Second thread

Loads of us doing really well and losing weight WELL DONE

Some of us, looking at no one in particular de motivated and struggling. I could start with the excuses but I'm not going to. What's done is done, I need to concentrate on the diet from now (and maybe even some exercise). Since I am in a confessional mood I will start this thread by saying that all I have eaten today is about 200g of chocolate. No lie, no exaggeration (I know I have eaten one 100g bar and some more). I really have a problem with food - have no willpower for moderation, it is all or nothing.

So, reasons to continue (these are mine, please add your own):

  • Psychologically I am going to get 'there' again - i.e. deciding to diet and really getting it. The reason I am not is because I am full of "what's the point" thoughts. I have done so badly in the last few days. But it doesn't MATTER - it's actually better to make the change now when I start to get horrified again in 3 weeks time.
  • I am doing it. I ahve lost 2.5 stone since last summer and 1.5 stone since Christmas! If I eat less, I lose weight. So doing it is not pointless and I will see results.
  • I am going to start having some health issues soon. I may have lost weight but I am still at a point where my weight is unhealthy.
  • I still cannot wear my s16 jeans. That's my first goal - by the end of this month.
  • I feel overall more happy and positive when I am logging calories. If I could ahve a day off without blowing it and losing ALL motivation to restart I'd be happy to do that every once in a while. But I can't, so I won't.

Right, off to log my 200g chocolate and think about lunch.

He is fine, came back from the hopsital, went to healthcare, set fire to mattresses in healthcare.

And today we had a hostage taking exercise.

fivegomadindorset · 22/03/2012 19:35

MABS sorry to hear about your son.

TheLightPassenger · 22/03/2012 19:44

hope your son is ok mabs, sorry he's having a rough time.

gosh sounds like your work is even more dramatic than mine (I get to traipse round innards of A & E fairly reglar at my work)

FluffyWuffyCuntyKins · 23/03/2012 07:19

Blimey! My life is so mundane... Five I'm glad he's ok - but can we life swap for a few days??? Grin

I hope your son is ok MABS.

Stealth I found the only way to get over the cravings was to have fruit whenever one hit. It's hard and sucks but after a while I started craving clementines instead of chocolate. my biggest problem is savoury snacks though. I'm fine if I don't have any but if there's a packets of cheesey crisps in the house I'll convince myself that I'm only going to have a couple and then the packet is empty Hmm.

If anyone wants a full-on snog with tongues, I seem to have a some kind of stomach bug with is encouraging a near full-time relationship with the loo..... I'm hoping I'll get some weight loss from it.....

MABS · 23/03/2012 08:31

thanks gals, he is ok but as he has mild cerebral palsy we have a fair few hosp appts and these have come at once. got to get sorted before we go to States 1 april :)

TheLightPassenger · 23/03/2012 09:15

glad he is OK mabs, hanging out at hospitals for clinics is v inconvenient and dull and stressful even for the outpatient stuff. so can appreciate a cluster of appointments is rather wearing! so where you off to? Disney?

MABS · 23/03/2012 14:19

it just relentless really ,lots of check ups. We staying near Orlando but been to the Mouse many times so will try to avoid! also staying in Miam i Beach and then 2 nights in NY before coming home :)

TheLightPassenger · 23/03/2012 17:15

sun, sea and culture/shopping, sounds fab, and I imagine that April must be a great time to go to avoid the ultra humidity.

MABS · 24/03/2012 12:55

t'is nice in April :)

fivegomadindorset · 25/03/2012 15:46

I want your life MABS.

Afternoon all, need to get in a better frame of mind. AF still pending and seem to have put on a lot this time round, still struggling and a friend bought chocolates yesterday so seems rude not to.

However have done 1.5 hours of serous digging out a border today and then 5 minutes on trampoline which sounds pathetci but my legs hurt and I was puffing so will try for that everyday and increase.

Just need to get my food intake sorted.

MABS · 25/03/2012 17:38

Five..you don't want the disabled child hunny i assure you :(

fivegomadindorset · 25/03/2012 17:43

I can swap you a not quite aspergers, still nappy wearing and gender identity issues 6 year old.

MABS · 25/03/2012 21:32

t'is a close call Five :) take care you.

fivegomadindorset · 25/03/2012 21:55

Take care of you too Smile

TheLightPassenger · 25/03/2012 23:02

I've got a not quite Aspergers child too, Five. and some poo issues as well. Might end up going down private DX route for the AS if things go pearshaped at high school age. (think we may have spoken on shiney threads or SN board about this stuff before, used to be TotalChaos).

Am sure all the gardening is good upper body exercise, tbh I doubt I would last more than 5 minutes on a trampoline either. Not exercised today as we went to the beach, but have been v good on my exercise bike all the other days this week.

MABS · 29/03/2012 08:34

Well done Light Passenger re the bike. Ds does very well considering we were told he would never talk.walk or go to ms school. Unfortunately he has majot bladder prfobs and has had many major surgeries. I been crap with the diet btw :(

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 01/04/2012 19:28

How's everyone doing? It's all gone a bit quiet!

I had a few weeks of being a bit rubbish, I kept managing to be quite good for the first half of the week but then going a bit haywire the last couple of days and usually ending up stopping tracking things roundabout Friday or Saturday.

This week though I seem to have got back on track a bit, did quite a lot of exercise at the start of the week (before getting a mega sore throat and having to stop again, grrr) and amazingly managed to stay within my points for the week, despite a night at my friend's with nibbles and a trip to Pizza Express. Weighed myself this morning and have lost 2.5lb and can suddenly fit into a pair of my old jeans that I couldn't before! So hopefully that will give me some incentive to keep it up.

Rowgtfc72 · 05/04/2012 17:07

Have been watching "Obese a year to save my life" If the thirty stone people on there can manage to go for a jog every day why cant I !? Enjoy your easter eggs ladies!

TheLightPassenger · 06/04/2012 13:15

sorry your lad has had to go through so many surgeries Mabs, very hard for you all x

Brisk walking is more my cup of tea than jogging as I'm a wimp, but doing something active daily is key I think.

Not been a v good month for diet - bdays/plumbing crises/mild virus but am getting back there. Am just about under 13 stone now, so some progress!

fivegomadindorset · 06/04/2012 13:21

Hello everyone.

I managed to lose 1.5 last week which I was happy about although not holding much hope for this week, but I have managed to find a job so no more heloing myself off the fridge at my casual one and I have to go up lots of stairs everyday.

MABS · 11/04/2012 02:43

Sorry for silence, been in USA for two wks, soooo much red meat etcBlush

StealthPolarBear · 23/04/2012 08:51
