Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Morning all!

Well it's my last day before I go back to work. It's a very strange feeling. Ho hum, I have lots of nervous energy! I'm taking dd to soft play and swimming this morning then the park this afternoon.

Anyway, food looks like this:
B: melon and ff yog
L: chicken salad and a whole meal roll (HEA)
D: sausage and root veg casserole, I'm going to make a quorn chilli for tomorrow as well.

I'm hoping all my nervous energy burns lots of cals.

FriendofDorothy · 31/01/2012 07:58

Does anyone know if the Quaker Oats plain sachet of porridge counts as a HEB?

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2012 08:10

Is that the oats so simple original Dorothy? If so then it would be 5 syns, and a he is equiv to 6 syns, so you'd be a touch short, but I'd happily count it if it were me. Smile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/01/2012 08:26

I use them as a HEB!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 31/01/2012 08:45

Pliz can I have a pat on the for having deliberately not charged my Oyster or taken my purse to work, so that I had to walk despite still having bleeding blisters and it being -2 degrees?

Off to read thread!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 31/01/2012 08:46

Pat on the head, I intended to say. However if anyone wants to pat my bottom, which is large, wobbling, welcoming and inviting, do please feel free Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 31/01/2012 08:53

Urgh, one massive gigantic shudder this end at the weevils. Years ago when I was 24 very young and unhygienic I somehow managed to leave a cheese-and-tomato topped loaf thing in the bread bin, and it ended up swarming with these tiny tiny tiny white creatures that infested anything moist and fatty, including - and this is SO gross - a block of lard Shock. At first glance it looked like mould then you realised it was SEETHING. By the time I discovered it they were infesting the whole of the top of the fridge where the bread bin was. I have no idea what they were. Urgh, I must've been a shocking housewife Blush

Kid I think you should have this week's golden halo for cake-resistance. I find that sort of situation so hard because I always think by refusing (which everyone would know was a rarity akin to porcine Red Arrow teams) I'd just be drawing everyone's attention to the fact that I am dieting. Which clearly has been my excuse for cake indulgence all these years Hmm

Cheese enjoy your last day - and so much good luck for the return to work :)

My day today:

B - Belvita and movicol (!)
L - Greek salad; Activia
D - courgette and butterbean stew, fruit.

Exercise - walking to and from work (7 miles)

FriendofDorothy · 31/01/2012 09:09

Thanks everyone. I was very disappointed to go to the fridge to find no eggs for my usual egg on toast so had to improvise and all I could find was the porridge. Happy enough if it is a HEB though:)

I think I might lose weight this week, even though I had a dreadful weekend. Am hoping to get to Zumba tonight but have a very sore neck so will have to wait and see. I think my body is falling apart a bit!

grinningbee · 31/01/2012 10:06

Morning everyone!

Lake Hope ds is feeling better today, and that the lurgy stays gone. Grim Sad

Rising Good luck today for the first weigh in!

Cheese Hope you get to enjoy today Smile And good luck for tomorrow.

Kid We have silverfish too. They're in the bathroom, and have also been spotted scurrying in our bedroom. This place is damp, and they love it. Another reason to hope we move!

TSP Oh, that sounds really gross! Flour mites aren't down to me being a slattern (I hope) but bringing in something contaminated. I found a lone one in the icing sugar this morning as I need to ice Mil's cake. I'm still using it Grin. Must check the breakfast cereals next though, as they are under the infested cupboard..... ick ick ick! Sorry for the poorly feet, but yay to all the walking! Grin

Well. Not much change over here, H still being himself. M started having radiotherapy on the brain tumour yesterday. It's all week, then a review next week to see if it's doing any good. If it is, then it'll be chemo too.

I've weighed in. Small loss from what you saw two weeks ago, but a massive one from last week! Yes, the marzipan incident snowballed and I was too ashamed to admit it Blush. Promise not to do it again .

Night two of ds in dd's room. He woke just as we were about to have dinner, but settled again on his own... and they slept until 7.05!!!!!!! Here's hoping tonight will be as good.

And before I bore you all to death, food for the day:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita dark with 1 tsp jam (1/2 syn)
Omelette with tomatoes, fruit and a yogurt
Tiny slice of birthday cake at Mil's
Um... whatever the least bad thing I can have at Pizza Hut is

Hopefully I can limit the potential damage!

Morning all.

Ugh ugh ugh to the weevils :( We once had weevils, my mum returned the flour she found them in to the manufacturer with a v snotty letter and they sent us a massive parcel with loads of gorgeous food in. Worth a try??

TSP your fat mites sound minging. No risk of them finding any fat in your kitchen now of course Grin When I lived in Turkey our kitchen had cockroaches and I once found one wiggling it's way out of a sandwich I was eating Shock

cheese enjoy your last day of no work!

lakeflypie interesting on the weight losing pattern. Must have been weird seeing a slim person's arse in the mirror! I've lost the weight so far off my face, waist and legs (apparently). Still a heifer though.

Right, weigh in tonight so got to be super good today.
B- bacon, egg, pear
L- pasta n sauce, crudites, fruit
D- my aunt is cooking a SW dinner, don't know what it'll be yet...

debka · 31/01/2012 10:14

bee good news on the DCs sleeping well. I swear mine sleep better in together. Didn't hear them till 7.30 this morning Shock I wouldn't worry about your slip up, we all do that sometimes, and you're back on track now. Well done :)

risingfromtheashes · 31/01/2012 11:19

Morning all, haven't started my diet plan yet, have first weigh in this evening, so am expecting big numbers as the only way the nausea from taking the Champix (stop smoking tablets) eases is when I eat so therefore I am not only eating but over eating Sad.
So need to have shock factor of how much I weigh and pure determination to get into proper headspace for EE plan.

Have got as far as having porridge for brekkie in the morning, taking tablet and then having a banana.

For lunch I am planning baked potato and beans.

grinningbee · 31/01/2012 12:00

A cockroach emerging from the sandwich that's in your mouth wins hands down Debka That is beyond disgusting! Hmmm... reminds me of an episode of Outer Limits.

Rising The way to look at tonight is this. That number you see tonight is a starting point. It won't get any worse than that if you follow the plan most of the time. If you plan, you should be able to have loads of snacks through the day to beat the nausea too. We'll help with ideas if you need it. Forgive me if I'm teaching you how to suck eggs though!

Right. Better go. Got to feed the dc, and actually get my first drink of tea/coffee/whatever. Then I have to work out how to hold the iced cake in the car, as it won't fit in a tin or box. Won't that be fun if H brakes or turns quickly!!

Back later everyone.

Cheese Are you still ok to do the list tomorrow? If not, gimme a shout.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2012 12:06

at cockroach sandwich!

bee do you have one of those bean filled lap trays? That would prob be my preferred method of transportation.

tell us what sort of foods you like rising (apart from choc and crisps natch) and we will help you with ideas.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2012 12:17

I'm going to link to this soup recipe cause it looks yum and filling, and the only thing we need to do to make it sw friendly is to use a chopped up lean gammon steak rather than fatty lardons.

waitrose soup

pixiestix · 31/01/2012 12:20

Morning Doomers. I have this face Grin as I've just weighed for the first time since I got the dreaded D and V and I've lost loads. Grin Pathetic I know, but every cloud has a silver lining!

A cockroach once waved at me from inside a glass of red wine I was drinking Debs so I feel your pain. The restaurant gave me a free bottle in compensation - the last thing in the world I felt like drinking at that moment!

Kid I can't believe you resisted all that cake. Iron will!

pixiestix · 31/01/2012 12:23

Rising I felt quite liberated by the huge numbers as I knew I would never be that heavy again. Actually I had a mars bar and a pasty on the day of my first weigh in to make sure that I would have lost at least a little by the next week Blush I wouldn't recommend that tactic though!

Yay for the littlies sleeping through Bee - I bet you feel like a new woman compared to the sleep-deprived zombie of the Autumn Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 31/01/2012 12:25

blee at the cockroaches Envy

We lived in close companionship with the blighters when we lived abroad for a few months but I don't think they ever made it into our food. One did bite DH and leave him with a tropical ulcer thing, which gave me days and days of the most satisfying pus draining duties you ever saw

Confabs, Pix - every bucket of sick as a shiny half-stone sticker lining. Or something.

I am DREADING DoD. I don't mind gaining weight when I've not been trying, but I just know I'll have a shite weigh in because of constrapulation and PMT, and I've tried so hard, and walked my poor feet to ribbons

On the plus side, no pun intended, I have just heard that the wedding at which I was going to be the token Fat Bridesmaid is now going to be 3 months later than we thought - so now there really is time to be properly slim and upstage the bride Grin

pixiestix · 31/01/2012 13:03

Ooh, an extra 3 months - thats at least another stone and a half! Grin

I know this week might be crap but once the dreaded Evil Red Tide of Doom is out of the way you will have a bumper weight loss next week if you just stick at it

kid · 31/01/2012 14:03

An extra 3 months to lose weight is great news. Make every weigh in count!

You know it was freezing yesterday? Well its roasting at work today Grin

risingfromtheashes · 31/01/2012 14:10

The last few days I find water tasting funny (think it's due to the tablets), can I mix it with diluted orange on EE????

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/01/2012 14:20

No, sugar free squash is fine though.

pixiestix · 31/01/2012 14:32

How is your last day of freedom going Cheese? Are you going back full time or part time?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/01/2012 14:35

Part time; mon, weds and thurs.

It's ok thanks pixie, though my park plans are foiled by it being so fucking cold. Can't decide what to do this afternoon now!

pixiestix · 31/01/2012 14:39

Oh, as a fellow part timer I bet its going to be fab! I don't envy mums who are forced to go back for the full whack but having three days amongst adults is brilliant fun, and I still get terrorised cuddled by DD for the other 4 days a week. Nice to have some new dresses to go back in too, so that you feel confident plus don't have that faint whiff of baby! Grin
