Over indulgent halfterm. Aim is to lose 1.5 lbs a week by Easter holidays or (next six weeks for those of you without school age monsters!). Anyone want to join me in a bid for some
Healthy eating and doing 30 day shred.

Nice to have the company ssmile

Welcome to the thread China.

You can plateau for all sorts of reasons Obviously not logging all food or not weighing food can cause disappointing losses. And then there's the Time of the month which often causes a disappointing weigh in but the most surprising is that apparently fat cells can fill themselves temporarily with water - that sounds mad to me but who knows!

I am a fortnightly loser so I face no result one week and then a big loss the following week. Think I might have finally figured out why - I must retain water at TOM and Ovulation...it's annoying because it feels like my weight loss has stalled but it's really water retention that is masking the true picture.
I suppose we have to just keep on plugging on and remember that our body fat can't defy science forever - less energy in/ more energy out must result in fat loss.

Only lost a 1lb this week but pleased with some loss as eaten more this week and done less exercise as its half term I find it harder to get my long walks in with babe and 5yr old. Hope we all get through Easter chocolate fest ok.[busmile]

Crikey! Just got back from a lovely holiday in Brittany, jumped on scales, and have put on quite a bit of weight. Almost embarrassed to say how much (about 4-5 lbs - eek!). I did try, honest. Even went on a run one day and did the Shred once too, but I kept being taken out for meals where the only options involved huge quantities of dairy and carbs!!
I'm actually a bit disgusted with myself, but will try not to get too down and will start afresh with avengence. At least I know what sort of works for me. Have already done the Shred today and have resisted Easter eggs, except a little bit DD gave me of hers (would have been rude not to!).
As an aside, was reading Woman & Home on ferry home and noticed great article on a 2 week meal plan for 1200 calories per day - the meals actually look like things I'd like to eat, eg BBQ chicken salad and Pastrami deli wrap for lunch. Hope everyone is doing well.

corrie you may find your weigh in tomorrow morning brings better results than this afternoon. I'm dreading my weigh in on Tuesday - currently on holiday and struggling to stay away from chocolate, hot cross buns, wine etc with little opportunity for exercise my chance of a loss is limited.

Good morning all,

64kg this morning, 0.2kg loss. Good thing about weighing in kilos, every 100grams counts! (my 200g is less than half a pound.) I admit I haven't been using MFP for the last week or two so I shall get back to it for a final push this week - and will avert my gaze when the kids tuck into their chocolate stash! However I have exercised 4 times in the last week, and only 1 of those times was without kids (and was bliss :) )

Holiday peeps, please don't berate yourselves too much! You are allowed to enjoy yourselves on holiday! And then, as Corrie says, get back to it all again with a vengeance.

BettyBathroom · 10/04/2012 09:47

Well done Sacha - every gram counts!

My loss this week is 1.1kg - pleased as last week I had a small loss of 0.1kg. Holidays are a tough time to watch food consumption but we're hopefully over the hardest part.

BettyBathroom · 16/04/2012 11:18

Weighed in this morning 0.5kg lighter! Very pleased tried hard over Easter - only 1.5kg to go Grin

Anyone else weighing in today?

ssmile · 16/04/2012 14:20

BettyBathroom · 17/04/2012 07:20

It has become rather lovely on this thread. Wink I've joined the 2 week low carb boot camp...hoping that I can melt off the last little bit in 2 weeks. Best of luck with your weight loss ssmile...might see you on your thread after bootcamp - but here's hoping there will be no need! Grin

Hi guys

Anyone want to keep going - still want another 6 lbs off - hows everyone else going - am going to carry on doing shred when I feel like it but also trying to walk lots and lots. Also new theory after this weekend of being seriously over cooked for by mil - only eat what you really like eg she cooked chicken pie, boiled potatoes and veg - cant see point of boiled potatoes so had none ( caused abit of offence but hey ho ). Shall we continue scary Monday weigh ins.

Weighed in this morning at 59.9 my final target was 60kg. Low carbing has really worked for me - but it took me a while to become committed, so I've left calorie counting behind and re placed Gillian with 3 runs a week and an intensive boot camp once a week. Hope everyone else has had good losses this week.
