So whether you have a little or a lot to lose, join me for a weekly weigh in - we could even have a slimmer of the week.

Just add your stats (don't be scared) - but I think it works if you're really honest.

Ditsydotty
Joining Date: 3rd Jan
Starting weight: 11st 1lb
Target weight: 10st 4lb
Why: Just want to be more comfortable in my clothes that are a bit tight & I'm going to be 40 later this year.
Method: Mainly low fat with a vague eye on carbs

I hope there are some others out there, who are up for a weekly weigh in & some mutual support & tips.

Hi :)
I am quitting this thread, I am 11st 9oz now so have lost some weight. I am not quitting dieting or exercising. But I am quitting weighing myself.
I am becoming a bit addicted to the scales and it is making me feel like crap. :(
Ditsy thank you for this thread, it has been good and helpful.
Good luck to you all, Ty :)

Flossbert · 23/01/2012 09:34

That seems very sensible Tyson. It's easy and counterproductive to become addicted to weighing yourself just desperate to SEE progress, when what really matters, I think, is feeling it. You're welcome back of course, if you want to.

I'm away tonight and no scales available tomorrow morning so am having an early weigh in this week. 9st 8 lb this morning which I am well pleased with. That's 6lb lost, and hopefully I'll get my half stone badge next week!

TobyLeWolef · 23/01/2012 09:53

Well done, Flossbert!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 23/01/2012 14:46

I know it is weigh in day tomorrow, but had a sneaky look this morning and I have put on a pound.

Bloody bastards, I have been really good as well.

I am due on though, sp hopefully that is it.

TobyLeWolef · 23/01/2012 14:58

Bad times, GetOrf. I've been starving this week, and have given in to my cravings for crap on more than one occasion. I have done a fuckload of exercise, though, so if I stay the same I'll be happy.

peaky123 · 23/01/2012 15:00

hi everybody, can i be a late joiner please?

peaky
Starting date : 23rd jan
Starting weight : 13st 8lb
Target weight : 12st
Why: to fit into my clothes, regain some confidence and feel better in my own skin. Also to try and be more aware of what iam eating.
How : going to try my fitness pal. Running and 30 day shredding. Am a veggie so find low carbing difficult, any tips???

GetOrfMoiiLand · 23/01/2012 15:01

I am so annoyed. What the bloody hell happened?

I am tempted to buy several danish pastries.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 23/01/2012 15:02

I have also ordered some Exante food things (is like Cambridhe Diet). Have those for breakfast and lunch and then something equally vile and bioring for dinner.

peaky123 · 23/01/2012 15:10

i know how you feel gotorf, not lost any weight this week, hence the thread joining. But makes me feel like eating something lardy.

TobyLeWolef · 23/01/2012 15:11

That sounds gross. Hope it's worth it.

peaky123 · 23/01/2012 15:11

*getorf

Flossbert · 23/01/2012 16:48

Thanks Toby!

GetOrf - I totally understand how you feel about uninspired and uninspiring meals. My sister gave me some useful advice when I was on Slimming World a few years ago and I was sick to the back teeth of this, actually quite nice, red pepper soup that I was forcing myself to eat every day. She said that if you don't fancy it, just have something (low fat and sensible) that you do fancy otherwise you'll end up resenting it and binging on shit.

That sounds really stupid now that I've written it down (if it was that easy everyone would do it) but I spose it's about not regarding losing weight as a chore to be completed, but a new way of sustainable eating.

Hope that doesn't sound too patronising, and don't lose heart.

And anyway, weren't you slimmer of the week last week? you can't have all the frickin glory!

Hi peaky, and welcome!

Katiekatiekatekate · 23/01/2012 20:14

Not really looking forward to tomorrow... had a hen do on Friday night (drink, food, aaaaaaaargh), fish and chips last night and currently drinking red wine. Hmmmm.

rootietootie · 23/01/2012 21:40

kkkk me neither. In fact if I haven't put on weight I'll be bloody amazed. DP got vouchers for a meal out and it was one of those eat all you want buffets :( To say I showed no self restraint would be an understatement. And it blew all my hard work out of the window. Have told him no more. Also have just got my first period since ds2 was born 13 months ago. I will disproportionally blame the weight gain on that. On the upside, just received the 30 day shred dvd so will start that tomorrow, although going by some of the posts on other threads i may be dead by this time next week. Good luck for tomorrows weigh in everyone.

doradoo · 24/01/2012 06:43

Good Morning All - that time of the week again.....

Todays WI - 82.8 (down 900g this week) so pleased with steady progress.

Good luck.

rootietootie · 24/01/2012 07:34

yay just weighed myself and no weight gain, Sad at no weight lost this week but its my own fault. Gonna start the 30 day shred today and hopefully that will be a kick up my butt!

AfternoonNap · 24/01/2012 08:24

OK - I have resolved the weighing scales issue (mostly by ignoring it:) ) and have decided to focus on the weight loss, not the starting point!! Weighed myself this morning and have lost 1.8kg (new weight 86.2) over the two weeks so that's .9kg a week which I guess is a steady pace - but won't win me "slimmer of the week" :(
Really sorry but I don't know how to c&p on my iPad (is that a stealth post)
This week's resolution - not to weigh myself obsessively every morning and evening :)

babysbreath · 24/01/2012 09:30

Morning all, do we do the cutting and pasting? If so, here is mine:

Current Weight: 9st 12lbs, Total Loss: 5lbs
Target: 9st
Why: I want my clothes to fit me better and feel more attractive & healthier
Method: Paul McKenna

TobyLeWolef · 24/01/2012 09:58

Meh. One measly lb off this week. I'm not surprised, though. I've not been good at all and it's only the exercise that's saved me putting on a stone, I'm sure of it!

TobyLeWolef
Joining Date: 9th Jan
Starting weight: 11st 3lb
Current Weight: 11st 0.5lb, Total Weight Loss 2.5lbs
Target weight: 10st
Why: I'm definitely too fat for my height (5'3"), clothes are getting uncomfortable and I'm going on holiday at the beginning of April.
Method: Basic cutting down/vague calorie counting/keeping an eye on carbs. And exercise -- Shredding, various DVDs, being more active in general.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2012 11:27

Bollocks, I've put on 5lbs on my weeks holiday. Am now 13 stone. Have just been to m&s and stocked up on healthy food.

Joining date: 6th Jan
Starting weight. 13 stone 1.5lbs

Current weight 13 stone, total loss 1.5lbs.
Target weight 11 stone
Why: none of my clothes fit, I have a fat stomach, think it's making my backache worse.
Method: eating less, MFP, more exercise.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 24/01/2012 11:33

Pah. Just PAH. I weigh exactly the same as last week. I put it down to the fact I am due on. I have been very good, but I do notice that I have been picking at things when I am cooking (downfall) so I am going to try and stop that.

Plus we eat really late at night - about 9pm. I am going to try and eat early or have a larger lunch and eat soup for dinner.

That is all until my Exante shite turns up. No - that's not the spirit is it. I am going to EMBRACE the meal replacement shakes, soups and bars Smile Smile Smile (that is a rictus grin btw Grin)

Looks like we are all in a similar boat this week - with either losing a small amount or just the same as last week. Perhaps we have all got the week-3-of-diet blues. Toby looks like you will be slimmer of the week with your 1lb loss!

Welcome peaky - hope your weight loss goes well. I have got to say that I have no idea how you would do low carb being vegetarian - when I do it I seem to exist on chicken and eggs. I think low GI veg like lentils and chickpeas would be the way to go (that almost sounds as appealing as my Exante plan! Grin)

Joined: 4th Jan 2012 (first weigh in 4th Jan)
Starting weight:12 stone 3
Current weight: 11 stone 8 Weight Loss: 9lb
Target weight: 9 stone 12 by end of June.
Height: 6 foot
Why: Looking best for holiday in July. I look terrible at this weight and after a horrible illness getting fit and healthy is my prime aim.
Method: Alternate day method. Walking and low impact weight training.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 24/01/2012 11:34

Ooh Viva that sounds like a good holiday. Grin

TobyLeWolef · 24/01/2012 11:39

I reckon our periods have conspired against us, GetOrf. I was due on for last week's weigh-in, and am just finishing for this week's.

My holiday goal will be to put on more than Viva did :o
