Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Eek, so sorry Pimp, Completely forgot to congratulate you on becoming a Dr Blush. That's a massive achievement, hope you are celebrating this weekend (take-away sounded delish).

Good that you're thinking more positively about potential new house bee, I think it sounds great.

I'm absolutely shattered. Not been very well this week and it has caught up with me. Have had friends around for dinner tonight, they're still downstairs but I've made my excuses and have come to bed (luckily they're used to it).

Feel bloated and grim, and have family visiting all weekend; serves me right for moving house I guess! Smile.

Hope you all have great weekends x

thescarlettpimpernel · 03/03/2012 09:27

Oh cripes, no worries Slink, but thanks for the confabs! Now the dread memory of the exam is fading I'm starting to feel more celebratory....

Bee I'm sorry you didn't get the house you had your heart set on Sad - but the one you're offered sounds like an absolute dream, really. Just think of open fires when autumn comes!

Well I am clambering back on the wagon after a startlingly long time off. Meeting a pal for lunch today, but she's pretty health conscious so I doubt we'll binge.

BTW - I point blank refuse to count the milk with my cereal as a HEA. I cannot stand dusty old cereal milk, and it all gets poured away/DH drinks it. SO THERE

B - all bran and berries (HEB)
snack after swimming (30 lengths backstroke ) - bowl of cherries
L - not sure, but it'll be healthy I hope
D - courgette and bean stew with feta (HEA), fruit salad and yoggit

Have a great weekend you fellows!

thescarlettpimpernel · 03/03/2012 09:28

PS Slink sorry you're feeling rough old thing. Moving house is so epically stressful isn't it?

FriendofDorothy · 03/03/2012 18:53

I have had a shitty eating day. Am feeling tired and headachey and generally can't be bothered. Have eaten marmite on toast for breakfast, soup and french bread for lunch. I have just eaten a sausage and I am going out for dinner tonight.

It's just one of those days I think!

Riapwhatyousow · 03/03/2012 19:00

hi guys.

sorry you aren't well slinky.

bee that house sounds fabulous. I would love to live in the middle of nowhere again. Not so keen on solid fuel fires (because I am idle and it would be to much like hard work). If you really want a graveyard, make your ownWink. Will you be able to get your name on this one? Is there a pub nearby or will it be further away?

Spent the last 24 hours on Children's Ward with DS3, he has/has had rotovirus (sp?). Poor little lamb, he was very brave, although managed to avoid a drip. Have been seen by 3 lovely doctors, just a shame that for every nice nurse there was a witchSad Hospital food has improved muchly since DS3 was born, good old celeb chef intervenionWink. My feet/ankles have swollen to rival maternity ward proportionsShock (my left leg has been a bit swollen knee downwards for a while now - a bit old lady likeBlush - it this sinister? I had been wondering if I'd done something over half term when we did all that walking, but it's not really goneHmm)

DH discovered on Thursday that his DS1 (who is in his early 20's), is probably around 23 stone (that's where his mother's scales stop apparently). Adding that to DH's pre-op-assessment in 4 weeks or so has made him a bit more aware of the actual-present-day size of his stomach, rather than the distant memory, so I think he is likely to be enthused about a change of lifestyle and will bully support me a bit more. (He will also lose weight sickening fast, but I'll have to suck that up).

sorry, babbling.

SlinkyB · 03/03/2012 19:18

Ah, thanks, feeling a little better today. Don't know what's up with me; raging PMT I think! Don't think it's the stress of moving, as it was literally half a mile and it's all been very smooth. Maybe just the change, adapting (and stupid bloody hormones).

Had a good day with my sister and grown-up nieces visiting (along with my 2yo Great Nephew, man I sound old!) and now just relaxing with dp and dss.

Pimp I wouldn't bother counting a smidge of milk as a HE either. I've never been that strict with HE portions, nor synned a few glugs of Bisto gravy or a smear of marg here or there Shock and I've mostly lost eventually.

ria Sorry to hear about your ankle; have you tried ice and elevation to help the swelling? Hope it's not too sore and DS3 is on the mend, must've been scary going to the hospital.

pixiestix · 04/03/2012 09:02

Am still around, but deadly busy.

thescarlettpimpernel · 04/03/2012 09:10

Sorry about the franticness Pix - hope it's not driving you to eat cake (or, as in my case, bowls of uncooked cake batter Hmm)

Yesterday was not too bad for me - I had a tofu and pumpkin curry for lunch, but also corn fritters and a custard tart, so for supper I just had a bowl of fruit salad. I had done 1km backstroke which burns about 450 cals, so... [hopeful pleading face emoticon]

Poor DH had an appalling night at work last night and has gone to bed mildly traumatised. I am hoping to get him out of the house to the cinema and for a healthy Vietnamese lunch to take his mind off it, in which case I'll have papaya and prawn salad and Vietnamese soft rolls. No idea of syn value but it's pretty low. If not I'll have pasta. I'm boring myself now, sorry, but i have to write things down or I just don't bloody do it!

B - yoggit, half a banana, bran flakes (HEB)
L - Vietnamese soft rolls, papaya salad (?)
D - bean and courgette stew with a bit of feta on top (HEA)

WHERE ARE YOU ALL?!

Grin
SlinkyB · 04/03/2012 10:19

Your food always sounds amazeballs Pimpy, guess one of the pros of living in a city is having a wealth of different and exciting food at your fingertips. Sorry dh had horrendous shift, dread to think what some coppers see.

I'm here, obvs, am guessing Cheese is hungover celebrating DD's birthday, bee is stalking potential new family abode, umm, kid might be at the gym burning off all those Kit Kats, and ria's in bed with her ankles in the air?? Harhar Wink.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/03/2012 10:20

I'm here, no hangover to speak of.

Crazy busy so blows kisses to all!

Hedgepig · 04/03/2012 11:58

Morning (just)
Ria poor DS3 ave you come home yet or are you still in? Sad, it is amazing how LOs bounce back once they get treatment
pimp I don't count a splash of milk on cereal either I don't have milk in tea and coffee so I struggle to have a whole HEA portion of milk
Back later DS2 is trying to destroy the puter while I type this

Riapwhatyousow · 04/03/2012 12:02

morning!

sorry to hear your DH is traumatised. I don't think I could even imagine the stresses of his job, I hope he does have good bits though, to even out the horrible parts? You are very good to ply him with healthy food rather than bacon sandwiches (which is what I do in any moment of slight uneseBlush)

Didn't actually get to bed with my ankles in the air! (The ankle swelling has gone now, it's just the calf/side of shin bit that has been odd for a while that remains). Have been on the sofa all night with a much recovered DS3, watching cartoons, and listening to DH and DS1 and DS2 puking upstairsSad. Plus the barefoot PJ sprint round the corner to my parents at 4am when my mum rang in a state because my dad had passed out throwing upSad (well, I say "sprint"... it was faster than a walk!) I feel really guilty for having my parents collect us from hospital now, though I suppose they could have picked it up from the other boys while they had them on Friday?

Have to tie a hanky round my mouth now and go to the village shop for supplies (wonder if they will comment that I'm buying loo roll and washing powder instead of wine and crispsWink)

Have a lovely Sunday everyone Smile

Hedgepig · 04/03/2012 12:39

Cripes Ria that sounds awful big hugs mate

Riapwhatyousow · 04/03/2012 12:46

thanks hedge.

SlinkyB · 04/03/2012 17:41

Ugh, ria that sounds horrific for everyone, hope the bug goes soon Sad

thescarlettpimpernel · 04/03/2012 19:42

Oh Ria that's a lot of shite for one person/family to deal with all in one go Sad

DH didn't wake in time for us to do anything today, so has been a most tedious and dull weekend altogether. Bah, I say. BAH!

In order to get myself totally in the right frame of mind I'm going to list (for my sake Blush) everything eaten today, and a plan for tomorrow.

I cooked a sweet potato and dolcelatte gratin from this month's SW mag and it was dead good.

B - fruit, yoggit, all bran (HEB)
Snack - 2 hard boiled eggs Hmm
Lunch - pasta with roast veg and feta (HEA), yog
Dinner - steak (HEB), sweet potato and cheese gratin (HEA), fruit salad

Syns - I sneaked a tiny bit of cheese (3) and am having a gin and slimline when Upstairs, Downstairs starts (4)

TOMORROW (green)

B - fruit, yogurt, muesli (HEB)
L - leftover sweet potato and dolcelatte gratin (HEA), fruit
Snack at work - grapes and cheddar (HEA)
D - beef (HEB) and veg stir fry, egg fried rice, fruit salad and yogurt

syns - I am meeting a pal after work, and don't know if it will be for a cuppa or drinks ,so I will reserve judgement on the syn front I think

O Lord already dreading the post-holibob DoD

debka · 04/03/2012 19:47

Hey everyone, busy here too, DD1 womiting everywhere again

Scarlett WELL DONE on becoming a dr, I am most impressed. And I agree, your food always sounds so appealing, I don't like to list mine now, it sounds so bloody dull!

Ria blimey, life is never easy is it!

Hope everyone else is holding up.

I've been weirdly good again this week, sw wise, but I must admit I skipped my run this evening, it is blowing a hurricane, snowing and hailing out there. I'll go tomorrow. Hopefully.

kid · 04/03/2012 19:48

I was at the gym this morning for a 10:30 class. I was so keen not to go and was secretly praying that I wouldn't be ready on time but DH dropped me off with 2 minutes to spare. I really enjoyed the class though, I seemed to have a lot more energy and gave it 100% more effort than my usual evening classes there. I also went on my own!

I've planned all of meals for next week, I even went food shopping today and have everything I need. I also restocked the biscuit tin and can confess that dark chocolate hobnobs are even better than kitkats.

I've got my Drs appt tomorrow about my leg. I'm not in the slightest bit worried about it and I doubt they are even going to find anything wrong with me. The pain is still coming and going so we'll see what they say.

I am probably mad and I don't know if any of you have used a vibration plate (or power plate) but I am going to order one in a minute. They are supposed to be really good and the one I've picked out has loads and loads of positive reviews. I will still go gym, but will use that too several times a day/week at home.

Another weekend off plan, oh well, nothing new there then!

thescarlettpimpernel · 04/03/2012 21:26

Oooo, nice one Kid - I'm well jel.

As I repeatedly battered a frail old lady around the head in the pool yesterday as I signally failed to see where I was going (if I do any stroke but backstroke I remain completely stationary Hmm) I did fantasise about having gym equipment/a pool at home

Debka I'm food-obsessed unfortunately. Which means the pay-off for comparatively interesting menus is a pair of thighs that continue to wobble about five minutes after I have stopped actually moving Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/03/2012 06:37

Morning all. Just a quick post on way to work.

tsp hope your hubby is Ok.
ria hope the vomiting bug is settling, you poor things!

thescarlettpimpernel · 05/03/2012 10:07

Thanks Cheese. We have spoken about it a lot and I think that helped - better to share this stuff I think. Poor sod, bet he sometimes wishes he was in another job....

Hope everyone's doing OK! I am looking smugly at my special lunchbox full of SW food, but don't know if the smug smile will be in place on Wed morning

Hedgepig · 05/03/2012 10:58

ahh a box of SW friendly food is indeed a good thing Pimp, I just wish my carrot sticks were cake.
I have just realized that I have to do this forever if I don't want to go back to where I was, ho hum

B Melon, summer fruits and yog
L salad etc (with a bit of bad coleslaw)
d stirfry with quorn

Riapwhatyousow · 05/03/2012 11:04

morning all. all evacuations seem to have ceased, thankfully. DCs improving to bickering point rapidly Sad. My dad is very weak but seems to be out the other side now, and worryingly DM and I have stayed clear so farHmm

am stil bleaching and disinfecting and boil-washing...

pixiestix · 05/03/2012 13:28

Thank God for that Ria, that sounded like a nightmare of a week for you. Maybe you and your mum are immune?

I have just Shredded for the first time in a year. Ow. I had forgotten how comfortingly annoying she is. I love her little irritating encouragements - "that little pooch that you guys don't dig.... don't phone this in!" Grin

I'm with you on the thighs DrTsp. I misguidedly wore an above the knee skirt for a dinner out on Friday and then caught sight of myself in a mirror halfway through the night. Bad. Very very bad.

grinningbee · 05/03/2012 13:37

Hello!

Ria I do hope everything is settling again. It sounds grim in the exteme Sad.

TSP Hope your DH is ok.

Cheese Good luck for getting through the next couple of days with the inlaws!

What an interesting few days. Speaking of inlaws as Cheese was, we went to see Thing's mum on Saturday. OMG. Such blatant favouritism that I almost lost the plot. It was all about dd, she tried to feed her so many things despite me saying no, played in the garden with her, sat with her on her knee etc etc etc.

She's not seen ds walk yet. He did it, we called her "no, I'm busy with dd, he'll do it again". Kept telling him off for touching things too. I practically had steam coming out of my ears. She wouldn't even cuddle him because "he's too heavy". Dd is 5lb heavier...

And then she comes out with this gem "people who lose too much weight become grumpy and irritable, and don't want to do anything" while looking at me. Ooooooh!

Anyway. Off to Homebase in a sec. Oh the joys!

Food for the day:

Ready brek, ryvita and 1 tsp jam, banana
Cheese triangles on toast, 2 clementines, yogurt
Piri piri pork and loads of veggies
