Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Huff That's miserable that it's the 2nd one.

Well, H returned mid afternoon. He'd "fallen asleep" on the A1, didn't leave the road thankfully, had another episode in the bathroom and has now gone to bed. I had to tell him where he's been to work today. I'm so fed up.

Yeah 4 months. I'll put money on that not changing anytime soon.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/02/2012 16:31

Oh dear bee, is he Ok? Are you ok?

Riapwhatyousow · 17/02/2012 19:16

hellooooSmile

can't believe our paths have crossed before bee. And while you have moved on and achieved SW success since then, I have probably (depending on when in 2007 it was) gained and lost and regained the same 3 stone several timesBlush

I also have half-term lurgy kid. not fun. no doubt will still have it on Monday, ready to start again.

DS3 is In Disgrace and needs taking to bed, back later

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/02/2012 21:46

How have I not posted since Tuesday?! I did have my parents visiting for a couple of days, and have been busy with half term stuff I suppose.

Bee - I see your 4 months and raise you 28 months Shock.
I would have the op in your situation, providing it wasn't likely to impact on ability to have further dc.

Are you allowed to walk on your floor now kid, or does it need time to go off?

Welcome GWPS, and congratulations on your first half stone.

I appear to have gained at least 2 lbs since Tues night Hmm.

kid · 17/02/2012 22:05

Phew, the floor is all done and is looking very lovely indeed. It only took 9 hours in the end Shock and it was worth every penny DH we paid to get it fitted.

The living room looks completly different, I've got one more unit to build but its being used as a weight on the door grip at the moment. Next step is to try and keep it all looking lovely.

I must try harder with SW, totally off the wagon at the moment but I know I can do it, as long as I go shopping and plan ahead as far as possible. I think Monday will be a good time to start yet again.
I'm feeling better with the lurgy but I do have a bad neck so I've taken my super duper strength pain relief which has definitely eased the pain.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/02/2012 22:18

I just saw your pics Kid - looks great!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 18/02/2012 08:04

Photos look fab kid.

Not much going on today in the cheese household. Dh on nights so it's pretty quiet here. Hoping for a good day today foodwise.
B: fruit and ff yog
L: tuna pasta salad
D: not sure; chilli or some sort of casserole. Will have a read of the recipe thread too.

debka · 18/02/2012 09:54

Hey everyone, bit wobbly here but feeling positive as I got out for a run last night at last.

bee I'd defo have it removed if just for the few days rest in hospital being looked after When you say your H fell asleep on the A1, did he crash the car? Hope all ok.

kid well done for getting it all done, hope you're enjoying the lovely new look.

Hello pointyshoes, well done on your first half stone :)

Food today-
B- weetabix, an apple
L- Bacon, egg, beans, orange
D- roasted veg, pork chops

Cheeseandbiscuits · 18/02/2012 10:53

Well done for going for a run debka. My trainers are probably covered in cobwebs Sad. I'm booked in for a class on Weds evening - I'm dreading it already!

kid · 18/02/2012 17:17

SW isn't going well for me at all.
I had half a banana for breakfast (it didn't taste nice so the other half went in the bin)
For lunch, I didn't have anything as I was out. I did have a blue ribbon chocolate bar at about 3pm.
Then when I got home, I had a slice of luxury fruit cake (little slice of Christmas cake)
Thats it so far today. I have loads of recipes cut out of SW magazines so I just need to work out which ones I want to make and then write a shopping list so I know what to buy tomorrow.

I tried booking some classes at the gym but all my classes are booked up. I think its about time I just went back to the gym and used their equipment rather than waiting for a class to be available.

It feels like ages since I last when, it probably has been ages.

FriendofDorothy · 18/02/2012 18:01

I am having a disastrous eating day today and I am going out for dinner tonight. To be honest I am not too sure I care that much. I need a day off!

kid · 18/02/2012 18:40

A day off can do you the world of good. Just make sure you don't have a week off like me

LakeFlyPie · 18/02/2012 23:06

Very quick hallo as I dropped off the thread Blush
Haven't had a chance to catch up but hope everyone is OK.

Think I'm actually doing OK-ish SW wise but life has been dominated by DS2 seemingly recurrent diarrhoea and vomitting (he had a 5 day bout a couple of weeks ago) which is causing disturbed nights and general stress. He seems fine in himself but it's proving a bit of a nightmare with work / childcare etc.
DP working huge amounts of overtime isn't helping stress levels either Sad
Haven't managed to get on the scales (nearly got there on weds morning!) but my previously snug work trousers which were nearly cutting me in half are feeling comfortable and my hideous muffin top appears to be receding.
Think the last couple of weeks swimming might be making a difference.

Will definitely make it to DOD weigh in this weds and will try and catch up with thread / gossip in the meantime.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/02/2012 07:59

Hiya lake, poor DS. There is loads of it going around it seems. Well done on sticking to SW, you are doing better than me. I seem to manage 50-60%, bit lame. I've set tomorrow as my back to it date. Great news on the baggy trousers.
Food today is very unpredictable. I'm off to a baby shower at lunch time, so I expect lots of cake Sad. I'm going to try and resist it though.

kid · 19/02/2012 22:48

Lake, hope your DS is feeling better soon. There is loads of it going around but hopefully he is over the worst of it.

I'm back to SW tomorrow after a very busy week. I've been shopping today, spent LOADS of money on fresh, healthy ingredients to make meals. I've got about 8 dinners to make and managed to buy all of the ingredients for those so fingers crossed, I'll be okay.

I'm still going to weigh myself on Wednesday and will declare my gain for my very naughty week.
Tomorrows food looks like this:

B: Weetabix(b), mixed fruit, milk
L: Wholemeal roll (b), chicken, cucumber
D: Homemade meatballs in tomato sauce and salad.
The recipe said to use extra lean pork but they only had normal mince so I got extra lean beef which I assume will be okay?

Snacks: Fruit, muller light, Quavers (5 1/2 syns)
2 finger dark chocolate kitkat (5 1/2 syns)

I've decided to use most of my syns each day as I was usually only using about 5 and don't seem to be losing much weight. I figured if I have more syns, I might do better?
No harm in trying anyway.

grinningbee · 20/02/2012 09:39

Morning all!

Lake I do hope your ds is feeling better soon Sad

Kid The pics of the house look lovely, lots of hard work, but you must be very pleased. Bet the hound was pleased to be turfed out of bed when fitter man had finally gone Wink

Cheese How was the cakefest?

Well. I fell off the wagon and then some. I'm having another couple of time out days and then get my arse into gear. I may admit the massive gain on Wednesday.

We ended up with H at the emergency Dr's on Saturday (I could hear his chest crackling from the other side of the sitting room), so he's on very strong anti b's. Then on Sunday morning I heard ds crackling too, so took him along and he's on some too. Poor thing is worse today, not eating much which is very unlike him and very teary. Hopefully he'll start to pick up in a day or so.

Dd has the nasty cough etc but so far it hasn't gone onto her chest. None of us are sleeping much as it's a chorus of coughing. At least my voice has come back now.

Hey ho!

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 20/02/2012 10:49

hello (long time no post sorry! Blush, half term, poorly children blah blah blah)

Snap Bee DS2 was at the emergency Doc on Sat too and also has a chest infection, he has been quite a poorly boy but hopefully the ABs will sort him out.

I have been having a good think about this blooming diet ladies and have made a decision to re-set my target weight. When I stated I had in my head I would like to get to between 10.5 and 11 stone. I set my target in group at 10.5 st but can't seem to get past 11st at the moment and am starting to get cross with myself and comfort eating cos I'm not getting to 10.5st (which is totally bonkers). I feel a bit like I'm giving up but really want to consolidate what I have achieved, and try and stay here. I'm not sure if I can actually re-set my group target will need to talk to my dippy consultant Hmm.

grinningbee · 20/02/2012 11:23

It's rotten, isn't it Hedge Sad Bloody germs! Still, I cannot fault our Out of Hours doc. H was told the day before by Dr Google to take lemon and honey, and he didn't listen to his chest! Ah well.

You can reset your target when you like, I thought. Good idea, then you won't get cross. And you've done so amazingly well! Please do stick around on here though. I need someone to kick my bum!

I may give up on the Easter target, and just try to get down to 11 st. I dunno. Everything seems to be going wrong at the mo, and we've been told pretty much that we can't move (so I'm led to believe from H anyway). We have one more appointment on Friday with the powers that be.

Well, better go and wake ds so I can collect dd. Cue tears and tantrums and snot .

Hedgepig · 20/02/2012 12:50

sorry it's not good news on the housing front Bee are you council or housing association? My friends have just got a 3 bed HA place but after a long wait and numerous bids, I think it will happen in the long term it just takes a flipping long time. I will be sticking around I need you all to keep me on the straight and narrow Grin.

grinningbee · 20/02/2012 14:14

We're council. I know we're lucky to have what we have, but it's a little sad that they think such a small room is suitable for two dc. Never mind. TBH I'd be happy with a 2 bed house if the bedroom was big enough. It seems daft that we're taking up a warden controlled bungalow that someone who needs that facility could have.

I'm going to put a notice in our local shop to see if anyone in the village wants a swap. We're already on homeswapper. I really must get some photos up. The pity is we know of empty houses, but these things have their proper courses to run.

I'll try and keep you away from the biscuit tin if you promise to kick my arse Sargeant Major stylee Grin.

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 20/02/2012 14:41

can't remember what room sizes you posted for the Dcs room but it looks like they only count 0.5 of a person as they are so young here.

kid · 20/02/2012 17:27

Sounds like the rotten bugs are still doing the rounds Sad
I really hope they don't bother stopping at my house.

Going back to work today was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was up by 6am and the morning went well. Both DC were ready in plenty of time for school and I dropped them both off at 8 and then made my way to work. But by 10:30, I wanted my bed.

I really like having a spotless house (its so unlike me!) but I hate having to do it. I don't see why I need to spend so much time cleaning and tidying it. Surely there is a quicker way to keep it looking lovely? (Without employing a cleaner) I'm not doing anything else tonight, I've done ironing, swept and tidied my bedroom.

I booked a place on the gym class that I used to do but was put on the waiting list. I wasn't too upset as I really can't be bothered to go but they emailed me today and I've got a place now. Its going to be a nightmare as I'm working late on that day anyway and could really do without going gym. But, I need to get back into it so I might as well try and go along anyway.

Bee, I had a 2 bedroomed council flat when DS was born. He was sharing a room with DD so I went to the council to get moved as I didn't want them sharing a bedroom when they were older. The council insisted that other people were far worse off than us which just wound me up. I tried everything to get a moved, every exchange list available, put on HA waiting lists, advertised for a mutual exchange. 3 years later, we were offered a 3 bedroomed detatched house as a mutual exchange. It was an amazing swap (for us) and we have been here since.
So, don't give up, we had a lot of properties that didn't work out. Some would have meant a long commute to work/school, others weren't even that nice but this one is perfect. So, your perfect place will come along eventually.
I think the place we finally got a swap on was called H.O.M.E.S or something like that anyway. It was nearly 8 years ago so I don't know if they are still running. Good luck!

Where is CSWS? She is meant to examine my food diary Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/02/2012 19:10

Evening all!

Busy old day at work here. Day one of back on plan is going well! I even met my DH in a bar on the way home from work and had a coffee!
Food:
B: weetabix (heb)
L: tuna, rice, salad. Fruit and muller light
D: sausage and root veg casserole. Not diet sausages so 10syns there.

bee how annoying about the house. I've got no input but sounds like kid and hedge know a bit. Glad DH has some antibiotics. I'm also finding it hard at the mo, I'm a 12-14 which I'm relatively happy with but I still need to be a good 1stone lighter, at least. Hoping for a good couple of weeks now.

kid glad back to work was OK - and impressed with the gym. I'm also going back on weds night after a long day at work, eeeek!

hedge don't blame you for moving target slightly. You have lost so much weight, it's awesomeSmile

SlinkyB · 20/02/2012 20:53

Hey everyone, sorry not been around much lately.

Hedge don't blame you for re-adjusting your target, that's exactly what I did (for 11st too) as got fed up feeling disappointed each week. You have lost a stonking amount of weight, so good for you for celebrating and deciding to be happy as you are! I think most people at target probably say "I'd love to lose another 1/2 stone" (I know I would!). I'm a 14-ish and fairly happy with that...just need a kick up the bum to get fit now!

kid well done on the house renovations, hope you're enjoying them.

Sorry everyone in your household is sick bee Sad. Hope the anti-b's do their thang and work soon. Fingers still firmly crossed that your housing situation improves soon too.

I've been dreadful food-wise lately. Keep telling myself I'll get back on track after moving house on Friday...but am sure I'll find another excuse to carry on shoveling crap into my cake-hole after that Wink.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2012 21:01

Your food diary looks ok kid, but I disagree with your theory about having more syns. Since SW is just a sophisticated calorie counter, the more syns you have the higher the calorie count and thus the less you will lose. The only time your theory would work would be if you were eating so little that your body was going into starvation mode.
