me, but managed to fit in a L2 Killer yesterday. My legs pretty much stop working on the 1-legged burpies and I'm a sweat mess by the end, but I like it!

L1 6W6P for me today too...

Hope everyone has a great day, it's looking good out there...

Oops, sorry gingercat, no I haven't. Have you got her BFBM DVD? She does 2 kickboxing circuits in that too...

I was wondering what direction she would go in after Ripped/Killer but seems she's not running out of ideas is she Grin

gingercat12 · 13/04/2012 10:54

BFBM is on my list of dvds to get, too, threesteps. I just try to pace myself.

CHST · 13/04/2012 12:25

Just stumbled accross this for those that don't have the DVD yet.....
I found it for my sister who lives in Chile and can't easily get hold of Jillian :)

FruitShootsChocolateEggcitedly · 13/04/2012 13:28

Hi everyone and thanks for all the congrats, I'm sure my weight will be up and down a bit.

I started 6W6P on Wednesday. Felt really easy the first day as I kept having to stop and rewind her!
It's so fast and by the time I get the hang of a new exercise they have moved on.
Yesterday I kept up with most of it and was knackered by the end! I enjoy it more than 30DS though as there's not so much jumping!

I obviously have a problem with my core strength as I couldn't lift myself for the proper sit ups in 30DS and I can't lift up for the crunches in this properly either.

Those of you that use a mat what make, model do you have?
I bought one in Argos a week ago but mountain climbers make it shred blue bits everywhere and it will soon be worn through. It's doing it's own 30DS!
I think I need quite a tough one, i might try using a camping mat.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

CHST · 13/04/2012 13:39

Fruit shoots I have a reebok mat that has survived a long time of abuse! I don't use it a lot though, haven't really for the Jillian workouts but I know what you mean....my carpet sheds every time too!!!!

nicnacinoonoo · 13/04/2012 20:14

I have a york fitness mat, but I just fling it out of the way whenever I'm not doing something that requires lying on it, otherwise it skids everywhere.

Just done NMTZ for the first time, wow some of those circuits are really cruel on my poor weakling arms. Really proud I got through it all though and wore my HRM and burned 400 calories, and that's with switching it off before the cool down.

Does anyone here have protein shakes? I have been wondering about them but don't know where to begin?

rosalux · 14/04/2012 16:58

I went to the physio yesterday morning: ouchy ouchy ouch! But also so good. Really hoping to start RI30 L3 on Monday so fingers crossed I can get DP to do some targeted massage tomorrow. Am quietly excited

threestepsforward · 14/04/2012 17:57

Good luck with L3 on monday rosalux, hope it all goes well with the injury Smile

Fruitshoots I have a mat I picked up from my small local sports shop for £6 - it looks thin but is suprisingly good and only seems to be wearing slightly. Before that i had stuck layers of left-over underlay together which was amazingly soft and bouncy, but the shredding (of the underlay) was awful!!

Decided to do BFBM today, whoo hoo, always feels like a great workout...I never fail to feel totally knackered at the end, no matter how many months I've been plugging away at JM stuff!

Probably won't have time to do anything tomorrow, but if I do it will be a Killer ...

Hope everyone's having a good weekend Smile

Hi everyone and hello to newbies! I am back after a week in WIFI less Herefordshire with my extended family in a 17th century house. Very cool! And whilst I did take my RI30 DVD, gym kit and 2kg weights they did not see the light of day....the only DVD player being WAY to public at any time of day post 6am ...and I was on holiday after all.
Diet also a bit pants... Far too many National Trust cakes and evening nibbles whilst playing board games...
So tomorrow I get back on the Jillian wagon and wondering whether to get back on to L3 RI30 where I left off or step back a level...thoughts?
Before remounting the wagon I had my last hoorah tonight catching up with the Biggest Loser USA whilst eating the kids Easter chocolate.... Grin Watching Jillian making other people sick will hopefully get my mind in the right place for tomorrow!

threestepsforward · 15/04/2012 00:02

Hey happypiglet Smile

I had knee troubles doing Ripped in 30, so went back a level each time I re-started. Not sure whether I had to, but felt like a sensible thing to do to ease me back into it. Sounds like you had a great time away Smile

Now here's something weird and wonderful. DP swears I look not a bit different to how i looked before leaving to move in with mum. I will be honest here: whilst at mum's I was caning 1000s of calories a day on a bad day...all made of chocolate. And I was there for FIVE weeks.

And since being back I've noticed I don't look that different actually. And this is amazing. I kept up (just) with the exercise but I can only think the muscle etc. I'd built previously made the difference. If I did exercise when away, it was only 20-30 mins a day so not enough to deal with a daily surplus of a 6-pack of topic bars etc.

Make of that what you will Grin

All I can say is this might be an amazing occurrence, but I'm relieved I'm no longer there to keep testing the theory....!

I like to think it gives hope to any of us who falls off the Jillian bandwagon at some point or another though Smile

Hi ladies, been back at work this week so I've not posted much. I couldn't manage my days well enough on Fri and Sat to get exercise in Blush but I had planned to run today but it was too cold and snow showery so I stayed in and did BFBM with Jillian instead. Much warmer!

greenfig · 15/04/2012 18:21

Yes similar here 3 steps Over the hols I've had alcohol, bread, choc cake, hot x buns, pasta, potatoes, etc!! I haven't even managed to exercise every day but damage seems minimal. Am looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow though, I like the discipline & my tummy/bloat feels sooo much better for it, although the hols been funGrin!
I had 1 knee & 1 elbow starting to get sore which have improved with the drop in holiday induced motivation, so every cloudSmile
Re mats, mine was a cheap Tescos one which doesn't shred but does stretch irritatingly! V disconcerting mid 1 armed side plank!

rosalux · 15/04/2012 18:37

Hoping to Re-start RI30 tomorrow but rather alarmed by the whole rolling onto shoulders bit. Any ideas as to what I could substitute instead?

rosalux · 16/04/2012 08:37

RI30 L3D1 done today. As ever with a new level I spent most of it working out what to do, so hopefully will improve as days go on. Fingers crossed my shoulder improves further too as I had to modify the modifier on a couple of moves. Also noticed that JM seemed to miss the 3rd strength move on the second set of circuit one or am I imagining things?

VenetiaLanyon · 16/04/2012 09:19

Morning all Smile.

Threesteps, I just love the idea of some sort of residual fitness / mateabolism thing - fabulous!

Killer level 1 today; does anyone else not feel like the stiff lip dead legs (or something) don't really do anything? Do I need to up the weights to get the benefit of this?

Did my first ever 6W6P over Easter; L2 is good stuff...

threestepsforward · 16/04/2012 12:48

Hey Venetia Smile I recently revisited L1 6W6P (still too chicken to attempt L2 again!) and enjoyed it much more than I remembered...

I'm not sure about those dead lifts. I think you have to use some serious weights to get the arms benefit from them. I always consciously squeeze my bum when I come up so it feels like a good exercise in that department!

Well doen Jelli and Rosalux. Rosalux I think L3 Ripped is the hardest of the levels to get to know if you see what I mean, I think it took me 1 or 2 goes to acclimatise.

Greenfigs - yay Smile I'm sure I did put on a pound or two, but nowhere near as much as I should have done. Am really surprised!

Did L3 Shred yesterday and going to do L1 6W6P again later, then a Killer tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone

Did 5 circuits of BFBM today w wrist weights as I want to give my elbow a bit longer break from the proper weights. Was certainly gargling my heart on 1 circuit but felt great after. I liked L1 6w6p but found it quite easy so went straight to L2 (cockily!) & couldn't do it at all! I found it way too fast to keep upConfused
Venetia I find the dead lifts (NMTZ not Killer!!) easy too but I just enjoy the breakBlush
I have lent my 30DS to a friend & am looking forward to having another go to see how it compares after a few weeks of different workouts.
Looking ahead to the summer hols, what do you long termers tend to do when away, & do you notice much difference if you take a few weeks off? As you may have noticed from previous posts my 'healthy eating' relaxes considerably at w/es & hols. V little damage this hol as have managed some dvds & been v active walking for hrs etc but won't be jillianing in the tent in August & def will be eating & drinking lotsGrin
