Over indulgent halfterm. Aim is to lose 1.5 lbs a week by Easter holidays or (next six weeks for those of you without school age monsters!). Anyone want to join me in a bid for some
Healthy eating and doing 30 day shred.
Starting weight 10stone 2. Weigh in on Monday's. Start scary level one of shredding tomorrow!

Hi all. 64.5kg this morning, which means my scales were either wrong last time or are wrong today - I can't possibly have lost 1.5 kg in half a week! :)
However I am feeling lighter, or is that just light headed from restricted calories :0 .
Took the kids and my mum for a cycle ride yesterday (3 year old on seat on my bike) so definately earned my roast dinner! And definately enjoyed the post bike ride cup of tea and biscuit with no guilt whatsoever as using MFP said it was fine :)
Well done Betty!

Weighing in at just over 9 8, so lost about 1.5 lbs over the week. Really pleased! Especially as I actually feel thinner! Had to pull back on the exercising a bit (was doing it every day) as had a bit of a funny turn on Sat - think I'd just been over-doing it. Will be doing a run tomorrow.

SachaF · 27/02/2012 18:09

Well done holidays and Corrie, 1.5lb each is excellent!

Holidaysressential · 27/02/2012 21:20

I've shredded and had boiled eggs and toast for supper - all in my calorie allowance - yeh. Can we share some treat ideas.

Well done corrie - looks like everyone made the 1.5 lb aim. Sacha is this weeks winner. One week down - 6 weeks till Easter. 5 weeks for me as goon on holiday first week of Easter hols.

Corrie, Holidaysressential, Sacha - well done on the weight loss.

My healthy snack is Total Fat Free Greek Yoghurt, fruit fruit, sweetened with Stevia - big bowl only costs 120kcal - it's delicious. Or a few squares of 85% Cocoa with a big mug of tea.

Tomorrow I'm out for lunch with the ladies - thankfully I'll be running beforehand, so hopefully I won't do too much damage.

Good luck for this week everyone!

Holidaysressential · 01/03/2012 20:32

Evening ladies - quick 2 questions on MFP

  1. Do you add in and eat your exercise calories
  2. I have my setting as sedentary - what are you all doing - I mean I'm not that sedentary as have 3 kids under 5 but not sure which to go for
OP posts:
BettyBathroom · 01/03/2012 21:33

I add in exercise calories - I don't add in things like the walk to school though.
I have set my activity level as sedentary....I try to eat 1200kcal a day and try to have something left over every day.
I use exercise calories - some days more than others, usually to allow myself a couple of glasses of wine and I'll do a 5k walk so I can indulge a little bit more.

BettyBathroom · 02/03/2012 10:45

Ladies I have just got into my old jeans without a noticeable overspill/muffin top...still need to reduce arse and thigh size but oh the feeling! I'm planning on going shopping when I'm done - I'll deserve a new spring wardrobe!

ssmile · 02/03/2012 17:22

holidayessential I add in and eat my exercise calories. I include the school walk as its 3.2miles in total plus I struggle to exist on 1200 a day so I increase that to 1600 then knock off the exercise. I've lost a stone since Jan averaging 1.5lbs a week. My leggings actually fell down doing the shred today :o very nice feeling!

betty that's Fab on the jeans. I can't wait to go shopping, I got some new size14 jeans in Feb, so I don't want to go shopping again until its a size12 now.

Holidaysressential · 02/03/2012 19:32

Smile - that's amazing well done you - hope you had your curtains closed!

Hi is it ok if i join ? I was on another thread but it seems to have drifted off. I started my Shred and healthy eating plan on 13 Feb. Weighing in at 10'2 , i want a stone off ideally by May when i go on a hen do.
Week one i did Level 1 Shred every day and with watching what i eat lost 1lb. I was a little dissapointed but thinking slow and steady is the way to go.
Week 2 i upped to level 2 and did it every day , except Saturday when i over indulged on the wine too Blush but managed another 1lb off.
Week 3 starting weight 10 stone did level 2 shred Mon , Tue ( struggling as i started week with a really chesty cougj ) Decided to leave Shred Wed and walked for an hour instead which was easier on my chest. Then woke Thursday with a cold feeling really rough.
Have been in bed since then , weigh in today and i am 2lb off. Still feeling yucky so not sure if i can re start the Shred today. Am actually missing the exercise now though Shock

Corriewatcher · 03/03/2012 09:45

Welcome Lilyloo - I started off at 10'2 too in Jan and now just over 9 and a half.
I was doing really well this week, but last night went to a friend's house for massive chilli supper and lots of wine. Hardly dare step on the scales now! Will def try and do a couple of Shred sessions over the weekend to make up for it - thinking about progressing to Level 3 but the thought is a little scary.

Good luck everyone for keeping at it over the weekend.

Lilyloo · 03/03/2012 14:53

Thanks Corrie , thats a great loss Smile I always find fitting in the wine calories difficult , thankfully won't have to worry about that this weekend definately not up to drinking.

Have only just caught up with the housework and laundry and am worn out not so think i may leave the shred and go out in a while for a walk.

Good luck with level 3 shred i am still struggling to master level 2

ssmile · 03/03/2012 17:25

I'm still mastering level 1 Blush and been doing it two months! I've tried L2 couple of times but find it too much of jump with my weak core&back with all the plank moves post c-section but I can now do 3 sets of 20 bicycle crunches so it is getting stronger slowly :)
Did L1 again today and hit my weight Target this wk, I write my weight on my kitchen calendar every sat.

Lilyloo · 03/03/2012 19:59

I agree ssmile there seems an awful lot of plank moves in level 2 it is those i am finding the biggest change from level 1.
Well done on reaching target Smile

Holidaysressential · 05/03/2012 09:43

Hows everyone got on - lost 1lb this week so now done to 9.13 ( started 10st 2).
Gonna try and do more walking this week.

ssmile · 05/03/2012 11:44

That's gd holiday

I lost 1.5-2lbs this wk. I love the new electronic scales DH bought in Jan as they give oz too, useful as I'm BF 6mth old so have big heavy milk filled boobs :o I try to weigh after she fed in morn to keep consistent. I'm now 12st3lbs (was 13.6 on 3jan :o) want to get to 10.7 by Aug.

BettyBathroom · 05/03/2012 12:26

Good job ssmile and Holiday!

My loss this week is less dramatic - at 0.1kg, it's hardly worth a mention Sad. Oddly I have lost inches this week rather than pounds....no idea how that works but as long as things are moving in the right direction I shouldn't complain.

I'm trying gluten-free this week, exercise everyday but not the shred as my back still aches.

SachaF · 05/03/2012 18:31

I'm afraid I fell off the wagon very quickly last week on the MFP front, I shall start logging my calories again as of today, and shall weigh myself tomorrow as by the time I remembered today I'd already eaten breakfast.
In my defence, I had a training week at work last week (as my 1st week of working outside the house for 5 years), followed by a hen do and an orienteering event.
Betty, .1kg is still worth mentioning, it's still a loss, even weighing the same, whilst personally disheartening, means you haven't put on weight which is good!
Lots of commas there!
Well done holiday and ssmile.
I would say anyone with kids at home doesn't have a sedentary lifestyle! Sedentary means getting in a car to drive to work, sitting at a desk all day, driving home and then sitting on the sofa! I've spent 4 hours at a soft play centre today, pushed a pushchair to school and back twice (not far) and then to the village hall for ballet and back, plus changing kids etc, definately not sedentary!

SachaF · 06/03/2012 08:33

'Monday' weigh in 65.5kg on my dodgy scales that gave me about 5 readings. So either I've put on a kilo in a week or I've lost half a kilo in 10 days ( I prefer the latter!).

Am planning to shred this morning once I've done the (hour long) school/preschool run, and go for a longish run tomorrow. I've written it, so now I must do it!

Corriewatcher · 06/03/2012 10:21

Sorry for not posting weight yesterday - broadband was playing up. I think I've lost about half a pound so down to 9.8. Think I might need to invest in better scales - I don't normally diet so our basic ones are usually fine, but I'm having trouble reading the measurements as they aren't digital.

The weekend was a bit of a right-off as I've been feeling like coming down with flu since Saturday (today both children are off school sick), so haven't done any exercise since Friday's aqua aerobics. Also haven't been too strict with myself on the calorie front as don't want to feel too weak. Mind you, haven't been too bad either - not a biscuit has touched my lips! Will hopefully be back on track by end of week.

BettyBathroom · 06/03/2012 10:53

Just back from my run, really makes a difference to add in the exercise calories.
Sacha well done on the 0.5kg loss - you're right better to have lost just 0.1kg than to gain, I was just feeling a tad pissed off because 2 days before it looked like I had lost 1kg and then over night I regained it - my scales must be playing up too. Glad to hear you've climbed back on the wagon - onwards and downwards (on the scales)!
Corrie hope you are feeling better now - digital scales are much easier to read, well done on your 0.5lb loss....we'll get there, we just have to keep focused!
