Thanks for the thread holiday I find it helpful too :) I've never done the join a "class" weight loss but I find the encouragment on MN helpful.

Struggling abit this week think it hormones, its hard to tell as had coil fitted after babe so not had period for 15mths but last 3mths I've felt grumpy&hungry this week of the month! Made a batch of flapjacks for kids picnic but ended up eating 90% of them as kids too busy playing to eat Blush all 2000 calories of them. So had 45min power cycle, and done L2 shred two days in a row and some extra walkin so hoping can still lose a lb this week.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/03/2012 09:35

Right, I'm on L1D9 today, had to have a day off monday and still can't do a lot of the cardio because I've hurt my knee and calf muscle. It's really disappointing because I was just starting to notice a different in endurance!

Managed to keep under my 1200 calories yesterday even though I had pizza for lunch Blush

ssmile · 22/03/2012 10:42

Not lost anything this week oh dear by now I've normally lost a lb, not helped by eating 3 of my DH birthday cupcakes last night that I made with DD oops. Just done 2hr walk with buggy so hoping that wipes out half the cake :)

Hope everyone else doing better than me this wk.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/03/2012 10:54

I've only lost 1lb in a week Sad I don't have much to lose though so I suppose it might be slower. Well done on a two hour walk!

BettyBathroom · 22/03/2012 13:42

Think I might have lost 1lb, am losing my dieting mojo...I'm just getting a bit bored and want to start eating normally again. Have planned to stop at Easter, I need an end point to focus on. Will continue to run though and use exercise to maintain and hopefully the last few lbs will magically disappear.

BettyBathroom · 26/03/2012 07:41

Monday morning weigh in and it's good news - I weighed in at 63.1 & have lost 1.2kg. I'd like to be 60kg, at least that is the weight I was when I remember feeling thin. Thighs and hips are still looking on the generous side.

Good luc to everyone else weighing in this morning, hoping to see some good losses.

ssmile · 26/03/2012 10:37

Think I've lost at least 1.5lb my scales been abit variable as baby been feeding randomly so boobs weigh a lot when filled with milk! I had "lost" 3lb sat morn but put it all back on again by the eve :o supposedly. I've eaten lots of sugar this week and averaged 1550 calories instead of 1200 but I've done lots exercise too this week to counter so pleased with some loss. My waist has lost 4inches since Xmas :o gd post baby tummy exercises working.

Hope everyone else doing ok in the sunshine.

Corriewatcher · 26/03/2012 16:48

I'm still stuck on 9'4 so no loss this week, but at least no gain. I only started exercising again after cold on Friday, although did sport relief mile on Sunday so now feel motivated to get back into running again. Going to try to do exercise every day this week to shift an extra pound or two before school holidays start. Then I'll be really happy.

Holidaysressential · 26/03/2012 23:59

Hey all - 1 lb lost - not as good as I hopes but 6lbs overall dice beginning. Why are these last couple of pounds so hard to shift - my thing this weekend was spritsers rather than wine and reduced portions over the weekend.

LittlePickleHead · 28/03/2012 13:35

Hi all, can I join? I am doing a combination of 20DS, C25K and WLR (like MFP).

I'm a bit disheartened as I have been exercising a lot and (mostly) sticking to calories, and although I lost 2lbs to begin with, I then put it back on again. 3 weeks in and still at the same weight although I look and feel slimmer. I have been exercising every day, and I've just read that heavy exercise can cause water retention in your muscles, so I'm having a rest day this evening to see if that helps! I want to lose 1/2 stone in total current stats are:

5'7"
10 stone 1
bust 38.5
waist 31.5
hips 38.5

My end point is 19 May when I go on holiday, I hope it's realistic...

Lilyloo · 28/03/2012 14:34

Hi everyone, good to see more losses, remember if it comes off slowly it is more likely to stay off!
Was a bit down last week as gained 2lb at weigh in but was water retention due to period.
However this week 3lb down so another 1lb off if I factor in gain last week. That's 7lb altogether so very pleased.
Haven't been shredding for a couple of weeks though. It is too nice so been doing lots of walking, parking up half way to school twice a day and walking the rest. Have also done lots of gardening so hoping that helped the wine binge at the weekend.
Have my hour walk tonight, looking forward to it!

BettyBathroom · 28/03/2012 16:32

Well done on the losses smile , holiday & lily. Keep at it Corrie weight loss for me comes in waves but it's hard not to get a little disheartened.

Welcome to the thread LPH we are about the same size and I want to lose another half stone too, I have a swimsuit to get into by the end of May and my final goal is 9 1/2 stone. I find burning off some extra calories makes it easier to stick to my limit. I'm really enjoying running atm - I get a high feeling for about 5 hours after a run - yesterday it lasted all day, it was amazing.

I'm trying to stay on my feet all day now, I don't sit down till 8.30pm - mind you I am on my arse atm Wink

SachaF · 29/03/2012 14:16

Hi all,

Sorry been absent for a while! Weighed in on Monday and still 64.6, think I must be one of those people who only looses weight fortnightly!

Haven't been shredding in this gorgeous weather, been for a bike ride instead this morning and took the trailer and bike seat on the bike to get the kids (3 miles) to swimming and back on Tuesday - they've put on weight over the winter! Whilst it's good for general exercising, my tummy won't magically shrink itself! But being outside has put a huge grin on my face :)

60kg Betty! Not sure I remember being that weight! I'm sure you will get there. I am aiming for 63kg this time round (April 13th), then will have a break and aim to loose another kilo slowly. However, have just scoffed a Graze pack of Jaffa cake - yum! Tofu for tea it is then!

Glad your cold has at last finished, Corrie. Mine seemed to last the best bit of two weeks too. It feels so nice to be exercising again!

BettyBathroom · 29/03/2012 15:57

Sacha Fortnightly weight loss is a pain! I'm drinking loads of water and trying to reduce salt..it's probably water retention but I love salt.
Am happy I've got to 63kg but my thighs are still enormous - the rest of me isn't so bad...would consider lipo if I had more dosh, so I'm trying for more weight loss. 60kg would be a BMI of 20 - surely I can't have fat thighs with a BMI of 20!

LittlePickleHead · 29/03/2012 22:44

I just started Level 2 of 30ds - oh my god, ouch! I can't imagine being able to do all of the moves properly, even natalie seems to struggle at points. Has anyone mastered it? I'm firmly with Anita right now. On to level 2 of C25k tomorrow as well, I'm hoping my legs can cope.

DH is saying he can see a difference - I'm too scared to weigh at the moment, but I will measure and weigh again on Sunday morning, I'm preying that the scales will have moved a little, I need the motivation!

Holidaysressential · 30/03/2012 19:00

It's been 6 weeks since we all started so how's everyone done- I'm posting tonight rather than Monday as we go on hols tomorrow. Original aim was 9lbs by kids Easter hols which started today-and I've lost 7lbs out of the 9 so have gone from 10 st 2 to 9st9 - yeh. Quite pleased - this week I stopped shred as pulled a stomach muscle!!! Instead I have walked at least 3-4 miles a day which seems to have helped drop another lb. can finally now get into a few clothes post baby which is good. Everyone seems to have continued from the start which is great. Happy Easter - lets try and not put it all back on. Looking forward to hearing all your total losses. Xxx

ssmile · 30/03/2012 21:28

littlepickle I found L2 vhard at first so did L1 for 8wks till it got easy, I'm now on week 2 of doing L2 3* a week and its getting easier but I still can't do it all as I don't want to hurt myself. I find it a great 20min work out which is all I can manage except buggy walking in the daytime with baby. I do modify the pendulum lunges as they were putting too much strain on my knees, and do bicycle crunches at the end instead of plank jacks.

I've maintained a steady loss of 1-2lbs a week so vpleased. I'm going to struggle next two weeks to get enough exercise in so expect weight loss to stall until eldest is back at school again but I want to lose another 11lbs by June when we go on hols :)

Corriewatcher · 31/03/2012 17:15

Hi everyone, writing this en route to holiday and weighing 9 stone 3 - down from 9 10 at the start of the thread. I'm hugely pleased - last year's clothes fit really well now. Would love to get down to 9 stone flat before end of June when I have a big do.
REally grateful for this thread as think I would have been tempted to give up before now. THe whole process has made me realise that I need to do more regular exercise than before (ie at least 4 times pw), keep a good eye on portions and cut doan on the bread! What has everybody else discovered?

BettyBathroom · 01/04/2012 13:56

That's a fantastic result Corrie enjoy your holiday. Smile This thread has helped enormously and I haven't found it so hard to lose weight - I think my final weigh in will be a loss of between 10 - 12lbs which I'm delighted with.

I have learn that my body only wishes to lose weight every other week Wink

I have learnt that eating a meal without pasta, rice, bread or potatoes won't kill you! it can actually be quite enjoyable and more filling, it does help with cravings and even if you go for a carbs blow out and even if you very occasionally go on a carbs blow out like I did last night with lovely beer, uthappam & sev puri at my local South Indian you can easily you can easily move on the next day without feeling like you've screwed up completely.

Dh who has been doing this too has lost 17lbs and reached his target weight and has has learnt that his 6.00pm hunger pangs have stopped now he has dropped the carbs at lunch - so he eats the curry but not the rice and feels fuller for longer - that's bloody amazing, he's eating half a meal but he's not as hungry! He has also learnt that Starbucks muffins are 500kcal and he no longer finds them quite as attractive for a snack! With MFP he has learnt where he was screwing up before, he makes more appropriate choices now.

And like you corrie, I have learnt that exercising more allows me more freedom in what I eat and when I can't exercise I should move as much as I can through the day, stay on my feet till I drop into the sofa at 9.00pm

Finally wine stops me from snacking, when I have a glass of wine in hand I never feel like eating - I used to but somehow not anymore. It's my little treat at the end of a day - joy in a glass! Clearly this tip only applies to me Blush

BettyBathroom · 02/04/2012 09:26

I'm still sticking with the Monday weigh in - I know it's officially past the start of school holidays but nevermind. It's my no loss week, so no surprise my weight has only gone down by 0.1kg. Expecting a loss next week as long as I can lay off the chocolate! Grin
I have lost 5kg (11lbs) since I started this challenge and reached my mini-goal of 63kg but I really want to be 60kg, so I think I'm going to continue posting on this thread and hoping I can drop the last few kilos in the next couple of weeks...so I'll be swimming pool ready for my summer hols.

ssmile · 02/04/2012 14:16

I can keep you company betty :)
Ive lost another 2lbs this week :) I'm not sure how much I weighed when this thread started but since Jan I've lost 24lbs :o vpleased with myself as it hasn't felt like a diet just a big wake up call to eat less and I'm loving getting fitter. Another 4lbs and I've lost 2of the 3stone I need to lose to be a healthy BMI and I've not been that for good 15years!

SachaF · 03/04/2012 09:37

Well done everyone!
I have another 2 weeks until my social occasion, so I'm keeping going until the end of the school holidays as much as I can!
64.2kg today, so weight loss is slowing down, but it's still 0.4kg loss which is fine for a week (but is also my fortnightly loss!). So I will struggle to get to 63kg by my set date but will try to carry on until I am! Then later in the year try for another kilo.

I tried Shred L2 last night - tried being the operative word! Of course, I tried to 'do' Natalie, and collapsed in a few places! A very different workout! The kids thought it was great. They were in their pj's jumping and running around the room, lying on their backs waggling their legs in the air, trying to 'row' tins of tomatoes, it was quite funny!

Today I shall cycle (in the rain) to swimming, and go play in the pool with the kids before their lesson. I will treat myself to a cup of tea and a tea cake whilst they are in their lesson! I'm on the hunt for a means for one of them to assist with the cycling (Pashley U+2?) as currently one is in the trailer and one is on a seat! (tag along / trailgator doesn't allow me to also have a child seat or trailer).

I guess the rest of the week will be the Shred DVD as both kids are at home all day and dh is working long hours. If they find it as funny as last night then great but I fear the novelty will wear off for them which means I won't be able to work out until after 8pm!

Chinateacup · 03/04/2012 10:50

Hello, I need to join you all as I'm finding this difficult on my own. Had two really good weeks, excercised almost every day, ate well so net cals were around 600 and I haven't lost any weight at all. Sad I have a fair amount to lose too - about 2.5 stone to target, 3 stone to ideal weight so ... Know I have to stick with it but feeling a bit glum. Love reading successes reminds me to k e e p g o i n g !

Chinateacup · 03/04/2012 10:50

*exercised

ssmile · 03/04/2012 15:52

sachaf I'm doing shred level 2 now. But had to do level one for 8weeks before I could tackle L2 and I can do 90% of it now pretty well after 4/5 sessions. It is hard and faster pace but its a good feelin after sense of achievement :) if you find L2 hard I'd keep doing L1 until you generally find it easy and not out of breath. Gd luck I do it with my 4yr old trying to join in and babe strapped in pushchair cheering me on sometimes :o I have to put her in the pushchair as its only place she can't escape from yet at 7mths!
