Over indulgent halfterm. Aim is to lose 1.5 lbs a week by Easter holidays or (next six weeks for those of you without school age monsters!). Anyone want to join me in a bid for some
Healthy eating and doing 30 day shred.
Starting weight 10stone 2. Weigh in on Monday's. Start scary level one of shredding tomorrow!

65.4kg today so 0.1kg lost. Ran 18km over the two days at the weekend so maybe there will be a delayed weightloss from that! (if I don't eat loads today...).

Had burger and cake yesterday and coffee and cake the day before (plus a 1000 calorie evening pasta meal!) as I was at an orienteering event and didn't want to feel tired so was deliberately trying to eat more calories for two days. It worked, I didn't feel tired come day two and ran just fine but back to the plan today! Think I'll try and do a mid week weigh in to motivate myself so I must be really good for the next 3 days :)

Holidaysressential · 12/03/2012 09:13

Well done everyone - we r all losing which is great. I lost 2lbs this week so 5lbs in total and 4 to go. Weighing in at 9st11 this morning. Am finding it hard to stick to calorie allowance and go over by about 200 cals each day but perhaps I'm more active than i give myself credit for !
Sacha - 18km wow!
Betty - your almost there

Morning all, weigh in day today lost 3 lb so very pleased. Have done a bit at the gym and doing shred this evening. Really enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend.
Hope it is a good week for all

Corriewatcher · 12/03/2012 18:12

Weighed myself this morning and was only 60kg (which when I googled it comes out at just 9'44) so a whopping loss if accurate. Have had a flu-type virus over weekend so supressed appetite, but on the other hand haven't been able to exercise.

I feel a bit suspicious about whether I've really lost that much, although I can now get my jeans to slip over my hips so need to use a belt. Think I've turned a corner illness-wise, so will start exercising again in couple of days time. In the meantime, will try not to indulge in comfort food!

Lilyloo · 13/03/2012 15:44

well done everyone on the losses , hope i can add a loss this week. I have been good up to now , very strict foodwise as i am working full days until tom so time to exercise.

Lilyloo · 14/03/2012 07:10

Smile just done a mid week weigh in , to try and keep the motivation up. I have lost 2lb already ! Looks like you guys were right last weekend.
I am especially pleased as i have been on a course at work but stayed away from the biscuits etc but have done no exercise Mon or Tue either.
Today i will do my hour walk and shred Thurs Fri. Fingers x i may get another 1lb off by official weigh in on Saturday.
Hope everyone else doing well.

ssmile · 14/03/2012 10:31

That's brill lillyloo well done its hard when you on courses too!

My midweek weigh in lost 1lb so I'm pleased and I've got to go into work next week for meeting (on mat leave at mo) so pleased my normal pre baby trousers fit :)

BettyBathroom · 14/03/2012 10:43

Brilliant Lillyloo and reassuring for me because I'm heading towards a zero loss this week....despite sticking to my calorie limit and exercising, the scales have jumped by 0.8kg...I can see a pattern forming though no loss one week, big loss the next!

BettyBathroom · 14/03/2012 10:46

Oh and well done to Corrie, Bugsy & Sacha some pretty impressive losses this week!

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 14/03/2012 11:05

Hi, I've joined another thread too about the 30DS. I am on Day 8 of level 1 today. I usually do it about 9pm so I can go to bed and recover read when I finish! Day 6 and 7 were noticeably easier than last week!

Most amusing is that DS and DD have both started to do it with me. DS is only 10 and he either blantantly cheats by sitting down, or does it at double speed Grin

At the moment I am looking for work and I started exercise because i was feeling really miserable and useless. I am quite short and flabby so I would love to tone it all up and it is helping already to make me feel happier. When I started I was 9st 4 and I'm just over 5'1" which sounds overweight to me but my BMI comes out as not. I'm refusing to weight myself until I've done the first 10 days!

We have a running machine as both DDs used to compete in Cross Country but can I ask people what app they use for the c25K as I'm thinking of starting this on the running machine before I brave it outside?

There are a few really dedicated runners in my village and I don't want to bump into them until I can at least run for more than 10 secs!

Corriewatcher · 14/03/2012 14:18

FruitShootsAndHeaves - Firstly, I love your name, it made me smile when I saw the post! Secondly, to answer your question, I used the freebie NHS app when I was doing the c25k last year. I only really used it until I was running more than 20 mins though. It was useful when you are doing lots of short runs and walking cos otherwise I was just looking at my watch all the time. But when I could run for longer, the music started to grate big time. I now use the NIke+ one and listen to my own playlists. HTH. Good luck with the job search too!

BettyBathroom · 14/03/2012 14:46

Hi FruitsShootsandHeaves, I'm currently on my last week of the C25k programme. I used the App "Get Running" it uses the same timings as the NHS version but has one big advantage - you can play your own music while it runs in the background. It costs a couple of quid.

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 14/03/2012 16:40

Thanks Corriewatcher and BettyBathroom

I have bought the get running app as it had the most positive reviews

Now i need to persuade DH to unearth the running machine out of the store all our junk shed garage so I can use it Grin

bugsylugs · 15/03/2012 08:32

Lilyloo and ssmile well done keep up the great work satisfying isn't it?
Managed to drag myself out of my pit to shred this am a lot less exercise this week shame but there you go. Just done L1 D8

bugsylugs · 16/03/2012 21:38

Weekend is here hope everyone enjoys it but not too much. Just shredded L1D9. Then eaten Thai red curry lovely, Ken Hom but have gone over by 150 calories even with exercise.

BettyBathroom · 19/03/2012 08:13

Monday Weigh in - 0.2kg gain I've stuck to my limit...I have my period but still it's very annoying, expecting body to be fully compliant next week and show a massive loss or there will trouble....

SachaF · 19/03/2012 10:24

Monday weigh in, 64.6 so .8 kg, yay! But spread over two weeks that is .9kg, just under my aim of half a kilo a week, but still pleasing!
Betty, maybe weigh yourself again in 3 or 4 days time, water retention and all that! 200g is only a small glass of water after all! I had last week that I didn't really lose any weight, but now have lost 2 weeks worth in 1 week, so just keep going as you are!
Very little exercise here since Wednesday - have got a sniffly cold, yeaurgh, 'tis sunny here so I should be out enjoying it (gardening?) but am finding indoor jobs to do. But yay for MFP, I think that's really been the catalyst to me loosing some of this winter weight.
Well done on shredding, Bugsy. As Ssmile says, think about your calories averaged out over the week, so some days you'll be a little over and some a little under, but we'll get there in the end!

ssmile · 19/03/2012 14:11

betty oh dear prob is fluid retention
sacha well done.

I've lost 2lbs again this week so very pleased I've hit the goal I set myself at Xmas lost 20lbs in total and no longer obese BMI, just overweight :) So now working towards next goal of 14lbs by my holiday in June, which is 10wks away....think it will be tough as breastfeeding slows and chocolate Easter to navigate!

BettyBathroom · 19/03/2012 14:51

Well done Sacha & ssmile I'm pleased for you!

I don't feel too bad about the lack of loss, I am still losing inches and the last 1/2 stone is always the hardest to budge. Went shopping last week fully expecting the whole experience to be much easier now I am nearing my goal but my curves have survived and possibly have become even more extreme. I now have a size 8 waist, size 12 chest and hips (and enormous thighs)! I tried on about 40 pairs of Jeans and came home empty handed. Shopping with curves will forever be a nightmare that no diet can solve!

Lilyloo · 19/03/2012 18:48

Hi all well done on the losses, Betty hope the loss shows next weigh in. I agree about the jean shopping nightmare.
Well not a great weekend, too many mothers day treats. Didn't weigh in on Saturday think I going to leave it until Wednesday.Would be happy to maintain as done very little on the exercise front. My course ends on Wednesday so hopefully back into it then just haven't had time.

bugsylugs · 19/03/2012 23:24

oh dear slight gain not a full pound. But less exercise and weighed in this evening ? the difference.

Holidaysressential · 20/03/2012 17:43

No loss this week still 9st11 so abit dissapointed - I don't think weekend of Chinese takeaway and a roast helped - back on it this week.

Holidaysressential · 20/03/2012 17:44

Well done to all the losses though

Corriewatcher · 20/03/2012 18:57

Sorry I didn't post my weigh-in yesterday - our broadband is down but has just had a momentary blip of life just now. I'm still at 9'4, so no loss this week, but to be honest I'm glad just to have maintained my previous weight loss. I didn't exercise at all last week whilst getting over a cold, and I'm only now strong enough to do my 50 min dog walk on the school run (170 cals on MFP). Think it will be end of week until can Shred again as have a chesty cough.

I was pretty good foodwise last week, except for the weekend when we had a takeaway fish and chips at a school event, plus an Indian meal out with friends. Not good on the calorie front, although I was quite moderate on the alcohol front on Saturday night (I'm only drinking Fri and Sats).

On the good news front, I went clothes shopping with friends and was able to fit in my first ever pair of skinny jeans. Naturally, I bought them straight away. That felt very good!

Really grateful to MFP and this thread, as think without them I would have abandonned my weight-loss campaign when went down with cold.

Holidaysressential · 20/03/2012 20:34

Corrie - hope you r feeling better. Glad you like the thread - I've never started a thread and been abit of a mumsnet lurker before but I agree the thread is keeping me going and am determined to lose this week. Am also feeling abit coldy at the mo so going to do lots of walking instead this week. Have been doing at least 3 miles a day taking 40 mins ( have driven route in car so I know the mileage ). Keep going and walking to school
