Sorry chaps, my thinking cap is busted. Best title I could manage tonight!

Loads of comfy chairs in here, bowls of fruit, and lots of superfree veggies to snack on Wink

So, settle in, have a natter, and let's show the lard who's boss!

Hedge, my DH did SW with me when I lost weight in 2008/2009, and looked amaze. He is now dieting alongside me and is loisng more weight than I am.

DH is a cop so he spends all his time walking around (er...or sitting in a car Hmm) so he is pretty active, but could overeat for comfort, or because it's 2am and you're hungry, or because everyone else does it (police not known for their sensible diet!)

If he wants to lose weight, and you're doing it too (rather brilliantly, indeed!) then what better time for him to get started?

Also - we bought some spiffy new scale that measure water and body fat % and DH really likes those. It turned it into a sort of scientific project, which I think he really liked...

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/02/2012 11:17

My Dh has been doing it with me hedge. He's lost a fair bit - maybe 1.5 stone (will ask him later - might be more) and hasn't had to be quite as strict as me. Dh tries to save his healthy extras sometimes and have weetabix in the evening.

grinningbee · 08/02/2012 11:25

Hedge Similar story here. H is knocking on 20 stone (I think), and his dad died when H was in his late teens of a heart attack. H thinks he is following what I do, but the reality is he eats lots of chips with everything, drinks a lot of beer, smothers everything in brown sauce (he gets through 2 bottles a week), and who knows what he eats when out of the house. Before I met him, he ate nothing but takeaways. Really.

I've just got to wait for him to want to do it properly though. Not going to happen I don't think Sad. Seeing as he has a few medical problems (high blood pressure, epilepsy) he's a bit silly not to do something, but what can you do. When he has one of his big fits and falls out of bed, I cannot physically move him. I just have to make him comfy where he lands. Men eh?

Right. Got to go and wake ds so we can collect dd!

That's really tough Bee Sad

I think though, that just like all of us, they come to a decision and that's that: time to change. And you can't really force their hand.

DH realised his weight (he needs to lose 2 stone) was affecting him in lots of tiny ways and that he could change that. And since that moment he's been even more strict than me, and I've been pretty bloody strict!!

LakeFlyPie · 08/02/2012 12:43

Afternoon Smile

Well have weighed in and although have been reasonably good I think a bit of measuring and weighing needs to be done as I've stayed the same Blush

SW will need to go on hold for next few days whilst I visit my DSis and family then will get back onto it on sunday.

Cheese that's really rough that work is intruding into your 'days off'. Can you be unavailable due to prior arrangements?

TSP hoorah for 2lbs off, there's no doubt you must be shrinking with your reduced intake and increased exercise. As you know SW works but it can feel a bit like a regime. I try to see it as a means to a thinner end, although if I knuckled down properly my end would be a lot thinner a lot sooner!

Bee you've inspired me to make an omelette for lunch, glad to see you're having a break from the triangles Grin

kid sorry for your kitchen nightmare Sad

Waves to everyone else Smile

grinningbee · 08/02/2012 13:26

Ah, Lake, don't worry. I still have plenty of cheese triangles in the fridge. Just at the moment I'm trying out not having a HEB at lunchtime to save eating an extra 6 syns, as I always like a couple of slices of bread with my tea.

I'm just a little worried about the amount of eggs I'm eating, but I don't think there's a limit on those.

The roasted veg omelette was lovely. I bunged some chilli flakes into the egg as well. Yum yum yum.

TSP I've got used to H and his oddities Grin. Well, the medical ones anyway Wink.

Just trying to get inspired for the next week's menu. I'm struggling. Going to have a look at the new mag if the dc will allow me! I think a chocolate bribe might be in order. Them obviously, not me.

Oh my goodness.

I keep seeing those adverts for the chunky Kit Kats. You know, the white choc, peanut butter etc etc ones. Well. In the interests of research I got one of each today to try sometime. Don't think It'll be anytime soon! They're between 12.5 and 13 syns each Shock. That's the same as 1/2 a bottle of red wine. Yikes! Might have to split them with H. Or keep them until Easter...

Off to grab a yogurt. For some reason I've really got the munchies.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 08/02/2012 13:43

Bee Grin

Have you considered a trampoline beside the bed so he bounces back onto it? Wink

grinningbee · 08/02/2012 14:01

Hee hee hee! That's an interesting thought Grin Might be a better option than the glass topped side table. Fingers crossed, it hasn't happened for a while. The little fits yes, but not a biggie.

I wish I hadn't bought those Kit Kats. I can hear them calling.... The dc have just had a few maltesers and magic stars. I didn't even snaffle a single one.

I did WI today and it wasn't anything amazing but better than I was expected.

DD just went to the shop (she is 13) and came to tell me some man had just pulled his 'thing' out of his trousers in front of her. I went marching out to see him but there is no sign of him Angry

I'll have a look out when I go and collect DS from after school club shortly but I hope that he is long gone, dirty pervert!

No more damage to the kitchen so its time to start putting it back together. We'll hopefully manage to arrange new flooring to be fitted next week. We are going to be really busy preparing the rooms as 3 will get new flooring in one go. I'll have to learn how to look after laminated floor properly now if I'm paying for it. When we moved here, the flooring was already down so I have never been bothered about it. Thats all going to change really soon.

kid · 08/02/2012 16:05

I can't remember who is the doing the list Confused

grinningbee · 08/02/2012 16:18

Kid I do believe Cheese is back on it today.

Sorry about the flooding. What a pain in the bum Sad. And clearing 3 rooms to floor sounds like a mission impossible!

FriendofDorothy · 08/02/2012 18:04

Yay!

FriendofDorothy · 08/02/2012 18:04

Oops... obviously that was meant to be a PM to Bee... I am rubbish tonight!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 08/02/2012 18:12

RIGHT

Tomorrow = first day of trying out SW, so here's a planned menu! Tres interested to see how I get on compared to recent SW failures and slow losses on MFP...

GREEN DAY
B - fruit and FF yoggit
L - beans and cheese on hobbit toast (2 x HEA and 2 xHEB), fruit for after
D - vegetable curry and an egg on top, more fruit I expect

I will also have a glass of port because I found some the other day Grin Can't be arsed to look up the syns but I will later.

FriendofDorothy · 08/02/2012 18:18

I only really do ExtraEasy on SW but I am sure someone will be along to give you menu advice.

I have just measured myself. I have lost 5" off my waist and 4" off my hips since last January. Makes me feel better about my slow weight loss!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/02/2012 18:29

fod I'm listing but will copy and paste off here! Well done on inches, great! Bet your shape has changed.

Any more for anymore?

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/02/2012 19:35

Could I put you off those kit kats by highlighting the fact that they are made by those murdering bastards Nestlé bee, so they taste of innocent babies' blood?

Tsp - are you sure you are having both lots of both healthy extras for lunch? How much are you having? Are you going to enter your sw week into mfp to see how it rates?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/02/2012 20:04

Just catching up on obese a year to save my life. It's one of my old work colleagues, I'm so proud of her.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 08/02/2012 20:31

Cheese was that the brilliant lady who was a nurse? We watched that on Monday night and HEARTED her. I love that programme - condenses all the joy of a whole series of BL into one hour Grin

Did you see the week before when they split up? Sad

YAY for a week of losses!

Sorry for talking with my mouth full of chocolate cake btw Blush
