Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Mmm, she sounds like a treat Bee. Must be where Thing gets all of his endearing qualities from Wink

Hedgepig · 05/03/2012 14:37

more importantly -SecretSquirrel-Bee did you take advantage of the visit to create a distraction and find the details of his pension stuff Grin

Riapwhatyousow · 05/03/2012 15:32

lol Hedge. Does she have a sister from Newcastle bee?Wink

Hedgepig · 05/03/2012 16:12

Does your MIL come from the north east then Ria ?

grinningbee · 05/03/2012 16:36

Hedge I couldn't, seeing as Thing was there too. It's all probably in his old room. I did manage the other day though to find out a bit more info for the other secret squirrel mission. Found out old wife's name (surname smith... arse!) and a daughter's name too, plus year of marriage and divorce. And all thanks to mumsnet Grin

Someone posted a thread about a daughter turning up after 20 odd years to find her dad, so I turned the scenario on him, and asked him how he'd feel if that happened. I don't think he cottoned on...

I'd love to claim MIL has rubbed off on him, but he's adopted, so it's learned behaviour rather than inherited Wink

Ria Sounds familiar I take it Smile

Stupid dr, thats the last time I bother to see that particular Dr. How on earth do you go for an appt and the Dr doesn't even look at the problem (my leg in this case) Instead, she just prints out a letter to refer me for physio. I'm not even going to bother, stuff her and her stupid appointment. She did ask me what the pain felt like and asked if there was any swelling but that was it. That is why I rarely go Drs and that is why I don't intend to go again Angry

This was the same Dr that told me that DS could still go to school with chicken pox as he was already contagious before the spots came out so there is no point in keeping him off now.

So, I will just tolerate the pain in my leg. I really don't know why I bothered to go!

Sorry, rant over but she really wound me up!

kid · 05/03/2012 17:52

bee, she he is definitely divorced then?
I hate favouritism and if I felt someone was doing that with my DC who are old enough to see and understand it, I'd not let them visit!
I try myself not to show favouritism between my DC, I manage that by being horrible to both of them Grin

Riapwhatyousow · 05/03/2012 18:57

that's my method too kidWink, ILs don't do favouritism between my DC, just between my our DC and DHs other DC, and all the other GCs, as they also show favouritism between all DH's brothers (sun-shiny arseholes) and DH (scum). MIL was born in South Shields I think, doesn't live there now though.

pah to your GP kid.

am really really sick of eating toast!

thescarlettpimpernel · 05/03/2012 19:28

Bee how you manage to retain your sense of humour I have no idea

Kid that doesn't sound good (carrying on in pain I mean) Sad - Don't you think you should take up the offer of the physio? Or you could shell out for an osteo/chiropractor - I do maybe ever other year or so for a bad back and it's worth every penny.

DH much better thanks, and there has been a lot of praise for him/his team for how it was handled, which I think does help in an odd way.

I have the 'rentals up tomorrow for supper but I think I can make something Suitable without disaster....

GREEN DAY
B - all bran (HEB), fruit, yog
L - sweet potato gratin (HEA) and salad, grapes and a bit of cheddar (HEA) for a snack
D - chicken (HEB) and sweet potato curry with rice and tomato salad, fruit salad for after.

kid · 05/03/2012 20:44

I was angry when I got home from the Drs earlier (as if that wasn't obvious!)
But I have decided that I'll arrange a physio session as DH has said he can drive me on his day off. I assume I can get an appt out of my work hours, but if not, then I'll take what they offer.

I do have private healthcare but I'd have to pay the excess of £100 for physio so I might as well take the Drs option even if I do have to wait over 30 working days for an initial consultation. I've put up with it since August, another couple of months won't kill me.

I made a super dinner tonight, DH loved it, DS liked it and DD refused to eat it. I can't ever win so I'll just continue to cook what I plan and they can either eat it or go hungry.

DH helped me prepare tomorrows dinner which is shish kebabs. Its currently in the fridge where it will stay until I need it tomorrow night. Poor DH though, he cut the chilli for me and then went and rubbed his eye Shock I don't think he'll be helping me again lol

thescarlettpimpernel · 06/03/2012 09:22

Glad you're going for physio Kid - no sense cutting your nose off to spite your face, as my Granny always used to say Grin Hope they can eb really helpful

WELL NOW I screwed my courage to the sticking place, as my Granny has never (to my knowledge) said, and did a post-holibob weigh in.

I have gained 2.5lb, which is obvs Sad amd Angry making - but I am astounded, ASTOUNDED, to have only gained that in what was essentially a 2 week binge that would shame the Emperors of Rome.

Onward and downward from henceforth!

grinningbee · 06/03/2012 09:35

Morning all!

Kid I don't know, I have yet to find out... sorry the Dr appointment was a bad one. Honestly, you think they'd at least have a look at it! Glad you're going to the physio thing though. At least they'll look at it for you.

Ria I do hope the bug is on the way out - how do you feel?

TSP 2.5lb???? Did you even try? Grin I'd say that was fantastic. Two weeks away, and I'd be putting on a stupendous amount. Bloody well done. Says a lot for the dodgy tum when you got back Wink.

Not much to report here, off to see my dad in a mo with the dc. Hopefully they will both be treated the same!

Food for the day:

Weetabix
Omelette with some left over roasted veg chucked inside it, fruit and a yogurt
Left over piri piri pork and more veggies

Back later!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 06/03/2012 09:44

Gosh tsp I can gain that in a day. Grin

Yawn, in laws driving me insane! I've escaped for an hour to see my friends new baby. Newborn cuddles will cheer me up! Just nipped and got a few food essentials for them.

bee any news on the house?

B: weetabix
L: chicken salad
D: sweet chilli chicken.

Had wine and a scone yesterday, I'm not expecting tomorrow to be pretty!

debka · 06/03/2012 09:50

Been a bit lurky but I'm still around!

kid that's bloody annoying about GP, so frustrating when they don't take you seriously.

TSP only 2.5lb? How disappointing! Wink

bee hope it goes ok with your dad today.

I had a blow out yesterday after lunch, an entire 200g bar of chocolate and 3 bowls of cereal. I felt so sick afterwards I had nothing else the rest of the day, and managed to run in the evening too. Weigh in tonight for me, not sure how I'll fare after that epic fail yesterday...

Haven't seen our official auditor cantsleep for a while?

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2012 13:05

The thing about auditors is they are always lurking just around the corner waiting to find a big mistake to pull you up on debka WinkGrin.

I am around - just been very busy so skim reading but not posting.

Had a fridge top shelf clear out yesterday. It's where I bung all the chocolate the dc are given, plus the bits that I had pre sw. I threw a LOT of out of date choc away, but had to test a few bars to see if they were still ok or not! Did restrict myself to just a piece of each though Smile.

pixiestix · 06/03/2012 13:48

Chocolate testing - now thats a good one CSWS Grin

2.5lbs TSP???? I think you should go back and try again.

I've just done Day 2 of the shred and I can hardly move! I am feeling very virtuous though! Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2012 13:50

I appear to have gained 2.5lbs since yesterday, so it is a poor effort for a fortnight tsp. I have weigh in tonight and it could be a gain unless I wee a lot this afternoon Hmm.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 06/03/2012 13:51

I'm about a kitchen knife away from hurting my in laws. I've been out for the morning, they haven't put dd down so she's beside herself. I bought lots of things for a nice lunch to find they had already eaten. Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaahhh

pixiestix · 06/03/2012 14:05

Breathe Cheese breathe! When are they leaving?? Don't for gods sake react by eating loads of crap, you will only feel worse. Gin and slimline however....

thescarlettpimpernel · 06/03/2012 14:19

CSWS! Sorry about the gain....you are all quite right: I clearly need to go on another holiday to make a better effort Wink

Cheese put down the carving fork. It'll all be over soon

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2012 14:45

Right, had a crap and now feeding ds2, so will weigh again when he's finished and see what diff it's made Grin :desperate: :obsessive:.

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2012 14:46

oh that's funny what it did to the start of my obsessive Hmm.
Just testing :o

Riapwhatyousow · 06/03/2012 14:47

2.5lb is a poor show TSPWink

hope you have a lovely time with your Dad bee.

the small DC went back to school after lunch, felt a bit like I was disapproved of when I took them in. (probably because I didn't go to work and they have no cover staff, but Hmm Think they are waiting to see what I come up with next time they are off). Forgot to phone DS1s school and they just rang to see where he is! (He goes to a different school on a Monday, and I did let them know, just forgot about today.) I am feeling odd, no symptoms, but don't feel "right". Think I would have had it by now though.

I did WI today and I have lost 3lbSmile. I might just have to add that to the list tomorowWink

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2012 14:48

i didn't know that was a shortcut for a grin. How stupid to use the standard shock shortcut to mean grin.

Riapwhatyousow · 06/03/2012 14:48

how much longer cheese?

lol cswsSmile
