Well done greenfig, very inspiring. Managed RI30 L2D9, again with lower weights. Shoulder feels a bit better after mini massage from DP last night so hopefully the proper massage I am having on Saturday morning will do even better. Last one tomorrow and fingers crossed can start L3 on Monday

Happypiglet · 05/04/2012 12:03

I know how you feel bobkate I am finding it harder to squeeze some Jillianing in with the kids off.
Wow Greenfig those are great results..keep at it!
I have managed a L3 Ripped today altho I wAs slightly put off by bickering kids in the next room who apparently can't cope for 30 minutes without me! So phoned it in a bit especially in the third circuit arms strength section. But I did a whole 30 seconds of jumping lunges and some of them the second tome around which is def progress!!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend.

FruitShootsChocolateEggcitedly · 05/04/2012 12:29

Day 6 level 3, 30DS today (not done it yet!)

This level is working my stomach muscles much more than the others
However I just cannot do proper sit ups. I have to do Anita's version
I can't do all the walking press ups either, so much for being stronger after the last 2 levels Confused

Haven't lost any weight, am consistently around 9st 4 which still seems too heavy for me but I don't eat much so I'm not sure how I could lose a stone without drastically changing my eating habits which would be hard to maintain long term

Those results are great greenfig.
I never did measure anywhere other than around my stomach and I'm not going to remeasure until I've done day 10.
So far all my measuring / weigh in's have been rather disappointing!

I was determined to get 6W6P next but now I'm torn between that or RI30. I need ab exercises more than cardio though.

Have a good Easter everyone

CHST · 05/04/2012 16:07

well done greenfig! Still lurking here but 2 weeks into my turbofire programme and loving it! (still love Jillian though) I agree it is harder to exercise with bickering kids around. Still get it done though. Usually by letting them watch their latest obsession Tom and Jerry!)
Fruitshoots do you think that because you are not eating much that it is that which is your problem? Have you considered upping your calories? How about through extra protein if possible? I have seen quite a few people stuck with their weight and then eating more calories and getting over the plateau so to speak.
I have been staring at myself quite a lot in the mirror recently Blush. I noticed some lovely muscles in my upper back at the weekend and have to keep checking if they are still there.

Sparklyboots · 05/04/2012 21:04

I have ran and shredded today; did a run yesterday but no shred. The night off shredding seems to have done me some good - my shoulders made it right through inc. the plank jacks. RESULT. Looking forward to seeing all the fat melt away and reveal my supertoned but currently disguised body.

CHST your turbofire programme sounds intriguing! And greenfig wow, well done, hope I can get some of that sort of effects from my work. Going to dash to watch OBEM

CHST · 05/04/2012 21:15

Sparkly well done! It's always great to see improvements in your strength and endurance no matter how small.
Turbofire is so much fun I am really really enjoying it. It is a beachbody product. It is a mix of pure cardio using kickboxing moves, hiit workouts, toning and sculpting workouts and stretching/yoga. I also have Insanity which I am saving for when I am mentally ready.

Jacksterbear · 06/04/2012 10:54

Motivated by the encouragement on here I gave Ripped L3 another go just now. And, well it was still bloody difficult BUT I got through it, sort of. I am the sort of person who doesn't like to do something if I know I can't do it perfectly, but I gave myself a stern talking to Jillian-style, and managed to convince myself it doesn't matter if I am having to stop and start, or rest for a second, and am not being very graceful, and overbalancing lots, as long as I keep going and give it everything I've got! In fact it's a good thing as it's giving me a goal to work towards.

Everyone is doing great!

Happy Easter [busmile].

knottyhair · 06/04/2012 12:02

Well done Jackster! Remember "perfect is BORING!"

rosalux · 06/04/2012 17:57

Keep going jackstar! I'm hoping to start L3 on Monday or Tuesday shoulder permitting. Didnt rip today as am hoping 3-4 days rest plus massage tomorrow will get me back right as rain. I missed it though. How sad is that?

LingDiLong · 06/04/2012 19:48

I've been 'shredding' off and on for the last few months and have got really bored with it now...I made it to Level 3 and could do most of the exercises properly (just a couple of 'Anita' press ups!). So what would you JM fans recommend next? Ripped in 30? I've lost a stone (with diet as well as exercise) but would like to lose another. Not much of it is coming off my wobbly post-3kids tummy so something with a lot of ab work would be good.

Sparklyboots · 06/04/2012 21:41

LingDiLong on page 14 of this thread, 3stepsforward posts details of some of the other JM vids. Ppl seem to think Ripped is pretty tough, but there is one called 6 week 6 pack which might suit your needs...

I ran this morning and shredded this evening. Any day now, when I stop eating so much, I will look amazing. Still haven't read Paul McKenna... must get to that soon.

CHST turbofire looks great. In a very specific, and slightly masochistic way. Do you have something to do every day? Is it a long work out?

Good work Jackster it is tough to do something that bothers your touchy buttons, but do comfort yourself with the fact that you are at least giving yourself the chance to perfect it...

LingDiLong · 06/04/2012 22:15

Brill, thanks Sparkly. I think you're right about 6 week 6 pack. Well done on running and shredding, I tend to alternate! Keep promising myself I'll do both but can't get myself up early enough in the morning!

CHST · 06/04/2012 22:30

sparkly there is a rest day wednesday, so far one day a week is more relaxed yoga style, a couple of hiit workouts either 15, 20, 25 or 30 mins (have only done 15 and 20 so far) and then Fire 30, 45, 55 and 60. I have done the first three and they are kickboxing inspired cardio workouts to upbeat music and lots of fun. There is also toning/sculpting too so a nice mix really. I did Fire 55EZ tonight. Your endurance really improves quickly and I sweat lots but in a good way. It's good to be able to get through a long workout without feeling like I am going to die. It's a nice change from Jillian but after this (can be 12 week or 20 week programme) I think I am going to go back to the Jillian workouts or similar to incorporate some strength

ExcitedElectrons · 06/04/2012 22:57

Hello everyone, I did the 30DS a few months ago and felt loads better and more toned, but gave up the diet because I have little willpower. However, now I need to definitely lose this weight I am back. As much as I liked the 30DS I really fancy a change so I might purchase BFBM when I get paid next week. Have read through most of the thread but it mainly seems to be about 30DS and 6W6P so can I ask anyone how much they have lost/how much more toned they look with BFBM? Thank you! (Btw was also somewhere in the previous thread!) :o

knottyhair · 07/04/2012 09:57

Excited, sorry I can't help with BFBM related results - I just do all of Jillian's stuff in rotation so I don't get bored (although I did Shred all the way through just over a year ago). Hopefully someone else might have done BFBM exclusively for a bit. I'd say it's mainly for fat-burning rather than toning as it's all cardio type stuff and no weights. Having said that I'm doing 4 circuits of it tomorrow and I'm going to try adding weights where possible to the moves. Have had a couple of days off - went to London on Thursday (Borough Market then Greenwich) but lots of walking and brunch in Roast, sampling in Borough and fish & chips when we got home and nothing yesterday but back to it this morning with Killer L2 - found it really tough going but it is definitely one of my favourite Jillian DVDs. Hope everyone has a lovely Easter! x

FruitShootsChocolateEggcitedly · 07/04/2012 11:17

Day 7 Lv3 30DS yesterday

I gave in and measured my stomach...no difference [buconfused]
I think I'm just too old to be able to tone up much. Dh says that there is a difference but I think he's just being kind. The tape measure says no!

Disappointed, I'm going to order 6W6P for when I finish 30DS but I'm beginning to lose motivation now that there seems to be no obvious results [busad]

Jacksterbear · 07/04/2012 11:38

Excited I would consider buying BFBM together with NMTZ and alternate them as they complement each other and give a more rounded workout between them (BFBM = cardio, NMTZ = strength). From what I've read it's not so efficient to do cardio only.

Fruitshoots it could be possible that you have toned up without actually losing inches?? Don't give up! There are many more benefits to exercise than just inch/weight loss! [busmile]

FruitShootsChocolateEggcitedly · 07/04/2012 11:58

Thanks Jacksterbear

Right ...Positive Mental Attitude needed and some retail therapy

I have just bought 6W6p...gulp!

and some new better quality dumbbells as the ones i currently use have a triangular grip which hurts my hands when doing those awful plank leg and arm raises (the ones I got from Argos actually collapsed yesterday doing those [bushock])
I stuck with 2kg though...I'm not that brave! [bugrin]

I will keep going...I will, I will!

jellibelli · 07/04/2012 12:23

Did L1 6W6P this morning with DH followed by some sprint training at the recreation ground. I felt a little foolish but it was definitely different.

I like 6W6P it is my favourite Fruitshoots, it was my second Jillian DVD after 30DS and it certainly Trimmed my waist. I will try to remember to check on my progress spreadsheet to see what progress I made during the six weeks I did it. But I had already seen change with 30DS. I don't want to teach grandmother to suck eggs but what is your diet like?

How old are you? I am 44 and have made significant changes to my body, so I am sure here is hope for you yet!

FruitShootsChocolateEggcitedly · 07/04/2012 14:35

I'm also 44

Never been on a diet really although I avoid eating anything to excess. I don't really eat much.
My mistake I think was not to measure more before I started. I only measured my tummy. I expect my waist and legs have improved but it's my tummy I mostly want to reduce.

I will measure more places before I start the 6W6P

ExcitedElectrons · 07/04/2012 17:41

Thanks Jackster - maybe I will just do the 30DS for a while again, I did see real results with that... In fact.. I'm off to do it now :o

bobkate · 07/04/2012 22:03

Just dropping in to say Happy Easter everyone Smile

threestepsforward · 07/04/2012 22:43

Happy Easter everyone [busmile]

All those feeling dispirited about results/measurements, please don't be, keep going!

I don't think I've ever had the 'holy grail' feeling as amazing as I had with Shred, as it was the first determined DVD I'd done and by the end of 30 days it felt like magic! I think if you've gone through that initial wow period, anything else will build on the improvements but not to the same extent, so worth bearing in mind...

If anyone is starting out and hasn't had the wow thing though, keep going, it really will happen Smile

I am Going Home tomorrow and I'm so bloomin' happy! I'm tinged with feeling incredibly guilty that I didn't handle this upheaval better, but hey ho, I handled it how I handled it. I fessed up to mum half way through that I was eating her out of house and chocolate home and bless her, she hid them and i did try to find them. And considering this is a lady who keeps a chocolate stock large enough to feed a nation for a year, it could have been so much worse! I'm not going to give the relapse a big serious label...I'm going to wait until I'm home and see how things go...

Knotty I'm with you on the Killer dvd, it is bloomin' great isn't it? Have alternated between levels 1 and 3, purely cos there are no chairs here that will handle me clambering all over them in L2!

Will catch up next week,
xx

(notyummy hope all's okay with you, haven't heard from you for a while...)

CHST · 08/04/2012 11:34

Happy Easter everyone! I have treated myself to an egg for all the work I have been doing.
Three steps I use my leather sofa for level 2 Blush it does the trick. Could you use your sofa?
I found I made more progress with ripped in 30 than shed but maybe because with shed I was burning all that lovely flab rather than ripping!

knottyhair · 08/04/2012 16:00

Threesteps, hope you're settled back at home now. Glad there's another Killer fan on this thread! After doing L2 yesterday, we went on a bluebell walk in the afternoon, and gordon bennett, I could feel it in my legs. Had to have a medicinal slice of victoria sponge in the tea room. CHST, hope you enjoyed your egg [busmile].

Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning and added weights to most of the moves - that makes a difference I can tell you, especially high knees! Hope everyone's having a nice weekend x
