Second thread

Loads of us doing really well and losing weight WELL DONE

Some of us, looking at no one in particular de motivated and struggling. I could start with the excuses but I'm not going to. What's done is done, I need to concentrate on the diet from now (and maybe even some exercise). Since I am in a confessional mood I will start this thread by saying that all I have eaten today is about 200g of chocolate. No lie, no exaggeration (I know I have eaten one 100g bar and some more). I really have a problem with food - have no willpower for moderation, it is all or nothing.

So, reasons to continue (these are mine, please add your own):

  • Psychologically I am going to get 'there' again - i.e. deciding to diet and really getting it. The reason I am not is because I am full of "what's the point" thoughts. I have done so badly in the last few days. But it doesn't MATTER - it's actually better to make the change now when I start to get horrified again in 3 weeks time.
  • I am doing it. I ahve lost 2.5 stone since last summer and 1.5 stone since Christmas! If I eat less, I lose weight. So doing it is not pointless and I will see results.
  • I am going to start having some health issues soon. I may have lost weight but I am still at a point where my weight is unhealthy.
  • I still cannot wear my s16 jeans. That's my first goal - by the end of this month.
  • I feel overall more happy and positive when I am logging calories. If I could ahve a day off without blowing it and losing ALL motivation to restart I'd be happy to do that every once in a while. But I can't, so I won't.

Right, off to log my 200g chocolate and think about lunch.

Wow - fab losses Smile

I'm 5'6 but my doctor told me I'd never be 9.5stone due to my frame. He said to aim for 10.5. I just weighed myself today and I've only lost 0.5kg this week but I'm in so much pain that I must be getting my period soon so fingers crossed once that's over with more will be gone.

But still, that 0.5kg has taken me from 14 stone to 13.13 which is a huge barrier for me to have broken. Only 3.5 stone to go.....

CotherMuckingFunt · 01/03/2012 08:32

Stealth I went and bought new analogue (is that the right word?? A dial one instead of digital) because I was so fed up with my digital ones being fussy about where they were placed, what position the moon was in, blah blah blah and I've not had a problem since. Except for my body's amazing ability to retain more water than there is in the Pacific Ocean.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 08:51

Well done for cracking that barrier!
mine are analogue, I think - they have a dial that spins round
I also seem to put on weight befoe my period but that's because I get an uncontrollable urge to binge on chocolate, noticed it twice now and then period starts the next day :(

CotherMuckingFunt · 01/03/2012 08:58

I've been having major chocolate cravings to the point that I cut down my meals so i can fit the chocolate cals into my diet! I'm really hoping this is my period because if it's not I'm dying from some incurable stabbing-my-bikini-line disease! Bastard PCOS not letting me know what's going on ever.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 09:01

I seem to ave PMS worse on this diet, never used to bother me before. This month I was so miserable and so desperate for chocolate, never really noticed it before, but then I probably just ate all the chocolate I wanted to.

CotherMuckingFunt · 01/03/2012 09:08

I think that's the difference. I crave the things that I restrict the most. Although dh says I'm nicer to live with since I've had the coil - I was a complete bitch before Grin

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 12:33

hmm that's interesting to know...might have to look into that.
I have a pair of s14 trousers that I have never worn. I can't get them over my thighs. I'm going to squeeze into them by the end of March and they'll fit me comfortably by the end of April.

OP posts:
CotherMuckingFunt · 01/03/2012 16:48

Fab plan - I'll race ya! I have a pair of size 14s that I can get over my bum (I don't have one) but the button and the button hole seem to have had a massive falling out and won't go anywhere near each other.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 16:50

I think you may have a head start then :o I couldn't pull them past my thighs (or I could ahve done but they'd have made a strange sort of skirt afterwards) But you're on!

CotherMuckingFunt · 01/03/2012 17:41

I have no arse but a mahooosive stomach so getting them over my legs isn't much of an achievement! The day I get a size 14 top over my tits will be the day to celebrate my funeral because that's the only way that will happen

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 20:26

Does anyone like cauliflower cheese? Coop own seems ridiculously low in cals, and it's not even a "low fat" brand. We've had it tonight and it's nice enough, not as good as you could make yourslef, but good enough for one in a pack.

JoanRobinson2012 · 01/03/2012 20:39

De-lurking... at the mention of cauliflower cheese! :)

Aldis do a great frozen one - the joy is you can just heat up as much as you need from frozen and it's really nice!

MABS · 02/03/2012 15:43

well done on losses girls :) i was good ystdy and today so far...but meal tonight will be bad. I don't even have scales, weigh myself weekly at gym, not more.

CotherMuckingFunt · 02/03/2012 17:46

My half a kg from yesterday seems to have encouraged its friend to join it so now that's a kilo Smile

LollipopViolet · 03/03/2012 16:17

See, told you I'd fall off this thread :)

Not been too bad recently, although it's my TOTM, and I always gain/eat badly during that, so not been as good as I should really.

Also 3 days out with friends in a row = lunch out which hasn't been easy to resist temptation with.

Out for lunch with my boyfriend tomorrow, back in the gym next week. Does pushing a 6mo in a buggy count as exercise? If it does, I need to see my friend and her DS more often! :)

LollipopViolet · 03/03/2012 16:22

Stealth, I get that before my period too, for about 2 days, then it starts. Rotten isn't it?

Apparently, at 5ft 2, I should be 8 stone. I'm 12 st 7 now, down from 13 (woohoo!) and at 22 years old I MIGHT be able to get to that, eventually. I'd be happy around 9 stone though.

Ooh, forgot in my last post - we're having a Chinese tonight. What can I have that's quite healthy??? HELP!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 04/03/2012 22:44

Hi all!

Had my WI this morning, lost about 3/4 of a pound which I suppose is OK but I was a bit disappointed as I had gone below my initial goal weight during the week, but then gone back up a bit so was just over it at my official weighing Sad I blame the party we were at yesterday, and AF which always makes me temporarily heavier! So hopefully I will be able to reach my first goal by next weekend at least... those boots are waiting to be worn!

DH has reached his goal grrr, he was going on about how many points he gets for exercising blah blah blah... he says it is being "supportive" but I'm not quite sure how, he never had much to lose anyway and was always going to reach his goal ahead of me (while having more points to use)... oh well!

fivegomadindorset · 05/03/2012 19:38

Welld one on osing anything with AF an a party Inigo.

I had to buy some smaller trousers today.

LollipopViolet · 05/03/2012 19:40

Gym for me tomorrow, want to do a heavy weights day, but all the heavy weight bars are in the bit of the gym with all the stupidly muscly men who scare me quite a bit... I daren't go in there! Hopefully it'll be quiet tomorrow and I can just be brave...! No women go in there though!!!

I'm also planning to start timing myself doing a mile on the treadmill as a way to monitor my progress.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2012 19:42

Well done mynameis, any loss is a loss :)
I've been thinking, the size I am the amount I need to lose is so daunting, bit really, if I only lose a stone, I will be healthier and feel better about myself. So as long as I lose I can't lose!

MABS · 05/03/2012 20:17

TheLightPassenger · 06/03/2012 17:30

Hello all, checking in again. 13lb off in total, 3 stone more to go. the road is long....

Mabs - go for damage limitation. tandoori chicken and not too much rice, and you should be fine.

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2012 18:23
